Forza Motorsport 3 - Out Now!

I love it so far. Its gorgeous and is such a fluid experience. I won my first online race which was awesome in an Enzo.

Its definitely got a much lower learning curve for beginners this time around with that auto upgrade thing. I normally get into it deeper on my own, but doing so with a Nissan Versa just doesnt interest me :D
 
I'm hoping for a good deal on this come black friday.

EDIT: and we have one - $39.99+tax at Sears and at sears.com albeit with $2.99 shipping. Black Friday prices, though that Thursday and Friday. Here's to hoping that Amazon matches or beats it.

I played for way too many hours yesterday and have been having an absolute blast. Easily better than the previous Forza and Gran Turismo games. The Season Play mode is definitely a step in the right direction because it mixes up events and makes them more entertaining. For those that just want to do the events though, Event List mode is there for you.
 
Will be on later tonight (after 10PM PST) and switching off between this and DJ Hero. Had some fun last night doing an arcade race with a 370Z for the Drifter achievement. I was pretty surprised at the constant flow of achievements even though I was only Driver Level 4.

Buy it. Buy it now. It is absolutely amazing. I don't even know that I can go back to playing Forza 2 honestly. I put over 70 hours in Forza 2. Aesthetically, this trumps it greatly. If you were any fan of Forza 2, I recommend this completely. My early impression is that this may be the best racing game of this generation.

The DLC certificate in the box is nice. You get codes for a legends car pack, sidewinder proving grounds, and a high speed ring track.

For whoever said it earlier, the discs WERE NOT stacked on top of each other. They had two separate case holders in the main case.

I was thinking of making one. I only made a retro Pepsi logo so far. It's been hours and only 3 people downloaded it and it must have sank down so far nobody even sees it anymore. Seems like you have to make stupid stuff to get lots of downloads. Like queer-ass anime characters or Batman shit.
 
I bought it and played for about an hour and a half tonight. Love the presentation, love the storefronts, love the driving. Fantastic game so far. I can't wait to see what kind of designs people come up with, especially since I have no artistic talent at all, but I think I could do some simple pixel art stuff.

Thanks for the impression dude. After hearing Cheapy D claim this was the best sim racer ever and after reading all the reviews I am going to buy it. However, I will wait till at least black friday as It's only a month away. Supposedly Sears is going to have it for $40, and I have no doubt in my mind Amazon will match that.
 
Nobody is online and there seems to be some problems. It's also very disappointing that you can't create a custom lobby...

I think we should have a CAG night for this tomorrow or Friday so we can get a full room and have the option of switching car classes and race types.
 
Man, I was so pissed last night. I couldn't get my second disc to load. When the game asked me to insert the second disc my xbox froze up a couple times, or it would come up with an error saying to insert disc 2.

Anyone else have this problem? I'll have to make an exchange later today.

I just made my exchange. When i looked at the disc carefully it looked like there was a little nick on the outer rim of the disc. Don't know if I did it or not. Hopefully I'll be all good for tonight.

I'm in for some online racing too

Same thing happened to me. I took it back to gamestop and they looked at the disc and shot me weird looks. But they gave me a new copy anyway and it worked fine.

**EDIT** I just read your other post and I had the same exact nick on the outer edge. I wouldn't think it would have mattered since it looked like it was on the outside of all the data, but I could not get it to load for the life of me.

Ok I've acquired quite a few cars and have a question. In the last Forza I swear you could mark a few cars as favorites and have them appear at the front of your list for easy access. I don't see anything like that in 3, am I missing it or is this something that isn't there anymore, or perhaps this was never in Forza 2 and I have "misremembered".

Question 2: Am I the only person that has a problem with no custom lobbies. This could kill the game for me. Last night when I tried to find a game there were under 500 people online, can't believe this hasn't been mentioned in here yet.

You could. I had quite a few as my favorites, mostly Old American Muscle stuff. Not sure if you can in this game.

Having everything unlocked from the get go is actually a turn off for me for some reason. I just feel like I'm not accomplishing anything when I win races except for winning credits.

Is anyone else having really bad lag problems right now right before a friend signs on to live? I'm playing a series and my game is literally chopping up, almost stopping, then a friend signs online. I didn't notice this at all last night.

Grrr....So, I'm trying to do my first ever custom design and I had it almost finished and clicked the wrong combination of buttons and lost my 2 hours of work. My Santa Claus car is gone.

I never tried to design in Forza 2 and didn't realize how time consuming and difficult it is. I always had it in my mind that the design was made in something like mspaint but I was soooo wrong. I was up to 300 layers when I lost my progress and i'll get back to it eventually.

So I had to wait for a friend to get here from Colorado, so in my insomniac boredom I created the first Forza CAG vinyl group! It's in my storefront for free, or you can msg me and I'll gift it to you. It's not nearly as pale as the picture shows, there's like a weird glow.

IIRC, there is a way to create groups in Forza 3, which helps with organizing your vehicles.

Can you explain? I looked for about 10 minutes yesterday on how to either mark a car as a favorite, or create a group, and got nothing.
 
I created this Santa head this morning! It's my first time actually designing something in Forza so hopefully I get better at it. I want to do a whole Christmas theme before the holidays.

I must say, the auto brake that is turned on by default is completely stupid. I didn't know it was on, and wondered why my car was automatically braking around turns. I just raced an entire race and all I had to do was hold down the accelerator and let the game do the rest of the work. Lame.

Wasn't this how Need for Speed: Shift was setup as well?

How are people making such good designs? Practice and patience?

In Forza 2, I found it very difficult and time-consuming to make anything look decent.

It doesn't matter what tool you give an artist, they will always create something out of nothing if they are creative.
I was able to get some neat designs in Forza 2 but it took forever and I said wait a minute why am I not driving and playing this game, I have Photoshop already lol!? I did enjoy spending time customizing my car in Midnight Club:LA and thought that interface worked well.

Ya know, I'd agree with you although my apparent ADHD doesn't allow me to utilize something like Forza's paint shop. I just can't deal with those restrictions when PS is so much faster. Like this from my head drawn on paper and then to PS. (Should finish that too...)
