Not sure if this is the correct forum but you can get the Metroid Prime 2 demo disc if you subscribe to Nintendo Power, or register 5 games plus your Nintendo Gamecube. Alternatively, you can get the demo disc by buying the Nintendo Gamecube Metroid Prime package for $99.99, which includes Metroid Prime plus the bonus disc that contains the MP2 demo, two trailers, gallery and a history of the Metroid series.

Anyone want to share a couple of registration codes?

well, not all of it.....i probably spent 60$ on dew.....but we buy it and drink it anyways......so the dew codes were kind of an extra!

They're not making you go and buy a GameCube and five NGC games to get a demo ... it's a REWARD for people who have already bought those five games (and thereby directly supporting Nintendo since they're published in-house). They're rewarding you for supporting their game company.
Quick question, I have enough game codes to get the free demo, but if I register them, are they essentially wasted? As in if they do another Zelda CE type promotion will the codes I used not be valid anymore? Or do they carry over for all give aways like this?
The number of games you have registered will count towards the next promo, i.e. they will carry over...assuming they do another promo.

Speaking of Club Nintendo, has anyone seen what you can get for 600 points?

Send in your SP and they send it back in a new Samus colored casing, I hear it even has the "S" logo on the lid. Screw SP Retro, I want that!!!!

Thanks I went ahead and registered the stuff I was saving for the demo disc.

It just doesn't make sense, strategically. Demo disks shouldn't be rewards, they should just be there. Stores should give them out, and they should be packed with magazines in shitty cardboard sleeves. They should be released to get an idea of the company's product to as large of a potential audience as possible. Instead, this seems to get the demo to a relatively small audience.

you forgot one important detail. they are rewarding you for supporting their company...in the last 9 months or so. the problem with this is that these last 9 months haven't been that great for nintendo published games. those classic gba games aren't worth $20 each, crystal chronicles and four swords don't appeal to most people because of the connectivity requirements, mario party games aren't worth $50, those cartoon things for gba are a terrible idea, and the remaining games have mixed reviews. custom robo and pokemon aren't worth $50 in most peoples' eyes, wario ware for gamecube is too similar to the gba version to warrant an additional $30 purchase, and who the hell cares about hamtaro? and 1080 was just terrible.

my point is, there is a pretty good reason why so many people don't have 5 codes yet. mario kart is worth owning, metroid zero mission is great but short, i hear that mario and luigi is pretty cool, and mario golf and mario & dk seem like they could be good. i guess those are the only 5 that are potentially worth the price...slim pickings.

I'm better of buying that Gamecube bundle for the demo disc, since I was fixin' to get a new Gamecube and copy of Metroid Prime.

In any case I can't wait to see the high prices this demo will fetch on ebay.

Dont you get the same codes per game, I registered mine and im getting the disc, shipping August 20th.

If the codes work let me know:

Metroid Zero Mission:
AXL ZS3V PAQ7 NJR

Mario VS Donkey Kong
TXK YW7T J7RT G6T

Wouldn't you be pissed if the demo only came packed with a certain issue of Nintendo Power that only subscribers got? Or if you went to a store to pick up the demo but they were selling it for $20? Or it was only a penny but some asshat grabbed every copy of the demo before anybody else could get it?

I applaud what Nintendo did with the Zelda Collector's Disk and here with the MP2 Demo. They are making it availible to anybody who wants a copy and ensuring that everybody can get one.

I had enough to get the demo. I like the overall concept also (registering games = freebees) But 5 games is high for a demo. It only took 2 to get the Zelda collection and this doesn't sound anywhere near as good.

Anyone could post their PIN Numbers (already Registered)
(or PM Me? I just wanna figure out something)
Mine are:

MK:DD : MTL-4LK9-VKA2-E44
Metroid Zero Mission: EEH-PJPU-FDRX-4JZ
Pokémon Colosseum: 73E-E4F9-WX5K-XJM
MarioParty5: Z44-TF8U-PZM7-3C3
1080Avalanche: CED-DFDS-J4TX-E3F

(they are already registered, I post them just for fun o_O)

Don't bother trying to figure out codes, I have 3 MKDD codes and they are all completely different from each other and the one Knuckles posted.

For all the people complaining about this, it is a reward for Nintendo fans. I had 11 games registered (actually only own 9) and was waiting for a promotion like this to happen. It's an awesome deal for us Nintendo fans because we don't have to reserve anything to get it, we don't have to worry about calling a bunch of stores to see who has the demo in. We don't have to pay anything for the demo and we get it shipped right to our doors just for being a Nintendo fan and buying games we would normally buy even if this promotion didn't exist. I hope they have more promotions like this that reward Nintendo fans.

I've found something with the codes, maybe a coincidence with like 10pins or maybe a regularity, I'd need some more to confirm :\ (Pm Me? if you dont wanna post in public...)

btw, Im doing this just for fun, I'll support nintendo because they rock! so if I find something I won't tell it to everybody, and won't use it to register games I don't have...

And I can't wait for the MP2 Demo ;)

Hey Togepy, I feel the same way.
I got an e-mail yesterday from Nintnendo about getting this MP2 demo disk. Since I already have more than 5 games registerd (11 I think) and my GC, GBA, and GBA SP I already automatically qualified for this promotion. All I had to do was click the link, log in, and request the demo. Simple and now I will patiently wait for the disc to arrive. Nintendo is rewarding its fans in a fair way.

You're right, Pokemon and Wario aren't worth their listed prices. I got my Pokemon for $35 (price cut) on 7/4 in a Target in Pasadena. Then I recently bought Wario Ware in the San Jose Fry's for $20. That scores me 2 more codes to add to my three. This promo sounds more likely a way for Nintendo to get rid of all those "limited edition" platinums by making the Metroid Prime bundle.

You'll notice that all of the games on the list are recent, first party Nintendo issues. That's probably why none of the games you mention have codes.

As for where to find them, they're printed on the Nintendo Power subscription card tucked behind the manual.

thats not really true.........im a big NIN fan........but i have good taste in games ....im 25 yrs old, and games like mario party and pokemon dont excite me...........plus i use Gamespot reviews to help make informed purchases...and not just buy cashcow games forced upon me.......so i dont usually buy games tha t rate less than 8.5 (at least not for full price....ill wait till the 5-15$ used...or sale goes on...if its a game that seems interesting. but if it were for nintendo fans...i would be included.......and i dont have 1 game on that list....(i own 9 GC games btw)........

im a fan.........i dont get the demo........i have the same number of GC as u do.........what makes u a better fan (which is what that is saying if they are only doing this offer for the "fans"..???).

thats not really true.........im a big NIN fan........

Actions speak louder than words. Nintendo would oviously care more about the people that actually buy thier games than the ones who don't.. yet claim they do. Same with Sony, same with Capcom, same with square. The videogame industry is a business first and foremost.

but i have good taste in games

Riiight. Sure you do. I highly doubt you could even name a plausible set of metrics by which one could deem a game good. Pure opinion doesn't work for that.

....im 25 yrs old, and games like mario party and pokemon dont excite me...........

The fact that you are old enough to not only have graduated high school, but college as well deeply scares me.

plus i use Gamespot reviews to help make informed purchases...
Using one source out of the multiple hundreds that exist. Yeah, that makes you informed.

and not just buy cashcow games forced upon me.......
Yep. Apparently Nintendo is now using mafia tactics to move games.

so i dont usually buy games tha t rate less than 8.5 (at least not for full price....ill wait till the 5-15$ used...or sale goes on...if its a game that seems interesting. but if it were for nintendo fans...i would be included.......and i dont have 1 game on that list....(i own 9 GC games btw)........

I guess that works, so long as you think everyone else is smarter than you and inherently know more about videogames and your taste in videogames. Lots of good, solid sleeper hits sink under the radar.
Because lots of people act the way you do, games like Suikoden 2 will languish for years (while people who don't use reviews a bible play the heck out of it) until some guy on a website says how great this old game is.. and now its RARE!!!

...im not whining or anything...i just disagree totally w/ your interpretation! i thinks its more for the $$....not loyalty

How does one express consumer loyality? By consistantly purchasing products from a specific company. If people are buying decent number of new Nintendo games, they are obviously more loyal than the people who just buy a game every now and then, if the brain trusts that run the game magazines and websites like it.

...and MP is a game geared toward adults...

This matters why? Women are more apt to play palor or board style games, as evidenced by the user base of online games. Look at that list.
Wow, Mario Party and Warioware. Hmm.
I guess your definition of adult is lacking.

whereas that is NOT the case w/ the majority of the games on that list....and the ones that are...like 1080--a sports game which the sports genre is all ages....is the weakest game representation of snowboarding....ssx3 is available on GC and it is 10x better by MOST all review sites mages (that arent on nintendos payroll---a la nintendo power).......

You can't follow even one idea to it's conclusion, can you?
Most of your claims are specious at best, and none of them actually seem to mesh together to form even one cohesive or mildly convincing argument.

Wow, what a thread this has turned into, and well, I really want this demo, and I'm sure I posted like 3 times by now that I just need one final code, and I actually have 8 of those games on the list, but I didn't buy them all new (only 4 of them I got new), so I'm left out in the dark, if anyone has any codes for games that aren't Mario Party 5, MK: DD, Mario and Luigi, or Mario vs. Donkey Kong, please let me know and PM me, I know a few people that are on here that do have ways to get codes or otherwise, and playing this demo and getting the disc would be great to add to my Gamecube collection (read game collection in signature), and Metroid Prime probably is my favorite game I own...

How cheap is "cheap"?

Because I don't think paying for a code is much of a value, but, I'll do what it takes, but before I buy a code, I'd like to see if someone, anyone, would donate just one code for my cause here, but I'll keep him in mind.

Um... so um, I could use a... another, code. If anyone has a spare... I just need one... um, yeah.

So, if you could. Y'know, pass one my way.

Thank you

I was holding out on a donation for a bit, but i figured I could bite the bullet for the $3 he was asking for. Think of it as paying for the shipping of the MP2 disc. :D

It was especially annoying for me b/c I have 6 games that could be registered. But I threw out the box for one and I never got the code for another. But Strell definitely saved by bacon.

One thing that puzzles me. Didn't you only have to register 2 games with them to get the last Zelda Collectors disc? If you only needed 2 codes to get all of those, why on earth should you need 5 codes just to get one demo?

I don't get it.. you'd figure it would be the other way around.

For anyone who needs codes, I have a bunch to sell for $3 each. No trades for other codes, sorry. But I will consider a trade for something else. (ex: last time around with the Zelda promotion I traded codes for Pac Man vs.)

Here is what I have:

Mario Kart (x2)
Pokemon Colloseum (x2)
Mario Party
Wario Ware
Is It Worth It To Order Nintendo Power For This
I don't think so. I'm a big Metroid fanboy, but paying $20 for this demo is a bit extreme.

This is one crappy promotion . . . I think I'll wait for the full game release.

If Nintendo wants to stir interest in the game, they should give the demo away for free.

Agreed.

No-one wants to help me in my researches and post some ALREADY REGISTERED PINs ? I think I am coming down with something...

DOes anyone know the cheapest route to obtaining the demo disk?

I have 4/5 registered games. I had crystal chronicles, but traded it in and never registered it...

What is the cheapest method of getting that 5th game? Any sales on the nintendo gba games?

The Nintendo Classic series are often on sale at CC or Target for $16 - and they're at Best Buy this week for $17. That's probably as low as you'll get for a Definite Yes-Sir code. Personally, I don't understand paying $16 for old games that I can plunk outta my closet, so you might want to either check the boxes at Blockbuster for extra codes or drop the $3 to buy one from Strell.

I have a better idea . . . do what I did!

Go to the web page with the promo, sign in . . . click a few pages and then leave . . . don't sign in again for a few months . . .

If 90% of people did this, rather than scrambling to get a completely worthless item (I've got dozens of old demos that are basically coasters. . .).

Nintendo might get the idea that this is a flat-out stupid and ineffective way to promote a great game.

Last year's Zelda disc was completely different! If this new Metroid disc contained the SNES Super Metroid title and they gave it away as a subscription or preorder bonus . . . THEN IT WOULD BE WORTH SOMETHING (sorry for the shouting :)

Ditto.

How hard would it be to throw a couple of classic Metroid games on there? The cost would be negligible, and the thing would actually have some value.
