DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

75% off Select New Games & New Accessories

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.

Reported Trade-In Prices

Trade-In Price Wiki
Just got back from trading in the last of my CC items. It looks like Flatout PS2 will hold for another week, I watched them sticker it $39.99 after I traded it in. I hit up a 2nd store for the 75% off games. Here is what I ended up picking up...

Metroid Classics GBA $2.50
Mr Driller DS $5
Otogi Xbox $5
Riddick Xbox $5
Castlevania Lament PS2 $5
Pikmin 2 GC $7.50
Dead or Alive Ultimate Collection Xbox $5
Killer 7 GC $3.75
Suffering Xbox $5
Metal Gear 3 Snake Eater $5
Silent Hill 4 Xbox $5

Total $53.75 + tax

I didn't realize Mr Driller was included, but it was tagged in the store for $5. They were thrilled to check games for me since they have inventory this week and want to get rid as much as possible. BTW the second store I hit had the accessories tagged 75% off as well. Plus the manager indicated other stores were going to be shipping items to his store over the next week so he would be getting more in. Perhaps the regular blockbuster store are packing up whatever they have left and sending it to GR.
Which GR did you hit?
I honestly couldn't wager what they'll ring up at, but it would be my assumption that they are indeed $70 again. I'm guessing that GR just turned off the 50% off sale when they repriced the items. I'm just speculating here though.
Not only are the XBOX Live starter kits $17.50, but I even wound up getting one for $7.50 since the store I went to had them mismarked! (they'd only sell one to me at that price, though, so I wound up getting the MechAssault kit for $7.50 and a Crimson Skies kit for $17.50)/

That's awesome. Gotta pick one or two of those up. I guess it's worth checking the Pro Duos as well to see what those are at now.

Found a couple of games that are free after PriceGrabber rebate (I'm sure there are more, but these were just some I checked):

GBA:
Super Puzzle Fighter II

DS:
Spider-Man 2

GameCube:
DragonBall Z: Budokai
Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets
James Bond: Everything Or Nothing
Metal Arms
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4
Ty The Tasmanian Tiger

Figured I'd just point those out for those that are PriceGrabber savvy.

Well I wanted a Psychonauts so I hit another GR up. They didn't have any out, but behind the counter in the cabinets they had a copy. Don't be shy about asking them to check the cabinets, when she was pulling it out for me I saw a copy of Y's Ark for the PS2, which is now $10. BTW they had accessories marked 75% off as well

Ended up picking up

Psychonauts PS2 $7.50
Dynasty Warriors PSP $7.50

Here is something I was shocked to find

Nyko Charger Case PSP $12.50 ORIGINALLY $49.99

BTW I noticed Y's Ark of Napishtism is now $19.99 new for the PSP. They had Astonishia Story for the PSP in finally. Also they just were putting up display boxes for the new Valkyrie Profile PSP game, almost went ahead and preordered it.

Went to the Wesley Chapel and Land O' Lakes (Go gators!) Gamerushes.
I was able to get the following using the meager credit I had left.

Dead or Alive Ultimate
NBA Street Vol. 3 NGC
Transformers
Killer 7
Chronicles of Riddick

I left a number of games, I need to build more credit.
Which GR did you hit?
The one off shallowford had tons of games and they were all labeled for the most part. They were on a table, endcaps, and a big bin. They still had several games mixed in with the new games not marked like batman begins, etc.

Town Lake had a nice selection as well since they seemed to have quite a few still in the cabinets and mixed in with the other new games. They still had copies of Mr Driller, Metroid Classics, and a Mario Party Advance with the new release games as well. They had several DOA ultimate collections behind the counter now at $5 here. Batman Rise of Sin Tsu for the PS2 boxes with the free figure inside were $4.25 behind the counter as well. I forgot to check for the xbox live kits so it you hit either let me know if they have any...

The GameRushes on the other side of the bay are picked pretty clean. I didn't start looking until 1pm, and when I made the rounds everything good was already gone. I'm bummed that I missed the game/bongo combos at the Gulf-to-Bay location. :cry:
Kjauburn, was the Pikmin 2 the Players Choice version? Just wondering if the discount is good on Greatest hits/PC versions, etc.
The version at the store near me was the regular version...

What pricegrabber rebate?
Is this Xbox Live for 17.50, the 360 version, or just the original Xbox version?
It's the original version but will it also work on the 360???

I picked up a GIGANTIC stack of games at my GR. Some for me and the kids, some for my brother-in-law, and some for EB/GC trading. Since they were repricing things with actual price stickers ("$3.75", "$5.00", etc) I figured I'd better get what I wanted NOW. I grabbed lots of stuff that looked promising for trade-in, but I really have no idea and some of it I might return (they shouldn't be too uptight about that, especially after I cleared so much shelf space for them today!).

The DS Harry Potter Goblet of Fire that I had been waiting and waiting on apparently got sold right before the sale started. If anyone can snag one of those I'll trade for any other $5 clearance GR game - just check with me to see what I have or can get. I guess I should have bought it at $10, oh well...

Good sign - Manager says the sale is to make room for PS3/Wii games.

Bad sign - Kid comes in, fresh off school being out, with his disposable summer cash, and wants to buy New Super Mario Brothers. GR, of course, does not have it and only ever got 2, one of which was my preorder. On the plus side, some other kids (with their disposable summer cash) bought a Shadow of Colossus + guide. That's the first time I've ever seen a guide sold there :D.

Plus they managed to unload alot of their old shelf-sitting clearance crap to some guy from CAG :D

And, please, let's keep the moralizing to a minimum about people hoarding for themselves or EB trade-ins - this stuff has been sitting around for, what, 3 months now at 50% off? And in the last 2 months it has barely been touched. Anyone who really wanted game X would have picked it up at 50% off.

Neither of the Game Rush stores I went to knew about the 75% off and the employees were kinda shocked, especially when they saw the big stack of crap I was getting. Here's the 75% off games I got with their new prices:

Viewtiful Joe 2 (PS2, GC) - $3.75
Midway Arcade Treasures 3 (PS2) - $7.99 (passed on this, shouldn't it have been cheaper?)
Midway Arcade Treasures 3 (Xbox) - $14.99 (definetly passed on this one...is that even 50% off?)
The Guy Game (Xbox) - $10.00
BMX XXX (GC) - $2.50
Killer 7 (GC) - $3.75
Megaman Anniversary Collection (PS2, XB) - $5.00
Harry Potter (DS) - $5.00
Dynasty Warrios (PSP) - $7.50
Dark Cloud (PS2) $3.75
Smart Bomb (PSP) $7.50
Project Snowblind (XB) $2.50
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2) - $5
Baiten Kaitos (GC) - $7.50
Xenosaga II (PS2) - $5
Donkey Konga Jungle Beat w/controller (GC) - $13.75
Eye Toy Kinetic w/cam - $12.50 (thought it was supposed to be $10? Bought it anyway.)
Psychonauts (XB) - $7.50
Fable (XB) - $5.00
Metroid Prime 2 (GC) - $5
XIII (XB) - $2.50

IO by chance did you see any bomberman for the ds. I believe i saw several HP DS at one of the stores near me. I will stop in and check again when I get a chance...

Some good ways with the new clearance to turn GR credit into EB/GS credit:
SSX on tour (all formats)
DOA Ultimate (XBOX)
Timesplitters:FP (all formats)
Budokai 2 (GCN)
Metroid prime 2 (GCN)
IO by chance did you see any bomberman for the ds. I believe i saw several HP DS at one of the stores near me. I will stop in and check again when I get a chance...
No, in fact I was trying to trade for that when 50% off hit way back. So, actually, I'm looking for Harry Potter and Bomberman for DS :D. I can get Mr Driller, Feel The Magic, Madden '05, and a few others. Though, like I said, they are busy repricing so some of this stuff will be gone soon. If anyone wants me to look into stock for them ASK NOW - I might remember some of it, and if not I'll probably be there again tomorrow to check.

I do know that they don't have any *really* good stuff, as they didn't have most of that when 50% hit (like Dynasty Warriors, SHC, Y's, those GC dance things everyone else got, etc).

Oh, that reminds me, I took the empty case for YS and an empty case for Guy Game up to the register at the first GR I went to. They didn't have either. Not sure why the cases were out there then. I think I actually tried to buy Guy Game from that same store months ago at 50% off and they didn't have it then either...but they put the case back out on the floor, of course. Morons. I'm sure both cases will be out there again next time I visit. I found Guy Game at the second GR I went to, so no big deal...but YS for 75% off would have been nice.

Yea, Well that dumbass GR in Atlanta actually SOLD me an empty Shrek Super Party case as new (it was sealed with a new price sticker). Fortunately I was able to get my local BB to take it back.

At my GR they don't put empty cases out at all - all real games are out to purchase (they are in security cases though).

One store near me always tell me they don't have it even when they do sometimes. Truth is they don't keep the games in the cabinet in any order at all, at least this store doesn't. If you get the wrong person at the register they just say oops sorry we don't have it. Other employees will go dig in for 5 minutes looking for it.

Today the lady there was nice enough to go search for about 5 minutes to find psychonauts. She actually said to me it says we have 2, but I don't know if I will be able to find them. I walked over to the other counter to see if I could spot it and sure enough the games were just randomly thrown into the cabinets not even in order by system. I know this store will be one of the ones closing if they shut some down...

Check the wiki. With bonus, you'll make $3-5 per game. Besides, EB/GS credit is more useful

They put all the real games out in security cases...but a handful of games have special fake cases that actually have "Display Only" printed on them. I guess it depends on whether the manufacturer sends them a fake case or not. They never actually open a game and put out the empty case.

I did go to a GR on the other side of town that opens all their DS games and puts out the empty cases. I tried to buy New Super Mario Bros. there but they didn't have it...just the empty case. And they put the empty case right back out after telling me it was out of stock. Why tease people like that if you don't have the game?

Jayson: Oh, there's a Wiki for GS/EB too? I hadn't noticed. I rarely go there. GR credit is more useful to me...mine are always well stocked with new and used games and have better prices than GS/EB on most used stuff I want, especially on DS/GBA games. Plus, my GR doesn't throw the boxes and manuals away for GBA/DS games like a lot of the GS/EB stores around here do.
Does the $75% off apply to the accessories as well? I'd love to pick up some PSP batteries and memory sticks and 75% off.
Try it and let us know...there are better deals to be had on PSP Pro Duo sticks though...like 1 gig for $30 at Compusa, I believe. Even at 75% they'd probably be higher at GR.

OK, here's a few GR->EB credit transfer possibilities, using the EB CAGwiki prices (note that some may have dropped more recently). Price at EB/GS are before $2.50 bonus which applies to all but GBA games:

:gba:
TMNT $3.25 -> $6

:ds:
Mr Driller $5 -> $3
Rayman $5 -> $4
Zoo Keeper $5 -> $3

:gc:
Baten Kaitos $5?? -> $6
Metroid Prime 2 $5 -> $6
Pikmin 2 $7.50 -> $8 (I would find better uses for these two, like as gifts!)
SSX 3 $4.25 -> $3
SRS $5 -> $3

:ps2:
Dark Cloud $3.75 -> $4
DMC 2 $5 -> ?? (between $4 and $8 hopefully)
Def Jam NY $5? -> $7
Hot Shots Golf Fore $5 -> $5
Punisher $5 -> $5
Star Wars Starfighter $3.75 -> $2.50
Sly Cooper $5 -> $4
SSX on Tour $5 -> $6

:xbox:
Silent Hill 4 $5 ->$7

I'm sure there are many more hidden (and better) ones. These are the only ones I remember seeing at my GR that we also have prices for in EB in the CAGwiki, which is woefully inadequate when trying to price out the entire GR list :D

My GR had several Mortal Kombat Deception Premium Packs. Think those are worth anything to trade in to EB/GS? Of course we're missing the price even for the regular version of Deception on the CAGwiki.

Are these pre-played prices? Or those going on with the 75% off sale?

HUGE SCORE!

So, I hit up my main GR. The 50% games are gone! Oh Noes. Turns out the nice lady at the register is remarking them. I ask if they've hit 75% off. She says they are still 50% off, but the original prices have dropped. Cool. I pick up:

Max Payne 2
Psi-Ops
Jade Empire
SSX On Tour (GC)
NBA Street Vol. 2 (GC)

...all for just around $5-$7 each. Total was $28.48.

I then hit up my other GR, and find a new copy of Donkey Konga w/ Bongos for only $11! Grab that, and then pick up Outrun 2 for $5. Then, I see a perfect condition, used GBPlayer for the GCN for $16, so I made a blind-buy on that one. Also pick up a TSFP and Pariah for $5 each. Total is about $50.

So, 8 games, Donkey Konga, GB Player for about $80 of GR credit, which is like $40 cash out of my pocket. Big score, I think.

Anyhoo, they had all the new accessories that were 50% off down to 75% off, including memory sticks, PSP batteries, Street Fighter controllers, etc.

However, the Eyetoy games (W/ Eyetoy) were marked $10. Are they that much, or are they even cheaper?

These are all NEW prices with the 75% off. Funny enough, these games all probably cost MORE used at BB/GR! They didn't adjust during 50% off (for example, Silent Hill 4 for PS2 was $10 new, but $16.99 used :rofl:). They DID, however, cut down the trade-in values of said games so that they couldn't be flipped right back to GR (and probably still not worth it even with the $5 bonus though you might find a few - I'm not into that sort of thing though, I'll just take them to EB). At least they are not totally brain dead :D.

HOWEVER, now that the prices have been cut, as opposed to applying the "coupon", it is possible the used prices have dropped significantly as well. That would be great both for our collections and in expanding the potential EB trade-in pool.

Killer 7 costs $4-something after 75% off, and will be able to trade for $6.25 after $5 bonus tommorrow. Nothing great, but would be good if you have only two games to trade, and need another to hit the 3-minimum.

I can confirm that most of these are more used than new. I price checked a few used today to see if I could save a buck or two. Also, as I reported earlier, Baten Kaitos is $7.50 at GR now not $5, which may kill that trade-in.

Killer 7 is $3.75 before tax. I bought it today as well.

Mattcube: Eye Toy games that are on sale will be $10 or $12.50. I bought Eye Toy Kinetic today for $12.50. I guess it retailed for $50 at GR? The other games retailed for $40 so 75% off would be $10. Eye Toy Play 2 isn't on sale is it? My GR has plenty of copies and it's one of the only Eye Toy games I don't have already. I also don't have Operation Spy but that one is turning out to be kinda hard to find locally.

Ah, OK, thanks... I wasn't sure about BK. I forgot to snag one today. Of course, MY copy of the game, which I have yet to open, came from the stupid preorder deal :lol:. So I feel like I got ripped off on that one. I'd like to use it to increase my EB credit, but it sounds iffy - more like a straight transfer.

When I bought the Nyko Charger case today for $12.50 I checked the 512 sticks they had sitting there. They were coming up $15 for a 512 stick, but I passed. Now if I could find a 1 GB for $20 I would be on it. FYI I think there could be different UPC on some of the memory stick so check them before you buy it.

Wish I could find some bongos as well. They had about half dozen a week ago, but they put them near the registers with a sign and I guess someone bought them over the last week. Still I can't complain on the charger case find since it was $69.99, price dropped to $49.99, then 75% off :applause:

wow thanx a lot, ive been looking for something like this

Took a trip to a Game Rush in the ghetto to see if I could find anything new. Got the following:

Donkey Konga 1 w/bongos $11.25
Donkey Konga 2 w/bongos $11.25 (didn't see this in the original post)
Leisure Suit Larry (XB) $5.00
Ys: The Ark of Napishtim - $10.00

Not bad, especially considering that was GR store credit which cost me about half that in cash.

Also, I noticed this GR had 4 or 5 sealed copies of Castlevania DS in the case...been there since the game came out. I made a mental note in case the game gets reduced down to $20 or something.
