Free 2000 Wii Points Card
i got the visa 20 dollar card, now wdf am i suppose to do to get the wii points card..
You could just use the card to buy points directly on the wii. Im pretty sure it accepts visa.
Guys - it's been nearly 45 days (month and a half) since I got the email that my Wii Points Card promotion was approved. Yet I got no email that it shipped etc. They say stock is low.

So my question is - for the people who did get their cards (or equivalent) recently, when did you sign up, and how long did you wait? I think LetsPlayWii.com jipped me. They no longer reply to my messages I send through their site.
I signed up around Dec. 14 and cancelled 16th. Got it Jan. 29th.

Don't know if I ever thanked the OP for this... but thanks. I signed up for true.com a few days ago. I've received my confirmation that it will ship in 10-14 days, so I went ahead and cancelled my true.com account. They offered me an extended 1 month trial, but I cancelled anyways. I hope I still get my card!

I just got my notice about the 10-14 days shipping. Now, since my credit card is cancelled, I suppose I don't have to bother cancelling with true.com. Of course, I have the perfect excuse - my card number was stolen!

i just got an email also that said they will be shipping it soon and it'll take 10-14 days but they said they will send me another email to confirm that it was shipped

Now, my e-mail specifically said Wii Points Card. Should I be expecting one of those, or will I get the Visa card?
Now, my e-mail specifically said Wii Points Card. Should I be expecting one of those, or will I get the Visa card?
Mine said that also, I would expect a visa card

It's a stock email. I also got one saying Wii Points card, but you'll get a Visa card.

ugh! i just cancelled true.com but it was a hassle... i was on hold for like 20min and then the guy kept trying to offer me stuff

but i finally got it cancelled, thank god...

I was on hold for 20 minutes, then spent 20 minutes with the guy breathing in my ear while he fumbled with his computer. He claimed everything was freezing up, then he couldn't find my account. After giving him my credit card number (and another 10 minutes) he finally said it looked like I was automatically extended until March 7th so I had all that time to check it out. I said no thanks and asked to cancel it anyway and he claims he did, though I don't trust him with all the issues he had.

When you guys cancelled did you get emails or confirmation numbers or anything like that? Or did you just have to take it on faith that they wouldn't charge your card?

Anyone else have the auto extension? That was a bit wierd too.

There was no confirmation, but I did try to login to my account immediately after hanging up and it said my username did not exist in their system. Been about a month and half since I signed up and no charges.

However, I told them my brother signed me up as a joke - they may treat that differently than regular cancellations.

Well, since this is the card number that was stolen (somehow) and used in Ancaster, Ontario to charge stuff (3 false charges ended up coming through for a total of $266, not as bad as I thought it would be) and then subsequently cancelled I really don't have to worry about it. They can try to charge to it all they want on March 7th .

I cancelled god knows how long ago, and I was able to log into my account last week. I was just curious since I've continued to receive emails from them. Oh well, doesn't matter to me at all since I'm not being charged.

If you haven't already botticus, you can log into the account and remove all emails from them to you. I don't really remember where the option was at, but they were sending me tons of email too. (A good month or so after I cancelled.) Went in and shut them all off and they haven't contacted me since.

OK, I'm still getting emails too. I can cut them off entirely (send the email account I used for it to :blackhole: ) but I thought I'd have to monitor it to see if they really cancelled. The one I got tonight was about making my profile stand out because people are overlooking me now (I guess 'cause of no picture). My wife will be pleased to know that . Rig, did you continue to get the same type of crap even well after you cancelled?

Yep. Even after a cancel I was still able to sign in and see that my account was there. The emails only stopped once I unchecked them. I would bet that I could still try and sign in on those old accounts that I made.

Ok, so I cancelled, now how do I get them to remove my account entirely? I thought they'd do this automatically, but apparently they don't?

And hearing another grown man tell me about the "sexploration test" wasn't something I wanted to do today =X

BTW, FL isn't taxed for Wii Points, I buy all my points through the Shop.

I'm *really* uncomfortable with my credit card just sitting on TRUE's site and there is NO WAY TO GET RID OF IT??? Is there a way I can call them to get them to shut down my account completely, or delete my fucking credit card?

Yea, the sexploration stuff was just...weird.

My account for TRUE says this:

Your free period ends on: 2/9/2007

On 2/10/2007, you cancelled your subscription. Continuing will reactivate your subscription.

What does this mean? I cancelled today, not 4 days in the future, or does this just mean after my free trial that's it, they aren't going to charge me the RIDICULOUS amount of $49.99 per month?

I did the true thing awhile back for 360 cards and it was easy to cancel. I called them up and they cancelled no questions asked. I got my 360 card and never got charged. I haven't even received emails asking me to resign up.

As for the wii card, it was weird. I tried to use my email address again. It went through on the wii website but not on true.com. It said I had already used it before so they wouldn't let me resign up for the free trial. I decided to reenter all the info with a new email address I freshly created. I just got an email on my other email address saying my card is being shipped. In other words, you may not even have to sign up on true.

It's not based on your email address. It works like a referral link - when you leave the Wii points site and are forwarded to true.com, you start a 'session' that keeps track of who should get credit for the signup. As long as you sign up during that session, it will count as credit for your points...even if the information you enter differs between the sites.

Roufuss, where on the account are you seeing that it was cancelled? I just logged into mine and I can't find any info about it. If I go to "My Account" all I get are options to change my email. I don't even see the ones to restrict what messages are being sent to me.

I did just see the scary notice about prosecuting married people for fraud . Well, I cancelled ASAP and want nothing to do with it - but they keep sending me stuff.

It bothers me a bit that the guy said I was extended for a month when I called to cancel (he said I already was - not that it was an offer to do so).

I got told that same thing, that it was extended for a month - I said it didn't matter.

I think I went to something like "My subscription" and it was right there, because after it was showing me subscription options.

Ah, then I do appear to be free of them because under "My Account" all it says is "Subscribe Now!". When I click on that it offers me a 3 day free trial and says it already has my info on file so all I need to do is click one button to "resubscribe". I hastily clicked "back" instead ;). So I do appear to be out of their system. I still don't see options to change the emails though - I think I'll just send that email account (which I created on my mail server just for this) to :blackhole: and I'll be done with them for good. I don't think I'll be doing this again should it come up for MS points or something again ;).

NOW, I just need to get that damn Wii Points card (or Visa gift card) and all will be well.

Anyone notice TRUE.com taking $1.00 out of your account? They have done it twice so far, once for signing up for the Wii Points Card, and again when I signed up for the XBLA Points Card.

When it showed as processing, I figured it was for verification purposes but it's now been fully processed and I'm out $2.00 bucks.
Just a couple of questions before I try this, what do they ask you when you call to cancel, and how did you respond.
They mention that I didn't even set up my profile to get the best benefit from true.com. I told him that I didn't feel the need for the service so he cancelled it. Since I used the same cc information, he mentioned about my other account from the xbox 360 card.

I figure the same thing. Think of it as if you orders these for 1 a piece... it is still better than 20 a pop.
Just a couple of questions before I try this, what do they ask you when you call to cancel, and how did you respond.
Same as everyone else... they asked me why I cancelled, I told them it wasn't for me, they asked again and brought up some features, I told them again in a stern voice that this service isn't for me and I would like to cancel immediately.

The guy sighed, spent a few minutes typing, and said I was cancelled and to have a nice day.

I guess...

I just thought I should mention it, not everyone likes being charged for "nothing." Regardless of the monetary amount.

When I was having the troubles with my card Wells Fargo told me there was a $1 charge from true.com. But they said it was just a typical pre-authorization that would go away. In any case, I said it was OK because it was mine (unlike some of the others). Well, some of those bad ones from Canada showed up as items on my account a few days later. The true.com one did not show up. So I think it is somewhat of a glitch that your charges actually came through Yukine. I certainly don't think they are supposed to. But like lordopus says, I wouldn't mind it in this case (as long as I get my card!).

Oh, and just to relay my cancellation experience as mine was much easier than I expected. The guy was having computer troubles and took a long time to get my account up (like 10-15 minues, literally). When he finally did he said "it looks like you were extended for 30 days already". I was kind of annoyed by that but just said I'd like to cancel anyway. He did it, no further questions or comments. Except for all the waiting for his computer to work, it went well.

Yeah, I called them and they are going to be sending $2.00 to my account. ;)

I've cancelled an account with them twice, and it always takes like 3 minutes tops. Besides a minor mistake on their part, everything goes very smoothly.

Well, I haven't been keeping up with how this story is unfolding for people, but I haven't seemed to have any problems (no $50 true.com charge), and I got a $20 Visa Gift Card because they weren't able to obtain any new WiiPoints cards; which is fine by me! $20 is $20.

What was peculiar though, was two days after it said it shipped, I got "two" emails saying my "WiiPoints" card was shipped...it's been a week since then, so I suppose it was just an error. Although getting $60 in stuff would be nice. =D

I don't recall seeing a $1.00 True.com charge though. *checks account* Nope no charge.

Signed up, hopefully I get my confirm email tommorow so I can cancel this.

How long did it take you guys to get a confirmation, I'm like checking my emails every 10 minutes to see lol.

Typically, 2 - 3 days.
well after 3 months my cards finally been shipped.
did u get a wii points card or a visa card like some other people have gotten...

Ugh now I'm starting to get a bit worried, I emailed the OP's link (not true) to see if maybe I deleted it in spam, not even thinking, or they just haven't sent it yet.. i'm canceling it by tuesday either way.

Whew, got the confirmation from the promo, canceled.. but I'm still able to acess with no email saying I did cancel. I do have a confirmation number so I can just call back in an hour if its not done.

Overall pretty easy experience, maybe a 10 minute phone call.. Simply asked if it was a problem with the website, I said no and he said ok thats fine.. Lets see if he really canceled.

Edit- So I called and talked to a lady, she said that yes it is canceled but the 7 day free trail still goes. I'm still wary but I don't care, the prepaid gift card has like $0.75 anyway.

For those of you who got the points, how long from the time of the shipping e-mail did it take to get the card? I got the shipping confirmation on 2-1. How much longer?

You might get Monday, if not... I'd imagine sometime this week.

hey all. I signed up for true cancelled it. got my emails from letsplaywii dot com.

"Yes we did get the confirmation for you. If you didn't receive the email
a few minutes ago let me know and I'll resend it.

got an e-mail a week later on 1-8-07 letting me know of the delay.

Thats it. Last email from them. I have emailed them twice since with no reply. am I stiffed or just keep waiting. any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I got my $20 gift card. It took several weeks, and instead of Wii points, the gift card came with a note saying that the Wii points card have been very hard to come by. I am only slightly miffed because the cards don't include the extra tax that Washington state includes, so I get stiffed around $1.50.

Got my Visa gift card last week. I tried to go to the web site to register the card so that I could use it to buy some Wii points, but I got an error saying the card had already been registered. Anyone else experiencing any problems with the Visa gift cards?
When you get your Visa Gift Card, you'll have to activate it to use it over the internet. Mine was already activated, but you still have to set an address so it doesn't get declined.

Do that here: https://secure.mvnt4.com/tcf/OnlineBanking/online_banking_gift_cards.jsp

Since mine was already activated, the password they set happened to be the last six-digits of the card.
I haven't received a gift card, but it looks like they might come activated. Hopefully this helps.
