Mr. Beef, you're using Yun in CvS2? Or are you entering 3s as well.
Can't play 3s to save my life. :[

I've never really seen anyone that's decent at the game use Yun. That'd be interesting to see.

Evo2K9 Fighter Thread trip? I could probably get all of my family to pitch in and get me a trip to Vegas for my graduation gift. Just something to think about.....
Plus it has Shazam in it
Yeah. I'm not a huge DC fan, but shazam is one of my faves. I still love the guy in Kingdom Come.

as for MvC3, it seems highly likely that if the US does get it, it'll be a substitute for TvC... you know why? because it'll use the TvC game engine.

MM (or anybody), is the PS3 verison of SC the elite version? Or is it on par?
I want to make sure, and I couldn't give a rats ass about Yoda or Darth.

I'm wondering the exact same thing. I think the extra characters are a hokey idea. If that Kratos rumor would've been true, that woulda been badass but as it stands Yoda and Vader are cheesy.

Such a good interview... great to see someone finally asked about Darkstalkers and Rival Schools coming back possibly:

http://www.siliconera.com/2008/07/2...discussed-in-our-street-fighter-iv-interview/

form what I guess, if SFIV does really good (buy all versions please) that means Capcom will probably listen and deliver on more fighters :) so now my fuel for a new rival schools is to buy alot of SFIV. Good thing I plan on having the PC and PS3/Console/whatever-is-best version

also i think is is adam hughes best work

Yeah I'm talking about CVS lol. I use Yun in 3s.

Also, SC4 is pretty cool. I can't shake the feeling that the Star Wars characters pretty much ruined the game, and that there is way to much single player shit (like all kinds of stats and stuff). I personally could care less if the hat I'm equipping adds +20 to Impact. Fighting seems good though, although I haven't got to play it a ton yet. Just wish that it was more like 2 in the sense that the single-player modes just mix-up the combat, I don't wanna play dress-up with my character to ensure that I'm getting the best possible bonuses.
yeah, the stat boosts in SCIV really aren't needed. hardcore fighters are going to play standard vs anyway most of the time.
Yeah definately. I never once played any of the SC2 "Special" versus modes. I just don't care for that kind of stuff. If weapon changes are purely cosmetic, I'm all for them. Anything beyond that kills it for me though. Just don't want any advantage either way for either player.

Oh well gonna play around with the SP more tomorrow, didn't have a whole lot of time tonight. Will be on PSN this weekend to play w/ everyone.

Got 3 new arcade sticks today... I spent all evening modding them I didn't even get to play SC IV some more ;(

Time to sleep for work tomorrow....

I wish I had a stick to mod.

I realized I want to keep my pelican converter so that down the line whenever I get a stick, I can use it. I'm still planning on that SFIV stick though.

I think most people are getting it because of the controller/joystick issue. A lot of people have joysticks for PS2 and they want to use them for SC IV.

It's easy to do this for PS3, but not so easy for 360.

BTW. The REAL PS2/PS3 USB Converter is currently not being made anymore due to the Olympic Games in China. China shut down a lot of factories to cut down on the pollution. Production should resume after the Olympics wraps up.

how many sticks do you have and where do you store them? i have 4 sticks and i have trouble finding spots for them, lol
Do you guys know of any good software that can keep track of player stats and tournament stuff for fighting games?

I'll link you later when I get home.
Did you find that link?

i have both versions of SVIC preordered altho my Ps3 version is delayed.

if BB has it by the endo of today, i'll get it there and cancel my preorder from amazon.

Played about another hour of SC4 today. It's not bad. I feel like alot of the move changes are kind of arbitrary. I noticed this especially with Ivy and Yeung-Sung (sp?). It seems like every command produces a different move then it did before. I didn't play 3 that much so maybe this is a byproduct of that game, but it feels weird. It's cool, because it makes them feel like fresh characters, but it kind of sucks cause none of my old go-to shit works :bomb:

Since you didn't play SCIII much that could be the case. They changed Cervy around a lot in SCIII. Along with new moves his existing ones were switched to different commands. In SC 1 & 2 I played with such a robotic pattern that the changes done in SCIII made me hate it at first.

Cervy is buff in SC IV, he's my main. The only thing I worry about him is his lows aren't as good as they used to be. And loss of his good mindfuck UB...

BTW:

I think this is the best easter egg ever...

Looking through both versions of Soul Calibur IV... reading the manual.

The PS3 one has ads for Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The 360 one has ads for Soul Calibur on XBLA, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, AND a $1 off coupon for Church's Chicken!

360 version superior confirmed!

Maybe I'm just not getting it, but I'm disappointed with SC4 so far.

And Rodimus, that could be the case. I keep on playing hoping to get more fun out of it.

Good to know the ol' pirate still kicks ass. Does he have his golden Kaiser armor as his 2P costume?

Jimbo - What aren't you liking about it? My copy didn't come in today so I have to hold out.

I like SC4. It is nice. Though I'm not feelin' Siegfried quite as much this time around... I dunno what it is. But Kilik is a lotta fun to play as. Even tho he's basically the SC version of Jin. Oh well.

I really like the game. The online is surprisingly solid, as well. I've had very, very little lag in the matches I've played so far... played a few rounds against ReRo, and I had a tad bit of input lag for the first match, but that went away.

I'm still not sure whether or not I should get a headset for the game...

I was thinking about picking up the premium edition of SCIV at BB for about $75 after tax. I'm not really sure it's worth it over the regular edition though.
Jimbo - What aren't you liking about it? My copy didn't come in today so I have to hold out.
It's not bad. I think since I'm not currently connected to PSN that I'm not liking the lack of a decent opponent, and also I wish it had a better training mode. The Virtua Fighter style mode where it lists one move after another, and only advances when you complete the move really helps. I really wish this had it.

I also really liked that feature in VF. But does it allow you to preview moves in training? Also, are you playing on the 360? If so I'll play a few rounds with you when I get mine, hopefully tomorrow.

I loved that feature in VF's training mode... that's probably why it's the only 3D fighter I've played where I've bothered to learn a lot of the moves for a character. I haven't seen any preview function in the training mode, either.

You can preview each move in training mode for SC IV. It's funny how on the bottom of the list they list combos but not all of them are guaranteed (can be AC'd out of) lol.

Yeah you can preview the moves, but it's cumbersome to go to the moves list, hit a different button to preview, back out of the menu, try the move yourself, and then reopen the menu, scroll down to Movelist, preview etc....

It'd be nice if you could just hit select or something to bring up the movelist. It's annoying to do the above method when the characters have 100+ moves. Really wish that it'd had that training mode feature. Oh well.

It's a good game I'm liking it a little more the more I learn. Unfortunately, like Chac said, learning alot of moves at once totally sucks.

I'm no expert, but when it comes to 3D fighters I try by going down the movelist and picking the skills that look effective to your style. It's better than memorizing all of them. Pick only 6 or 7 moves to master and try them out against an opponent. After that drop the ones you dislike and a pick a few more.

Pretty much, Jekki. It's kinda more like this
A B K
G

Edit: It's not showing my spaces for some reason, but G is more left than A. Put like 3 spaces in front of A and that would be a good layout.

SC4 is fun. Yoda is ghey. Tira, Scheherazadeherazhsch, and Taki are great. no lag for me.

Not sure if its tournament worthy, but I'm not a tournament fighter, so I don't really care.
