FAQ:
How do I get those sticky yellow EB stickers off my case?
Buy a bottle of Goo Gone. They're usually $5 or less. They last forever and are a good purchase if you buy lots of used games. You can find them at drug stores or places like Wal Mart.

The bottle looks like this:

When is the EBgames morning update?
Usually between 7am and 7:30am eastern time, Monday through Friday. There are no updates on some holidays.

How do I know the update happened?
The number of in stock games will drop to zero, then rise back up. This takes less than a minute.

I had game X in my cart, but it disappeared while I was checking out. What happened?

Someone else beat you to it. Just because an item is in your cart, doesn't mean it's reserved for you until you finish checking out.

How do you know how many copies of game X are in stock?
When the item is in your cart, change the quantity to a large number (like 99). When the page refreshes, the quantity will be reduced to the number available.

Are there any coupons I could use to save money?
CAG15 gives you 15% off used merchandise.
CAG16 gives you 16% off $50 or more worth of used merchandise.
SAVER gives you free shipping on orders containing used games and accessories. For some reason, Gameboy games do not work with SAVER.

14.99 bc

anyone notice Diablo's price was actually reduced? Now 12.99, used to be 24.99.
And yet still not worth it. Also, Rival Schools seems too expensive now IMO. During the summer it was only $9.99 BC, now its $14.99.

Also, if you want an absolutely crap-tastic PSX fighting game, then grab Killing Zone. Its so bad that even Gamepro gave it a 0.5 out of 5. (The lowest anything can get on their scale).
don't get that game.. its a terrible strategy game that has nothing to do (outside of names and mana) with magic the gathering.. don't get it.. you'll be disappointed.
Well, it is the best Magic game outside of MTGO that you can get. Its fast paced and the single player is challenging as you must earn new cards thru battling vs buying like MTGO. That and its a bit hard to come by nowadays, which is why I picked it for today. But I understand its not for everyone :D

I'd go for battlegrounds.. for the xbox/pc as a better game.. the graphics for this game are terrible.. and it doesn't play like the card game like MTGO does.. you really honestly can't compare this game with the software of MTGO. Sometimes rare games are terrible, thats why they are rare. Its a very terrible strategy game at best, it doesn't exlemplify the MTG licenese (actually a Jap. DC version, not of this game, but of a MTG game, plays exactly like MTG and was never brought over.. i wonder why)

if you want a truely cheap MTG experience that is true to the card game get the duels of the planeswalker game.. it plays like the card game and you quest for more cards. This game is a disappointment for MTG fans. If you are a fans of a simple conquest game mixed with a strategy-esque game then its worth an hour, but you'll get board of it quick. If I rememebr right all you do is spawn a creature it goes to attack rinse repeat.

MTGO, is a totally different breed of dog. Comparing this game to the vastness of MTGO is crazy. MTGO is meant for people wanting to play the traditional card game online. The reason why you have to buy cards is that is the nature of the traditional card game. I love MTGO. But you can't compare any console MTG (except for the japanese one) to the traditional game.

If you are looking for a free way to play the traditional MTG game online try searching "apprentice" or "magic workstation" on google. Those offer free software where you can make your own decks and play online. They are inferior to MTGO though, but if you're cheap and don't want to pay they are great alternatives (they also have websites devoted to leagues and tourneys too).

These are all good games... but considering the condition these have been arriving in - anything over a dollar is a rip off.

One of the Motor Toons I ordered last month had a Movie Gallery CD guard, a barcode sticker on top of that, and was 'buffed' down so far it would only pick it up as an audio cd. The other I ordered had brown crap smeared all over and looked like it was pulled off of the 'buffer' while it was still being buffed.

Same story with 'Irritating Stick'. I know they say no manual or artwork included... but at least the game should be in decent shape. This one looked like it had cum smeared all over the bottom, baked in an oven for an hour and then topped with two yellow barcode stickers. I had to clean it with dish soap twice before it would even boot.

LMFAO!!!

I hear you on the conitions of the games tho... I was pumped one day when I managed to grab Powerstone 2 in the morning update, but when I got it, it had a blockbuster disc shield on it and would not boot up for anything. Laltely even complete PS2 games have been giving me trouble. I had to return Capcom Fighting Evolution cos it crashed every other match, and now I have a copy of SSX on tour which crashes every race or two. Its a freakin 3 month old game for chrissakes! Its come down to the point where I only buy super cheep (under $5) games for older systems off of EB's site. Cos Theres no way Im paying $10 or more for a disc only game in the condition that youve described.

A must own GB platformer, and only $5.99 b/c
sorry man.. just didn't want people screwed on thinking they were getting a traditional magic game as i did (bought it with my playstation brand new..) so yeah.. heh.. i agree.. great platformer.

Put a puppy inside your Nintendo DS! In this game choose from Labrador Retriever, Miniature Schnauzer, Toy Poodle, Corgi, Miniature Pinscher or Shiba!

i think you could go to jail if you tried to stuff a puppy into your DS :)
Phoenix Wright came complete and mint, too bad it was a bootleg
You gotta love the hapless EB employee who wasn't trained well enough to recognize the difference.

It actually bothers me that we, a gaming community, tend to know much more about games and everything relevant to gaming than the people who actually make a living selling them. Then again, having that sort of knowledge is rather exhilirating.

Damn, I just realized how nerdy I sound. :whistle2:#

I hadn't realized that DS bootlegs were even an issue at this point in time. What are the distinctions? Serial numbers, Nintondo?

It's interesting, it really is. In a lot of the EBs I frequent there are plenty of people who happen to be gamers. As such, it's a sickeningly rare occurance when they sell a bootleg GBA game or even accept one. Other places end up with a staggering amount of bootlegs, mostly because they tend to hire non-gamers for the holiday season or non-gamers to work some tricky hours. But these are just occurances in the stores I frequent. Sometimes something will slip under the radar just because. I've known one EB that sold The Mechsmith for a while, and that was a PS2 import. Why that game out of all of the imports in the world is beyond me but I guess some import-crazy fan was selling off his collection. Even stranger was that apparently the label said that it was a legitamite PO title. Crazy!

Seconded. I got mine today, as well. It all looks real to me. Cart says Nintendo with sticker and everything. Damn bootleggers can lick my boots!
I'm comparing the Phoenix Wright card with my Dawn of Sorrow one and can't find a clear difference
So... how do you know it's a bootleg? Something in the game itself?

When I turn on the DS I get the message "no DS card inserted."
When I turn on the DS I get the message "no DS card inserted."
I had the same message with my Phoenix Wright cart as well, not to mention my Mario Kart DS, but considering that Phoenix Wright was completely sealed and was absolutely new and fresh off of the shelf, and since the Mario Kart DS came with my Nintendo DS, I'm assuming that my games just weren't inserted in the right way or something of the ilk.

I still have the same problem with Phoenix Wright every once in a while but, for the most part, my copy is legit. There's really nothing to suggest otherwise, unless EB themselves are starting to get new copies of games from very shady places...

Yeah I don't think its a bootleg. I've had this happen to me a couple of time...I just had to pop the game out and re-insert it (sometimes a few times) and it worked fine. Not sure why the problem is occuring, but it shouldn't be happening more than once and a while. If it does, then maybe your cart (or system) is broken?

My PO Guitar Hero finally arrived today, complete like everyone else has gotten. The guitar was still in the plastic bag, the game is in perfect condition, stickers still sealed. The only problem is that the Post Office was kind enough to smash the box and it crushed the GH packaging and ripped the sleeve for the storage box.
Can't wait to hook it up and play!
