Thanks for helping me out, kainzero. I'll probably go for Anniversary Collection because it has 3s. Now I just need to decide if I should buy it for PS2 or wait until I get a 360 and Live, which could be a very long time.

For $15, yea, I am, I want all the SNK fighters they are releasing on the PS2 to have a full set, as it weere... $15 is nothing, anyways, considering I was contemplating dropping $25 when it went The Best.
And yea, I'll do it as a sign of support to SNK US, as long as they don't botch this up somehow, with any luck we'll get Fatal Fury Battle Archives Vol. 1, and maybe it'll actually work right this time! Then maybe some more collections after that... I'll gladly sell my imports and trade up to the US originals as long as they were 1:1.

the EX series was good, but needed a load of polish. Skullomania plus some of the best shoto designs in a while from capcom.
and in terms of mad gear... final fight mad gear... I bunch my fighters together with my brawlers.

I can't wait for SSB: Brawl either. I don't care what anyone says, SSBM is a legit game, I don't know if it's fair to call it a fighter but who really cares, it plays like heaven and is hella fun (I just hope they didn't ruin Samus.)

I'm sort of wondering if the new Smash will be the game that finally gets me onto the series.
I bought the previous one for GC, mostly because of how fun a lot of my friends said it was. It never really clicked with me, but then again I never devoted the kind of time I would with CVS2 to Smash. Who knows maybe I'll play it more over the summer.
I have to say watching my friends (who are really good) play was fun. It was littered with the kind of cheering, laughing and shit-talking 2-D/3-D fighting competitions are filled with

SSB will never hold my attention. Its perfect for people who are die hard platform and fighter players... Plus the huge overshadowing fanboyism associated with it ruins alot for me.
So is anyone going to go to EVO WEST? If you're a geek like me it's going to be a fun filled weekend... not only is it right across the street from Comic-Con International/SDCC it's also FREE to enter if you have a Comic-Con pass...

Smash is most likely the only real "fighting" game that I constantly enjoyed. I even used to frequent the smashboards before because I was so into it. Smash 64 was awesome and ground breaking. And even though it took me a little while to get used to the upgraded version of Melee, I found that in the end Melee was 10x superior. Now, as for Brawl, I'm excited and at the same time skeptical. Last when I left smashboards, people were worried about the mechanics of the game, whether there would be things like freeze frames, wavedashing and what not. I would be happy if they keep the system the same, with maybe new items/characters. This is because the melee system looks like the "pinnacle" of smashing to me and seems like if they add or change anything else, it'll mess up the already near perfect formula.
And I know it's not just me, but how the hell does solid snake fit into the cast of Smash Bros. I can understand megaman and sonic (not that they are confirmed), but someone with an rpg and socom vs a plumber with a cape and fireballs?

the N64 Smash Bros was and still is the best IMHO. The game play was more leveled in terms of pacing. Now it reminds me of the twitching that you see mice and small birds do with their body.

I don't know about that, I'd have to say the melee system "pace" is much faster than the n64 version. I've gone back to it a few times and I find it definitely slower paced. Maybe it's just that the n64 smash runs at 30 fps or maybe it's because there's crap wedged into my n64 analog stick.
Oh and as for ssb64 being leveled? I don't find true since flying off the stage against a pikachu is pretty much 100% stock loss. Pikachu's edge game and recovery was too good back then, it wasn't even funny.
