Fantasy Football "Who should I start?" thread, Version 2.0

Help!

Fitzgerald (@KC) or Wayne (@NE)? Regiee Wayne is hurt and I think the NE defense is a lot better than the KC defense...

I also have LDT, Chris Johnson, Amhad Bradshaw and Darren McFadden. I can start 3 out of 4 of them and I'm leaning towards sitting LDT.
Here's one for ya... Mike Tolbert vs DEN or a banged up LeSean McCoy vs NYG?
Tolbert. I think he's in for a nice game this week.
Which two would you guys start this week?

Mendenhall vs. OAK
Foster @ NYJ
SJax vs. ATL

Also, which 2 WRs?

Nicks @ PHI
Colston vs. SEA
Wallace vs. OAK

Foster may have the toughest match-up, but if Schaub's out he's money. Foster and SJax. Nicks and Colston.
Still wringing my hands over these choices. Schaub is in. I don't know- the Jets D scares me. I'm dreading watching a 10-3 type game, or God forbid the Jets get a bigger lead and Houston abandons the run. Also, Asomugha is out this week for Oakland, which makes Wallace a much, much more attractive start. I had taken Kilraven's advice and switched in Colston, but is that still the combo to start at WR? Man, I wish we used a flex.

Is it worth starting Kitna against Det? My other favored option is Brady but he's playing the colts

Should I keep RAndy Moss on the bench or start him over Mike Thomas?

Kitna over Brady? I don't care what the matchup is, that is never a question that should be asked, ever.

Exactly

I picked up Crayton and benched Moss at the last minute. Very good decision. I don't know how many times he was targeted the last 2 weeks but how does he have only 1 catch since coming to the Titans?

I already won my matchup. I'm up 47-22 and Arian Foster outscored his entire team by two points by himself. He still has Brees and an inactive Bush, I have Wayne, Turner, and God...er...Vick.

Just to show you his team, he has (starting): Brees, Bush (NO), Brown (MIA), Boldin, Johnson (HOU), Watson (CLE), Crosby, Pitt D. This is the same guy who lost to me back in week two, but the score was 98-95 (iirc).
Pretty cocky about that Yahoo league. You're up 133.50 to 87.75...

...wait! I've got Vick, DeSean, and Jabar left.

Hmmm...
No I am the Dallas Dumptrucks, not the Dudebusters

Won in my money league by a slim 4 points. I was worried after McCoy's 50 yarder, but luckily the Eagles defense got that last INT.

In my league where I'm 10-0, I"m up 49 and he's got Malcolm Floyd tomorrow and I have nobody. I think I've got the win, unless Floyd catches at least 3 TD's that are all longer than 50 yards.

ARGH! I won my game handily. But if I had started Matt Forte over Felix Jones I would have set an all time high score for our league of 214.XX, instead I'll have to settle for the 3rd highest score of all time, 204.XX. The record was broken this year with 211.XX, I was the previous record holder, 3 years ago I had 205.XX. Oh well.

My entire world just came crashing down. Nicks is out for at least 3 weeks which kills BOTH of my fantasy teams and the Giants. Shit.

I'm up 20 now, but my opponent has Orton going tonight against SD. Luckily, I've got a pair of receivers to add insurance, but who's the better pick?

Gaffney vs Crayton

I'm starting Crayton. Naanee and Gates are out and I figured Bailey will lock up Floyd so Crayton will be the number 1 target for Rivers tonight.

for those of you in yahoo leagues...

how many times have you wont the "greatest victor" thats posted each week?

i just won for my 5th time this year. its become a bragging point of mine in the league.

With my 3 best scoring players (Bradshaw, Mendenhall, and Orton) not playing well at all, I was glad to see my two receivers carry my team (Jennings and Colston). I keep my streak alive that started after the week I lost Clayton, Finley, and Collie in one week.

Now, I hope based on this past week that NY continues to run with Bradshaw.
Should I drop Ryan Torain?
Not now that Portis is on IR.

Which brings me to this weeks question. PPR League. Pick 2 with at least 1 RB.

K Williams vs Min
Forte vs Philly
Breaston vs SF
H Ward @ Buf
F Jackson vs Pit

I'm starting Gore, Bowe & Vincent Jackson. Breaston & Forte are currently slotted.

no way.

I'd say keep Forte in there, replace Breaston with Ward.

We have similar teams, I'll also be starting Gore, Bowe, and Jackson this week.

However I am debating between V. Jackson and Forte for my flex. My gut says Jackson comes out big his first week back, so he is in the slot right now.

Hold up on VJax. As far as we know he could get absolutely zero snaps out of spite. I won't play him until I see something.

I'd play Williams against the Vikes piss poor run D. Breaston and Ward in VJax's place - then again, watch VJax blow up.
Hold up on VJax. As far as we know he could get absolutely zero snaps out of spite. I won't play him until I see something.
No way. SD can't afford to play any games with all the injuries they have on offense. I also have Floyd but his hammy flared up on Monday & Crayton went down.
Combine all that with a matchup vs Indy & I think VJax is a must start this week. He's had a few weeks of practice so rust shouldn't be much of a factor.
No way. SD can't afford to play any games with all the injuries they have on offense.
I must disagree with this. SD has played phenomenally in the past weeks with injuries to Naanee, Floyd, Mathews, Davis, and Gates. Rivers is playing better than Manning, and that's saying something (Manning has been known to turn 3rd stringers into must starts).

That said, you're correct in implying VJax is not coming back from injury, but this is an organization that was willing to let him sit the entire season and not trade him. It's very possible they could sit him just to hurt his FA status this off-season. If I'm wrong and he blows up, then you know. If he pulls a Randy Moss, then you've dropped a goose egg in your WR slot.

Of course it comes to crunch time and my RB gets demoted (Bradshaw) after being the 5th leading rusher in the league... screw NY.

I still think it is better to start him than my backup (Marshawn Lynch). Is that a wise move? The best thing in the waiver wire is Donald Brown but he splits carries with James.

how about mike goodson?

Stupid Sanchez. I figured he'd be the lesser of 3 evils (Sanchez, Kitna, or Fitzpatrick). Starting to look like they might have been equal evils.

Rate my team

Starting:

QB: Arron Rogers
RB: L. Blount M. Goodson
WR: S. Rice D. Woodhead M. Crabtree
TE: J. Tamme
K: N. Folk
Defense: Titans

BENCH:

M.Sanchez
C. Palmer
F. Jones (Cowboys)
P. Garcon
C. Ochocinco
Z. Miller

No reason at all for you to be carrying Palmer & I'd try to trade Sanchez for help at WR or RB. Rodgers is matchup proof.

I should win my matchup in the money league. Down by 3, but I have Reggie Wayne, so a TD or 40 yards, and I'm good. If he only scores 3 points, I still have a good chance since I have Gates on my bench. Even if I didn't, Steve Breaston (his bench) would still have to score 15 points, just for a tie.

Thomas did terrible Ward did decent, still i manged to squeak by and get a victory in my money league thanks to Tom Brady and Peyton Hillis.

Yup, Peyton Hillis scored for me just under half of what my opponent's team is going to finish with. Looks like I'm going to 12-0 this week with a 174-100 or so victory.

I should have known VJax & Rivers would bone me after Bowe trumped Hillis.

I still trail by 12 but he only has Feely left while I have Gore & Breaston. I should be fine but it's still annoying when a W should already be in the bag.

yeah, lucky for me manning had a terrible game too. i have gore left and he has vernon davis, i should be fine.
Silly people thinking Vincent Jackson would explode after being gone for almost a season. Left without a catch :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:
He was my only option after Nicks went down. Stupid.

I am not totally out of it - I'm down by 28 going into tonight with Gore and Fitzgerald. It's winnable, I think.

Put up a pretty solid week, and look to be headed into the playoffs as our league's number one team after knocking off the other 9-2 team this week.

I've got a motley crew of talent and have essentially survived off of the waiver wire.

QB - Aaron Rodgers (OPP - Philip Rivers)
WR - Reggie Wayne, Jabar Gaffney, Deion Branch (OPP - Santonio Holmes, Danny Woodhead, Steve Breaston)
RB - LeSean McCoy, Donald Brown (OPP - Chris Johnson, Knowshon Moreno)
TE - Aaron Hernandez (OPP - Antonio Gates)
K - Garrett Hartley (OPP - Mason Crosby)
DEF - Cleveland (OPP - Tennessee)

Bench
RB - Justin Forsett
WR - Mike Thomas, Lance Moore
DEF - Oakland

I've left a couple of open spots on the roster for waiver/free agent pickups, and they've been filled this season with matchup players. Cleveland was a product of "sign whoever plays Carolina", and ended up not working as planned as the game was actually close. Either way, I'll gladly take a 50 pt win over the other top team in our league.
