Favorite Star Trek movie?

Do you guys think there would be any interest in a regular Star Trek (or maybe just a sci-fi) thread ala the OTT or the wrestling topic?

If so, I'll create one if I hear some positive feedback.

I think a general Sci-Fi thread would be best, since the next Star Trek project is Star Trek XI. Until then we could talk about Dr Who, the Stargates, Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, and any Sci-Fi movie that comes out.

Yeah, even then there is so much shit to cover even if the next Star Trek and Star Wars projects are a long way away. Hell, I'm sure some of us could just rant and talk about old Star Trek episodes, characters, Star Wars movies, and just about anything else.

I think I'm going to wait to hear some more feedback before I give myself the greenlight.

Actually the Star Trek board on Gamefaqs is pretty decent. I used to go there all the time for my Trek musings. I still post from time to time.

FYI, All the Star Trek double disc special editions are $7.50 after coupon during the deepdiscountdvd sale right now.

Just started the first sci-fi topic in the same vein as the wrestling ones: Spock's science fiction topic. Hopefully it turns out to be fun.

I just watched Insurrection for the first time (I had seen parts of it a looong time ago) and I have to say that I really, really enjoyed it. I don't know why everyone dogs on this movie.

Yes, that was dumb, I'll give you that.

-data's self defense malifunction...how many times did he go "rouge" like that in TNG?
I still don't understand why he did that.

Riker's shave :O nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
That was sort of cool to see. I mean, it didn't bother me because it's not a big part of the movie.

Picard's risk the life and career of yourself and your crew mates over a village planet.
Their lives were always at risk. Picard knew he was right and did the right thing, the crew didn't have to follow him.

Skin Stretching People :O
F. Murray Abraham fucking rocks, stretched skin or not!

-Althought cool at first, it went from that to stupid in 2 seconds as I remembered when i saw it in the theater in FL.

I still don't understand why he did that.

-Something Geordi said in engineering about self defense program kicking in..i can't find my copy of the movie atm :(

-it was ok, til he said to data, "Smoother than an androids bottom..." 0.0 then data reached for rikers face and just shooked his head.
