FF VII Advent Children USA DVD NOW IN STOCK
Who hasnt seen this(FF:AC) already?
Me. Due to not wanting to watch and not know what they're talking about.
Just to check, are you saying that you get a trial prime account with the purchase of the movie? If so, how did you confirm that?
No, some people get the offer and some don't. At check out it will say if amazon will offer you a free 3 month trial for a prime account. I've been using it so much that Im actually considering keeping it past the free trial.

Do you know if they would randomly offer me a trial if I've already been invited to a trial by another user? My girlfriend got the offer and she invited me into it. Does that mean that I won't be offered it inidividually? Because I completely feel you. Having free two-day shipping really bumped up my amazon shopping, AND it was during christmas season so they definitely got their money back from my purchases.

Me, because I'd rather watch it in high-quality w/ the English voices than a rip of a Japanese dvd...

Me too. I've been waiting to watch the clean release with the official dub.

Same here. I don't mind subs for shows that haven't been announced for released in America, but once a release is planned I'd rather watch the dub.

I want super premium edition!!!!!! Darn you us release. Where is my PS2 playable copy of FFVII!!!!!!!!! Yes, I know the PS one works on it but LIMITED EDITION!!!!!! hehe
Anyone ordering this for $24.99 at GS/EB because of the bonus DVD?
Me. And they better have my bonus disc waiting for me when I come to pick it up. I dont want to hear "oh we dont have anymore bonus disc eventhough u reserved because it's first come first serve ya know?"

Thank god the Region 1 release has the Japanise 5.1 track on it. Otherwise I would have to start begging Nicheflix to pick up the Japan Region 2 release. No thanks to dubs for me.

I'd honestly rather watch subs. I like Japanese. Usually english VA's suck.

And the rip I have is pretty high quality.

I'll be buying the US release though, for extras and such.

Most of the time I'd agree with you, but they have actual actors doing the voices for FF:AC. If the voice acting is high-quality, I'd much rather listen than read.

Same here and not only would the dub acting be a problem but the lip sync as well in a CG movie like this.

They resynch the lips for English. That's what took them so long. Square does that for their games, too.

I believe that, ever since Square started including full voices in their games (FF10, KH), the English voices have been better than their Japanese counterparts, but that's me.

And they are using most of the same voice actors from Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, so it has high chances of being really good.

I was actually at the Hollywood theatrical premiere for the American dubbed version, so lemme repost that report I made:

I just got back from a premiere screening of the American release. The voice actors/actresses (VA's) for Reno, Tifa, and Aeris/Aerith were there, along with several key Japanese staff members, including Tetsuya Nomura.

I'm pretty surprised at the dub; it's really dang good. The VA's knew their stuff. Tifa had some off-key delivery at rare points, though. There was some flubs in the whole mouth-synching-with-the-voice, but it's only apparent in close-up shots. Overall, the lip synching worked. The voices were clear, distinct, and appropriate. Well, except for Cait Sith's incomprehensible Scottish/Irish(?) accent.

Action on the big screen does not translate well. With the high speed movements and camera angle changes, it can get quite dizzying. It looked good though, despite not being clear about what the heck is going on.

All in all, I REALLY enjoyed the experience. WAAY better than Spirits Within; they put actual work into making this good, and it shows. Thanks to Sony Pictures and crew for having the screening.

Also, at the end, they gave away a promotional bag with a small movie poster and the 2 disc soundtrack. Sweet swag. I'm definately picking this up on DVD when it's out.

Cloud and Tifa seemed fairly well voiced in Kingdom Hearts 2. Mena Suvari though....well, at least she shouldn't have too many lines.

It's really okay to prefer either, and I dislike blind dub hatred myself, but I honestlywouldn't be buying this if they didn't have Japanese as an option either. There are some fairly good Japanese seiyuu involved.

Depends on what's on the bonus DVD.
Tifa without the triangle nipples!!!!!!! More then enough reason to buy.

I wasn't expecting to read that.

The dub wont be too bad, the cast is pretty decent, except for the travesty that is Steven Jay Blum (Spike in Cowboy Bebop, Onizuka in Great Teacher Onizuka, Mugen in Samurai Champloo, hundreds of other shows/games where he uses the same voice) is playing Vincent. I really think Crispin Freeman should've done Vincent, he can do that dark & mysterious voice (ala Hellsing) that would be perfect.
Depends on what's on the bonus DVD.
I think he's talking about the second DVD that comes in all of them since this release is 2 discs.

I haven't watched it yet. I'm interested, don't know if I'll buy it; I didn't want to screw with the torrent or whatever.
As a film, is it actually any good?

My Prime membership just ended, and my A9 discount expired....but I do have a 25$ GC to use....
this bonus disk at EB doesn't sound like it's worth 5 bucks to me. "Get an in-depth, behind the scenes, look at the creation of FFVI Advent Children"

Will NCSX get in trouble for breaking street date?

As a film, it's actually quite terrible - the plot is absurd, and spends most of its time jumping from location to location, rushing to tell an overly-complex, silly tale. Still, it's incredibly beautiful, and has a decent soundtrack, at least. Final Fantasy fans will eat it up regardless of the storytelling quality.

Yea as a stand alone film, this film is nothing but eye candy. But for those that somewhat understand the story of FF7 it is a lot more acceptable, since most of the story has been told through the game. But if you are comparing it to The Spirit Within, I would have to say hands down this is a better movie.

No. He's talking about the third disc. the bonus disc that you get when u preorder at gamestop or ebgames.

What exactly is within the contents of this third disc?
What exactly is within the contents of this third disc?
My original question that no one answered, unless it is indeed just the normal bonus second disc.

ya i've been wondering myself if i should bother to get the bonus disc from eb/gs for the extra cash, wondering whether or not it is just the second disc of the dvd or a third disc with extra content that is worth paying an extra $5-$10 for.

Content of the preorder bonus disc from EB/GS (according to the ad in their store catalog) is here.

Now, with the sale price of $14.99 at CC, I'm not sure if the EB/GS deal is worth the extra $10 anymore ;)

I saw this $14.99 price in the DVD forum, but is it the same version that others have marked between $25-30?

CC's non-sale price is $20, Best Buy's price (non-sale, we don't know if they'll have a sale price yet) is $22 or $23, it's all the same version, minus the bonus content EB/GS are offering.
Speedy just posted at DVD Talk and the price at BB will be $14.99 as well.
Sweet, I can just use my RZ coupons to get this for a couple bucks. Thanks for the heads up.

Darn it right when I put a pre-order in at Gamecrazy. Guess I'll be buying 3 copies. Now to decided which of the two evils to give my money to.

Does Gamestop give refunds on pre-orders? I only put 5 down but now that bonus disc doesnt look like it's worth the extra $10 anymore. I'd rather go to BB or CC and get it for $14.99. It'd be nice if Gamestop price matches.

So it's definitely Final Fantasy, then.
