Fantasy Football "Who should I start?" thread, Lockout is Over Version

Dammit! Lost out on getting the Seattle D. Even worse, they were picked up by my opponent for the opening round of the playoffs! Right now I've got JAX and TENN. The Jags play TB but are so beat up on defense I don't think I can trust running them out there again. The Titans play the Saints so that's a no go as Brees puts up an ass ton of points every week.

Of these 3 RBs.....who should I play?

Bradshaw @ Dallas
Benson @ Houston
McGahee @ Chicago

My guts telling me to go with Bradshaw....but I dunno. At least I still get to keep playing Michael Bush.....I thought he was gonna be benched this week, but it looks like McFadden isn't coming back for a few weeks (if at all).

Check out New England (probably gone) or Miami (risk/reward, but probably still available). Arizona should still be there too (but has very limited upside).

If your gut says Bradshaw, go with him. He's your best option assuming he has recovered from his injury and the coach puts him back into his feature back role.

Palmer is @ GB
Sanchez at home against KC
Ben is at home against CLE
Tebow at home against CHI

I'd definitely go with Ben at home.

I am in almost the same boat except replace Tebow and Sanchez w/ Vick. I've been leaning towards going with Ben as well.

the NE defense is gone. Miami & Arizona were available. I dropped JAX and grabbed AZ.

My next decision is going to be which of my horrible selection of WRs to start:

I have to start 3:
DHB, G.Tate, L.Robinson, R. Meachem, DJAX, or D.Thomas. I hate to run DJAX out there because he's such a turd but I don't have anything better. My though was L.Robinson, DJAX, and G. Tate since he's supposed to be the new #1 in Seattle w/ Rice out and will have a good matchup.

Also at TE. J.Gresham, B.Celek, or Ballard?

I completely agree - not even a debate really.

My roster to open the playoffs.

QB Aaron Rodgers
WR Brandon Marshall
WR Wes Welker
WR Torrey Smith
RB CJ Spiller
RB DeAngelo Williams
TE Heath Miller
K Dan Bailey
DEF San Francisco
--
TE Ed Dickson
RB Marion Barber
RB James Starks
WR Malcom Floyd
RB Toby Gerhart
WR Steve Breaston

My RB's have been a rotating cavalcade based on matchups, so I ask you; for week 14, who do I start?

Williams vs ATL
Spiller @ SD
Barber @ DEN
Starks vs OAK
Gerhart @ DET

Damn, it's such a crap shoot with the RBs in Carolina. I'm thinking Spiller and the Barbarian.

Playoffs round 1.....Pittsburgh's D at home against Cleveland tonight....or San Fran at Ariz on Sunday? I love the Pittsburgh match-up, but San Fran has been golden for me all year. What do you think?

@ WR, DJAX and Robinson are the easy picks. For the last spot, either DHB or Tate. I give the edge to DHB because of the matchup against the Packers. You can't guarantee that Palmer will look his way, but the opportunities will be there.

@ TE, none of them are really a lock for a good day, so I'd go with Gresham as the one most likely to get a TD.

Gerhart (if Peterson is out) and Spiller. Otherwise, it's a gamble between Williams and Barber. I'd probably go with Barber in his first game as Chicago's feature back.

That's pretty much a no-lose situation. Pick the one you like better. I'd go with SF because they're essentially a stud this season.

I have the same "problem" on defense with Pitt and SF. I decided to go with Pitt tonight. As good as SF has been this year, Cleveland's offense looked totally inept against Baltimore last week. At the very least, the Cardinals have a few weapons on offense and have the potential to do something.

Yeah, I think I am taking the exact same route for the exact same reasons. Hope It doesn't bite me in the ass:booty:

Ben. Cleveland's got Haden to cover Wallace, but there's plenty of weapons for Ben to throw to.

It appears Peterson at least practiced this week so that may rule out Gerhart. Good thing is that Spiller and Barber play late Sunday so I'll have time to swap one in if need be.

That's true, but the Browns absolutely cannot stop the run, so who knows how much Pittsburgh will actually have to throw.

Um...yeah...so I open my big mouth, and the Browns just marched the fucking ball down the field like the greatest offense on earth...smh...

Hmmmm, very small decision to make, but it's playoff time, so every move counts. I'd love any opinions. Trying to decide who to start as my #3 receiver: TB Mike Williams vs. Jax or Damian Williams vs. NO. Williams has finally played played better the last 3 weeks, but I figure the Titans will probably be blown out and have to throw the ball around early and often.

I would take Tampa Bay Mike Williams if it were me. He's the #1 guy and he seems to be coming on strong down the stretch.

How about my WR situation?
Which three of the following craptastic guys should I start?

DHB, DJAX, G.Tate, L.Robinson, Demaryius Thomas.

Miles Austin is supposed to be back for Dallas so that will impact Robinson's production. DJAX has done nothing and Maclin is back.

I think I have settled on my defense. I think I will roll with Miami hoping they will get Vick to turn it over. Still having trouble deciding on WRs:

DJax, G.Tate, DHB, L.Robinson, D.Thomas, or could possibly pick up Meachem.

Oakland has lots of injuries at WR and faces a weak GB defense so DHB might have a big day. We all know the story on DJax. With Miles Austin back L.Robinson might see a reduction in his targets or could possibly be helped having Miles on the field to occupy the defense. Golden Tate is supposed to be the #1 WR with Rice out and has a favorable matchup.
Wow, I picked Helu up for a buck in my league lol. Another big game so far. I'm sure Shanny will lose his mind, though, and decide to start someone else soon.
I'm playing against that guy in my wild card matchup so he's certainly not helping me out. Also thanks so much KC for doing absolutely nothing to stop Greene.

SOB.....I should have started the Jags D.oh well./ Im down by 40 pts but I've got my kicker, Llyod, Seattl's D, Davis, and Jennings left to play. They have Denver's D, and Murray left to play

Who knew Moss would have such a good game?

I'll be rooting for you.. since I have Lloyd, Seattle's D, and Davis as well.
Okay so I'm up 35 and he has Victor Cruz and Demarco Murray. What are my chances?
You're in a similar position as I am. If I wasn't such an idiot I would have a much bigger lead but I've got a 33 pt lead. I can start either L.Robinson or G.Tate as my final player. My opponent has Romo, Nicks, and Seattle D. Any chance I can hold my lead?

I know, not very likely. Also anyone have any input on which of my final two WRs I should start? I like Robinson but he's banged up and Austin is back. G.Tate has a good matchup but is a complete crap shoot.

EDIT: Here's rooting for "Bad Romo" tonight.

Murray and Jennings hurt, Finley put up a goose egg. Even if Manning and Nicks hook up for two TDs in the second half so I can win, I'm dead in the water next week.

I was living on borrowed time after losing Charles and Fred Jackson, so I guess I'll take solace in knowing that I had the most points in the league by a wide margin after my elimination.

I won by 30 because of the demarco injury and Cruz falling short. On to the championship!

Maaaaauriiiiiiice Joooooones Drewwwwww!!!!

I squeeked out a win thanks to MJD going off. I was down by 13 points with M. Austin and K. Chancellor (IDP) left to play. It was brutal to see Romo miss a wide open Austin in the 4th quarter (I was still down by 3 points at the time). The last play to Austin, that set up that unbelievable ending, clinched it for me.

BTW, I won using Dan Orlovsky (5 points) as my QB this week. He's the 6th different QB that I have used this year.

For the first time this season, many of my players decided to put down some amazing numbers at once.

Thank you Antonio Brown, Marion Barber, and Matt Ryan!

Completely screwed myself by switching kickers this week. My only chance is if St. Louis scores enough points to force Seattle to go into the negative.

Lost out on Murray this week, but luckily Julio Jones, Fitzy, Gronk and Gerhart came through. That's with Antonio Brown and Laurent Robinson on my bench too. I would have won by more had I played them over Brandon Marshall (why won't you let me drop him, Yahoo!?!?).

Now I'm tied for 1st for playoffs and am going in with a bunch of players injured...sigh. Hopefully AP is ready for this week. I really need my guys to come through this week.

Seattle blocks a punt for a TD right off the bat squashing any slim hopes I had of a win (needed the Seahawks to go into the negative). Oh well, glad my 6-7 wild card team at least showed up and made a game of it...

Just barely secured 1st place in my league, although I'm not exactly optimistic about the playoffs. The 2nd and 3rd place teams have been absolutely on fire the past few weeks, and 4th isn't bad either. Plus 1st place has never won it all.

Lost Murray as well, so I'm really hoping that Bradshaw will bounce back for me.
Well I didnt win, so now im pretty much done....
Same here. Scored 130... he scored 137. Story of my year in this league. Got 2nd most points in the league by about 30 points but have most points scored against me by at least 75 points. So I finish 7-7 while the guy with most points in the league and lowest points scored against him in the league is 12-2. Sucks.

Of course I could have won this week if I knew Robinson was going to play for sure before Sunday.

Mike Williams vs. Dallas or Jabar Gaffney vs. the Giants. Keep in mind, Helu is one of my running backs, and I am not a big fan of starting two offensive players from the same team, unless it's a high-powered offense...which definitely doesn't describe Washington. But the Giant defense has been so bad, I can definitely see the Redskins putting up some points. And Mike Williams has had me pulling out my hair all season.
