The Final Fantasy XII Collector's Edition for the PS2 is a Gamestop/EB Games EXCLUSIVE title!

The Final Fantasy XII Collector's Edition will be packaged in a steel case and includes a Collector's DVD with the following contents:

* History of Final Fantasy featurettes
* Final Fantasy XII U.S. Trailers
* Final Fantasy XII Japan Trailers
* Final Fantasy Art Gallery

Meh, just another case of publishers testing the waters to charge us that extra $10.

I promised I would never pay more than $50 for a game for myself, but if I can make money on the extras, then I'm sold. When Fable came out, I got the extra Fable disk from gamestop and it sold for $60.00 on ebay. I was able to justify buying the game. Hopefully, the same thing will happen here! But also I will support Square to the very end so I may have to preorder two, one to keep and one to sell.

I had the same problem. I was like wtf, I just typed this in a minute ago on my other computer and it worked. I typed in SAVER and it worked for some reason.
 
By the way, thanks OP. I ordered one from gamestop.com and one from ebgames.com. They can't possibly fuck up of both my orders.. or can they..? I might even place a preorder in store, just in case.

same site.. doesnt matter which you order from goes through the same people.

Strange, Gamestop and EB are charging minimum $2.99 handling fee even with SAVER. Cleared all my cookies and tried again getting the same thing. This is even before I enter my address, and I am located in the USA. Weird.

edit: maybe I need to try logging in. I'm use quick checkout right now

At this point is the PS2's life cycle, adn the fact that the PS3 will be out a few weeks after FFXII is released, i was really expecting pricing to be $39.99 and $49.99, but oh well....
 
I'll most likely preorder a copy in-store, that way I could pay it in full right away, or maybe do a "pay half now and pay half later" type of thing.
 
I was in an EB today and the manager got a call asking about this. He had no idea what was in the LE as he had just heard about it himself. I dropped 2 other preorders (to get the 10% bonus on top of my Edge and $10/3 game bonuses). Now I guess I'll have to head back and preorder this just in case. Like others, I have the regular version preordered at GR (for well over a year now in fact!). Even if this wasn't an EB/GS exclusive, GR wouldn't have gotten it :roll:.

Now I'm wondering when we'll hear about a Zelda Twilight Princess LE.

the press release was released around noon yesterday.

Yea, I think I'll do the same thing. There's something I like about dealing with a real person, and being able to physically go pick up the item.
 
I'm pretty sure you have to use one of the referral links for FREESHIPALL or SAVER to work. I used the CAG link and it worked just fine. When I go straight to the site it never works.

I agree. It just sucks that If i preorder while I am home in NJ I'll have to drive 4 hours to pick it up! I don't get to my apartment in PA until August, but as long as they are still accepting pre-orders then, it doesn't matter, cause I can be first to pick it up on pre-order day.

My only worries is that by August 12, they will have filled up on all pre-orders. Then I'll have to rely on the gamestop.com order or my pre-order in NJ... :\

I don't believe I blamed him for anything :D. My :roll: was for GR... Anyway, in fact we talked about it quite a bit and he wanted me to tell him what was in it if I found out before him (but then he realized he could look it up online same as me that evening :D).

Actually, I had every opportunity to do the FF XII LE preorder as he was in the midst of processing my trade-ins during the call (when someone else asked him about it). At the time I just wasn't sure and wanted to find out what was in it first. Then I got on here and saw you guys jumping all over it, and figured, what the hell, I have EB credit to burn thanks to the trade-in deals, I might as well secure one just in case :D.

No big deal, I'll be back again and that gives me another preorder to put through to get the 10% bonus - I was out of games to preorder anyway.

maybe I will give them a call tomorrow about it... Are there any gamestop workers that know what these codes mean?
 
There may be different SKU's in stores depending on coverted POS systems and non coverted.. that would be my best guess.

Mine does not either, and I doubled check with the guy. And he said it was for the LE, just that it would not fit the whole thing the the reciept.

Preordered the game and put down some money on the guide, too. Though I'm not a guide collector, I'm a sucker for a nice LE. And like the guy said, if I look at it and decide I don't really want it, I can move my money onto something else.

I went to this particular GS--instead of the EB across the street from where I live--because the manager called to have an MGS3 LE held for me at another store back during that debacle, so I know they try to take care of their customers. I doubt we'll see stock in Halo 2 proportions, but neither do I believe we'll have another MGS not-enough-for-preorders shortage. Hopefully. Because I'm not enough of a fanatic to wait in line for a midnight sale.

I also noticed they hired away the cool manager of the only Rhino in town, Rob. One of the other CAG's in another thread said that there were some sort of problems at this GS (Waterford Lakes) and there'd be a shake-up, but for now at least, the senior staff have my vote of confidence.

I also have the same code as you. Mine doesn't say Li or Co too. Did you ever call Gamestop about your code? Did they do it wrong, cause if they did yours wrong I wanna go back and fix my reserve too.

I preordered today B&M with the manager who knows what he's doing, that's the right code. This is just like the MGS3 LE thing, there's just not enough space.

Odd. Has your Gamestop switched to the EB POS yet, does the reciept look different then they used to? Mine just switched like a week or two ago, my listing from the new POS, but I am 110% it's the LE listing. What sku does your have?
