My manager said that since the flyer says 7/13, we'll honor that. If the coupon stops working, we'll do it manually. This is probably just for my store.
These flyers arrived today at the store, I think they're meant to be put out Monday.

THESE DEALS ARE CURRENTLY ACTIVE! SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS!

***B2G1F on all "e" (used) rated games.

***B2G1F on all (used) XBox titles.

(of course, usual "equal or less" rule applies here)

***50% more trade in credit~! This applies ONLY to 360, PS3, Wii, DS and PSP games. Basically, bring in two (and two only) of your games and receive an additional 50% in credit towards your purchase. This DOES NOT stack with MVP.

If I am reading this correctly, according to this flyer, here's some of the trade-in prices AFTER the 50%:

Guitar Hero 2 (360) - $66
Command and Conquer 3 (360) - $45

This is only if they don't lower the trade-in values in anticipation of this promotion, though. If they don't, the 50% more thing will be MASSIVE profit for the customers (especially those of you who bought Tony Hawk at Costco).

As a side note, the prices for Ant Bully (Wii), Blitz The League (X360), Happy Feet (Wii), and Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (X360) all went back up. This could be temporary, but for now, Ant Bully is 29.99/24.99, Blitz is 19.99/14.99, and both Happy Feet and Grim Adventures are 29.99/24.99. The same thing happened with Far Cry. It went down to 19.99/14.99, then back up to 49.99/44.99, then back down again to 19.99/14.99. It may be temporary and the prices may drop back down, I'll post if they do.

//edit: Also, there's one misprint in the flyer. It says Resident Evil 4 Wii is 49.99. This is not the case. It is 29.99.

gamecrazy doesn't allow you to use store credit from another one right? this is what sucks, you can only use the store credit at the store you traded in at?

I was told that in order to do this deal I would have to use the trade to purchase a new game. Is this true? Has anyone else been told this? Also if so....I think i'll just buy MGS Acid 2 lol, (tis only $10) and keep the rest of the trade.
anyone know there trade in value of a psp system?
70

I noticed on my receipt that they did not tack on the extra 10% for MVP members before they gave the extra 50% bump. Can I still go back and ask for the 10%?

You get 50%, not 10%. It doesn't stack so you get 60%. It doesn't give you 10% and then the 50% on the extra 10% (meaning it doesn't go.. 30 + 10% = 33 + 50% = 49.50.) It just gives you the 50% instead of the 10%. 30-->45.

Get it put on a giftcard.

QUESTION PART PRICES

Puzzle quest DS
sims 2 pets DS

i forgot to take them in. I was thinking about putting puzzle quest on goozex but if i can get close to 25 to 30 i just take it to gamecrazy.

Its too bad they didnt take PS2 games. I got around 80 i would loved to dumpped off for 10
Why are you shocked on NCAA? We resell it for 14.99 used, 2008 comes out in less than a month.
Last i heard psp isnt getting ncaa 2008. Though i dont blame them 2007 sort of sucked. Sony should of listed it as NCAA FOOTBALL and not really 2007 cause its nothing even like 2007 for the ps2. (more like 2006)

I got it for like 8 bucks off blockbuster .... Its still a fun game to pick up and play when im bored. That is one reason i didnt dump it. IF they give me a good price of Sims 2 pets or puzzle quest both for ds and need a 2nd game maybe

I probally end up buying any of these or other Good rpg games that come out before xmas

Luminous Arc
heroes of mana
Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker
Brave Story: New Traveler
Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions
Jeanne D'Arc
Dragoneer's Aria

Hoshigami Remix: Ruining Blue Earth
are they pretty cool about putting store credit on a regular gift card or you need an MVP card for that?
why would you need an MVP card to put store credit on a gift card? are stores really crooked enough to tell you that you need an MVP card to do something simple like that?

you never need an mvp card to do any advertised deal at GameCrazy.

Also...and I plan on calling shortly, but someone could save me the time and it would be much appreciated...what does Farcry Vengeance for Wii bring in current trade-in value? I'm assuming it no longer brings $28 as reported on the wiki.

It doesn't matter. It's an older sports game.

Is this true?
Not sure how many times I've said this in the thread. STORE CREDIT DOES NOT COUNT FOR ALL STORES. It makes as much sense as you renting a movie at a Hollywood Video location on Cherry Street. Do you return it to the Hollywood Video on Ballpark avenue? No, you return it to where you rented it on Cherry street. Same deal with credit. If you want to use it elsewhere, put it on a giftcard.

Considering it's 20 new/15 used, I'd say about $6 or $6.50.

any clue why they cant accept the pinball game
any clue why they cant accept the pinball game
A number of reasons.. could've been that they had too many copies, could be that it doesn't sell so the trade value was lowered to 0.00.. dunno, some games are like that. I know Rainbow Six 3 (XB) and Socom 1 on PS2 are like that.

Ah, OK...I was assuming they gave you a card like EB/GS that could be used at any other location. Thanks for the clarification (again).

Question for you Scorch.

When I did the trade in deal at my local GameCrazy, I didn't get a giftcard with the balance. Rather the guy had my phone number and put it in as store credit. How long are these "store credit's" valid for? 1 month? 1 year?

Also, another stupid question, so apologies in advance. For example, if I went into my GameCrazy next week and wanted to pick up a brand new copy of Rainbow 6, would I be paying the tax on top of the game price (60 X 7% tax) or just the face value of the game? Because the guy at the store told me that since I have store credit from when I traded my games in, I wouldn't be paying any tax to pick up the game. Kinda confuzzled.

As long as they didn't tell you anything otherwise, I'd imagine it would legally have to last forever.

It depends on your state law, but since you're not exchanging cash for it, there's nothing to tax.

Doesn't it say credit is valid for 6 months. I could be wrong. I've been asking for gift cards just in case.

i must say this was quite the sweet deal. normally i absolutely refuse to trade in games and get ripped off, but in some cases i actually got back more than what i paid! heres what i got for my stuff. all totals are with the 50% added.

:360: Battlefield 2: $16.50
:360: The Godfather: $21.38
:360: King Kong: $9.56
:wii: Red Steel: $38.18

total store credit was $86, so i got DiRT and Resident Evil 4 Wii for $5 out of pocket. thanks a million scorch for letting us know about this deal!

Thanks for the heads up. PSP version correct? Bummer though because I found one at BB for $5 AC. Back it goes to BB then.
Ah, OK...I was assuming they gave you a card like EB/GS that could be used at any other location. Thanks for the clarification (again).
Um, they DO, if you ask for it. Note that for some god-awful reason they can only put whole dollar amounts on gift cards so you'll end up with some spare change on the store account.

I leave the credit on my "main" store (the closest one) account but always get it put on cards at any other stores. That paid off for sure when I had to drive to one of the furthest GC's in my area to get the Elite on launch day. I had about 4 cards that covered all but $18 of it ;).

It can be a hassle though as 50% of the time the clerk has no idea how to do it . So while it isn't as easy or convenient as EB/GS or even BB/GR it does work.
I think that not counting NBA HC would have been bullshit. NBA Live and 2k- series comes out every year, NBA street maybe every 2 or 3. NBA Street shouldnt be discarded, the game doesnt change every year or diminish in value.
This is no different than the EB/GS trade 3 get an extra $10 promo that ran most of last summer. They had the same restriction and in actual practice CAG's found that meant different things at different stores or even at the same store with different employees. Some were able to get the boost on Madden 2002, and some couldn't even get it on Hot Shots Golf or Burnout games (since they were racing sports games). It really just depends, but there's not much you can do about it - that's just how that clerk interprets it. Either try a different store or go again when someone else is working ;).

I'm almost positive my hard-ass local store would reject my Super Swing Golf for the Wii, so that's another reason I'm taking it in for the EB/GS deal. Also, another CAG just called that store and told me via PM that they have changed the terms of the deal - now it is ONE SET OF TRADES PER CUSTOMER. That is, you trade in two and only two games, and you buy one new game and that's it.

Edit - OK, according to the flyer all it says is "Non-sports games and trades must be for the following systems: Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PSP". Now certainly that could be interpreted to exclude ANY sports game, and not just yearly update-type games. The EB/GS promo specifically said "2005 and older" sports game so that was more clearly meant to exclude old Madden and NBA Live type games. And even THEN, some employees interpreted that to mean it excluded any sports game MADE in in 2005 or older (thus even NFL/NBA Street and things like that).

Forever, I think. The longest personal example i've seen on someone's account was three years.

Also, another stupid question, so apologies in advance. Correct.. if the amount of the game falls within store credit, you do not pay tax. If you have 58 in credit and the game is 59.99, you will pay the tax on the difference of the cost, not the tax on the full 59.99. I love our credit system and how it handles tax.

Decided to do it again, with two copies of XBLA Unplugged. $54.54 total towards a preorder of the Darkness.

Honestly, I'm thinking of converting all of my remaining Blockbuster credit (no, I won't abuse Unplugged) doing this. I think Gears of War is now $44.99 at BB/GameRush and it gets $45 after bonus at GC. So that alone would allow me use my credit at the more dependable GC. .
I was told my credit would last 6 months.
Yeah, Scorch is in CA (right?) and they probably have better consumer protection laws for that sort of thing (I know things like Target gift cards are not allowed to expire there whereas they do other places). I think I've seen the 6 month blurbs before as well but I'm not sure they enforce that, really. I'd get it put on cards unless you plan to spend money at a particular store regularly.

I think Scorch is in Tennessee. The receipt, at least in California, says store credit is valid for six months. But Gift Cards don't or can't expire in California, I think it is state law.

Went back to trade in some more games today and picked up Godfather Wii and Sonic & the Secret Rings. For anyone looking for a Wii game, Sonic was on sale for 39.99 (new).

Sorry io but Scorch lives in TN I know because I am one of the few people on CAG that has traded with him. I see a lot of my 360 games are about the prices I expected them to trade in for so I won't loose too much money by trading them in with this deal.
Sorry io but Scorch lives in TN. I know because I am one of the few people on CAG that has traded with him.
D'oh! I don't know why I thought that... I must be mixing him up with someone else... Anyway, I think GC has the 6 month thing in their fine print, but I don't really think that is enforced even in places where it is legal to do so. I'd still get it put on cards to be (more) safe.

Unless they changed it, i was told 6 months today BUT its 6 months since the last time anything happened.

So say you go in today. You got 6 months from today

You go buy something Oct 1 then you should have 6 months from oct 1

Something about their system cashes out anything that hasnt been active in 6 months.

I was told they think puzzle quest DS gets 18 before the 50% add on so i will probally run it up monday and see. Cant pass up 27 bucks for puzzle quest

Sadly i really have nothing else to trade in that i dont want to keep. The rest of my PSP games are all RPG games that i will probally never trade/sell off.

Ds seclection is just lame (all games are 7 or less) and not really worth cashing in
I was told my credit would last 6 months.
I wasn't told this, but my receipt does say at the bottom in a non-microscopic font size: "store credits valid for six (6) months." When I asked about it, they did tell me the same thing as what slidecage said - 6 months from the most recent activity.

I was going to put my GC credit on a giftcard like I always do at GR/BBV, but I opted to keep it as store credit. The other GCs are way too far of a drive and this GC is only 3 miles away. Plus, as Scorch mentioned, I like the idea of within-credit games being tax-free. Even a GC customer in line with me told me that if I'm sure that this GC will be the main/only store I visit, it's better to leave it as store credit so that I wouldn't lose any trade-in credit on tax with things bought with a giftcard.

Thanks Scorch for the info and to others for contributing.

I traded in at 2 stores and both made me buy new games. One store:

Traded:
Armored Core (PSP)
Bust a Move Deluxe (PSP)
Gunpey (PSP)
$4

Got:
Odin Sphere (PS2)
Obscure (PS2)

Other store I traded in 3 games and got $63. They let me put it towards preorders: Castlevania Dracula X and Super Mario Galaxy.

Could I buy a used game with the extra 50% deal? Or does it need to be new? *doubtful of finding MGS: The Twin Snakes new*
Could I buy a used game with the extra 50% deal? Or does it need to be new? *doubtful of finding MGS: The Twin Snakes new*
YMMV - I was told no, but apparently they can do whatever they want so it depends on the cashier.

Traded in Trauma Center (wii), Project 8 (ps3), Harvest Moon ds, and Gunpey and got $128 in credit. They didn't know about the deal 'till I came in and the guy didn't even make me buy a game. I still ended up getiting Super Paper Mario used, Halo 3 preordered, and an MVP card. Not sure if getting the card was a good move, but it already saved me $4 on SPM.

Great deal, hoping to find some more games to trade in.

Traded in GHII (360) and Gears of War for $60 even and $40.99 respectively.

Picked up Lost Planet (used $39.99 after MVP) and Odin Sphere + a MVP card w/ $.93 left over.

Thanks for the heads up, Scorch!

Yep, TN.

And I don't know where you guys are pulling the 6 month thing. The 6 month credit thing was a Rhino policy, it stays on GameCrazy accounts forever.

Something about their system cashes out anything that hasnt been active in 6 months.
I had one customer this past fall that was picking up a 360 game and he still had a preorder for Unreal Championship, the first one, on XBox on there. The system does not purge credit after 6 months, to my knowledge. If nothing else, lock it up in a preorder. Yeah yeah, it helps out the employee, but it also stays on the account forever. Or apparently forever. I haven't seen credits "disappear". I have heard of an employee getting terminated for using credit from an inactive account (6+ months), though.

DS Phat boy is around 40.. maybe less, since they recently dropped the DS price.. I want to say it's 79.99 used, if not 79 then 89.. last time I checked, the trade value was 40 even, but it's probably dropped since then.

Guitar Hero 2, as others stated, fetches 40 (down from 44 earlier last week), so 60 after the deal. There is an entry for a trade-in of GH2 game only, but it says "0.00".. either they haven't set the price, or we don't take it game only.
And I don't know where you guys are pulling the 6 month thing. The 6 month credit thing was a Rhino policy, it stays on GameCrazy accounts forever.
At the bottom of the receipts it states that store credit is valid for 6 months.
At the bottom of the receipts it states that store credit is valid for 6 months.
Maybe it's old and outdated, I don't know.. like I've said, I've seen it last a lot longer than 6 months, whether it's just on the account, locked in preorders, whatever.

GameCrazy store credit, if kept sitting on the account alone and untouched, does get purged after 6 months.

However, pre-order credit stays forever, and gift card credit stays forever. It's only when you have credit you do nothing with and leave it on your account.
Damn, good idea. I have alot of credit at Game Rush but it is horrible.

Yes, unfortunately, I think they are. But my thing is that GameRush seems to be dying and they don't always get in new games. For instance, they didn't get in DiRT at my local GR.

So I purchased a few things at GR with credit, traded them at GameCrazy and now I have DiRT with what was actually a gain in the amount of credit. Now I'm doing the same with the Darkness and thinking of doing the same to pre-order Blue Dragon at GC instead of taking a chance on GR getting it.

Thank goodness for this extra 50 percent deal.
