Current Sales Deals

All Playstation 1 games $2 (both used & new)

GR is clearing out their stock of Playstation one games for $2 a piece. Get them while they last.

DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.
You had to send tropical storm Alberto this way, didn't you? :whistle2:(
Yikes, sorry, I had no idea (not watching the news recently). Is that really going to effect you? We had a fluke thunderstorm here today (Pacific NW doesn't usually get them). Wierd stuff going on...

But hey, what are you doing on a computer!? Get back to your lawn bowling or whatever it is you are doing out there :D.

I hope some of my old XBOX games still sell for $6.99....I think I have like Crash Nitro Kart, World Series Poker (whatever the 1st Poker game was called) and Doom 3 or a few others.

I'm tempted to get a DS also, but I think I'm just caught up in the hype....I'll stick with my PSP.

You MUST get a DS if you don't even have one yet. I'm holding off on the hype to dump my old DS for the lite. I am going to wait for a new color and/or bundle around Christmas time (green or gold with Zelda? :D).

I have a GBA NES retro style... should I really pick up a DS? Is the DS like a thumbed down N64? I've played a demo of Mario Kart at Sears... seems kinda cool but I already have a PSP. Then again, I want to use my GR credit on Wii and PS3 and games... Is the DS lite going to come in black? Or, even better yet the NES retro style?

pick one up in San Dimas, CA. They said it was the only one... now going to return the one i bought at Target.... can't wait to play it.. although want to wait for cooler color.. oh well.. hope my wife like the white one.. then I may pick up another color ... gold zelda!!! :) later

Yeah, that is my dilemma.....I only want it because it's the new "thing" right now. I'm really saving my credit for either a Wii or PS3. Don't really want either of them THAT much, but would be cool to own either...IF GR stays around that long.

If not, my credit will go towards 360 games and maybe a DS then, we'll see...I'm not a big portable gamer, and my PSP lately has been used at work to play music and movies (whenever I'm not listening to Sirius) :)
:whistle2:k... Had I known that (and the $6.99 sale minimum instead of $10 trade-in minimum that we heard earlier) I might have saved a few games from the EB deal. Oh well, I'm sure I can find more. I have one set of 3 anyway, but they are on the low end. Hopefully my local GR won't pull some new restriction out of thin air (or from a misunderstanding of the real restrictions like they did before). I could see them thinking they must TRADE for $6.99 or more.
so... honest opinion, should i trade GRAW (x2), CONDEMNED, BURNOUT, OUTFIT, PGR3, and KAMEO in now to gamerush for insanely high trade in prices now or should i wait another week or two for that deal...u think the prices of those will sink soon? Condemned and Outfit seem very susceptible to a price drop...seeing as i bought both for 35 used (and can still do so very easily as theres a TON in stock) and they trade in for 35....

I'm no expert on 360 prices or how quickly they drop as I've never even held one in my hands :D. While it seems likely that there will be the $5 bonus per game deal, it is not definite. But you'll kick yourself if you trade them now and can get $15 extra in a week or two. Sorry, not much help. I'm in the position of having games that aren't worth much, so I can wait and see.

guys,

don't forget that although GR doesn't pricematch, they do match trade in prices (according to their website and in store manager). gamestops here are still giving $70 trade credit for old DS with purchase of DS lite (EBs are not though). GR matched that so I traded in my old DS for 70 bucks and used $70 of trade in credit (that couldn't have cost me more than 30-35 dollars out of pocket) to get a new DS lite....
Yeah, that is my dilemma.....I only want it because it's the new "thing" right now. I'm really saving my credit for either a Wii or PS3.
It's so true about the "it's the new in thing right now" that makes me want to buy one. But, I fell victim to that marketing ploy and consumer hype when the PSP came out. Now that I'm a bit older I don't want to make the mistake of buying something for "coolness" sakes. But everyone seems to like the DS (even the old style) to the PSP! What's up with that???
Don't really want either of them THAT much, but would be cool to own either...IF GR stays around that long.
Hey doubledown, hope you're with me...
May Blockbuster/Gamerush live on til Wii and PS3 launch!!! :applause:

It's all about the games. I have a DS (2 actually) and a PSP. I play the DS at least 10x more than the PSP. I did just finish Daxter last week though (yay, I finally played one of my $40+ GR preorder games before I could find it on clearance for $5 or $10!). Now I'm playing through Mario & Luigi Parterns in Time.

And I was never a big handheld gamer either - had a GBA for the kids but never really got into it myself (though I am going back to play the Fire Emblem games off and on after playing the GC one). The touch screen really does add a unique element to the DS (though it is a non-existant element in M&L PiT).

does this mean that they'll pricematch bestbuy's trade in prices...even though the best buys around here doesnt do the used game thing yet

whats the best way to convert gamerush credit into cash?

Very unlikely that you'll get a GR to pricematch a Best Buy trade-in price if none of them near you actually take games in for trade. You need some sort of proof of the trade value. See the trade-in price wiki for a little more info on it. I wrote up a short paragraph on this policy a little while ago.

To those non-believers about DBZ 2, I looked up the price of several DBZ games, results are below. Also, about the non-US release games- there's no way for me to see in the system whether it's US or other release. Therefore, if it's in the system, it CAN be traded in (whether the person at the counter will let you is YMMV). Here is the list through the end of the B's (PS2).

Condemned and Outfit seem very susceptible to a price drop...seeing as i bought both for 35 used (and can still do so very easily as theres a TON in stock) and they trade in for 35....
Condemned and Outfit are only $35 used? Where? At GR? Are there any other 360 games for $35 used? WHERE HAVE I BEEN?!
Checked a few sites, but can't seem to find Batman:DT for the PS2 only GC and Xbox. The other day I saw a PO Xbox copy at GR selling for under $10.
Hmm... now that I think about it, I don't know that I've ever actually seen Dark Tomorrow for PS2. Did a quick eBay check and didn't see any auctions for it. I know there are a couple of other games on that list that didn't come out, so maybe this game is one of them?

Edit: Just checked MetaCritic and there are no reviews for the PS2 version, so it looks like it doesn't exist. So much for that credit builder. :(

Looks like it was cancelled. Oh well!!

Maybe whoever keeps track of thread should just remove the ones that are confirmed not to exist (and possibly the non-US versions as well, since perhaps the entry is meant for the US release that never happened). Will make the list a little cleaner and keep people from hunting down titles that don't exist. Kind of like when wherehouse.com was giving $27.50 for titles that were never released.

Yeah, I had planned to make a little note next to the games that were never released in the Wiki (if nobody does it before I do).

I just called on PS2 Dragonball Z 2 five minutes ago and got a quote of $2.50.

The guy didn't seem to know for sure though.

Please confirm?

Well, now it's 10 at a different store. When someone gets a consistent $$$ amount, please post...

Is the Mark Ecko's Getting Up and Matrix: Path of Neo still getting $19. With CC selling them for $9, you can build a little credit.

Last week Neo dropped to $12 and Ecko was still fetching $19. Don't know about this week though.

Okay, I read the email about the upcoming trade-in deal. Not too good.

Starting 6/26, a Trade 3 Get an Extra $5 deal will begin. The games must have a trade-in value of greater than $6.99 and the deal excludes sports games from the year 2005 and older. The current details of the deal do not specify whether it is just $5 extra per 3 games traded, or whether it is $5 extra for each of the 3 games traded. I'm sure there will be some clarification when the deal goes into affect.

Keep in mind that in the past GameRush has had similar trade-in deals where there was poor wording, so by the time the deal goes into affect, maybe we'll get lucky and that $6.99 will actually correspond to GR's used selling price. As, always I'll update when GR figures out exactly what they are doing.

I just thought I would ask; how exactly does this EB/GS deal you speak of work? I know it has something to do with transferring GameRush credits to an EBGames or GameStop store, but I am curious, how does this work?

I am still hoping to find aeon flux for crediting building somewhere since it gets $27. You could always grab flatout/aeon flux on the ebgames b1g1 deal cheapyd posted the other day $20 and get $53 credit.

If your circuit city has the LE getting up left its markdown to $8.96 and it gets $24 still.

Hopefully so, as it seems weird to refer to trade-in values with x.99, seeing as how they're usually round numbers. I guess we shall see.

Still no DS Lites in my area (SoCal), if the people on the phone are a reliable source. The Sepulveda Culver City location says they "won't be getting any," while the National Ave. GR says they "haven't seen them in yet."

I'm not in a huge hurry to get one, but it's still a little annoying. It's kind of par for the GameRush course.

Well, GR words things badly on daily basis

It dosn't make much sense for a game to trade-in for more then $6.99, and nothing they trade-in has odd-cents like that. Makes much for sense for the game to SELL for $6.99 or more.

Who knows.

anyone know how much $6.99 pre-played games trade in for? example... alien hominid fetches a $2.50 trade-in value. any chance it's a game that sells for $6.99 pre-played?

Sepulveda Gamerush (in Culver City) never gets anything.

Sepulveda Gamerush (in Westchester) said they are suppose to get some.

In case anyone was wondering, as of Tues night:

PS2 - Castlevania Curse of Darkness: $12
PS2 - Indigo Prophecy: $6
PS2 - Matrix Path of Neo: $12
PS2 - Marc Ecko's Getting UP LE: $24
PS2 - Nightmare Before Christmas Oogie's Revenge: $19

ding ding ding... we have a winner!

I kept forgetting to ask about Wild Arms 4, but assuming they sell it for $29.99, it is probably $12. It might be worth asking about Driver Parallel Lines.

Edit - It appears Haunting Ground is now one of the $8.96 titles at CC (as are those listed above). Wonder if that still gets $19. Of course I found out about this after I got home from two CC's. Gauntlet Seven Sorrows is another that might be worth something at BB/GR.
It might be worth asking about Driver Parallel Lines.
I checked, and Driver: Parallel Lines is getting $19 at GR. Also, The Warriors trades for $12, and Hulk: Ultimate Destruction gets a paltry $6.

Damn, I had a feeling about Driver and passed on it. There were tons of all of these games at the CC I went to. I didn't know about Gauntlet Seven Sorrows or I would have gotten that for myself (and a second copy to check at GR). Hmmm... The Warriors is another that might have possibilities.

By the way, I'm now the proud owner of 3 Marc Ecko limited edition silver Sharpie pens .

Sorry, you got buried there :D. We simply mean finding games that you can buy at GR and trade-in at EB/GS for an equivalent amount (or possibly a small profit). It is just simply a way of transferring credit to EB/GS where it is more useful (as they get every game in, almost always on time).

It helps that EB/GS has the extra $10 per 4 game deal right now (we thought it ended today but it is being extended through mid-July).

sweetness, thought my cheapy games went to waste

I updated the wiki with the latest prices up to here - including the long list a few pages back. I removed a few that I know are non-US or cancelled games. Let me know if there are any more. Might as well not confuse people who will be out looking for these games (with great trade-in values) that don't exist :D.
sweetness, thought my cheapy games went to waste
I'm super-pissed I was at a Best Buy tonight that had multiple Silent Hill 4 and Genji and I didn't have another copy of the DAMN COUPON with me ($5 off). I used my only one earlier to get a free copy of Duel Masters :D. Actually, 2 Best Buy's had copies and I skipped SH4 at the first one in favor of Duel Masters, but that was before I realized the EB/GS deal was back. Best Buy must have restocked these games. Of course, my GR still has a few SH4 as well. I'm going to get myself in trouble at the local EB's if I keep bringing in more Silent Hill variants though :D.

I confirmed today (06/13) that Gauntlet and Warriors both get $12 in credit
