gamefly small sale -- Twisted Metal $20, Syndicate $10, maybe more
i have a question, gamefly disc are always chipped? but is it 100% workable?
1 out of 20 games I got from gamefly was chipped but it beat it with zero problems.
Doesn't Twisted Metal require an online pass?
Gamefly only sends out disks. The case, manual, and inserts are only sent out if someone pays to keep a game. Otherwise they are included with used copies, so any DLC/online pass codes will be unused.

actually, I got a game which infamous 2 but it is chipped..I cant install the game data. and waste $15 .....now I am tempted from gamefly again....do I buy twiseted metal or not? I am afraid I gain the past experience again..
Thanks OP, picked up Syndicate for PS3. On the fence for Twisted Metal. Might wait for that one to go sub $20.
I'll tell you right now, that the online portion still pretty bad. I dare say almost as much as it was on release date. No idea what sort of update they pulled out that supposedly fixed this. Every now and then I'll get connection errors before joining a match, or other times it just takes forever trying to join a host's server.

Once I'm in game though, it's usually pretty good.
Gamefly PS3 used was $17.99, shipping was free but they charged tax. It cost me $19.07 total. So $20 for a digital copy isn't a bad deal.
i live in a tax free state, and i'm pretty sure it's been 14.99 in the past, hasn't it? besides, i don't want to pay more for a digital copy than i would for a physical.

i've probably bought 25 ps3 games from Gamefly, and all have been like new. Obviously there will be the random problem here and there when you talk their fulfillment in total, but i'd certainly give them another chance.

looked at title while scrolling and saw $10 syndicate and then noticed gamefly. would have been all over this if it was new copies.

SSX online is the meat of the game. Competing in global events, and constantly chasing your friends high scores kept me playing for ages. You can also drop those Geoglobe things and they 'cash out' after a few days, so every time I logged on I would receive a huge payday from whatever cashed out. I bought it at launch and have never regretted it.

I don't know if you fear scratch discs but the worst condition I ever got a PS3 game was one or two that had some very light/minimal scuffs. Have bought at least 10 games from them so I can believe I'll get a acceptable used copy + they always include any game codes. Someone at the post office stepped and cracked my game case but I can't blame gamefly for that.

Good to know, thanks.

Grabbed Darkness 2. For $10, why not?

Syndicate is totally worth ten bucks; if I didn't snag it from the MS sale, I'd grab it here.
Contemplating SSX. Redboxed it when it came out. Didn't get to play any of the multiplayer. Is the online worth a buy?
Played SSX offline went it came out and thought it was ok......bought it a couple of weeks ago when Gamefly put it at $15 and finally played online and it is very fun. Constant challenges daily to play (you can also make your own for others to compete in). The geoglobe part is fun in trying to find places for yours and places where others have placed them. I feel more compelled to check online daily for what is happening that day if that says anything about it being addictive! Lots of replay value.
What are the chances my Twisted Metal game will be the limited edition?
I'm willing to bet pretty high, this is GF's first sale for Twisted Metal, and they definitely bought the first edition of the game when it came out to rent it out.
May bite on SSX for 360. Why did I pick Soul Calibur from Best Buy when both were 10 bucks....
I'm asking myself that question, haven't even unsealed it yet.. Same for SSX lol, they look good on the shelf though?

I also regret Soul Calaber. I think my kid beat the single player in about 3 hours.pretty sure I brole even on a trade or I would be really upset.

That's good enough for me!

I have too many PS3 games -_-

Ha same. I played the first two missions and I was like fuck this. THe graphics and music were A+++++ material though. Still get $17 for a game you paid $10 for is sweet.

Drat, soon as I got home from work and see this deal Syndicate is sold out already. Keeping my fingers crossed for a restock or someone else doing a similar deal
How's Twisted Metal? I just bought some games last week so I don't really know if I should jump on these 2
Good game, decent. But if you aren't a fan of the series you might want to wait until a little more unless you are wanting to get the Limited Edition (no guarantee you will get it, but pretty high chance that you will if you buy it right now) and play TM Black which IMO was the best TM out of the whole series (including TM2).

The problem with this TM, at least in my eyes was the radical shift they took with the story mode. You only have 4 character story arcs, Sweet Tooth, Dollface, Grimm, and Preacher. That's it, and no more unique vehicle per character. Replayability in SP is incredibly low, after you beat the game once all you have left is to beat it on Twisted difficulty to unlock Warthog, no longer are there secret hidden easter eggs and goodies that you can find to unlock new vehicles. But the biggest gripe is online, the game plays fine but every now and then you'll get random lag spikes, or have moments where it looks like you are about to join a server and then it hangs on the "Joining.." screen for what seems an eternity.
chipped discs FTL
Lol I was wondering when you were going to post that. Are you like the oldest troll in CAG or something? :-({|=

No gamefly sale thread is complete without this comment.

I was about to buy Syndicate PS3 and it vanished before I could complete checkout. Hopefully it will be in stock later...
Is the single player campaign for syndicate fun enough for $10?
Yes , very good, just finished it and traded in on the 50% deal.

decided to grab TM hope it has black and online code

Went with Syndicate and SSX. Love how I have to dick around with a proxy every time I want to buy something since I'm in Korea.

Would love to see Driver back for $7.50. Others I'm hoping to see soon are Mortal Kombat and Asura's Wrath.

fair warning about Syndicate. if you are playing online coop and notice short 5-15 second freezes during gameplay its because you have a bug with autosave. it was never patched nor will it ever be.

if you want to fix this the easiest way is to leave your syndicate, which is their type of clan/guild thingy. that seems to fix it. it can get you killed otherwise and will prevent you from getting trophies. being in a syndicate was the best part of it all too. oh well. for $10 you cant go wrong, i still had fun.

Ok. I think so. I decided to buy it now. Maybe I live in Los angles. Gamefly stock is always chipped...Just see I am luck or not

I'm really hoping for Binary Domain [I really want to shoot robots!] to be one of the sales games going on sale. I bought Twisted Metal.... I hope the MP is good.

To me, even the easiest setting (Normal) was really tough. The AI are very aggressive and would often times pin me against a wall to where I couldn't back up or move, my health slowly depleting as their ramming/shooting me.

Also, I only got to the third level but Sweet Tooth's campaign is pretty bleak. It's like American Psycho but without the black humor. Definitely not for kids, but if you enjoy torture porn type films then this may be right up your alley.

Do the tutorial first. There are three different types of control setups and you'll need to find one that's suitable as the AI doesn't ease you into the game.

Picked up Darkness II for $10. I know it's been a similar price on PC but I can eBay the 360 version when I'm done with it

Felt the same about Sweet Tooth, knew he was always a crazy clown but this forever changed his perception as a silly playstation character or someone you use in battle royale or star hawk to something way too dark.

Don't forget about Twisted Metal Black!

Sweet Tooth's backstory feels slightly toned down compared to Black IMO, infact I think the re-imagining of Sweet Tooth in this game is somewhat ridiculous, now he has his whole crowd of fanatics, and his head was set ablaze by simply donning the clown mask. So I guess he became a little more social? I felt they tried to merge his Black story into this with the maniacal sense of slaughter but came up short. He just seemed more tame overall, although I think that's kinda hard to argue from all the murders he commits in the cutscenes.

But what I mean is that in Black he killed for the simple sense of enjoyment and thrill (same with TM2012) but in this new one he was practically obsessed with finding Sophie because she got away, so he was murdering anyone that got in his path to Sophie. In Black he did it so that people talked about his murders and how many new victims he had killed, and fear him. Then when he got caught all he could think about was "What a waste. All those people I hadn't killed yet." I think that sentence alone is darker than anything he said in TM 2012, and of course he gets cursed by the Preacher, to feel the pain his victims felt by setting his head ablaze. :hot:
Wait, are you people still buying Syndicate right now?
Looks like it's sold out, since it's only listed as keep on the page. Can't just outright buy it. :(
