This may be extended until 07/13/07, according to this post from Scorch, which needs confirmation that he should get later today:
[quote name='Scorch']My manager said that since the flyer says 7/13, we'll honor that. If the coupon stops working, we'll do it manually. This is probably just for my store.[/quote]

These flyers arrived today at the store, I think they're meant to be put out Monday.

THESE DEALS ARE CURRENTLY ACTIVE! SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS!

***B2G1F on all "e" (used) rated games.

***B2G1F on all (used) XBox titles.

(of course, usual "equal or less" rule applies here)

***50% more trade in credit~! This applies ONLY to 360, PS3, Wii, DS and PSP games. Basically, bring in two (and two only) of your games and receive an additional 50% in credit towards your purchase. This DOES NOT stack with MVP.

If I am reading this correctly, according to this flyer, here's some of the trade-in prices AFTER the 50%:

Guitar Hero 2 (360) - $66
Command and Conquer 3 (360) - $45

This is only if they don't lower the trade-in values in anticipation of this promotion, though. If they don't, the 50% more thing will be MASSIVE profit for the customers (especially those of you who bought Tony Hawk at Costco).

As a side note, the prices for Ant Bully (Wii), Blitz The League (X360), Happy Feet (Wii), and Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (X360) all went back up. This could be temporary, but for now, Ant Bully is 29.99/24.99, Blitz is 19.99/14.99, and both Happy Feet and Grim Adventures are 29.99/24.99. The same thing happened with Far Cry. It went down to 19.99/14.99, then back up to 49.99/44.99, then back down again to 19.99/14.99. It may be temporary and the prices may drop back down, I'll post if they do.

//edit: Also, there's one misprint in the flyer. It says Resident Evil 4 Wii is 49.99. This is not the case. It is 29.99.

COUPON CODE:

The coupon code for this deal is +CGCTC50INC

[quote name='asianxcore']Big thanks to Scorch for this deal!!!

I didn't get as much as I intended for each game (-$17), because of the employees interpretation of the deal. I didn't want to make a fuss because the people working were really nice and helpful. I was happy to get as much as I did.

TRADED IN:

-King of Fighters 2006 (PS2): $13.20 (w/ MVP, no 50% bonus)
-Mario and Luigi: PNT (DS): $14.00 (w/ MVP, no 50% bonus)
-Mega Man ZX (DS): $14.00 (w/ MVP, no 50% bonus)
-Call of Duty 3 (Xbox 360): $30.00 (w/ 50% bonus)
-Lost Planet (Xbox 360): $45.00 (w/ 50% bonus)
-Ghost Recon: AW (Xbox 360): $11.00
-Marvel Ultimate Alliance (Xbox 360): $22.00

TOTAL CREDIT: $149.20
[/QUOTE]

I don't get it? Did their interpretation of it including DS games mean that it did not include DS games?? Also, did you not get the 50% on those last two 360 games? The $11 price for GRAW is the MVP price in the wiki from 3 days ago. And MUA was $33 with MVP just yesterday. Maybe that one dropped? (That may be my one BB->GC transfer possibility - I'll call in tomorrow to see what my GC offers for it).

Here's some trade in prices for the Wiki, either new or confirmations. These are all quoted with no increases. No 10% MVP bonus and no 50% promo bonus, just base trade in value.

:wii: Wii
Cars - $15
Call of Duty 3 - $22.73
Tony Hawk Downhill Jam - $25.45
Monster 4x4 - $25.45
SSX Blur - $25.45
Super Swing Golf - $20
Avatar - $15
GT Pro Series - $20
GT Pro Series with Wheel - $25.45
Madden - $11 (does not qualify for promo)
Super Monkey Ball - $7
Open Season - $6.55
Meet the Robinsons - $18

:ps3: PS3
Full Auto 2 - $22.73
Tony Hawk Project 8 - $31.82

:360: Xbox 360
Dead or Alive Extreme 2 - $25.00

Was told that they would not take DDRU unless it came with the pad. Will check alternate locations tomorrow.

I walked in with 8 games and walked out with $297 on gift cards =)

Edit: Added Open Season, Meet the Robinsons and SMB. Also edited price for Super Swing Golf and DOA X2.

[quote name='bob330i']
Armored Core:FF $14/$21 (no change)
Pokemon Pearl $16.35?/$24.54 (decrease)
Pokemon Diamond $16.35?/$24.54 (decrease)
Gunpey DS (x2) $20/$30 (no change)
True Swing Golf DS $7.50/$10.50 (no change)

Total on GC #2 - $134

The numbers for the Pokemon titles are odd. The closest I can figure pre-bonus is $16.35 which nets $24.53 post bonus. The important note here is that the trade in value went down a bit compared to the wiki ($18 pre-bonus).
[/QUOTE]

See, this where more wackiness comes in. WTF on Gunpey DS for $20/$30?? It had had an MVP price of $11 for quite a while. Or did you mean PSP? In that case, it is $9.90 with MVP. What is this $20/$30 thing, or is that for both copies combined? If so, DON'T DO THAT! (looking it it more I figure you must mean for 2 copies combined - again, please don't post them that way as then I need to figure out your meaning - everyone should just post what they get with 50% - I'll figure it out from there ;)).

Also, what is the problem with Pokemon? It matches the Wiki exactly. Wiki price is $18 (with MVP) which means a base of $16.36, which means $24.54 after 50% bonus.

[quote name='daminion']Here's some trade in prices for the Wiki, either new or confirmations. These are all quoted with no increases. No 10% MVP bonus and no 50% promo bonus, just base trade in value.

:360: Xbox 360
Dead or Alive Extreme 2 - $37.50
[/quote] That's what I got for DOA X2 WITH the 50% promo.

[quote name='daminion']You're correct. I updated my post.[/quote] lol Sorry, it's just that seeing your non-promo quote of $37.50 almost made me want to go back to CC and get another DOAX2 to trade in. ;)

Should've gotten the 50% on the DS games and Marvel and Ghost Recon. Seriously, Ultimate Alliance pulls $45 after the 50%.. insane

[quote name='parKer20']lol Sorry, it's just that seeing your non-promo quote of $37.50 almost made me want to go back to CC and get another DOAX2 to trade in. ;)[/quote]

LOL.

Also found another mistake. I had Super Swing Golf listed as post 50% bump, so I fixed that as well. Also added Open Season, Super Monkey Ball and Meet the Robinsons.

[quote name='daminion']LOL.

I was just about to point out that Super Swing Golf mistake. Either that or I was going to be pissed I traded it to EB when I could have gotten $45 for it . But, yes, $20 is exactly what I was told (and was in the Wiki - well, $22 with MVP). They sell it new for $39.99 so $45 after bonus would have been a bit strange.

So Avatar is $15, eh? I'll probably just return that to CC then - spending $17 of real money to get $22.50 in credit is not worth it IMO.

Agreed. That's why I used one of mine paired with Cars to pick up Pokemon today for my son :)

Avatar actually isn't that bad of a game if your a fan of the series. It has some RPG elements and is overall pretty fun to play.

I have alot of credit at gc now and put my name on the list for a wii. I was wondering if scorch or anyone knew exactley how that list worked and how often you get wii shipments?

x2

I need to know about this.

I inquired about a 360 elite and the guy said that i would be second on the list. Then he checked the other guy's reservation and saw that he had $0 down on it... he said he would bump me to the top of the list if I put some $$ down.

I passed, will wait for the next gen 360.

the manager told me they got a shipment last Friday, and that they got shipment about every 2 weeks.

Do you have to sign up on a list?

Thanks to IO and Scorch for the comments about my credit pull today. The extra $28-29 in credit I should've gotten would help me pay entirely for my NG: Sigma pre-order. It would also almost pay for my Blue Dragon pre-order.

Scorch/IO, I sent you both a PM with some questions I had.

yea you need to make sure they scan the 50% bar code with each game that qualify for the bonus. The forgot to do that and I ended up going back to get the missiing credit.

quick question....

Is it okay to trade 2 of the exact same game, and still get the 50%? There shouldn't be any problem with it at all, but just wondering if anyone has ran into any difficult employees

[quote name='62t']yea you need to make sure they scan the 50% bar code with each game that qualify for the bonus. The forgot to do that and I ended up going back to get the missiing credit.[/quote]

So there is a coupon to get the extra 50%? Wheres that at?

[quote name='HeSaveDave']So there is a coupon to get the extra 50%? Wheres that at?[/QUOTE]
it is not a coupon. It is a list of offers that they keep around the cash register.

[quote name='HeSaveDave']So there is a coupon to get the extra 50%? Wheres that at?[/quote]

He just means the one near the register for employee use. Unless they scan it once for every game you trade in you won't get the bonus.

Traded in The outfit for 10 and viva pinata for 15 after 50% bonus.

The retard tried to be sneaky and stick on a disc insurance charge for 2.00 on the new game I had to buy.

Luckily, I was brain dead at the time and thought I got shorted ( i didn't) but luckily noticed the 2.00 charge on there and went in to get him to take it off.
He tried to BS me about the computer doing it automatically. He had no control, and said it was impossible to remove or buy anything without it adding the insurance on there.

God I hate dicks who try to take advantage of you. I wonder how many people a day he does that to. After arguing with him for a while that I knew it wasn't an "automatic" thing, and that I wanted it taken off, I told him to call his DM and he waffled and said oh wait i figured out how to remove it. Asswipe.

I never go to my local GC because every time I have gone there, they have noobs staffing the store. Tonight's special ed employee looked really pissed that I was interupting his DS playing time and he had to come out of the back room to help me with my trade in. I got the evil eyes the whole time , like I had kicked his grandmother in the face.

Every time I go in its a new guy who doesnt know how to work the promotions or has to screw up the transaction somehow. This guy tonight had to call his manager on the phone to get instructions on how to ring it up even though he had the codes right in front of him on the memos.

The turnover rate at this particular store must be horrendous since no one is there long enough to learn how to properly check people out or what the meaning of good customer service is. Minimum wage is not an excuse to treat customers like crap and play your DS all night.

I'm not sure I want to brave another run over there to trade in some more games.

[quote name='TheFreshPrince']quick question....

There shouldn't be any problem with it at all, but just wondering if anyone has ran into any difficult employees[/quote] I had no problems trading in 2 copies each of Harvest Moon, Arcade Unplugged, and MUA. I had 3 copies of Unplugged, so I traded in 2 one day and the 3rd on another day with a different game.

Hmm...I'll have to go back tomorrow and try and get the credit back.

The less I have to pay out of my own pocket for Blue Dragon and NG: Sigma the better :)

Prices from today before and after bonus:

NDS Feel the Magic $5.00/$7.50
NDS Mr Driller $5.00/$7.50
NDS Polarium $6.00/$9.00
NDS Ridge Racer $6.00/$9.00
NDS Trace Memory $4.50/$6.75

PSP Armored Core $14.00/$21.00
PSP Bust a Move $14.00/$21.00
PSP Ridge Racer (1) $12.00/$18.00
PSP Virtua Tennis (1) $5.00/$7.50

Surprisingly great experience. The only clerk there knew exactly what I was talking about and the only restriction was that there was a minimum of two titles. No maximum, no hidden MVP fee, no mandatory purchase with every pair, no mandatory purchase at all actually. I only bought two fillers from EB and CC to stack my deck, I was really glad to be able to dump the rest at pretty much the same cost I picked them up on clearance in the first place. Ended up with around $107 in credit after all was said and done.

I was a little over anxious because I expected the deal to be like pulling teeth so I jumped right in and got tax free copies of The Darkness for 360 and Resident Evil 4 for Wii. In retrospect I really should have just sat on the credit or gotten a DS Lite but it completely slipped my mind until I was driving home.

Wow, I am trying to decide between those 2 games or using that credit towards a DS Lite as well. I only play my 360 and Wii now and those games are at the top of my list. However, I really want a DS Lite for some crazy reason even though really don't need a portable game machine.

[quote name='derder']I leave them wrapped in the car with the receipt and check to make sure they give me enough, then I go open the game in the car.[/quote]

You go in and ask about the trade-in value, then go back and bring them in?

I just grabbed the last Just Cause and Virtua Tennis 3 from the local CC and really don't want to be stuck with them.

What other games have that $16 unlisted sales price at CC, anyone know?

Trades today in Santa Clara, CA

Nintendogs (DS) - $12.73/$19.10 (just cart, but still full credit :) )
Polarium (DS) - $6.00/$9.00
Harvest Moon (DS) - $12/$18
Metroid Prime Hunters (DS) - $10.25/$15.38
Tony Hawk Project 8 (360) - $20/$30 (weird that the Wii game gives more)
Tony Hawk Downhill Jam (Wii) - $25.45/$38.18

My friend bought Tomb Raider 360 and a PS1 Japanese DDR copy and DC Bass Fishing for $35 total

Oh, and I was charged tax on the purchase today and my RE4 purchase last week. Maybe it charged tax because I got the remaining balance put on a Gift Card?

Got $92 more on the gift card = got a total of $165 :)

Thanks again Scorch for the deal and Io for keeping the wiki up to date.

[quote name='vgossain']
Nintendogs (DS) - $12.73/$19.10 (just cart, but still full credit :) )[/quote] lol I only trade in carts with DS games. I've kept all my DS cases when I trade-in because I use them for GBA games. I've also kept a few PS2/360 cases and all my PSP cases.

[quote name='vgossain']
Oh, and I was charged tax on the purchase today and my RE4 purchase last week. Maybe it charged tax because I got the remaining balance put on a Gift Card?[/quote] Yep. If you used store credit, you won't get charged tax (as long as you have enough credit to cover the cost of the game).

I've been doing the same thing with the CC games. It is a bit of a pain when they have a line but if it is like today I was in and out (twice) in a flash. I had to make sure the same guy was there who gave me the no strings attached credit yesterday and then check the value (of DOAX2) before I cracked it open. The prices could drop in the system or be lower at any particular store (because of inventory as Scorch has mentioned many times). So it's worth checking on ones that are otherwise returnable. I didn't bother checking on Bust-A-Move and of course it still came up $21 ;). I also asked him if the "50% promo was still running" just to be sure it wasn't canned at his store or something (you never know).

I have one more DOAX2 that I have to pair up with something and then figure out where to trade it. Unlike many of you guys I am very uncomfortable trading more than one copy of a game even within the same week. I really pushed it with the One Piece Pirate's Carnivals a few months back. Fortunately for me there are lots of GC's around here - problem is, the "no strings attached" ones are the furthest away .

[quote name='vgossain']Tony Hawk Project 8 (360) - $20/$30 (weird that the Wii game gives more)

If someone else can verify this price for THP8 for 360 I'll add it to the Wiki. Otherwise this may be an overstock issue at your store. The current wiki price is $28 (with MVP) from just 2 days ago, which is the same as the Wii version - so it should have been $38.18 just like the Wii version. But, of course, it *is* possible the base price just dropped as well.

[quote name='io']The prices could drop in the system or be lower at any particular store (because of inventory as Scorch has mentioned many times). So it's worth checking on ones that are otherwise returnable. [/quote] That's what happened to me with Lost Planet and a few other 360 games when I was trying to transfer GR credit to GC. The trade-in prices at my local GC were lower than the CAG wiki. So, I had to change tactics and go with other 360 games.

[quote name='io']
I didn't bother checking on Bust-A-Move and of course it still came up $21 ;).[/quote] lol I did the same with PSP Pac-Man. I needed to trade in another game with a $5 Harvest Moon and BB had one more copy of Pac-Man. I figured if Pac-Man would get at least $10 credit then that's fine as it only cost me $5. Ended up being $15.

[quote name='io']
I have one more DOAX2 that I have to pair up with something and then figure out where to trade it.[/quote] Since you can't find any Pac-Mans, how about Gunpey (PSP)? That got me $15 credit after promo.

I had traded a few Gunpey BEFORE the 50% promo went into effect ;). I could try to get another, but with the GamePro coupon expired and my Best Buy's being iffy about taking them in the first place, it isn't really worth the drive. I'll just have to throw one of my own games in there. I do have my replacement Arcade Unplugged (which I got for $15 from Best Buy). I could toss that in and get another later ;). Problem is, like I said before, I've traded both of those games a few times (all at different stores) and I'd like to get away from them.

[quote name='IndianFilmGuy']this has probably been asked before, but does it work with systems?[/quote] I'd read the first post of this thread carefully if I were you. ;)

I'm only sticking to 1 GC and I feel like I've overdone it with the 3 copies of Live Arcade. Now that I've finished transferring GR credit, I'm off the multiple trade-in kick with GC.

Gotta love GC.
Yesterday, I traded in some games and asked for the 50% bump. I referred to the signage, then the two guys there thought that I had to trade in 2 "old, boring games" ---which they thought should be anything else besides current gen games towards the purchase of a new game. They believe that trading in current gen games would give "too much credit."

Also, I have gone to two different GC and both times, there is always someone there on his day off --- just hanging out.

Back to the story...after some calling to his boss, he said the 50% bump was OK. He then proceeds to scan my MVP card and then the coupon...giving me 40% instead of 50%.

I asked him for the adjustment and the guy "just hanging out" says that whatever the computer tells you; it is final and they have no control over it. (I was thinking maybe the computer should tell you to jump off a bridge....) I am going to speak to the manager to get the $10.XX adjustment when he gets back.

Sorry for the rant.

All before bonus:
Ninety-Nine Nights (X360): $12
Enchanted Arms (X360): $14
Popolocrois (PSP): $10
Resistance: FoM (PS3): $30
Super Swing Golf (Wii): $20

iight so i got a situation i need some input on i want forza and dirt but i want to be able to return the im i don't like them so this what i was thinking

buy forza and dirt new, then trade them both in for strore credit( i don't know the trade in values) then used the buy 2 e rated games get 1 free and buy my traded copies back( they should count them as used) which will give me an extra game to keep or trade back in (virtua tennis, Mlb 2k7, rattaouile) which ever gets the most trade in value.

so do anybody think this will work

Well, the text in the flier says:
Clean out those old games. Kids, bring in 2 of your "boring" old games for a new game and receive an additional 50% credit towards your purchase.
(following by fine print with the 360/PS3/Wii/DS/PSP)

By the logic the guys at your GC used, not only should it be only for "old, boring" games, but the trade-in deal should only be for "kids".

Wiki updated...

Well, even though I can't seem to get the 50% extra because the only two Gamecrazy's here no longer will exist, and they're becoming "Hollywood Games" or something, I', still gonna trade my games.

Plus, I got quite a few bumped trade-in values from what other people have been saying, Scorch said Loco Roco would be 7 or 8, but I'm getting 16. Many people have said Bust A Move is $14, I'm getting $18. And Gunpey is $10, and I bought some copies for $5.

So, even though I don't get the extra 50% bump which would've given me more credit, I'll get an MVP card and trade in these games and I'll end up with $167 credit, when I spent $95. Not so bad, even better if it would've been with the bump. But I'm an optimistic person.

Just Called Local GC they are running the deal! and i got some qoutes so i know what i m getting:
Field Commander-$15
PoP Revalations-$15
Ridge Racer-$13
Lumines-$5
Final Fantasy III- $16
Mario Kart DS - $14

All before promo!

15+15+13+5+16+14=78, 78/2 = 39. 39+78= $117 for six random games i hate that i grabbed out of my closet.

Quick question:

How do you know the trade in values before and after the promo? My receipt just has the game, the quantity, and the amount in store credit listed afterwards. Underneath the games I traded, there's a line that reads "50% More Trade Credit - DM", with the quantity of two for the applicable games.

They told me that I only 50% more for only the highest priced game. And I didnt have to buy a new game.
so i got
30$ for marvel ultmate alliance/w the 50%
7.75$ for pursuit force
11$ for Nba2k7

[quote name='chaarlieee']Ok, I called the store and talked to the manager for 5-10 minutes. I got everyones names and I can identify all of them.

I told him it was illegal to sell items as free, he said he knows and that he told the employee who suckered my girl that he needs to stop telling people it's free. I ask him why he couldn't just say anything in the first place, he said he was busy (what a fucking idiot).

He says he will take off the membership when we come back in and give her the original $75 in store credit that she should have received. We will then do the ORIGINAL promo and buy a new game because we traded in 2 games. I asked him if there's anything we could get for all the trouble and he said he'll give us 12 free rentals.

The GC next to my house has always been run by fucking idiots. Actually, nearly every GC I've been to is run by fucking idiots.

Now slidecage, you're telling me that she'll be stuck with the membership? Are you sure? Because the manager said he could just take her membership off and give her the credit back. If I go back tomorrow and there's any more bullshit, I better get 50% off something and not just 12 free rentals.

If they can't take off the membership tomorrow, I'll just make my case and just keep the mvp membership and get the store credit back like rufio2004nfg said, and get the 12 free rentals.[/quote]

this seems like something an employee should be fired over.
