they could lie just to force sales. they probally wont be numbered so there is no way you could really prove over 1000 was made. Also i hope they limit it to 1 per person cause you know some SOB will put an order in for 1000 and then sell them on ebay for 200 each
Yeah, just like the Palm Figures are still "LIMITED QUANTITIES" on the site. I put a big ass chunk on my CC because I wanted to get em before they sold out, then here we are almost 2 months later and they're still selling them.

They go on sale on a Tuesday, so I doubt many people will be waiting at their computers to buy, especially with the exorbitant price.

That game definitely didn't cost a lot to develop, as the engine is probably just a modified MK one. It annoys me because I really like the artwork, and I can't just buy the book.

For everyone hurting from the price, sell the artbook on Ebay for 25 the first week to make up the cost. People were buying the Tales of Symphonia book for ripoff prices from day 1.
bah, I wasnt going to tell anyone.

$74.99! Who do they think they are? Working Designs?
If they were Working Designs we would probably have to wait another ten or twelve months before they released the game....
Is it just me, or does Double Jump suck?

Brady gives you high quality guides which are large and easy to read for 10 dollars, DJ provides tiny guides with tiny print on many pages for double the price...
It's not just you - I agree with all of your complaints, plus with the SMT:Nocturne guide that was the most dis-organized guide ever.

The $65 package is a good deal for a pre-order, but I'm hoping this game drops in price and won't become rare like the first Disgaea. Not being published by Atlus, makes that very possible.

*expect Disgaea's now insane popularity cause it to drop to 20 like most popular games, (PH, makai kingdom...etc)*

but still, Im in for the 75 one since im such a big fan, btw, the main character doesnt look like laharl...

that is because the main character isn't Laharl.
:)

Hell i'll probably get the $65 one and cancel my order from gamestop. I figuire your basically getting art book and soundtrack for free.

In for the $65 one. I really hope NIS only allows 1 per person. I can see these selling out in maybe an hour, but not within the first few minutes like you guys are making it out to be

About the only thing I don't like about DJ's guides are that they're nearly impossible to just leave open since they're so small. Otherwise they're great.

Prima and Brady guides suck! They're always full of mistakes and very unclear at times.
I don't get why people are talking like this is a bad deal or over priced. i mean you are getting extra's for free.
actually, you're paying for the extras...but still...good deals though
actually, you're paying for the extras...but still...good deals though
Not really. I mean if you are getting the more expensive ones then yes but look at it like this.

Your basically paying for the game in the first bundle and recieving a free soundtrack.

The 2nd bundle has you paying for the game and the strategy guide at $15 instead of $20 w/ a free sound track and art book as a bonus.

So its not really paying for the extras.

but this is cag, we are normally able to pay less than full price. I mean at frys the game will likely cost $40 or $45 at best buy with gamer's gift card. sites like amazon will have the guide cheaper than the MSRP. People are buying to get the free stuff when they could easily wait for a price drop for both the game and guide. seeing how phantom brave and makai kingdom droping to $20-30, the same thing could happen with this game. Those free stuff means paying full price instead of waiting.

Yes but that extra stuff will be worth tons of money. Similar to how you could have gotten a normal Arc the Lad for $40 a bit after release but my silly stop watch I got is worth like $15-$20 alone now. Also how I sold my Disgaea 1 guide for like $65 a year after release(and didnt regret it since im in the Double Jump blows donkey balls group).

Anyways, ill pick up the $75 package...but im a bit nervous about them running out of art books. Im gonna be pissed if I put out the money for this and they run out of Art Books. The art book should have been exclusive to the $75 deal.

o_O I just realized I have the scans of the art book in japanese on my laptop...its 44 pages long...has character profiles including characters from disgaea 1 and has a bunch more images

What's the size? The Makai Kingdom Artbook doesn't really fit in line with my other mini double jump books.

So did anyone figure out if the 1,000 artbooks is some kind of typo? It just seems really small espically when it's featured in two packages... their site is going to crash under the pressure of everyone trying to get at one.

This site will have 100 - 200 people alone trying to order a copy.

they probally say

Due to demand we have printed more art books . I hope they limit these to 1 per person. Im coming home from work at 1230 in hopes to get online at 1

sounds like a good deal if you wanted the artbook. btw, is this image (dr mario kart's avatar) from disgaea?
fuck why can't they just scrap the soundtrack on the CD and give the FULL soundtrack to us on a DVD instead or give people a choice between the two. Btw what's the Prinny cursor?
I'm not sure either but if it says DOOD! everytime I double-click I'm gonna have to choke a bitch

Dave

What's the dimension of the LE artbook anyway?

I googled but couldn't find a scan of the artbook. However, it seems that the NTSC/J limited edition comes with the artbook and 2 soundtrack CDs!

Heck! The LE art book is good for visuals only, unless you can understand the profile text in Japanese...

Meh, this sucks. The two bundles come with the guide, which to me is useless. I just want the LE art book and normal preorder bonus.
NIS America describes the art book as a 'Mini Art Book'. Not good.

http://www.nisamerica.com/news/20060711.html
Ya im getting less and less likely to order this. Only 1,000, only a "mini" art book and no one knows if it comes with a special Limited Edition Box. Might just take my $80(after S&H thats how much it would cost)and buy Guitar Hero Bundle.

Everyone complaining about not getting a LE box/2CD set/mini artbook (which is probably what we're getting) like Japan got realize that the LE in Japan for all that cost $95, right?

Also the mini-artbook they're offering here is what Japan got with theirs, we're not getting shafted on that. I'm sure there's probably a Disgaea 2 Artbook out by now, but it would be a totally seperate thing like the Disgaea Character Collection, NOT the pack-in with the LE.

$75 is alot, but look at it this way. If the game turns into a $20 special in 4 months you can buy another copy, and sell it on ebay along with all that extra crap and probably make back your $75 at the minimun.

Yea... I might be passing too. If it was a full fledged art book I might bite, but I'm already getting the game + guide + soundtrack CD at Gamestop as it is. Game + guide are $66 if bought together at Gamestop (thanks to the 20% off the guide when bought with the game), soundtrack is free as a preorder bonus, and after tax it's the same price you'll be paying from NIS for the "gamer pack" + shipping.

Maybe if it was packaged in an LE format, that would definitely be worth it, but I'm not going to frantically try and get my order through for a mini art book which they only have 1,000 of, which still seems like its way too small of a number.

But wait, you get a manual download and a prinny cursor! I have no interest in that stuff.

While it pains me not to be a CAG for once, I loved Disgaea, Disgaea 2 looks awesome, I'm even enjoying the Disgaea Anime.
So, damn you NIS, take my 75+shipping! I surrender!

go 44 page art book which I already have scans for in japanese.....Ill pick it up prolly just the gamer pack since the manga addon seems like regular price

Why can't they jus give us some more info on the bonus stuff? Normally, I expect the free artbooks and stuff to suck but usually they're good (like the ones for Symphonia, Suikoden IV, SCII) but when I pay for it, it had better be damn good.

I can't tell what you want to know with this. You aren't paying for the art book.
