Reported Trade-In Prices

Trade-In Price Wiki

Yea I know but low and behold there it was marked 49.99 while I was just looking around I already bought it so I didnt need it. But a Nippon Ichi game was in a blockbuster and wasnt used

I think I may just pick up a 360 with my credit...because with the way things are going, I HIGHLY doubt i'll be able to get a PS3 from GR.

Is Halo 2 still $10 sealed at Gamerush/Blockbuster or did the price go back up? My local store still had a huge stack of them last time I checked. With the $20 trade-in price at EB/GS right now (weird) plus the $3 bonus, seems like a no-brainer to go pick up a few copies of this if it's still $10. I know it's $20 used, but GR is known for selling their new games cheaper than their used games.

Well for people wanting to get a PS3 at launch...I think the latest news means that GR will probably not be getting any at launch. Well if they get the Wii, I can just grab all the extras I need for that. Hopefully you will be able to buy cards with credit to get the VC games.

I was thinking the same thing... I was able to get a 360 with the limited quantities that they recieved, but we're talking about SONY hear....sigh.
Most GRs don't get any Atlus games, so that is really strange.
That's awesome.

Disgaea 2 is not an Atlus game.
Anybody put together a good GR---->EB credit transfer list yet?
The clearance list is probably the same or slightly less profitable than it was before, if there's anything left. Their normal priced games aren't going to net you anything.
The clearance list is probably the same or slightly less profitable than it was before, if there's anything left. Their normal priced games aren't going to net you anything.
I think he meant used games like I was talking about a few days ago. I might go there this evening and look more thoroughly. The real value in having a list here is that so many of the used games have higher price stickers than they should so it is useful to have a list compiled here so we know what the *real* prices of these games are at GR.

Of course the flip side of using used games is the condition is often crappy - so far I haven't found a good enough one (don't want the hassle of refurb fees from EB).

So far I have these:

PS2 Fantavision: $2.99 -> should get $4.76 with bonus + Edge
PS2 Future Tactics: $2.99 -> $4.76
Xbox Halo 2: $19.99 -> $25.65 if the $20 temporary trade-in value holds (EDIT - may have dropped to $12 now at EB)

Again, these are USED prices.

WARNING on Halo 2 - even though the EB web site still says it gets $20, it looks like it might have dropped to $12 according to people in the EB/GS thread. So I would stay away from that one. You could print out the web site and try it with that but that's the kind of hassle I don't want to deal with. It is too bad, as that could have been used to transfer credit in bulk (vs all those piddly $2.99 games).

Yeah, all I'm really looking for right now are break-even credit transfers because I'm looking to buy a pink DS lite for my girlfriend's birthday from EB. GR probably won't get them in a timely manner as we all know.;) Thanks for those 2, io.
Gamerush has Enchanted Arms in. You also get a comic book with purchase.
Yeah, yeah, old news :D

But did they get Loco Roco in today?

Picked up Disgaea 2 tonight at 49.99 (54.09 w tax paid with credit). Noticed that they had Guitar Hero for sale, but wasnt given a firm price. Do these retail at 59.99 or 69.99 and are they worth picking up? Thanks for the advice.

Went through the whole disappearing preorder thing with the manager today. He was convinced that I must have switched it or was thinking of a different game or something . I didn't have my receipts today to show him. Anyway, I kept trying to get him to cancel my Zelda (which IS still there for some reason) and reorder something else but he kept ignoring me - very strange. Finally, he called someone at BB corporate about my FF XII preorder - the guy went through my account on the phone and FOUND my original preorder, which was a good first step. He was going to go through my entire account history from there to see if it was ever cancelled. Once the manager finds out about that he said he'd call (but no message when I got home a few hours later, so we'll see about all that).

Anyway, the point of all this is that, apparently, they can make a quick phone call and have the particular item researched same day. So you might want to try that approach. He asked the guy if preorders disappear after a year and didn't get an immediate "yes" out of it, so it seems word HAS NOT gotten around about this particular problem. (I could only hear one side of the conversation but they went round and round about when the game was preordered and why it was so long ago, etc ).

I really want to cancel both my Zelda GC preorders and my FF XII preorder (since I'm getting the LE at EB). But first I better let them sort them all out first. I just wish he would have done as I asked and cancelled both my Zelda orders while I was there asking to do so... :bomb:.

While I was waiting for all of this I looked through the used games and found nothing more than the 2 I found the other day, both interestingly right next to each other  - Fantavision and Future Tactics (both $2.99). There were several $4.99 games that might be worth an even transfer.

I turned those 2 games + a free Duel Masters from Best Buy (back when the coupon was still good :D) into $15.23 in EB credit. There is one more of each of those games (strangely enough both of the ones I got today seemed brand new) but unless some of the $4.99 games end up getting $2+ at EB I probably won't bother beyond that.

Stil waiting to hear back on Zelda and FFXII preorders. Unfortunately I ordered them at two different stores. The first store was convinced I changed my Zelda preorder to something else and I'm not confident in their ability to get the matter straightened out.

At the second store, the store manager was present and was aware of the disappearing preorder phenomena. It was labor day so he said he was going to call corporate on Tuesday and have them search my history for preorders. He indicated that corporate usually responds quickly to those requests.

For what it's worth, I just called GR and they said Loco Roco was in. No Disgaea 2 yet at my store. That's bad news as usually once other GR's get a game in and mine hasn't yet, that means they never get it. They still haven't gotten the Tales of Legendia they had on order . It is pretty bad of corporate to leave certain stores out of deliveries when people have games preordered.

Anyway, the manager (who said he'd call me back a few days ago with the results of my preorder history research) wasn't there and there was no indication on my account of anything being fixed (no credit, no FF XII preorder back). Wonderful - I am SO looking forward to what he has to say to me :bomb:. Guess I'll be heading in there a bit later.

They had Guitar Hero at my store tonight - I was very surprised. They said it was $70. I'm very tempted since I don't think I'll ever find one at regular retail for less than $50.

h2dk - You know, I was just there an hour ago and I think the signs are still up, though I didn't specifically check for that. I'd give 'em a call to be 100% sure though if you plan on heading in this weekend. I just don't have anything to trade to GR - haven't for weeks now. It seems a complete shame since they have been running the bonus deal all this time.

I picked up one copy of Fantavision - someone (any lurkers out there??) picked up the other Future Tactics that was there just a few days ago. Like the first Fantavision, this one was mint as well - very strange. I wonder if they were some other person's clearance game $5 bonus trade-in (though I figured it wouldn't qualify). If so, that's great, because now I get to use it for EB credit.

I have some interesting things to say about my 'lost' preorders and Wii/PS3 preorder stuff (nothing earth-shattering, so chill) but that will have to wait until after I help get the kids to bed.

OK, so while they never called me back about the preorder deal I was able to find out the following in the store tonight:

Hey, turns out CAG was right, the preorders DO expire after 365 days - I guess he finally found someone at corporate who knows about that. They are going to give me a credit for the amount once the manager clears it with his District Manager (next week hopefully). At first he wanted to wait until the games came in and then credit me and let me purchase them. I'd rather take care of it before then in case employees move on, etc... So we'll see how that goes. He doesn't want to just give me the credit now because he might get in trouble with the DM if the DM doesn't know about the 365 day expiration thing. My Zelda preorder WAS, in fact, gone, even though it shows up in my account history (on the register computers). It is almost like someone put in a note that I had it preordered but the actual order itself was gone. Very strange.

OK, on to Wii/PS3 info. Metroid Prime 3 is now in the system, so I sort of switched one of the dead preorders to that - that is, I put $5 down now and when they refund me the $49.99 for Zelda I'll put the rest on it then.
I didn't have time to check on other Wii titles, but it would be interesting to see if they have Smash Bros and Mario in there. They still have them all listed at $59.99, so I'm only putting $5 on things now just to show GR corporate there is interest in the Wii. (I had thought EB dropped them all to $49.99, but it appears only Elebits is that way - the rest seem to be at $59.99. I'm really hoping Nintendo sticks to the $49.99 price point - and things like Elebits should be $39.99 at the most!).

Of course, they have no info on preorders. In fact, they asked me if I knew when the Wii was going to launch . HOWEVER, the good news is that they were told (not sure by who, either corporate or the DM), to be ready to take preorders soon. While by itself that isn't amazing news (as the systems come out pretty soon after all) it is a good sign at GR as we have heard a rumor here that GR wouldn't be carrying the new systems at all. They certainly seem ready for them at my store anyway. Also, when I told them about Son'y announcement of 500,000 PS3's at launch (and how that was a reduction from original plans) they were excited because the Xbox 360 launch was similar and they got 10 systems out of that. I don't know the details of the 360 launch, but was it really 500,000 also?

Anyway, we will see - but it certainly isn't making the rounds among DM's and store managers (in all areas, anyway) that GR is getting out of the hardware sales business.
Fixed ;)
Actually, in my first draft I said "Turns out I was right". That is what the GR dudes told me after all (after I told them I 'heard about the 1 year expiration from a friend' line and they went and researched it). But I reconsidered and I figured I would give CAG, collectively, the credit .

Of course you were the main source of that - but we also collectively figured it out before that with the types of preorders that were being lost (all older, mostly delayed, games).

Though, Gizmo, I have to take issue with you a bit - it seems you knew this little tidbit all along but you never warned us when we were talking about having preorders open for several months (or in some cases over a year - after all, mine probably got flushed several months ago - I just decided to check recently). I'm just glad that by pure coincidence I switched out 3 or 4 other games that were getting very close to 1 year (I think Okami was within weeks of expiring when I switched it due to GR charging $49.99 for it).

Today I took care to cancel my still valid Zelda preorder and just reorder it to "refresh it" (they finally understood what I was talking about since I asked to do that a few days ago too). It would have expired within days of release. Of course, I had to make sure they understood I had TWO on order and one was missing - otherwise they'd come back to me and say I just cancelled the allegedly missing one.

Anyway, if/when I get my missing credit this will finally be over with. And from now on (if GR lasts that long) I will always be careful to cancel things that are pushing 10-11 months .

Changing subjects completely - If anyone goes in there can they check if GR has Guitar Hero 2 available for preorder? I'd rather get the new one if I have to pay the full $69.99 anyway. There's always the slight chance I might find the original on clearance somewhere I suppose - and the new one won't be that way for a while. Of course, if it takes them as long to get the second as it did to get the first (what, a year?) then maybe that's not a good idea :D.

The fact is I never truley knew 100% for sure. If I even mentioned that I'm sure I would have everyone bitching at me like they always do when I tell them I have some GR 'insider' info. I just knew atleast from the DVD aspects of it (when we were just becoming GR) that pre-orders got 'deleted' after a year. Who pre-orders DVDs from Blockbuster? I beleive when I was hired we had a total of 3 pre-orders that were set to 'delete' and that was out of a combined total of 8 taken for the whole year. I would have figured with GR coming around that would have obviously been fixed (considering you can pre-order games over a year away).

Now I havn't worked at GR for close to two years now...has this issue not come up before? I seem to recall a similar deal when I was working there...maybe no one pre-ordered anything that old?

Anyway, we will see - but it certainly isn't making the rounds among DM's and store managers (in all areas, anyway) that GR is getting out of the hardware sales business.
According to NPD sales data, the 360 sold 326,000 units in North America in the month of November. Why people are going crazy over the fact that the Sony will ship 400,000 units on launch day is beyond me.

Lets see....
How many Xboxs were sold compared to the amount of PS2s? I would say PS2 has sold ATLEAST 7x more in America. PS3 will be HOT. HOTTER then 360.

Now I havn't worked at GR for close to two years now...has this issue not come up before? I seem to recall a similar deal when I was working there...maybe no one pre-ordered anything that old?
Fair enough (as to why you didn't mention it)... Though I don't think we'd get on your case for that kind of "operational" type info :D. It sure does seem like something they would have fixed prior to GR! But that's BB for you .

It does seem strange that we haven't seen this before. But I think the main reason is that Okami, FF XII, and Zelda are the only major games that GR has had in the system more than a year before release - mostly because each one got delayed considerably. Plus none of these games have been released yet - just wait till Okami drops in 2 weeks and all the people who aren't aware of CAG try to pick up their lost preorders - then quadruple that for FF XII and Zelda! Hopefully by late Fall ALL GR stores will be well aware of the 365 day limit on preorders. And let's not forget that this problem HAS been going on for a while - we've had a few scattered reports on things like Okami before. I could have gone through all this in April as mine expired then! I'm just dealing with it now because of the other reports. And then it kind of hit critical mass on CAG since everyone decided to check at the same time . Hopefully we're clearing the way (by educating GR people about this problem) for the non-CAG's who will be screwed by this on the various release days.

There are a few other games that might cause problems - like Gran Turismo 4 mobile, which I preordered back when the deal was running last summer and couldn't think of anything else. I decided that I probably wouldn't like it anyway (plus it still doesn't have a release date) so I switched that to something else a few months back.

My longest, still active, preorder was my second copy of Zelda which I "refreshed" today. After that, my next one is Phantasy Star Universe, which I preordered last Dec. I was thinking of switching that anyway (damn monthly fees) but I'd probably be OK anyway (from 'loss') as it releases in late Oct. After that I have things in March of this year and beyond.

Probably more prevalent though are the preorders that people didn't pick up (because the game never came in or they simply forgot) that have since run over a year (Botticus - you may want to do something soon about that Phantasia preorder ;)). I tend to cancel things that don't come in after a month or so - I will need to do that with Disgaea 2 probably. The only problem as of right now is I can't think of anything to switch it to - so I'll probably just wait till Wii preorders start and use that for part of the payment.

Hopefully. But like I have said many many times, don't expect things to change for the better. GR is on a very steep slope right now. VERY steep. I will be SHOCKED if any GRs get 2 PS3s for the entire Holiday season. With the low allocation amounts I could see Sony not sending any to GR whatsoever. Even the Wii...with Blockbuster and Nintendo not getting along very well (Dating back to the 80's...still prevelant today).

Yeah, I kinda forgot about that. Still, the market has changed a decent amount.

Also, the price tag is going to turn off a large amount of buyers. The system is twice the price of the original PS2 when it came out. I see the demands being similar to the Xbox 360 launch. That's just me.

Does anyone know if Gamerush will be taking preorders for the Wii once the price is announced (supposedly next week)? The only game places around me besides Gamerush are Gamestops, and I'm worried about preordering there (as I don't want a bundle forced on me). If Gamerush will be getting Wiis and accepting preorders, I'd love to put money down there. I thought I would ask here though and see if anyone knew. Thanks in advance for any help given.

PS3 will sellout. If it was $1000 it will still sell out of all 400,000 units in the first day. Its SONY and its a PLAYSTATION. How many people will be buying it for a Blu Ray player (I know I am). Im NOT a Sony fan by any means (I do own a PSP with 20 or so games), but do not underestimate the power of PS3. It will sell out, no doubt about it.

Picked up a Future Tactics and Fantavision to take to EB today. Traded yet another Aeon Flux @$19. I saw DS Lites at both GRs I went to today.
anyone know if the prices for the 75% off stuff is still good? Or did they go back up ?
Yes - my GR must have found as few things in the storeroom as I picked up Metroid Prime 2 the other day (new, for $5). Otherwise, all the other clearance games except for a few of the Sports games have been gone for a long time at my store.

I find it hard to believe Fantavision and Future Tactics are the only $2.99 non-sports games at GR. Hasn't anyone found any more? I'm hoping some games are mistagged at mine :D.

I couldn't find any Future Tactics at my GR but I did find 2 Fantavisions. They were both tagged at 6.99. Also Extermination (PS2) was there for 2.99.

Does anyone have experience with the blockbuster online store? I was thinking about preordering Contact off of blockbusters online store, but haven't had any experience with it. Since my bm gamerush hasn't been receiving too many games, I thought this might be a better route. Can anyone vouch for it? thanks

eraser813, did you get a price check on those? sometimes they leave the stickers tagged on the game case but that isn't necessarily the correct price. one time i asked the clerk how much death, jr. was on the shelf. they looked it up and told me 16.99 while the sticker still had 24.99.

I assumed he knew that (and was just reporting that they were mispriced). After all, that was my point in posting the $2.99 games - many stores will have them marked higher, but we all know BB/GR prices are uniform (franchise stores excepted). Now I can see if they have Extermination mispriced at my store, so that's one to look for, thanks eraser813. Anyone find any other $2.99 (non-sports) games?

i guess 1080 snowboarding for gamecube ($2.99 preplayed) is a sports game too, but i picked it up at a blockbuster's in downtown Boston (don't know specifics store location 'cause it was a weekend trip to a friends place)
Do the new hockey games come out this week? I may use my credit on one or at least rent them to compare.
They should both be out on Wednesday.
the thread says the Logitech Pro Gear Pocket is $5 for psp does this mean playgear pocket? or is this an item i dunno about?
Yeah, it's the Playgear Pocket. I just wrote that wrong.
