If you use the code GIMAG on theeca.com (found in an article of the new Crackdown GI issue), you can receive a free, full 1 year membership (I think it's only for new accounts). You do need a credit card to sign up, but if you cancel before the 1 year is up, you won't be charged. This is a great deal for the free amazon discount. Be sure to use the coupon soon, because the article doesn't mention the expiration for the coupon.

Enjoy guys!
dallascowboys

P.S. Now all of CAG can have an ECA membership!

Also, after you enter your CC number and the coupon, the page after lets you check everything before you submit your order. That way you know that the coupon worked and you won't be charged.

LinkinPrime Edit:

Check your spam filters for the confirmation link, if you signed up for the newsletter you will get 2 emails, one for the newsletter and one for the membership. For some reason the newsletter one showed up in my inbox and the membership was in my junk mail folder, so keep an eye out.

You weren't kidding. Ok I found this on page 28. All credit goes to jacknicklson for the original faq (1-6).

ECA/Amazon FAQ

1. I can't get into the member's area/can't find out where to pay. Help!

After the initial registration email, you should receive a second email linking you to a payment page. You can request that this email be resent if need be. Make sure to check your junk/spam folders as well.

2. Will this work on consoles?

No. Games and most accessories only. Physical point cards are also eligible, but not digital point codes.

3. Do these work on Quick Picks/Deals of the Day/Trade-in Coupons?

Yes, Yes, and Yes!

4. How do I get my Quick Picks to show games?

http://betterelevation.com/2009/02/1...old-box-trick/
This should be a basis to get it to work for whatever you are interested in. It is not a science though so be persistent.

5. Does this work on Pre-orders?

Yes, it does. The price will also automatically take off 10% of whatever the final selling point is due to the Pre-Price Guarantee that Amazon offers.

6. I have heard that these offers have expired/been removed, is this true?

There have been a few instances where codes expired or they ran out but The ECA and Amazon have usually rectified the situation within a week or so. Also, the Terms of Service state that any membership benefits can change or be canceled without any notice so keep that in mind when signing up.

7. Double and Triple stacking

This is no longer possible. Don't bother trying. Originally when the ECA would run out of codes and switch to a new batch members were able to stack codes. A glitch in Amazon's system would keep older codes in your account, and it was possible to add codes from the newer batches to obtain more than 10% off. Amazon found out about this, hence the reason the codes are currently down/ being worked on.

8. Begging/Asking for codes

This is not allowed. If you beg/ask for a code you will be permabanned. No questions asked.

9. Selling codes

Definitely a big no no. If you do this, you will get reported to the ECA and your account will be shut down.

10. If I make a pre-order with a code a cancel it, will the code still work?

Yes. Codes should remain in your account but again they will no longer stack. It is one code per game. Amazon and the ECA are working on codes tied into our accounts but this option is not yet available.

11. If I already have a pre-order made, can I add a 10% off code to it?

You can not add a anything to an order once it is made except a gift card. You can try emailing Amazon customer support and ask them to add it. Generally they have no issue doing this for you but it's a crap shoot.

12. What if I already have a pre-order with the old codes applied? Should I be worried?

We don't know definitively, but chances are good that Amazon will not touch the pre orders we have already made.

A SCARECROW!? That right there is an instant buy. Everyone needs one to keep the crows away from their corn! The only question is: does it qualify for ECA?
I think thats a game coming out for the wii here in the next couple months..

A total of 3 enemy types endlessly fly at you and you control the flailing of the scarecrow with the wii motion plus and the wii fit board.. Day one purchase. Preorder bonus is a "real" piece of straw, and a candy heart.

And they show this image:

is that supposed to be trick or treaters...

I can see the anger now if you got a bunch of kids wet... it would be funny though.
Anybody can PM a code? I joined eca today, but no code available now. trying to get a game. thanks
LOL, GTFO with this crap

And yes there is your welcome to CAG asshole comment

Wow! Really glad I stopped by today. I forgot it was the 30th and its the drop dead date for the codes.

I used my last one... and the 27.5 dollars I got for Fallout 3 (360) to buy Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition for 23.79.

I hadn't bought and if the DLC yet... So I just saved 7 bucks on it.
LOL, GTFO with this crap

?? lmao a little harsh there bud, I also joined the ECA just last night but the code generator seems to have been down since then, and like the poster, I signed up in the hopes to immediately buy something on Amazon. Guess some CAGs end up emphasizing the 'A', aye?

Since they are day codes though, it'd appear they wouldn't be any for anyone, I would hope October 1st will correct the issue...
Should be noted...new codes stack. And in fact, you can TRIPLE STACK!
If that's the case then I may have to pre-order Uncharted 2 from Amazon!
Should be noted...new codes stack. And in fact, you can TRIPLE STACK!
get the F out of here!!! Really? Can you please post your order details w/ discounts pease? This is too good to hear. Sucks since I got lucky and got Uncharted 2 on GB w/$5 off credit glitch. No way im cancelling that order if I could tripple stack as I did a double on that one. IF i could tripple stack plus another 10% off GB then I would but it took me a long time to get it sadly.

On a somewhat related note, has anyone ever cancelled an order that was for a Gold Box item and have it show up in their Gold Box again at a later time?

Seeing as GT5 has been pushed back until March, I'd like to cancel it, hope it shows up in my Gold Box, and stack an ECA code or two along with my $10 credit from KH.

Yes. I've had items appear back in my Gold Box the next day after canceling them. They definitely can come back at a later time if you cancel.

Yes people have gotten games again. Though, AS OF RECENTLY, there might be some problems with getting things to show back up again after ordering/canceling.

Thanks, guys. I think I may just go ahead and cancel and hope it shows up again. Even w/o the Gold Box discount, using multiple ECA codes plus the $10 coupon will bring it lower than what I'd be paying now.

There's almost no sense to the Goldbox stuff I get. Often it's at least stuff in the right areas (games, books in series I'm reading, etc.), but sometimes it's completely random junk I'd never buy, and it's very, very rarely a game I'm actually going to buy at a given price.

I'm trying to think...I guess I actually had New Super Mario Bros. show up like that, which was awesome, but that's super rare.

For those who requested - here is the insane order I placed with my triple stacked ECA. I basically ordered anything I can think of for the next year because I imagine some of the older codes will stop working today. I apologize to those who will be angry about this or think I was abusing the system. I had a few coupon codes in stock because I keep waivering about NBA 2k and NBA Live (have cancelled a few orders). I do admit that I checked ECA for a new code this morning and then tested it out because I was curious to see if it would stack.

Preordered (for PS3 or Wii): Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy XIII Versus, God of War 3, Last Guardian, Demon's Souls Deluxe, Heavy Rain, Gran Turismo 5, Fallout 3: Game of the Year, Metroid: Other M, New Super Mario Bros, Mario Galaxy 2, and both NBA Live 2010 and NBA 2k10 (will cancel one later probably):

hmm newer batch NOT stacking. Have GOW collection in GB. Tried cancelling preorder, reordering and it only takes one ECA code.(wont stack new codes, only uses previous code) Seems jcarlon got old batch codes.

I can't get mine yet. This is SOOOO annoying how I have to wait 24 hours. Wish at least they'd just reset that at midnight. I have to collect a few so I have them ready if I see some deal, since the first time I learned of this was when I tried placing a second order immediately after ordering New Super Mario Bros.

Wolfpup, you will pretty much always get junk in your quickpicks. Some people get days of only games and such, but that usually runs dry in a week or so and they're back to just a few items a day with the rest being junk. And by that price comment, you know quickpicks are only 5% off(+amazon's advertised price cut)? Shooting for ineligible items, brutal legend, ACII, demon's souls deluxe etc is what screws a lot of people up thinking they're messing up or doing something wrong, so checking Jodou's faq and what items have shown up is a good first start if you haven't already.

Shoot, if thats the case, I'm sorry. Hope I didn't screw you over by causing you to cancel your previous pre-order. Guess people should hold off on canceling orders until someone else reports some success with this.

Looks like IronSerif might've gotten it to work above, but he didn't specifiy which codes worked and which one was rejected.

This did work for me, the discount applied three times.

Wooooowwwww.... This double stacking stuff is wild. I just preordered every game I'm remotely interested in into 2010 using two 10% codes that stacked. I'll probably end up cancelling a fair number of these before the time comes. If only I'd have had a third, older code...

no biggie since I recently had GOW on my quick picks so I can cancel and reorder again through today and stll get the GB discount though others should not try it. I used a code but its tied to my account so next game will have ECA applied already.

It seems the codes do triple stack if you have one from each batch. I added the new code to my account and it automatically applied the code to my items.

wait can we order multiple and get the 3X ECA code? Is that a new glitch? Sorry to be saying this but this might be great if you are indeed buying tons of 2010 games. What if you remove some games from the whole orderr? DO you get to keep the 30% off for the rest of the games?

Yep only two worked. I was able to get two codes from theeca.com site on one computer (it stopped generating after 2 codes), then generated two new codes from another computer (maybe these things are cookie based, haven't tested that).

I tried entering 3 of them, but only got a discount for 2 codes, even though it seems all three were accepted.

And since I already had Amazon Prime, I created a new amazon account w/ a different email address and signed up for 3 month trial of prime, then emailed my current/main amazon account an invite to use the same prime trial. After that, I refreshed the page and was able to get free release date shipping.

It's been a great day :) Hopefully others can get the same deal!

If you're stacking codes, while that does sound awesome for you. It IS abusing the system. I'm certain that Amazon will cancel all pre-orders related to stacking codes. The more people that do this, the more likely it is that they'll cancel orders.
Should be noted...new codes stack. And in fact, you can TRIPLE STACK!
Ahahahahahhahahahahaha! We're going to put Amazon out of business at this rate. Quick, everyone use these up so we can quadruple stack lulz!

so what type of codes are we talking about? We have 3 types? I know one type are the ones that being with "L". 2nd batch is the ones that expire today?(9/30) and the 3rd type are the most recent ones?(ones only available 1 per 24H)?

Thanks for the info! I hadn't heard about his FAQ. I didn't realize stuff in your cart can't can't show up in your goldbox.

The annoying thing is I use my cart to track game prices for stuff I might want...so I'm not sure what to do. If I delete them, I can't track them easily like I do, but if I don't, they'll never show up in my Goldbox...

Okay, so I wanted to place an order for Modern Warefare 2 and when I got to checkout, 2 from old ECA codes I'm assuming, were already applied. I can't remove them, so I'm guess I'm with you guys. ;)

Separate account, I guess. Seems like the next best thing so amazon doesn't think you're tracking them in any way on your main account.

Thanks! Hadn't thought of that. Worth thinking about if that's more or less annoying than other methods. I guess I sort of understand their logic, but the thing is I never order 9/10ths of the stuff in my cart, and I can't be the only one :(

Didn't you say one of yours didn't work? Was that one one of those you generated today?

From what I gather (as I haven't tried it myself), people who got these to stack had 1 older code (starts with L), 1 old code (starts with J), and one current one (starts with number). One of the codes you used from today might just have been one sitting in your account already (a J code, like what is showing up on my ECA page right now since I haven't generated a new code).

So which codes did you end up using?

That is, indeed, total madness. Does anyone know whether Amazon or the ECA has an official policy on this double- and triple-stacking stuff?

Not that I am being holier-than-thou or begrudging my fellow CAGs their CAGness--but I just pre-ordered New Super Mario Bros. Wii for under $40, with a $10 gift card thrown in, and that seems like a pretty good deal to me. I'd hate to see everyone lose this constant stream of very good deals in the pursuit of a few unbelievably good deals.

It will eventually stop and Amazon has such good rapport with consumers I don't see them canceling, banning, or otherwise policing the orders. My only question would be which dies first, the stacking or the codes altogether?

One thing I do know: I just saved 30% on my gaming purchases by switching to Amazon!

Well I certainly don't want to screw anything up for anyone else. If thats a possibility I can still cancel the order. Although won't the codes still be in my account automatically?

EDIT - just realized there are pages of debate over this. Sorry, hadn't really read much of that before ordering/posting. I don't have a lot of money right now so I was simply looking to save as much as I can over the next year. Yes I realize not having enough money and buying a ton of games seems counter-intuitive but I just sold a ton of old dvds and cds and have put that money aside for this type of thing.

Anyways, if I need to cancel the order for the good of everyone else, I will.

Hey, you're just reaping the benefits of an irresistible loophole. Nothing wrong with that.

I was just hoping to be clear about whether this is in fact a secret loophole, or something from which Amazon and the ECA politely turn their heads, or something that is technically against the rules.

Edit: I just read your edit. I will go and read those pages of debate. Thanks.

Ok I was able to generate 4 total unique codes today (all started with a number). Two codes from one computer and two codes from another computer.

I input 2 codes first, and they were accepted fine and the proper discount appeared, bringing Uncharted 2 down to $45 and some change. I tried entering the third code, and the code appeared to be accepted, but no further discounts were applied.

Hope that was a bit more clearer!
