Any team that repeats as champion over and over makes the sport boring. At this point, unless the patsies become mortal and someone beats them, i'm sick of football already, and it's their fault. i don't want to hear about tom brady and the patsies being 16-0 for the next however many years, just like I got sick of them winning superbowls.
They might not buy championships they way steinbrenner does (by throwing money at high skill profile players) but they're still aggravating with shit like spygate and refusing to pay players who deserve it (not all players deserve it, but the only one on their team who makes superstar money is Brady).
Evil. Hands down.
I may like the red sox, but the worst thing about the sox is the fans. The rabid yankee like fans. And the pats have this, but without the sob story of "being cursed".
Patriots suck.
Again, I see what you're saying, but I disagree.
The three times the Pats won, they did it without any real superstars besides Brady, who was coming into his own. The defense has its fair share of great players, but few of them come to mind when people discuss the top defensive players. The same thing could have been said about the offense, until this year.
The best part, for me, is that players like Welker can show how much of a threat they are with a good QB.
I love when people say shit about the games or league being boring, when I doubt anyone would complain if it was their favorite team winning...but I can still understand where they're coming from because competition always makes things more interesting.
Also, about the spygate thing, you know that it's not just the Pats who did that shit, right?
I hope everything I've written doesn't get taken the wrong way, 'cause you know I lub you, frosty.
The Pats haven't won it all in a couple years. I dig the Colts - Pats rivalry and it's even better now that the Colts finally won one in the playoffs. They face off in a few weeks, too. If they are both undefeated it will be unreal.
The Skins (my team) have been one of those teams the past bunch of seasons (really ever since Danny took over) that have underachieved in years people think they are going to be good and overachieved in years when most experts think they don't have a chance at the playoffs (like this year) and end up either just missing or barely making the playoffs. It at least keeps things interesting throughout the season.

Welker is great. Dolphins were NUTS to let him go.
Pats had Branch and Dillon for some of that super bowl magic, but most of their "stars" are on defense. Shrewd moves and all, I just think someone other than brady probably deserves some cash. Pay Asante. Pay Bruschi. Should've paid Branch.
Hell, when the Steelers had a contract expiring with fan favorite Hines Ward, who is just ing awesome anyway, they settled up and paid the man a fair salary according to market value. Pats refuse to do that with anyone save Tom Brady.
It seems kind of like a cult that worships winning up there... suck people in for no money with the promise of a ring... make them buy the company line, and if they don't believe anymore, refuse to pay em and ship em off. And regardless of what Brady says I don't buy that he doesn't want records -- I think he does. I can imagine him saying, "Now that Peyton won a ring, there's no knocks on him anymore. I don't have any records. I need some records." Cue Belichick and the brain trust going out and getting Moss, Welker, Stallworth and anyone else they thought might help Brady throw 73 TDs in a season.
And yes, I'd get tired of the Steelers or the Colts winning it every year, though having them win it in back to back years was ing sweet.
Hey Wubb, what do you think of Jason Campbell? As I'm sure you know, he played at Auburn (my school) and was a good steady QB. Once he settled into the system (hard to do since he had 4 OC in 4 years) he played extremely well. He looked solid on Sunday, just had shitty WRs. You think he's a good fit for the Skins?

Agreed on the defensive players deserving more cash, especially Bruschi and Samuel. I disagree on what you said about Branch because he's not really a superstar receiver moreso than someone like Welker, who I think has shown he is more of a threat...although, Moss and Stallworth definitely have something to do with that.
After how much he's been passing, I can't help but agree on Brady wanting to break Peyton's record, which looks like it could be easy with the guys he has catching the ball.
Well, I could see getting sick of the Pats winning every year, but they haven't now for a few, like Wubb said, and it must be nice to see the Cunts...I mean Colts, finally not choke.

At first I figured he'd be another crappy QB that would quickly be shuffled out or sat down in favor of yet another fresh draft pick next year. Frankly I would have preferred going back to Brunnel at the top of this year.
But he's definitely shown enough that I'm pretty excited about him going forward. He screws up too of course, the one that really sticks with me is a game early in the season where he had a wide open Moss (I'm talking 5 yards open!) for a TD to ice the game and badly missed. But he's also made some really sweet throws.
Maybe if he sticks Danny won't be tempted to use the top draft pick on a new QB every other year...
Yay for Target discount?
Nope, Gamestop actually. I traded in the Wii, DS, and a bunch of games and ended up with $520. I figured I could get 8 or so 360 games or get that triple. Triple sounded like a better idea. I'm willing to bet that with the sheer amount of games coming out in the next 2 months we're gonna see some crazy fast price drops on games, even the good ones.
someone must have been looking at massive amounts of porn on my computer last night. They totally cleared out all the search history and all my bookmarks are ing gone. This is bullshit.

Why the Tablet PC? Gateway seems like a decent enough system.
That's the one. The Tablet would be for school, notebook would be a backup for my desktop and general use (possibly for work). The Tablet is beneficial because I'd like to get into working with digital media (at this point I only draw tradish) and my shitty little Wacom tablet isn't cutting it. Plus I like to take a lot of notes, and having a tablet computer to do so on seems like a neat idea.
I doubt I'd buy both at once (unless a charitable CAG wants to chip in for some physical repayment ), and I've been planning on the Gateway for a while. It went down in price, which rocks. It was like $650 a couple days ago. Good thing I waited to buy it otherwise I'd be pissed.
I hope that CC BOGO works for my friend. If it does, I might have to go nab a few things (I don't want to spend the money, but shit like Robocop, first blood, usual suspects, and departed are calling my name).

You'd need to put some memory in it to make it more usable, and even then, it's a weak system.
I'm a Sox fan and have been forever as it's my birth-right, but I'm a much bigger Pats/football fan.
I can watch any football game that's on but I cannot do that with baseball anymore.
Even though I'm a Yankees fan I have no problem watching Sox games. If nothing else is on I'll watch any old team as long as they're not NL games. For some reason they bore the hell out of me.
On the other hand, I have a real hard time watching any football.
I just told my friend about that new triple. BC is meaningless to him since he has a PS2 and doesn't play it. He said he is going to nab one in the next few weeks (just got an HD-DVD drive so he has to get some money first). That triple just keeps picking up the steam baby.
Are they just going to make a saw moive every holloween? Its not really all that great in the first place but I could have sworn that all of the people died in the last one.

Yeah? Shoot. Well the problem with saving up for a really modern one is that they're all notebook/tablets with that dumbass swiveling screen. I'd be worried about breaking it.. I'd want a tablet that's just a tablet. Just a straight in screen with some buttons and inputs.
After the catastrophe that was my IBM laptop that I bought last month, I'm trying to go for quality, rather than frugality. :I ing T23's been turned into a neutered desktop, all hooked up to a CRT/Mouse/Keyboard like that.
Teaches me to carry a laptop in a backpack full of books, though.

Pretty much all of them these days are convertible models, for the new stuff. They're actually more sturdy/robust that the Fujitsu Stylistic one you put up there on eBay. They're going to be much more money than that one, yes, though they're going to be a much better/faster machine. Pentium III 800MHz won't work that great with XP, even if you bump it up to 768MB of RAM. As long as you didn't expect much out of it, then it would work OK, though you really need to either take it to 512MB or 768MB of RAM.
Damn, my grandma threw out 3 cases of soda that she brought sunday because we didn't drink them all sunday afternoon. My god I am so angry. Now all I have to drink is water or room temp soy milk.
Damn I am bored....but I dont know what I want to do.
Fifa 08?
Nba 2k8?
Play guitar (real not guitar hero)
Or hell....play guitar hero.
I need to watch 1408 and The Eye but I like to watch horror movies at night.
But I am very tempted to try to find a funding to buy The Orange Box. Then figure out a way for my girlfriend to not punch me in the head for buy even more video games instead of saving money.

Shrike: Yeah, I guess you're right. Thanks for the insight. I'll go look around the deals forum to see if there's any free shipping coopins for Newegg..

If you're planning to use it as your primary machine, that tablet PC won't do it. I'd stick to the Gateway and go with that as your primary machine.
I'd suggest checking with GW to see what they'd offer as an extended warranty on it, as it comes with 90 days only out of the box.
Might also check to see if Dell's outlet store has anything you might want as well, as they tend to have some diamonds in the rough.
Beat Chapter 2 of Folklore with both Ellen and Keats, about 4.5 hours into the game. Loving it so far, though Ellen's parts are a little tougher than Keat's part.
