I decided to make one thread and every time I receive a list of price drops, or someone PM's me a list or whatever, I will update the OP. This list has a new format as of 6/30/07. These are the prices that they will ring up at the register, despite what the sticker price says. I hope this new format is easier to read for you.

The price format is as follows: new/used. Example: 19.99/14.99.. 20 new, 15 used. If the price has --, it means the price was not changed. Example: Madden 07 --/14.99 means that the new price was not changed.

MVP Pricing Guide! If the used price is the price on the left, the price on the right is what the price would be with MVP!

somewhat related, but does anyone know why the PS2 version of lego star wars 2 is $39.99 (or so the sticker says) but the 360 version is $19.99?

damnit, i'm going to have to go to GC for the 3rd day in a row now to pick up a copy of TMNT. i need a mindless button mashing game to play in between games with substance.

Every version of Lego Star Wars 2 on every system is 19.99 new, 14.99 used regardless of what the sticker says.. it's been 20/15 for about a month and a half now.

I just wanted to say thanks again to Scorch for the TMNT pricing. I was able to snag that with my last 50% trade promo (since I had to buy 1 new game). Both of my boys played it for 2 hours each yesterday so it has already been worth it.

It is helpful to get these price drops in advance (well, I mean in advance of the guys in my local GC ;)). They don't often have too many copies of things like this and it is nice to know about the drop before it is posted on the game rack - I can get first dibs on anything I might want this way!
 
Yea scorch excellent work. Because of you, I end up walking in my GC knowing more than the employees every time. I am starting to get sick of their rudeness though...I guess its like a jealously thing. Anyway, why is that so many employees are clueless and you are like...GC god?

Because most employees are register monkeys and don't care/don't make any effort whatsoever to do anything worthwhile.
 
Sounds like a GC in my area I used to go to. Thanks to recent events I had to cut it out of rotation. I only have 2 to go to now.

I picked up two copies of TMNT today, luckily I still had the receipt for the copy I bought at Gamestop last month. I also got one for the GS Wii deal. Thanks Scorch.

I was at GC today and completely forgot to check for a used Wii TMNT. That was part of my reason for going there too!

Just like above, those drops happened weeks ago. They're 34.99/31.49 with MVP used. I only list newer drops.

Seeing that COD 3 :ps2: and Marvel Alliance :ps2: drop to $19.99 each, have they just gone Greatest Hits?

Doubt it, it seems like a temp. drop as the used prices are still 24.99.

It is actually pretty fun - I played it a bit and my boys have played it a lot. I'm going to save the rest for quick points for the next challenge, but it isn't like that will be painful. It will be a quick, fun, burst of points ;). Part of the reason I like it is that my boys can play it without needing tons of help from me. So some of you may find it way too easy - but there's still some challenge in getting 'A' rankings on all the missions. The only major problem with it is that due to the fixed camera it can sometimes be a pain to figure out where to go next (this is the major thing I need to keep helping them with and it is a bit of a pain when I haven't been playing to just jump in and figure out where they are).

Disgaea 2 IS an old drop at GC, and he made this thread with the intent of informing people of new drops in the system, not just a list of current prices.
Scorch helps out 1000x more people than he pisses off, I would hesitate to call him a "douche" even if you don't like what he has to say, and I dont think he was trying to be a dick either.

Neither are drops for the other 10,000 games that GC carries. I'm just trying to inform people of very recent drops, not drops that have occured a while ago. The Disgaea 2 drop is worth mentioning, but I believe it was already covered in another thread. I wasn't trying to start anything.

Thanks Scorch, though curious if you know there will be one giant bundle set for Rock Band like on the Gamestop website or anything close to that (though I know game is far ass off, but damn im excited for it and i got $60 trade in credit i want to use).

If they do, it won't be 59.99, that's for sure.

Oh, and Fable 2 is now in the system at GameCrazy (fucking finally. They tell us to display the lithos, 8 months later they decide to make it preorderable..)
 
It really pisses me off that Enchanted Arms only dropped on the PS3. Seriously, what the hell? The 360 version's been out way longer and I kinda doubt it's sold/is selling a whole lot better. Damn you, Game Crazy.

Everyone's like that, no one's dropped it on the 360. And yeah, it pisses me off too. I'm sure it'll drop down soon.
 
Before you all run out and blow your credit from the 50% more deal on a PS3, the PS3 did not drop at GameCrazy stores today. The drop went into effect after the latest update downloaded into the stores. It will probably drop in price at GC stores tomorrow.

Hey Scorch awesome job on the thread so far.
Maybe it's me, but I don't see the systems that each price drop is for, how do you guys know which is which. For example the 7/5 price drop on CoD 3, and TH:p8 were very exciting until I realized that they were for the PS2.

Is there anyway that you could edit them, or anyway that you can help us figure out which drops are for which systems?

Couple of quick questions, could you let us know if the used version of the 20gig drops and to what? Also, do boxes usually come with systems at Game Crazy? I'm hoping to have the UPC so I can send it in for the 5 free blu rays. And by the way, thanks for the help a couple weeks ago. I tried to PM you the thanks, but your PM box was full.

there's a system logo above the drops. that's what system it's for. if there's no listing for that system/game, it didn't drop.

You are right. It's not that bad of a game. Cameras is still a issue but that happens alot of the times when they are fixed cameras. I don't think it's all that bad here.

Hmm, you're right. Went back today and it's sticker $7.99 now. Must've been on sale during the B2G1 Xbox deal they had. Red Dead Revolver still had the $4.99 sticker though.

I also managed to find on GC store that still had a Tekken 5 bundle. It was dusty as hell when they went to get it down, but I love that arcade stick.
 
Just curious, how much does MVP cost and do you get anything else with it? I stopped by one today to look for Enchanted Arms....no luck. They did have a nice stock of other stuff, I was impressed....first time I've been to a GC.

You probably found out, but MVP is $20 with a magazine subscription included - then $15 to renew. It is equivalent to EB/GS but you get to pick from several magazines (I picked Nintendo Power and it stacked nicely with my existing sub).

I can't think of anything in particular that is great for credit building at the moment, but the wiki has been updated quite a bit recently because of the extra 50% trade-in deal (too bad you missed out on that ;)). With the Blockbuster B1G1 free on $14.99 or under games there might be a few games worth using to transfer credit to GC - like Hulk Ultimate Destruction, for example. GC was giving a ton of credit for Arcade Unplugged, too, but you might want to get an update on that before trading as it may have dropped (though Scorch has not indicated so yet). Seems like just a matter of time though - but who knows, they still sell Castlevania DoS for $34.99, right?
 
Thanks IO, I know you are GR savvy also. I was amazed that GC was like a small EB....pretty nice indeed compared to GR.

Does anyone know what Tenchu Z & Tony Hawk P8 trade for there? Both 360.
