If you could not tell, I'm waiting impatiently for Guildwars to come out.
You and me both man...That WWIIOnline game looks pretty cool, with all the battles on the map and stuff...how does it play though? I've never even heard of it...
And isn't there a free MMORPG out where you can make money from playing it? You like earn these points and then cash em into a bank account (or was it Paypal?). i wanted to try that one, lost the link tho...It was the same game where some guy paid like $10,000 for virtual real estate in it, I think.
WW2Online is a massively multiplayer war game. It has been out for 4 or 5 years now. Did not start out real good, but only gets better and better. You can fly, which ranges from fighters to bombers. Drive tanks of varying sizes. Trucks, antitank guns, anti-air guns, and infantry of varying descriptions. All play from the first person perspective.
Modeled after the real world counterparts. So if your in a tank, you have to change gears while in the drivers seat. Tanks have several positions which can be shared with other people. Same with aircraft and so on. Think they still need work in this area, but all equipment can be used solo. Can switch positions to use the gun on the tank for instance.
They mostly used western and northern part of France, Belgium, part of Germany, and some of England for the map right now. Can not remember the scale, but distance between towns is pretty good and hell if your on foot.
One hit can kill you. This is as close to realistic. They are trying very hard to make everything accurate. Has a supply system now. Can bomb factories in different cities to reduce production output of the enemy.
Infantry is alot of fun. Can be a rifleman or any of the machine gun types. They have added airborne troops not to long ago.
Buildings in the game look alright, just do not expect anything out of Call of Duty and such. Serves their purpose. Can go in most buildings and some of these buildings are capture points that help you seize control of a town and vice versa.
Just realized how much I got into this. The game is based on working with your side (German against the British and French) to capture towns and kill the enemy. There is alot more, but its probably better to try it or read up on it at the
WW2Online website.
This game is very much a sim and very realistic. You need a good machine to run it also. Make sure you have plenty of ram for the most part.
