Free shiny versions of the three Pokemon (also with special moves) will be available in the new year at GameStop. Raikou from Jan 3-9, Entei from Jan 17-23, and Suicune from Jan 31-Feb 6. In addition, Toys R Us will be distributing Ash's Pikachu from Jan 30-Feb 13. Then, GameStop will again be offering another download (non-shiny Celebi) from Feb 21-March 6.

Celebi can also be had at the Pokemon Mall Tour, and the Legendary Beasts are currently being redistributed over NWFC.

Via Nintendo WiFi connection (yay for not having to go to a store), the first DLC for Pokemon Black & White will be made available in the form of the new psychic & fire type Pokemon, Victini. You will not be able to download Victini directly. It will be an item called a "Liberty Pass" that you'll be able to download via Nintendo WiFi connection, and this item will eventually trigger the unlocking of Victini in the game. The Liberty Pass will be available for download from March 6th-April 10th.

Also, something to note for those who plan on transfering:
There are two methods to migrate Pokemon from Diamond, Peal, Platinum, Heart Gold, and Soul Silver to Black and White: The PokeTransfer (http://serebii.net/blackwhite/pokeshifter.shtml) and the Transfer Machine (http://serebii.net/blackwhite/transfermachine.shtml). The PokeTransfer is use to migrate all of your regular Pokemon to Black and White and is accessible only after completing the game. The Transfer Machine is used for migrating the Event Pokemon Raikou, Entei, Suicune, and Celebi and is available only after telling a special phrase to a character in Castelia City.

If you transfer the Event Rikou, Entei, Suicune, or Celebi through the PokeTransfer they will NOT unlock the Zorua and Zoroark Events.

I picked up 2 ash's pikachu's today. Lvl 50 off the bat, nice!

I wonder if you breed em if they keep the stats and movesets?
If you breed them, the Pikachu will pass Volt tackle, because it's an egg move. All other moves Ash's Pikachu can be learned by other Pikachu through leveling up or TMs. The stats would be different.
Is this pikachu much better then a wild pikachu? Other then it having ash in it's name.
If you bother with soft resetting for good IV's or RNG for them then they would most likely have better stats than a randomly fresh caught Pikachu, otherwise it's not really worth getting Ash's Pikachu (unless TRU has some freebies ;)) in my opinion, you could just breed a Pikachu on your own and get the same moves, only thing is that because it has Volt Tackle, you can breed other Pikachu with Volt Tackle easier if you didn't access to a Light Ball.
Is this pikachu much better then a wild pikachu? Other then it having ash in it's name.
It's also got an event-exclusive ribbon stuck to it that you couldn't otherwise obtain, which I think is pretty sweet.

is this thing actually called "Ash's Pikachu"? or does it just say that on the wondercard. i mean really..."RED sent out ASH's PIKACHU!"...wtf?

Stopped by TRU and snagged Pikachu on my 3 carts yesterday.

Lucked out and got a clearance copy of Prinny also :D

Going to be stopping by gamestop today or tomorrow to snag Suicune.

Crud.

So, TRU and GS are about 50 miles away (one-way). And with all the snow we (might be) getting, I might have to hope I can make it down there late this week.

My GF and I are gonna stop by TRU and FailStop to get these. Maybe I can get the turn turn the DS clock back to get the Entei we misssed.

I'm seeing a lot of people here saying they may not be able to get them due to weather or distance. I can give you any of the events (don't have Suicune at the moment though) for next to nothing.

Well today was a pretty good day.

Got some taco bell for lunch.
Went to Toys R Us and just stood right outside it and got my pikachu.
Went to the mall and stood in the door and was able to get Suicune from there.
Went to Best Buy and got a 1600 point card for 17.99 no tax.

But then i went to the dentist and had to get a cavity filled boo.

No its just PIKACHU.

Stats are:
Lvl. 50
Naughty Nature
Carrying a lightball
Moves are: Volt Tackle, Iron Tail, Quick Attack, Thunderbolt.

Suicune
Stats:
Lvl. 30
Relaxed Nature
Carrying a rowap berry
Moves are: Sheer Cold, Air Slash, Extreme Speed, Aqua Ring.

Picked up my Suicune today before the major snow fall. Didn't get a chance to get to Toys R Us yet, hopefully I'll be able to soon. But at least I got the more important one IMO.

Picked Suicune and Pikachu up today. The guy at Gamestop said Nintendo's doing an event for all three legendary beasts for 3 days next month. He wasn't totally sure about the dates, but he said probably February 15-17.

Gotta love knowing Gamestop employee's. Got all of the Gamestop Legendary's already, gonna go pick up that Pikachu tommorow. (Hopefully the TRU here has it, since its the only one in a 40+ mile radius)

Yea, I wasted a drive out to TRU today. Didn't pick-up the Pikachu, and was no signage or anything about there being an event. Didn't see a DS around that would have been used. Employees (only two I could find in the area) were unaware of anything. :(

Luckily found some Halo figures I liked at Target, along with Highbrow.

There are ways to get these without having to go to the events. They've been posted in this thread. basically you just change the dns in your wifi settings and it'll get you the event pokemon.

There's also going to be a european event with the 3 shiny beasts that U.S. players can access.

I got my Suicunes today. My DSi freaked out on me early but it started to work properly. I have no idea what happened. I plan on getting the Pikachus tomorrow.

I can't wait for Celebi though. It's the only Pokemon they've never nationally distributed here.

The new ones with Carter and Kat? I've been searching for those figures but apparently they've only been released online.

Not Kat, but did get Carter.

Yeah, I did see that.

As stupid as it may sound...I would really prefer getting them the "official" way. Even if there's no difference in them, it would still bother me a bit, ya know?

I've been using exploits in pokemon games since the originals, so it doesn't really bother me. In fact, it wouldn't feel like a pokemon game if there weren't some way to exploit the game.

This. In virtually all of my Red/Blue playthroughs ive done the cerulean city Mew trick. It's the only way to get it in-game, and honestly it's just not wise to pass up the chance at a powerful psychic type that early in the game.

Yes! This needs a new thread, nao. Celebiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Celebi will unlock the whole Giovanni story, as well as getting you Zorua when you trade it over to B/W, and is obtainable in D/P/PT/HG/SS. Will we also get Manaphy in the near future? I'm glad they finally decided to catch the US up on the Japanese events.
just a little edit, the Ash's Pikachu event ends THIS Saturday February 5th. so you gotta hurry if you want it
EDIT: serebii.net just posted that the Celebi event will begin on February 21 and end on March 6th. http://serebii.net/index2.shtml
Hmmm, the promo standee I saw at TRU yesterday had a much later end date, like the 13th or something like that.
The new ones with Carter and Kat? I've been searching for those figures but apparently they've only been released online.
My gamestop has those figures. I saw them yesterday when I went to go buy a couple old sports games. I also completely forgot to take my DS with me :bomb:

It is okay though cuz I have to go pick up my Two Worlds II Royal Bundle today so I will just grab Suicune after lunch today. :D

Ok so I drove up to TRU to grab the Ash Pikachu and it said that I didn't have any room for another Wonder Card. I have 4 Pokemon on there now. A low level Squirtle that I started the game with and the first 3 GS promo Pokemon from this Promotion. I should be able to grab this one right? I should be allowed to download all 5 promo Pokemon? Do I need to play more to get something? Not sure what I should do?
You just delete Wonder Cards until you have less than 3.
So I won't loose the Pokemon by deleting the Wonder Card as long as I got him from the man in green from the Pokemart and saved the game?

^Yeah you just go into the mystery gift menu, check cards, and then trash some. You have to have already received the gift to be able to trash the card.

Really? I have a terrible memory, but I know I had 386/386 legit. Ohh, that must've been why I send a couple games to this girl in the UK. I knew her from the ign pokemon board and she was going to be in Japan and I guess during a giveaway. No, I think that was Deoxys. Where did I get Celebi?

Today was fun at work. I was in RZone a little, but I kept going over there to talk to the people dl'ing the pikachu. This one lady basically needed me to do it for 3 of her son's games. So I basically got to play pokemon on the clock for a while, lol. Actually, I got 2 of mine on the clock too. I saw her son had an Arceus & I wanted to trade it to my game & then trade it back so I can GTS it. I still need one of those.

Was Celebi the second of the rares? (Mew being the first.) Or, was Jirachi somewhere between the two?

I remember going to the mall tours back in '99/2000 to get some Mew's. I thought they did a similar mall tour for one of the next rares? Is that where it could've came from?

I should go dig out my Red/Yellow/Gold/Silver carts.

OOO thanks guys I got it. I haven't played Pokemon since the OG Gameboy (maybe 13 years ago??) and don't have experience with event Pokemon, even though I have wanted to grab them for a few decades now lol

Diamond, Pearl and Platinum won't let you delete a card until you've picked up the gift (the option isn't available), but apparently HeartGold and SoulSilver will let you.

Celebi was the only event Pokemon for the 2nd generation. Jirachi and Deoxys were event Pokemon for the 3rd generation.

I don't believe Celebi was released in the US for the 2nd gen games, the only US release I'm aware of was for the GBA during the 2006 Journey Across America tour.

It was Mew first, then Celebii. Jirachi was easy to get. All you needed to do was pre-order pokemon collosseum when it came out for the GC and you got a disc and a GC to gba link cable. This allowed you to have a infinite of jirachi.

Yep I still have my Colosseum bonus disc. Come to think of it, I think I trades one of my many Jirachi's for some kid's Celebi & that's how I completed my pokedex while we were in line at the TRU Mew giveaway. He'd gotten it from the JAA tour. Thanks for clarifying that and jogging my memory.

So did they explain exactly how we use these 3 legendaries to get Zoroark in Black & White?
I missed Entei (but got the other 2), does it mean I won't be getting Zoroark?

So I see a lot of talk about changing DNS settings to obtain the event pokemon you don't have. Does anyone know where they have those settings for Entei and Raikou? I can go get Suicune and Pikachu today but I missed the first two legendarys. Unless someone has a couple spares on here they'd be willing to give away:D

You should be able to get Raikou and Entei next month. Nintendo is doing a WFC release for Europe, and English language carts in the US should be able to download them.

Any fellow NYC nerds have any luck with the TRU download? I went to TImes Square, but couldn't find a signal, and as I didn't see any signs about it, didn't bother asking. Anyone try Caesar's Bay? I can get there, but it's a pain, so I didn't want to waste the trip. And if anyone has an extra legit Arceus to trade, I missed that one, again because of TRU in Times Square slacking.

The event pokes are on a special DS cart. The Gamestop ppl put the card in a regular DS and if the date is set correctly you can get the appropriate event Poke.

To get ones you missed, the clock on the stores DS, with the event cart in it, has to have its date reset.

So if your tight with someone in the store, they may reset the clock for you, or let you do it. Or they may tell you no way and Nintedoes will kill them if they do that. YMMV.

I was planning to hit the Times Square TRU to do this. I figured theres no way their flagship store wont have the event Pokes.

Did you ask someone at the videogame section in the basement?
Nope. Celebi is the very last event Pokemon for 4th Gen. By the time Celebi's event is done, 5th Gen will be on its way.

And you only need one of the three legendary beasts in order to get to Zoroark: http://serebii.net/blackwhite/transfermachine.shtml#zoroark
I'm pretty sure Japan had a Manaphy distribution for D/P/Pt/HG/SS, it may happen for Gen 4 games after B + W comes out, they don't just abandon the generation immediately, HG/SS only came out a year ago. :/

Didn't ask, but walked all around that section looking for a signal. Supposedly they stopped transmitting Arceus because the card got hacked to give out a Gengar with an offensive name, and I thought that could have happened again. Please post here and let me know either way after you go. I tried calling them, but got sick of trying to navigate the switchboard.

The Arceus cart wasn't hacked, and that time it wasn't a Gengar. Someone was distributing a different Pokemon (Jynx, Nosepass and/or Probopass) with their own DS and a hacked ROM of an event cart. If your game picked up the person's signal first, you got that Pokemon instead of the Arceus.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/946308-pokemon-platinum-version/52134262

The "racist Gengar" was given out at the Platinum release party at the Nintendo World Store (not far from the Times Square TRU). Same deal with a hacked event ROM, except Nintendo wasn't distributing anything at the time.
