Heard about this promotion on my local radio station and it is confirmed on the Golde Corral website. Here is the promotional flyer from www.goldencorral.net

The past few weeks the Clarksville, TN area has been doing things for all the soldiers. I'm just glad someone finally decided to include Veterans.:p I'm glad organizations and businesses are doing alot for the Armed Services, but it just seems faddish. While I was in I rarely saw the support I've seen lately. I did experience some of it during my last two years in the service, but it seems everyone is doing it because of the war. Once the troops get back from Iraq/Afghanistan as a whole I see this dying down. I wish more professions got discounts, especially underappreciated ones like teaching. Eventually everyone has something good happen to them and I'm glad to see our troops getting continued support.:)

Hehe, teacher appreciation day ftw.

Well......since I just ate dinner its kind of late for me.....but it is nice to see that they are finally doing something nice for us.
Like neudog said, these promotions usually last for about a month when the Soldiers come back from a deployment, and then they die out. Car salesmen are criminals near Army posts as they drain money off of young troops who for the first time have a decent bank account after spending a year in Iraq....

I remember when they did this last year.... hubby and i drove by like a half an hour before it was to start there was a line of at least 60-70 people stretching around the building outside and we said HELL w/ that.... so really, if you are buy a big base it wasn't worth the effort.

This is what happened tonight. It was suppose to start at 5 p.m., so I went to CC and TRU before heading over. I headed over around 4:45 and am I glad I made that decision. By 5:30 there must have been 20-30 outside and that was only one entrance.

If I ever ran a business I would always have a discount for soldiers that never expired. I've always respected soldiers, but never knew what is was like until my cousin went to Iraq. I agree with everyone, there are discounts for GI's when they come back then they die off.

My cousin made a good point. He said when your a solider people truly only care about you 3 times when your a GI.
1. When you leave for deployment
2. If you die in the field
3. When/if you return home.

it sad but in general its true for mainstream America. Or everyone that doesn't have a loved one in service.

I've made the same point to friends and family. It shouldn't be a suprise that our country is this way just look at the days that followed 9/11. Everyone was all Patriotic and you couldn't turn a corner without seeing red, white, and blue. Now you see the occasional flag in a yard or a bumper sticker, but overall the country really doesn't care anymore IMHO.

I appreciate him now and I'll appreciate him 40 years from now. So... a hug and salute from Gwen to Citizen's Cousin.

Because the men and women who have served now, and years ago, are the reason we have our liberties today.

Part of it is human nature; no one wants to think that people are out there who hate you.

Part of it is cowardice; if you recognize a threat you have to do something about it... either deal with it or cower in a room and let it have it's way. A lot of people lack the guts to stand and fight, the other people don't want to face the fact that they'd cower in the room.

Part of it is ignorance; they truly do not see that there is a culture who hates us, and every country which does not follow their doctrine.

Anyway. I'm not a huge fan of Golden Corral, but I will make a point of eating there. When I like what a company does, I put my money down on their counters. They support the military, I'll buy a meal from GC.
