Discovery's Deadliest Catch!
I'm more shocked by all my "losing" e-mails, 1,411 is insane.
Interestingly, that does pretty much verify the win ratio. Your average was ~4.4%, mine (from a slightly smaller but still large number of winnings--20,400 points) was ~4.7%. That's pretty damn close to their estimate that you'll win one in every 25 entries.

We're sorry, but we've given away all of our Xbox points for today! Try again tomorrow for another chance to win Catch Points!

Looks like I'll be staying up until Midnight tonight to try and hit this up...

Thanks OP (and a lot of others)!! I'd hate to be the programmer for this contest who gets to work on Monday morning! I'm pretty sure we only have 1 more day to hit this up.

Lol i would have done as good as LegendKiller but my mom made me go to bed. I figured out the phone number thing an hour or two before everyone else besides legendkiller. Still got 6400msp most i've ever had at once. Turns out i only activated 15 of them and I gave away 2 but i won 18 so i gotta go through them all and see which i missed.

"Thanks for entering. Online winners will be announced at the end of contest. Remember, only 3 entries per person per day. People signing up with more than 1 email address or phone number in an attempt to get more than 3 entries per day will be invalidated."

Hmm, this is what the site says now when you enter. It looks like they caught up with their mistake and fix it. Though I do hope that isn't what happened. May be just cause they're out of code. Let cross fingers shall we.

Yahoo finally took their snail mail time in delivering the emails and got some more points lol More msp for my free xbox360 I got from LSC!

snail mail? i think it's your email service. I got all my codes as soon as i got the "Congratulation You've won" message. I use Gmail btw. I redeem them as soon as I got them too just in case they invalidate it xD

People including me used their yahoo spam accounts before we found out how awesome Gmail is lol.

Yeah, that certainly does not bode well for the remainder of the contest.

Edit: Moreover, the form now resets all of your information after you enter, which means that even if it does still work it'll take notably longer to enter the contest multiple times. I think this is on life support, if it's not truly dead.

well I hope what they thought were people are trying gain many entries to win the grand prize not the small shrimps like the 400MSP xD. All we can do is hope.

Yeah, but since they've changed it to no longer be an instant win game (apparently), that suggests that they will in fact screen out duplicate entries.

you probably right. Cuz they also remove your info when you submit now. Unlike before.

BTW when I search for the contest on google this thread is the first one shown

Same here (and D/lded a bunch of stuff I needed). Didn't want to risk it. Call me paranoid.

I spent it on a bunch of stuff.

Motley Crue Album - 1280pts
The Pitt - 800pts
Operation Anchorage - 800pts
Banjo Kazooie - 1200pts
Galaga Legions - 800pts
Uno - 400pts
Gears 2 Snowblind maps - 800pts i think.
well may be we just need to make a "few" email accounts for it xD.
Few? You only need one. Just use the dot trick.

For example; [email protected] is the same as [email protected] but these contest entry forms think these emial addresses are two different email addresses due to the period. And yes, your email does reach you at the main account that doesn't have the dot even if you do put the dot in.

Missed out on this one. I could really use points to buy the Mythic Maps and the RE5 versus mode, but oh well. Getting a shit ton of points back in the microsoft car challenge thing was fine for me :).

I had 25 wins in 2 hours man. I think the lost was about 600 ish lol.

And thanks for letting me know about the dot trick for email. Can i just put the dot anywhere? Never new about this before lol

And thinks about it this is the first time i get something out of these kind of contests. I have never won anything up til now in my life in this kind of contest. Not even a small pitty prize. Since I first found CAG i know it would be my favorite website of all time. I seriously has to visit this site at least once or twice a day or else I won't feel like my date is completed. CAG is awesome! Thanks you!

Can anyone even log onto xbox.com? I click sign in but it brings me to the account creation page. And ya, I'm fairly sure the dot can be used anywhere (maybe dont put it at the end or after the @ though or before or after the . in .com...but those are just guesses of where it wouldn't work xD)
Oh well, this was the deal (or contest) of the year so far :D
every MSP giveaway is the deal of the year for the less scrupulous.

It doesn't work in the very beginning, right before the @ symbol and after the @ symbol. Otherwise, it works anywhere. You can even have two, three, four, five, etc... dots. The longer the email address is the more combinations that are possible.

Who's stealing? They screwed up ;). They have to deal with the consequences.

haha shut it might.
When companies post errors in their flyer, screw up on contests, they have to often accept it.

So, wampa8jedi informed me that begging on CAG is frowned upon and soliciting is ban-worthy. That just seems pretty high and mighty considering that these codes were acquired through fraud.

Wow, just wow. One minute you are hoping to get your hands on these "fraud" codes and the next you are complaining that people were able to aquire the codes. Come on now grow up.

how is it fraud? What part of this was illegal? Don't be a sore loser cuz you didn't get any. People miss out on free stuffs everyday. You aren't the only one. That guy might have been to harsh on you but seems like you're PMing everyone and beg for code. This is Cheapassgamer not Beggerassgamer.

Putting in all real information besides a phone number is barely fraud, a lot of people put in fake mobile numbers all the time, since they don't want people having their cells to get spammed with junk.

It's just much better when the phone number turns out to be 10 0's. :)

Sucks that they caught on, but it was good while it lasted. Maybe it's still possible to use, but I doubt anyone will be winning huge quantities anymore. Oh well, I made out fine (and if this is so fraudulent, mantis, why did you send me a PM asking for codes?).

I took the liberty of actually letting you know the rules around here, rather than reporting you to the mods. You responded with both an abrasive PM and by publicly calling me out--consider yourself duly reported to the mods. Don't let the door hit you on the way out :)

Edit: For everyone except for mantis--I'm giving away an extra code in this thread. I'm only going to keep it open for about two and a half hours, so your odds should be pretty good.

Someone who won over 20,000 points by falsifying phone numbers or email addresses shouldn't judge someone for asking for a couple codes.

Such rampant abuse of these giveaways and contests will only make them less common.

No e-mails were falsified, and I even used all of my real phone numbers too. There's still nothing fraudulent about it. Saying this is fraudulent, is like saying your CAG username is fraudulent, because it's not your real name.

It's not anything you can make a basis off of.

Maybe I want a little excitement, to feel like I'm doing something wrong, LOL.

So the moral of the story is you're jealous because you didn't get anything. Few minutes ago you were sending PM to everyone asking for these so called "fraud" codes and after vein attempts you came back and say how bad it is? Very mature. As you can see now your chance of getting these codes are none to zero. Next time check the forum more often. That is why majority of people got something from this are active members. People stop being sore losers and complaints about this. It is not fraud in anyway, using fake info for promotions/contests IS LEGAL.

It was fun while we lasted. Good luck to those who are still trying to get in on this. I'm going to take the codes and run. Thanks everyone involved in stepping around the system.
