Forget Zen Davis. It's now the "Vader Time" appreciation thread.

Jericho apologized to the crowd and the cops dropped the issue, so I'm guessing that's just how Jericho is being written out of the WWE this time. He does have another Fozzy tour coming up.
While I agree that Owen was an excellent in-ring worker, I think you're undervaluing Waltman's in-ring prowess a bit. Granted he wasn't a guy you could push to the upper echelon, but the guy could work a good quality match when he wasn't overly Pac-ing it up.
Sean Waltman is a solid worker, especially for his size. Check out his ladder match with him vs. Eddie at Souled Out. It wasn't just because Eddie was in it either. Pac did a STANDING drop kick off the top of the ladder while he was on one side and Eddie was standing at the top of the other side. I've never seen anything like that before.

Funny about the guy leaking TNA info to WWE, just within the past month Alex Shelley, Matt Morgan and Flair are all supposedly heading to the E. Sucks about Jericho he was supposed to main event a house show I'm going to in Mobile the following weekend against Cena. Guess that shit isn't happening now.
This reminds me of the time JBL did the goose step Germany and then nothing happened to him.
Didn't he win the title right after that happened? Just goes to show: as long as you're in good wit da boss, you're untouchable.

Also, does EWR still exist in any modern form? And is it still as amazing as it was over a decade ago? Would love a version to play on iOS anywhere I went.

nail on the head.

Any opinions on Wrestling Manager (iOS game)? $10 seems pretty steep, and the reports of numerous bugs has me backing away slowly.....thoughts anyone?

I don't think there's an iOS version, sadly. I downloaded EWR the other day (the 2004 version) and ended up playing it a while.

Here's the site: http://www.greydogsoftware.com (it's now Total Extreme Wrestling)

JBL has commented on the flag incident:

"After seeing reports of Chris Jericho in Brazil-it was what I suspected--Chris trying to entertain and be a heel. Apparently a Brazilian Flag comes into ring and Chris grabs it and kicks it (or something to that effect). Compare that to Sgt Slaughter burning the flag or all the crazy stuff that has gone on. This is nothing. EXCEPT we are in a new era and now that isn't acceptable.

Chris did what most old heels would have done, he reacted and a decade ago it would have been loved for the heat. However, times change and we have to as well-Chris acknowledged this and apologized. Chris is a wonderful person and one of all time great entertainers-there was no malice here from what I see and know about Chris. A mistake was made and is being dealt with.

As far as being illegal, please, if done in an entertaining arena it is considered as such. Like saying you can prosecute Anthony Hopkins for cannibalism because of his role in 'Silence of the Lambs'. I understand the arguements, I went through same thing in Germany and it was never considered a problem in Germany-only over the Internet and the Internet reporters. Chris' intent was to entertain not insult anyone in Brazil or the great Brazilian fans.

Times change and for the better. Chris did what a ton of older heels would have done and he reacted. He is being punished and he apologized. He is one of all time greats and a great friend, old habits are hard to change but we must.

Times change and we have to change with it, and we all will."

TNM 7 still exists, in the sense that it was updated to work with Windows 7/Vista in February. The base program + some of the plugins is still fun even after all this time.
I think this is WWE playing it safe. Jericho will be back soon.
Fit Finlay was fired for far less and still isn't back.
Hopefully he did something horrible in the past, because Golden Idol was a breath of fresh air in these threads.
Makes sense you'd say that, considering you're as big a tool as he is.

Man, I haven't thought about TNM in probably... whew... 13 years?

It got me into the sordid world of efeds back in the day.

If it has really been that long, i'd suggest checking it out again. A "second edition" was released back in 2003 along with several plug-ins that changed the experience significantly. (for the better)

I was also a participant in e-Feds in the mid to late 90s. Good times.
Bully Ray is killing it in this Impact opening.
Bully Ray is crushing it everytime he opens his mouth. He gets beat in matches, runs away from fights, and still every word that comes from his mouth about how bad he'll beat you is believable.

That whole opening segment was pretty good. Good match between AJ and Roode also.

WWE has announced that Chris Jericho’s suspension is for 30 days for “denigrating the Brazilian flag at a WWE live event in São Paulo on May 24.” This means that barring an exception for the PPV, he won’t appear at No Way Out.

WWE probably has to make a big show out of suspending Jericho so it looks like the company cares about their flag laws and so Brazil lets them back to tour again.

WWE posturing to look good in public eye in order to progress their own agenda? Inconceivable!
Bully Ray and Kevin Steen are far and away the 2 best heels working today.
What do both have in common? Neither ever make any attempt to be a "cool" heel.

Good for them, too.
nail on the head.
I guess in JBL's defense he didn't almost get arrested and had to run out of the country, he's just a massive asshole. But no action whatsoever for that and 30 days for a genuine mistake is nuts.

Jericho probably thinks this is awesome in that Ozzy getting banned from San Antonio for pissing on the Alamo sorta way. He posted a picture of himself posing with all of the cops that were escorting him to the airplane.

Jericho knows better considering his international experience and it was off-script. Not to mention that it was illegal. Not to mention that it risks losing the company a lucrative touring opportunity and he's only a part time performer.

JBL's was just in poor taste but not illegal.
Hopefully he did something horrible in the past, because Golden Idol was a breath of fresh air in these threads.
Making the incredibly minor prediction that Heyman would be returning and then jizzing all over himself and saying "IN YOUR FACE" when it happened, as if everyone here told him he was foolish, and as if it were some bold prediction that no one ever would have guessed, is not a "breath of fresh air." It's the same attitude that you see on tons of other wrestling forums filled with morons.

Considering all the hubbub about what Jericho did, I expected him to have wiped his ass with the flag, blown snot at it, curb stomped, and wiped his feet with it. He damn near missed on the punt. It was just cheap heel heat 101.

The reason the two situations are so similar is b/c in Germany, actions and images associated w/ the Nazi Party are illegal - swastikas, dressing up like Hitler, or in JBL's case, goosestepping. Both actions (what JBL and Y2J did) were violations of the law of the respective countries they were touring in.

Irrespective of whether this stuff ought to be legal or not, both were illegal at the time they occurred. The actions of each respective country - well, they can vary because we can't demand two different countries and two different cultures behave in identical ways. But for the corporation involved in both incidents to react differently - that is what gives me pause.

For 96 cents and free shipping I can't really go wrong. In for 1.

Here's a funny tidbit about Zen Davis, though it's not on topic anymore (well, literally still is but ANYWAYS)-

He actually lived about five minutes away from me when I lived in NJ, I met him as we both were waiting for the PS3 reserve day back in 2006 or whatever year, and he told me he had heard about the release on CAG. I had no idea what CAG was, I just used to work at Toys R Us and got the inside info from a manager. Low and behold, he got me into CAG, and I actually went to a ROH show with him in Manhattan.

He's actually not a bad guy in person, I think that's how I found this thread and stayed lurking on here for news or just to read the banter. We just flat out stopped communicating at one point and there you go, sillyness.
Impact was pretty good.

He'll be a judge next week. Since he's also working the Ring Ka King tapings for TNA in India, there's a good chance he'll get a contract.

It's down to 90 cents now.

What JBL did wasn't illegal, it was just massively more offensive than kicking a flag.

I'm glad someone else posted about Joey Ryan. I had meant to do so after reading about it on Twitter but forgot. I'll have to watch his TNA Gut Check thing.

*four minutes later*

Decent debut for Ryan. Hopefully, TNA signs him. I'm all for TNA signing PWG guys and giving them better money.

Sign enough of them, replace Taz, fire some dead weight, fix up some kinks, and maybe I'll resubscribe to their YouTube channel.

And I have no issue with what Jericho did. He was just working some good ol' fashioned heel heat. That said: Despite Brazil's booming economy, I still wouldn't want to be locked up in one of their jails. However, considering the for-profit prison problem in the U.S., it couldn't be much worse.

Free ROH ippv match tonight at 8PM EDT. http://www.rohwrestling.com/news/world-title-contender-will-be-determined-tonight

Eight men were chosen: “American Wolf” Davey Richards, “Die Hard” Eddie Edwards, Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett, Jay Lethal, “The Dominant Male” Tommaso Ciampa, and “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin. Each man had an equal chance to earn a shot at the ROH World Title but only half of them would make the cut…

Of those eight, four individuals were then selected in a random drawing to compete in a Four Corner Survival to determine who will get a shot at the ROH World Championship on June 30th in Pittsburgh, PA!

The 4 wrestlers selected to compete were current ROH World TV & the 2nd Triple Crown winner in ROH history Champion Roderick Strong, former World TV Champion Jay Lethal, “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett, and Adam Cole. Two of these men have tasted championship success in ROH, two of them have yet to reach that goal, but only one of them has ever held the World Title before. The first step is complete, simply getting picked for this match; the second step is now at hand as these men must earn their shot at the title, and for the individual who does, then comes the hardest step of all…winning the World Title. Which man will be the one to step up and challenge whoever the World Champion may be on June 30th? Will it be Strong, Lethal, Bennett, or Cole?

There is only one way to find out because this Four Corner Survival will be available EXCLUSIVELY on ROHWrestling.com! The match will go live this Monday night, Memorial Day, at 8PM EST! Join us on Memorial Day and witness…

ROH World TV Champion Roderick Strong vs. Adam Cole vs. “The Prodigy” Mike Bennett vs. Jay Lethal as they fight to determine who will get a shot at the ROH World Championship on June 30th in Pittsburgh, PA! Here are comments from Adam Cole, Mike Bennett & Roderick Strong.

Pretty surreal to see Joe on TNA Impact. I didn't watch the show but I caught the match on YouTube. I hope they do sign him... guy is a legitimate fan of the business for as long as I've known him (since '98) and has worked extremely hard to get where he's at. I don't know if it was just me but he was a little *too* over the top, but I'm sure it was all in good fun seeing how he was in there with Aries.

And E3 next week? :)

This thread isn't working for me because:

1. "shaq fu" works better with the graphic, not spelled out in a thread title.

2. I thought "Zen Davis" was a Botchamania reference and was confused. Found out it wasn't and thought ...

3. He was the evil twin of Danny Davis. Or a good twin.

Joey's now trying to legalize sleaze, but still offers the occasional mustache ride. The only wrestling shirt I own is the mustache one. :)

WWE 13 cover is cool, WWE Attitude logo is awesome and has me hopeful for the product to take a more attitude era change soon. Ledesma RT'd my WWE Attitude compliment, so that's awesome.

Reveal tomorrow morning on IGN. Hoping for a less buggy version of WWE 12 with an improved Universe mode and lots of Attitude era stars..
