They need to get a fucking clue and add Channel ID support for WEP encrypted networks. I can't get my fucking PSP to connect to the net because I DON'T USE the default channel. I swear, sometimes Sony reminds me of a snail.
crap... I have a 2.6 and don't want to upgrade yet... aww hell... I already downloaded it even... anyone who has upgraded already plz comment on how it is.
nvm... i realized I was going to upgrade for a bunch of upcomming games anyway, so i'm going ahead... I'll post my thoughts in a bit.

everything is slightly better... loco roco is amazing though.

I say only upgrade if you plan on buying some UMD gams comming out soon, but if not, i suggest waiting.

oddly enough I think the biggest plus is the fact that the webpages don't take forver to load anymore.
I've heard if you update to 2.7, you'll no longer be able to do homebrew via the GTA glitch.
I'm sure they'll fix that...eventually.

is this the japan fw that is availible? or is it the us?

there must be some kind of differentce if sony says not to use it on a us system. does it matter?

nevermind, i found it, but loco roco works on it eh?

decided to upgrade from 2.0 to 2.7. I didnt really ever play the emus anymore and I want to play new games like syphon filter. Sony seems to be killing the scene anyway pretty badly.

plus my girlfriend's PSP is still on 1.5 heh

Just loaded loco roco, title screen makes the perfect screensaver ;) It's so cute

whats the point of the locoroco game? I don't understand what to do. After a while, it said I finished with 2/20 yellow things, 2xx/5xx red things and 0/3 black bug things. with a score of 39xx is this good? could someone explain the game to me?

all I'm going to say is do your research on the game. THe plot and goal of the game is very very very simple.

After playing the game a few times I can see why the press is worried it might not have a lasting appeal. Really though, I get the strong feeling that the demo is only the tip of the iceberg. Also, the minimal amount of space this game took on the memory stick prooves that the dev team has no worries about UMD capacity.

Apparently Sony has patched the GTA exploit permanently. So says the maker of the exploit and EdisonCarter (the GTA cheatdevice maker) I guess cheat device no longer works too.

I'm not really enjoying the emu's so much anymore but I don't know, decisions decisions.

LoL I don't know about you guys but i'm luving loco roco, it's so damn cute. The blobs are frickin adorable. When you split them and idle them they do all sorts of things. They try to stack on each other haha and it's amusing just watching.

so i jut ordered a PSP, so the newer ones will have fw 2.5 or 2.6 right? so i cant play homebrew games with that version? would it still be possible with GTA:LC and the 2.6/2.6 version?

Most people are now aware that the v2.7 firmware has been released by Sony. We've been getting a lot of questions about it, so here's a quick FAQ:
Homebrew does not work on v2.7. The GTA exploit is thoroughly patched, and the TIFF exploit is still patched. If you like homebrew, DO NOT UPGRADE.
We have no idea when homebrew will be available on v2.7. We need a whole new exploit, which could take some time. In our opinion (shared with EdisonCarter) there is no future for the GTA exploit on v2.7.
LocoRoco is an encrypted, signed EBOOT. The only way to run homebrew in the same way is to get Sony's encryption key and sign the homebrew. That's not going to be possible in our lifetime.
There could well be an exploit to be found in all the new function, e.g. flash player, AAC support, etc. We're not actively working on one.
There might be an exploit to be found in another game. We're not actively working on one.
There's no truth in the rumour that v2.7 has made us angry, and that we're going to work on an ISO loader as revenge.
The LocoRoco demo REQUIRES v2.70, even if you hack the PARAM.SFO in the EBOOT. It's pretty cool, but there's homebrew that's cooler.
Once again, the most important point: If you don't think that slow support for an old version of Macromedia Flash, and support for the very latest games, is worth trading for homebrew for the next few months - then DO NOT UPGRADE.

Ok, I figured you can tilt the screen right and left with the shoulder buttons, and split the rolly polys. How do you get them back 'together'? Any other directions?

hold circle
WHAT THE fuck am I doing here? The music sure is fun though!
I've had the music stuck in my head all day and I'm enjoying it alot while it drives me insane.

The only controls I know are holding either L or R to tilt the screen, holding L and R will make them jump, tapping O will split them up and holding O will put them back together. What are the other controls?

fianlly passed that level. i kept trying to go up the hil with the spiked tetter totter. i wonder if the japanese text lets on any more info.

Ok I love the cuteness and the design but some aspects of control and level design are REALLY pissing me off, like throw your PSP into the damn wall. Near the end section there is a secret compartment where you have to jump up a series of Circle platforms. I tried for 30 mins straight with no luck and It drove me frickin insane. I made it up once but fell back down. The control scheme is innovative but you have a incredible lack of control in precise situations required in that part which leads to immense fustration. It's near the level of those crappy grinders in God of War......... except patience can't really help at all considering the surface of the circles are round and gravity has quite an effect on a fatass locoroco.

i must have missed that one. i had no problems with the rest of the level though.

i have never been a "gett 100% on everything" kind of person. so if i failed at something like that, i would just move on, which is probably why i never saw that part.

Yeah that shit is too hard. I would not give this game to a kid under any circumstances. I got to the third midget guy but I couldn't get the fruit on the other side. I wish X acted as a jump button instead of both triggers sometimes. In tricky situations where precise timing and jumping is required it's extremely hard to get around. And since the room is really at an angle for you to fall down back to the normal path, it sucks hard.

To get to the room from hell, make your way to the roating trampoline (you use three non-rotating ones to make it to this one) near the end of the stage (past the moon and before the giant flowers). Once you get to it, wait for it to aim at the ceiling/wall to your left. There is a nook in the wall/cieling that looks like it's big enough for your blob to fit on top of the ledge and roll through. Launch yourself in and you'll be smack dab in the middle of the room with crazy pinball like bouncers.

Good Luck.
I put some more time into it and it slowly becomes second nature. I just think that after 2 or 3 times of playing the controls feel right at home.
Yeah I was just about to come back to say that.

Like you play it once, get stuck.

Play it again, get past what you were stuck on, and get stuck at something else.

wash, rinse, repeat.

I know where all 20 giant strawberries are, the three little men, and the majorty of the flying fruit with glasses things. I keep missing 5 of those. Is there some hidden Orange one that I'm missing?

EDIT: And does the blob speak in japanese? It keeps saying things when you get close to secrects (and it also looks at where he secrect is while changing it's antennae into an exclamation point).

That part pissed me off as well.

I'm loving the game, but I'm kind of confused as to what I'm supposed to do with that giant blob thing that is sleeping, do I do anything?

How do you add RSS Channels? I've never messed with them before, but I want the CagCast and some other Podcasts on there.

Lol you mean the moon? just wait there and you'll see.

Are you talking about the Loco Roco blobs or the actual Moon in the stage, where if you wait there the blob explodes itself and the Moon wakes up revealing a previously inaccessable area?

Ok...I'm irked I downloaded the firmware update, rebooted enabled the silly thing and went to the loco roco website and it tells me the site cant be displayed and wants me to download flash o_O. Oddly when I go to it on my computer using mozilla it pulls up fine apparently IEs flash player isnt compatable with the site. So does anyone have a direct link to the download since mozilla keeps blocking the popup and wont allow it even when I put it on my allowed list and IE wont let me view it at all.

Yeah, I finally got the damn guy but I gave up on the damn fruit on the other side. This part just drove me crazy. I'm not usually a 100% kind of person but if I find a damn secret area I want the damn secret! lol

This game would benifit immensely if they could make a tilt sensor for it. U'd look like a retard playing but it'd be way more intuitive.
