Chacarana, I didn't hear from Asian yet, and wanna get this stuff ordered ASAP, so if you can PM me and extra coupon code for a $5 off I'd 'preciate it :D

But if Asian gets back to me tonight, that'll work too, but I'll be making the order in the morning either way.
yep, it's the troof. the past few times I've played, Ive felt nothing but frustration for it...'course I've been bitching about the defense ever since I began playing Tekken and VF regularly (now just tekken.) I get more enjoyment out of Crippled Strike(tm) on XBL. I want some Project Justice as well...how does Rival Schools compare? i might get that on ebay if it isn't bad compared to PJ.
Rival Schools kicks alot of ass... partial due to the insane mini games. graphics are a bit sore on the eyes though...

I just got back from my art show... turned out superb. Place was packed with alot of fine girls (this IS Miami :) ), tons of people commenting to me how good the show was, plus other great stuff. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Next step is to move on some art and this game of pong I have been planning. post the pics you want to represent you in the game (avatar, whatever, you, naked crotch... etc.).

Oops. Sorry Roufuss. A buddy of mine I haven't seen in 3-4 years was in town, so I was out drinking with him and a bunch of my other friends. I love dive bars.

PM sent with the PA coupon. (assuming Chac hasn't sent it yet)

I "improved" my DOA 4 record to about 19 wins and 78 losses now. Let the good times roll.

I just want to unlock those damn costumes, but I only have like 3200 points.
Yeah, VF5 has pointed out the shortcomings of DOA4 as a competitive game and as a single player game. Super-hardcore.
But the biggest difference between DOA and VF is:

VF = Normal ol' sushi bar
DOA = A sushi bar where girls serve you in bikinis.

Haha, it's ok, wasn't mad or nothing, just didn't want Trizeal to sell out ;)

There we go, ordered that and GG: Slash for $55 shipped :D

I loved #Reload, so I'm hoping Slash is even better than that... still kind of disappointed about what happened to Accent Core.

Super lame - did KoF XI The Best always release on June 28th? I could have sworn it was June 21st, like all the rest of them... that means I'll have to get my package shipped here, and when it shows up, shipped up north where I'll be, since I leave on the 29th :(

I think so. Sort of weird seeing as every other SNK game drops a week before.

Sucks because it throws a wrench into my plans

I might just hold off on KoF XI then until I get situated up north, and substitute Melty Blood or something in instead, since Melty Blood looks to be leaving and KoF XI will be in for awhile.
Man I haven't played 3s in a few days coz Apossum decides to up and leave his 360 somewhere where he isn't. Sigh. I want to die.
there are some B's and A's you could probably take out for fun.

Indeed it does...It works perfectly on the psp as well which is very nice (OMG band), but I need to own a complete copy of this game. :)

Cause I got a new XBL account all my stats in SF 3s are gone. No I'm a freakin' Q Rank.

I was practicing for the tourney with Necro and I was trying to pull off some of his more complex combos in training mode (not that he has alot.) That D-pad is insanly frustrating, I really don't see the point in practicing anymore.

Ugh, I don't know why I chose Chun Li. Practiced all last night on my DC with my HRAP2, and shit I really suck with her when it should be the other way around. Oh well, I'm gonna stick with that choice and go down like a (chinese wo)man, if I actually end up getting to play.

freakin standing strong XX super.

like, I try to buffer the first qcf into the strong, but I always end up doing the tornado punch thing.

but yah, if you're using Magnetic storm, you can do in the corner:

throw, strong XX SAI

VERY good combo!!

I've been having trouble doing his enhanced special moves like the EX Spinning Punch. I've been practing with:

HCF+HP, db HP, b MK, HCF+2 Punches

I'm pretty sure they have to be corned to pull this off, but I've only been able to do it a couple times, all thanks to Mr. Shitty D-Pad.

I think I might switch up Magnetic Storm for Electric Snake since I want to use his EX moves more and that Secret Art has a higher stock.

high rez full of win... heck the cloth textures look amazing!

Yeah, cloth texture's look great, but their skin texture always makes them like some plastic action figure. So far no game I've seen has got skin texture just right.

it's kinda weird because at first she's sorta easy to play, then you realize how limited your options are and then she gets really hard to play.

obviously there's fierces, st fierce is like super strong and fast, b+fierce has a lot of priority and is fast. dash-under close roundhouse is also really good for anti-air.

don't jump a lot because she doesn't have a lot of options. straight up-jump roundhouse has it uses every once in a while, but i really don't like jumping with her.

as for the rest, it's just all throwing mindgames, defense, and connecting sa2. everyone on the internet says c.mk xx SA2 is easy to hit confirm because you have all day, but it's not THAT easy if you're not used to it. it took me a while to learn. her kara-throw is pretty good but it takes a while to pull off consistently, and whiffing st. forward or throw might get you punished pretty hard.

when you get better, she gets a lot tougher to play because her options seem so limited and you need to convert every opportunity you get since she can't create that many.
on the plus side, you do a lot of damage for not a lot of work =P

Yeah, that was what I understood about Chun Li in 3s--more of a ground attacker. Never played much of 3s in the arcade, because by then my interests were elsewhere.

there is not a single move in the game the opponent will hit you with that will give you enough frame advantage to connect this move.

maybe a whiffed shoryuken, but I have never tried it since it is too risky (I usually punish whiffed uppercuts with back+forward or back+strong into combo)

second, if blocked or missed, the frame disadvantage will kill you!

the ONLY time you will ever do HCF+fierce is when your opponent is dizzy.

second, I have never seen that combo before, I do not even kno db+fierce, b+forward can connect. but if they do then it is definitely corner exclusive.

still, your combo does not seem too damaging at all, if you must get fierce damage in you can HCF+fierce, b+fierce, db+fierce. But most ppl will just follow HCF+fierce up with dp+strong or dp+fierce

This wasn't on Play-Asia yesterday, so it must be new news:

Melty Blood Act Cadenza Rev. B on the PC has a release date of July 27, 2007, and comes in both regular and limited editions.

Regular is $59.90, the LE (don't know what is in it) is $79.90.

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-7s-77-2-49-en-15-melty+blood-70-21md.html

I thought this was coming out for PS2 also? I'll wait on Melty Blood if a better one is in the pipeline.

Is Melty Blood even any good? It doesn't ever seem to get talked about, and all I know is that it's high res and looks like it plays like Guilty Gear. $50 is a lot to drop on a fighter I've barely heard of.

Also, IGN has a date in their collection database of 8-07-2007 for Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol 1 for the PS2 in the US.

It's low-res but it's incredibly good. I'm not sure if I'll get the PC or PS2 version... don't know the differences assuming the PS2 is getting Revision B as well.

Crazy, it looked pretty decent, almost like Guilty Gear quality.

What makes it so good?

P-A has nothing on Rev. B for PS2, and I can't find anything online about it at all. Not sure how much longer I can wait since P-A already says Melty Blood is backordered, and I can get it for $50 (got another $10 coupon), but I'd hate to get it and then a better Ver. B comes out =O

I'd also hate to wait and it goes OOS with Ver. B never coming, and I gotta throw down $70 to play it.

It's good because it's so fucking fast paced. This is definitely one of if not the most combo-focused fighter I've ever played. I posted this a while ago, but this should give you a good idea of why it's good:

Yea, it definitely seems fast... how are the characters / levels? I guess the thing that's holding me back is that everything kind of looks generic, nothing about the presentation is standing out to me.

The characters and backgrounds are generic looking, but the music, moves, and animation are pretty awesome. It's a blast to play as well. It's like Guilty Gear but simpler, faster, and more hectic overall. None of the characters are super-complex to use like in GG.

If the PC version works on XP in the U.S., I'll definitely pick this up.
nice news on the cps3 but i'd rather just get warzard on a console collection
BINGO!!

also Melty Blood: Act Cadenza is good shit.

Thanks... I'll probably get it.

Here's another question for everyone:

Is Samurai Spirits Zero worth getting if I plan on getting Samurai Spirits Tenkaichi?

I don't think either one is really worth getting, honestly.

Yeah, Zero=V. V was universally panned. I have Tenkaichi on order myself. Big SS fan, even if the series went south the more sequels they put out.

What's different about MB:AC rev B? I was holding off on getting the existing PS2 version, but it sounds like from what Roufuss is saying that it's going bye bye soon...?

Play-Asia has it as backordered... you can still add it to your cart, but everything else I've seen on P-A that was backorderable but could still be ordered eventually moved into the "Out of Stock / Out of Print" stage and that's it, game over.

I only shop at Play-Asia for importing stuff, so once they go OOS I am screwed =O

I've heard Tenkaichi is really really good, I didn't know if Zero was basacially not worth getting and Tenkaichi trumps it in every way possible.

I will probably order SS Tenkaichi and just wait for a deal on Zero.
Is this game any good? I played the demo and was very unimpressed.

RRXX is fun in short doses, I think I'm the only one in my house that likes it though. Everyone else just laughs at the game as a whole. It's so much stuff to unlock.
Konami should be releasing some DLC for it this week as well. Something on the JPN site for the game said that there will be new content every monday this month starting this week. This week they have something that allows you to switch the costumes of the defualt characters on each other, but it's like 300 pts each or whatever so it might not be successful.

If you own SS Tenka why would you even want to own Zero? For collecters purposes? Isn't SS Zero just SS V?

I was playing some SF HF on XBLA last night and I'm very disgusted in the top ranking people. I beat several high ranking players last night and ALL of them quit the match after I won. I'm not sure if I was credited with the win or not, but I'm pretty sure they don't get a loss. Oh well, they suck. :D

Eh, same reason people own KoF XI and still get older KoF's - different play mechanics, but I'm trying to find out if Zero / V / whatever is good enough to stand on it's own two feet (or if it's even differnet mechanics wise from Tenka).

Is Samurai Shodown V crappy, supposedly? I stopped playing after 4, didn't own an Xbox so I never got V, and finding import reviews is like a needle in a haystack sometimes.

If V is shitty I'll just cross it off the list.

If you get Tenka don't worry about V. It's got all the same characters plus 12 more. I can understand getting older KOF games (diffrent characters, gameplay) But buying V after owning Tenka is like buying Tekken 4 after having Tekken 5.

i learned how to do all this crazy shit with Makoto (after my matches with Chacrana last night.) Hopefully some of it will work online...

anyway, time to go eat birthday cake and roast in the sun  fuck, my 20s are more than half way over! good thing I still feel like a teenager!

Awesome, this is the type of thing I was looking for :D

Still bummed that Tenka doesn't have Shiki and the other guy from SS64 (who is awesome in NGBC, just forgot his name) but oh well =O

I do kind of miss SNK Vs Capcom sometimes, as it's fun to mess around in, but not fun enough to blow $32.90 on the import.

Might just go for Melty Blood and Tenka in one order to use one $10 off coupon, then The Best games on the 21st to use the other one.

I guess I'll be waiting on KoF XI for awhile since it comes out the 28th :(

How much are you paying for Melty Blood. I was thinking about picking up a copy.

And you're talking about Asura from SamSho64 right? I'm also baffled why they never included him & Shiki into the main series yet. They seem to be fan favorites, due to their emo behavior. I also want to see more of the guy that fights with a giant paint brush. But you can't go wrong with Tenka, I like it more than SamSho 2.
