DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

- Marc Ecko GU LE (to see if it drops Weds)
- Nightmare Oogies Revenge (ditto)

- Haunting Ground (to see if it is still $19 as it was a while ago)
- Backyard Football 2006

Do prices ever change between Tuesday and Wednesday? I thought that price changes always appear on Tuesday mornings at GR. Unless that's not true, the prices for Ecko, Nightmare, and Driver should be good for another week.

Last time when I believe it was a similar restriction (assuming it will be sale price and not trade-in price), the lowest you could get the bonus on was games that traded in for $2. Anything (a la Max Payne) that only fetched $1.50 didn't go. I think those may have been the 4.99 (sale) games.

Where are all these games quoted above available cheap? All CC clearance games? If so I guess I can pass since my CC doesn't believe in carrying clearance games :p

The first three held their prices (Marc Ecko GU LE for $24, Nightmare and Driver for $19) according to a trade about thirty minutes ago. Turning $28 and change into $62 isn't a bad way to spend lunch.

I checked Rugby 06 (brought the rental copy up to be scanned) - it is $12 as you suspected. I couldn't remember what the other titles were.

As of yesterday it still did, and if the LE is still $24 today I imagine the regular is still $19. But there's always the slightest chance it isn't.
 
Does anyone know the trade value of Time Crisis: Crisis Zone w/Guncon? I grabbed a new one from CC this morning to replace my beat-up used copy.

Also I grabbed a copy of Flatout for PS2, does anyone know if it still trades for $24?

I was just at CC today and forget to check dammit. I checked aeon flux and several others just in case of a price drop, but didn't check flatout...

Oh well Ecko LE, Driver, Nightmare, Flatout for under $40 to $86 credit could be worth another trip...

Took a trip to CC and Blockbuster today...I can confirm these trade in prices:

I've got GR store credit again...now just have to shop around for the DS Lite and New Super Mario Bros. I might also grab a couple copies of Phoenix Wright for Ebay since I see it's jumped back up again. Saw plenty of copies last week when I did a circuit around town...helps to have about 30 BB/GR stores within an hour of your house.

Also considering hitting up another CC to build up some more credit for a Wii. Probably end up spending it before the Wii is released though.

I was tempted to keep one of the 2 copies of the Mark Ecko LE tin I found at $9 but I don't think I'd play it...especially after the mediocre reviews. The collector tin, LE Sharpie, hard cover art book, and bonus cd are pretty cool though...any other video game I would have definitely kept a copy.
 
May have to take a few of the latest CC sale to Rhino for the 2 for 1 since a couple qualify. If you are going to trade several of these in at once consider taking some junk you know won't get more then a $1.00 with you. Then when they ring it up you can just say I will keep these if you are only giving me a $1, but yeah the other five for $19, $19, $19, $19, and $24 I will trade in. Gran turismo 3 and the old sports games come in handy again. Bringing in 5 CC games for $100 credit exactly, especially since they are all trading high might raise a red flag. Spread them out if you can...
 
Well, I made a run to 2 CC's today to find trade-in fodder (and a few games for myself). I was unsuccessful in finding Gauntlet Seven Sorrows. If anyone grabbed one and wants to trade for something equivalent (Wild Arms 4, Indigo Prophecy, Castlevania, a few others - just ask) I'd appreciate it.

Remember when you run to CC to take old receipts if you bought Marc Ecko's or Matrix's (Matrices?) during the $9.99 sale and weren't able to price match at the time. You'll get $1.03 (+10% perhaps) back. It isn't much, but I was able to adjust 5 purchases and get my gas money for the run back, at least :D.

I was only able to find 1 copy of Flatout, but endless supplies of Marc Ecko LE, Driver, and Nightmare Before Christmas. Those Ecko LE's are quite a load, so I would recommend only bringing 1 to any single store. They are definitely attention getters. One BB almost refused it because they said they wouldn't be able to secure it in any way. A phone call to the manager later, and they took it ("if it scans, take it").

I went in to GR and picked up Big Brain Academy, which was a bit of a surprise. I also checked on a few preorders (remember those).

ATTENTION Botticus - Super Paper Mario is in the system (as expected, at $49.99)! Also, for the rest of you, Valkyrie Profile Lenneth for PSP is in ($39.99 just like EB, what do you know!). No Legend of Zelda for DS yet though. I was able to cancel my Okami and Rogue Galaxy preorders and switch them for SPM and VPL, pocketing (or rather, crediting) the $10 difference on the one. I have those 2 preordered at EB where they only charge $39.99 for them.
 
How much is Flatout at Circuit City? I can't seem to find it in the clearance thread. My CC probably has at least 1 copy. They had everything else.

Edit: Nevermind, I see it now. It was added after I printed the list out.
 
Wow, thanks for all the trade-in prices on the CC games. I will have to check CC today after work.....I would love to change $40 into $80 or so. I may pre-order NCAA 07 also with it....
 
More trade-in prices. By the way, I don't remember if I mentioned this previosuly, but all of these prices are from a Blockbuster, NOT Gamerush, so every once in a while there will be price differences, but they will be few and far between. Let me know if you want me to look up anything specific, otherwise I will continue to go down the list as I have.

Saw a Magna Carta Deluxe at a GR. It was locked up and didn't have a price tag . They couldn't locate the key to open the display. Anyways, anyone know the price of it. It was sitting right next to a Wario Twisted for GBA marked 9.99 which I wanted as well.

Will regular BB take games for trade in? I might need some new places to trade.
 
Is Mark Ecko: Getting Up LE still getting $24 (for PS2)? I might stop by my Blockbuster after work today, and I want to know if I can open it up.
 
Can't seem to find the post in the old GR thread. What were the 360 games that dropped to $35 used on 6/5? I know Burnout Revenge and a few sports games. Couldn't remember if there was anything else worthwhile.
 
Well my friends if your local GR has the Xbox 12 Month Kit with Game they are still half off so they are 35 bucks.

I know The Outfit is one and I believe Condemned and Full Auto were the other two.
 
Anyone know what the Game boy SP goes for? I want a Lite and I have about 70 in credit. I'm also thinking about wanting until the 26 to get the 5 more deal. I also have Dawn of Souls to trade in. Man, decisions, decisions..
 
I updated the CAGwiki with all the latest prices and dates.

Now I need to decide if I want to bring an Ecko LE into my local BB - the one that asked me if I was going to buy anything last time I traded. On the one hand I don't want to draw too much attention to myself, but on the other hand I'm only ever going to bring one in there and as I do have a valid trading account and they accept trade-ins I *should* have nothing to worry about! At EB I never feel this way, but damn it if BB/GR doesn't just make you nervous. Maybe I'll rent a movie just to placate them :D.

You can find it on Ebay for $5 shipped occasionally...I doubt the trade-in price will drop anytime soon considering how old the game is.

It's also $4.99 in-store and GS/EB and pretty easy to find. I might take my copy I paid $5 for online and confirm the $19 price. If it does in fact get $19, I may have to keep an eye out for it at EB/GS...I doubt if anyone else will be looking for this game to actually play...so there's probably copies collecting dust everywhere.

Edit: Nevermind...I see that's the PS2 trade-in price. I'm guessing the Gamecube price is like 50 cents or something. :(

I'm 99.99999% sure that Charlie's Angels does not exist in the U.S. for the PS2. Maybe you are thinking of the GameCube version, which I'm sure doesn't trade for much at GameRush because they sell it for around $9.99 used.

Huh, I've never had anyone even bat an eye when I trade in games, even if I bring in a couple copies of the same thing. Maybe you look guilty? :p
 
I traded in a few CC games....turned $19 into $38, not bad.

I also asked about the PS3 or Wii, no systems yet. There WAS PS3 games in the system though.

Well, maybe it is because I have dumped alot of games into this local BB, but I rarely ever buy anything. The money all gets spent at GR. So they like me at GR (where I keep my trading to a minimum) but hate me at the local CC :D.

Doubledown - what PS3 games did they have in the system?
 
IO I was hassled about the Ecko LE edition as well. Gave me we don't have anyway to put it out of on the floor excuse. I just took the game out of the case and said here I will trade the game in by itself and keep the tin case and all the extras. When the manager found the game scanned by itself for $19, he was like umm no on second thought I will take the whole tin for $5 more.

Yeah, I'm about to head into the local BB and see what happens. I figured I could fall back on the game itself if need be. My kids can use the tin to store toys or something :D.

On the extra $5 deal - I figure it is NOT worth waiting on Ecko or Driver anyway, as those are bound to drop soon. But it might be worth waiting on Flatout, Haunting Ground, and Nightmare Before Christmas. In fact, I was about to bring my last Nightmare Before Christmas in today - maybe I'll hold off on that one.

I had a couple Getting Up LE's and Drivers and I was thinking about holding off, but like IO said, I'm pretty sure they'll drop before then. I'm still surprised that they haven't already since they are $20 new at any other store

WARNING WARNING WARNING....

When I went in to trade Ecko and Driver the clerk mistakenly rang up Driver as a purchase (not sure if used or new - I'm guessing new) and it came up $19.99! So, if the new or used value is $19.99, don't expect it to trade for $19 for too much longer. I'd say you have till next Tuesday at the latest on that one. I don't know about Ecko.

By the way, no problem today at my local BB - much nicer girl there today :D.
