I've been selling video games online for about 4 years now and recently opened up my own website, gamedealdaily.com

A new deal will be posted every day, seven days a week, at noon ET.

The site also features a store area that will expand over time.

I've been a member of CAG for about 5 years, so its exciting to be able to offer some good deals of my own. I PM'd CheapyD and he approved my posting of the deals on this board. Following his advice, I will update this thread daily with the new deal for the day.

Today's Deal: Halo 3 Limited Edition (XBox 360) - $29.95

Today's deal is for Halo 3 Limited Edition for the Microsoft XBox 360. These games are in like-new condition and come complete with the original tin case, game case, artwork, manual, and game disc. Each game is guaranteed to work perfectly.

If you're looking for a cheap XBox 360 system, check this one out for $79.95 + shipping:

http://www.gamedealdaily.com/store/product.php?product=1026

THIS XBOX 360 CONSOLE DOES NOT FUNCTION PERFECTLY. PLEASE READ: The first problem occurs when you enter a disc into the system. When you close the door to the system it re-opens. You have to play this game for 3 or 4 tries, and then the disc will stay inside the system. It has never completely refused to accept a disc. The second problem is that the system will not play a few certain games. By not play, I mean that the games will freeze shortly after gameplay begins. I've played about 60 total XBox 360 games on this system and the only ones I've found this problem with are Madden NFL 09, Assassin's Creed, and Perfect Dark Zero. 95% of games work with no problems.

Here is what is included with the system: XBox 360 Core Console (no hard drive), Component HD AV Cable, power cable, ethernet cable, and manuals. Nothing else is included, no power brick, no controller, no headset.

NEW: SELL US YOUR GAMES!

Please visit our buy-back page at:

I've added nearly 600 titles to our database, so be sure to check it out. You may email us for trade-in quotes for items that you do not find on the list. Directions can be found at the top of the page in case you have any questions about the process. Well over half of the titles on the list trade in for more than $10!Thank you for checking out the site.
Again, just giving my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt.

These things come up every 3 pages... Possibly for a reason? I'm guessing us CaGer's are a pretty big chunk of your business. Listening to our input and changing store policies might actually increase profits, not decrease. I know that I (again) would have made a few purchases were it not for the whole cheap prices high shipping stuff. Saying you are selling a game for .95 cents in the title is misleading when you mark up shipping based on the discounted price of the product, not the method/size/cost of shipping. It's a hidden fee, something that makes many (including myself) feel cheated.

Jacking shipping up later to make your prices seem lower is quite dishonest, imo. I don't know of any other places I shop at that do something similar, it's always based on the size and quantities of the items.
I fully agree, it's some shady ebay style ways of running business if you ask me. While many may say that 6.00 is indeed a deal for these, but not by much, and if someone advertises that they will sell me 2 small cards for .95 then I expect shipping to be reasonably...especially since they can be shipped in an envelope with a stamp, or hell, you could even e-mail the codes to people.

A deal is a deal, but shipping is something else, and should NOT be used to make yourself break even and screw us.

I've never shopped at your site before, and because of this instance, I never will...your "I don't really care about my customers opinions" attitude just drives my point across even further.

I also agree with this. I have on numerous occasions had my cart filled with an item or a couple items, only to close out the window because of the high shipping costs. This lead me to actually second guess whether or not some of these are actually "deals".

(Most) of the people posting here are trying to give you (drfrielgood) constructive criticism based on our own experiences with your site. I hope you (drfrielgood) and all those defending you understand this and don't resort to the "Don't like it? Don't buy it" defense (JJRP already has said it) because you'll just lose more potential customers :/ I think you have a great thing going on here and I've almost bit on numerous occasions. The only thing that has stopped me was the shipping costs!

Agreed. I've complained a bit about this site in the past, but I freely admit that you do have some good deals, even if they're not quite as low as I would like. The problem for most of us comes down to shipping. As someone else mentioned, adding a second item for many things seems to add a minimum of $2.99 to the shipping, no matter what that item may be. This is what prevents you from getting a number of potential sales.

Now, I don't know if you care or not, but it seems to me you could do a number of things to increase potential sales. There have been a lot of examples given here, and I hope you at least take the time to consider them. One thing that I would really recommend is refining your shipping system. For example, maybe change it so things that are only single cards, or very light, have a smaller shipping increase, or none at all. Or, perhaps, add another shipping option of a plain white envelope. Or even try and work out of system to email codes to people, in the case of games and the like. There are a number of things that you could probably do that would help you get more sales, instead of turning away more customers like you currently seem to be doing.

yea why not just e-mail the code?

I know I would jump on this in a second even at like 4 or 5 bucks, if I just received the code via e-mail.

over 5 times the amount of the product itself for shipping? When you could use e-mail or literally use a regular envelop a piece of construction paper and stamp.

My guess would be that it would be hard to keep track of things that way, and also fairly time-consuming for him. The only solution I could come up with would be to add ALL the codes into a central database, and do things that way, but that would take a decent amount of time to set up.

However, I think it would be profitable for him to do this, and would encourage more purchases. Hopefully, he'll read some of these suggestions and take things into consideration.

Yea but it would definitely be worth setting that up. My debit/credit card a lot of the time doesn't work when I try and buy points through Live and I would love to have an online service for points and game codes via email.

Putting all the codes in the database is very time intensive and not worth the hassle. It's much easier to charge shipping and send it out. That way you know that you're not sending out codes twice. That being said, the shipping charges for cards are on the high side.

I have to somewhat agree with others on this thread. The title is a little mis-leading. At least add the shipping cost (or plus shipping) to the title. I have seen other posters get slammed for not including shipping cost on their posted deals so why not this thread? Just curious.

my 2 cents.

Btw, i have bought and will continue to buy from Gamedealdaily. Keep up the good deals!
My last post kind of got lost, any chance on a deal on an Arcade Stick?
I haven't come across any good deals on arcade sticks recently, but I'll keep my eye out. Are you looking for a stick for any particular console?

Not really. 360 would be nice, but I wouldn't mind PS2 or PS3.

Seconded. A 360 arcade stick would be nice.

Emailing codes wouldn't work because (I'm assuming) he's got a relatively small staff, and they'd be tied up scratching codes and emailing them - meaning he'd be paying them to do extra work, and the cost would go to the consumer. Since he takes PayPal, it'd also be incredibly easy to scam him by saying that you never got the code, and then he's screwed. It's just a lot more secure and cost-effective to ship codes.
Updated with today's deal for the PSN $20 Prepaid card and a Sixaxis Wireless Controller.
jumped on this deal seeing as how I just got a Ps3. What's your shipping method for this item? Thanks again for the great deal

The controller and card bundle will be shipped USPS First Class. Thanks for your purchase!

Jumped on the PSP Component cables, thats one hell of a deal.

Thanks Dr.

Edit - Picked up the composite cable as well, seeing as it was only $7 shipped.

I'm not seeing the component cables on the site? Did they sell out? Please PM me and let me know if I can still get a set at that price. Would be ordering now, but I only see the composite. I'm probably just retarded and missing something... :(

Just so you guys know, you can't play games with the composite cable. You can only output images and video (like UMDS), if I recall correctly. You need the component to play games.

How long are the component cables, offhand? The third-party ones I have are way too short to actually use comfortably, considering I'm sitting with my face 12 inches from my 40" LCD!

I think the official ones are 6 feet.

Wow, wish I would've seen the component, but I think I'll have to jump on the composite... I don't have a progressive scan TV anyway so it's not a huge deal in the short term, but wish I could've gotten both!
I found this out the hard way -- AFTER I ordered a set of composites to play games :( (Not from this site, but a few months ago)

Sony wasn't very good about making that blatantly clear.

According to GS's website, your TV must also be capable of progressive scan to play games, is this correct?

I guess this has to be for technical reasons, otherwise... what the hell was sony doing? I guess that is their style though, like discontinuing BC :bomb:

Yep. I still don't get "why" since the resolution is 480x272 (don't quote me)-- it's a tiny bit above interlaced's effective vertical resolution (240ish, since it's interlaced) but I can't believe the PSP couldn't scale it slightly without taking a performance hit.

You need a TV that can accept 480p to play games.

Why do 360 wireless controllers seem to be going on clearance in so many places? (Target, Radio Shack, now here.) Retailers know something we don't?

I'm in for one of the Quick Charge Kits. It's my first time ordering from GDD, if all goes well I'll definitely be back for more.
Sweet, I always wanted a Quick Charge Kit but I already have 3 rechargeable batteries and don't want anymore. Ordered one.
It's always nice to have a couple batteries sitting in reserve on the Quick Charge Kit! Thanks for the orders guys.

Updated with the weekend deal for the XBox 360 Elite, minus the 120GB Hard Drive. I'm going to be out of town for the weekend, so the deal is going to run until Monday afternoon. The deal won't show up on the front page until noon Eastern tomorrow, but you can find the item in the XBox 360 section of the store if you'd like a head-start on the rest of the shoppers!

The Elite (without HDD) has been $199 for months, I know because I keep looking at it, but can't get myself to buy it because of RROD. How is this any different?

Even if the warranty doesn't cover it you can send it in to MSFT for any repair for $95 (if you pay online) . So if you order and it dies in a couple of months and the warranty doesn't apply you won't have to eat the whole cost. FYI total cost on this deal is $231.85 shipped.
Does the RROD warranty apply here? I'm guessing no, but just making sure.
They have a 3-year warranty on RROD and the Elite's just came out last year (or was it the year before?) so all of them should still be under warranty, unless they've been opened up or something.

I figured that 3 year warranty applied to all 360's depending on the manufacture date, but apparently it doesn't apply for some reason to refurbed/used stuff. Edit; oh what am I thinking, it should apply fine.
