DEAD: Ended 8/7/06 Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game

Receive an extra $5 PER GAME when you trade in 3 or more games. Games must have a used price of $7.99 or more to qualify for the extra $5. Also, 2005 and 2k5 sports games and newer WILL count for the bonus.

The employee must adjust the trade-in price of the games manually, but there is an option in the computer specifically set up for this deal. It is option #2 and will say something along the lines of "Trade 3 or More Games & Get an Extra $5 for Each Game". The employee must do this for each of the games that qualify.

Please note: The prices listed are the 75% off price.

This sale is also good at regular Blockbusters (YMMV at franchised locations), but your selection there is obviously going to be limited compared to GameRush stores.

Reported Trade-In Prices

Trade-In Price Wiki
(Cross-posted to GameRush and EB/GS trade threads.)
It also seems that in addition to Mortal Kombat Deception's price going back up, Midway Arcade Treasures 3 (XBX) is $7.99 at two GR's I visited. As you see above, I bought one without realizing the price. For any fellow Orlando CAG's, the Red Bug Lake GR in Oviedo doesn't seem to have any games that you'd call "in demand," but it's still plenty ripe for more flip-farming even after my "modest" haul. If you want to pick nits about price accuracy, a lot of their $5 games actually had regular-style $4.99 stickers on them instead of $5 clearance/sale stickers.
I reported the $7.99 price on Arcade Treasures the first day the games dropped to 75% off. Also, the Mortal Kombat Decption Collector's Edition for PS2 is still $5 but the regular edition is, and possibly always has been, $20. The regular Xbox version of the game is $5 while the Kollector's Edition on X-box rings up $20. Go figure. I tried buying these very early in the sale and more recently and these prices have remained the same as well.
Well, I'm happy, I scored 2 1GB and 2 512 for like 15 and 12 each respectively. This was from San Dimas Gamerush. They were all hiding in some drawer. CA btw
Wait...San Dimas is a real place? I thought it was made up for Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. That's awesome! San Dimas High Football Rules!
Wait...San Dimas is a real place? I thought it was made up for Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure. That's awesome! San Dimas High Football Rules!
LOL .... San Dimas has a Great Water Park in Ranging Waters.... ah the memories of the Black Hole... And the L.A County Fair too in Sept... I remember there used to be a Excellent Buffet place near the 210 (Back when the 210 didn't connect to the 15, just ended at San Dimas)... Okay, I'll shut up now...

I remember someone was looking for Leisure Suit Larry for Xbox. Well, I found one and now I don't remember who was wanting it. :)

I think it was americanpierg. Even with his $4 million on value cards his mommy wouldn't but it for him...

ah... once more a dumbass assumes and makes an ass of himself. of course i said i wanted trauma center for ds, but i guess if i couldnt read either id confuse it with leisure suit larry, its understandable.

LOL. It was me. Ive been to 10 different GR stores now and have never been able to find it.

Nah, he didn't make an ass of himself. It was hilarious.

Here's a couple PS2 trade-in prices to finish the PS2 list through the letter F.

PS2
Fugitive Hunter - $7.00 - 07/06/06
Fugitive Hunter War on Terror - $0.50 - 07/06/06
Full Metal Alchemist - $6.00 (or $12... 2 diff. prices in the system) - 07/06/06
Full Metal Alchemist 2 - $1.00 - 07/06/06
Full Spectrum Warrior - $0.50 - 07/06/06
Full Spectrum Warrior Ten Hammers - $12.00 - 07/06/06
Funk Master Flex Digital Hitz Factory (w/ microphone) - $16.00 - 07/06/06 [did this even come out?]
Funk Master Flex Digital Hitz Factory - $2.50 - 07/06/06 [ditto]
Fur Fighters - $1.25 - 07/06/06
Futurama - $7.00 - 07/06/06
Future Tactics: The Uprising

Fugitive Hunter - $7.00 - 07/06/06

If this gets the extra $5 for the bonus you can pick it up at Gamestop for $5 and turn it into $12....................

lol he owns two Gamerushes too? That is classic ownage.
Eh, I own three GRs, it's not too hard. Pretty easy to flip for profit since I can't be banned, but then my stores lose money on me, so I really just break even. :whistle2:(
This guy lives by me, too! I can't wait to meet him somewhere randomly!
You need to drop kick him in the face for massive damage, or at least break his hands so we don't have to deal with his typing anymore.

I remember at one point americanpierg was leaving CAG forever... maybe it was just wishful thinking.
LOL. It was me. Ive been to 10 different GR stores now and have never been able to find it.
I have an extra of Leisure Suit Larry as well for xbox if you need it.

Well, neither the PS2 or XBX editions (Collector's or regular) ring up at $5 at any of the GR's i went to - i've been to 6 plus just Blockbuster locations and each time either version rang up at $19.99. I was finally able to buy the regular edition for the XBX from Circuit City for $3.96

I'll at least challenge him to a duel.
He has the same join date as me. Sorry guys :whistle2:(
VERY VERY suspicious Botticus. I think he is your evil alter ego :D

Back on GR news, was finally able to find a regular BB running the $5 bonus deal. Yipee! I don't know what's going on around here but they told me only 2 regular stores in the area are running it, and they welcomed my trades. Luckliy I had some stuff in the car :D.

This BB also had some hidden sale games - I just wish I had the list on me at the time. They didn't even have the 50% signs up like most of the others. The only 'gem' in there was GoldenEye for GC at $5. I also picked up some other EB fodder like Xbox Test Drive and Agent Under Fire. But add GoldenEye to the small list of games regular BB's might have as new. Strangely enough the PS2 version of Test Drive is not on sale (which is too bad as it was only $9.99 - would have been $2.50). I have a feeling if I were to run around to all the regular BB's in the area I could have quite a haul for trading to EB. Problem is, most of them are only the "Tier 3" $1 trade-in games. They are still worth it, just not probably worth going out of the way to get.

Fortunately this BB that does the $5 bonus is right next to somewhere I need to go every day for the next 3 weeks anyway. So I can lay off my GR trades again. Now I'll just have to see if they take GBA games :D. Unfortunately I don't really have much left to trade in at this point. Shocking, I know .

Ahhhhh!!!! It's the EVIL sig!

So looking back (since I don't think anyone caught my previous question), it seems that the PS2 Driver: PL at $16 is still eligible for the bonus. Anyone know otherwise? I guess I will be picking that one up after all to trade in with some other items.

Depending on how long I have to work tomorrow, I may scoot up to the Mentor BB and CC to see if there's anything worth getting there to trade. If only it didn't scare me to drive my car on the expressway... stupid wheel bearings.

Don't worry, there's nothing in Redford anyways. It's basically all residential.
Fortunately this BB that does the $5 bonus is right next to somewhere I need to go every day for the next 3 weeks anyway.
Go on...

I'm nosy. :D

We might see a drop this weekend though. Now that I found a good BB I'd be curious as well - but I'd need to make sure there isn't a used price adjustment this Sat/Sun that makes the bump not happen on Monday (followed by a trade-in price drop Tuesday). Monday is the next day I can trade at this location. I traded in the 'lower' games today - Matrix, Castlevania. Those, as expected, are still OK. But I'm not buying any more CC games unless they can get over $20 in credit. I simply don't need to pour any more cash into GR credit unless the margins are irresistable :D.

Aolat - you want to know why I'm near this BB for 3 weeks? If you must know, it is because of an extensive (and very NON-cheapass) veterinary treatment for my cat. I have about an hour to wait during the procedure, and this BB and a Best Buy are right nearby. I might as well take some advantage of the situation and use those to the best of my abilities. Unfortunately the Best Buy doesn't have tons of things to pick up with the $5 off coupon or I'd exploit the hell out of it :D. And I can't trade TOO much at this BB or it will look odd. But maybe I can hit each store once a week. That takes care of 2 of the 5 days each week. I'll eat lunch the other 3 days.

Let's steer this slightly back on topic guys.

Trade-in Value (before extra $5):

Battalion Wars (GC) - $19
Tiger Woods PGA Tour (GBA) - $2.50
Disney's PK Out Of The Shadows (GC) - $4.50
Alias (Xbox) - $0.25

Wow, that's a nice value on Battalion Wars, almost what I paid for it a few months ago. But I'm keeping it.

Hmm... I thought the sale prices changed on Monday... if it happens over the weekend, I might have to avoid it, since I don't think I'll be going to trade anything today.

I traded in (2) PS2 Driver: PL's today...still $16 and eligible for $5 bonus.

I went yesterday to trade some games and buy some stuff. Here are the trade prices with $5 bonus

Super Mario Adv GBA $9.50
Snood 2 On Vacation DS $9.50
Total Overdose PS2 $17.00

Also Vietcong Xbox and Playboy PS2 did not come up as listed. They came up at $19.99 & $9.99. This Gamerush is pretty good with keeping up with their prices so my question is has anybody bought Playboy for $5.00 and for what system?????

Eau did you still need the MK Deception Premium? I picked one up, but I know you had other people looking. If he doesn't need it anyone want to claim it...

Quick off topic question for everyone who moved credit to eb/gamestop. Which store do you prefer having the credit at? Do they still use those paper slips or try the bullshit asking you to use the credit at a single store?

But maybe I can hit each store once a week. That takes care of 2 of the 5 days each week. I'll eat lunch the other 3 days.
Stupid cats... :p

Anyways, I just got back from Best Buy with 2 copies of Total Overdose (PS2) for $5 each after I used 2 coupons, and I went down the road to a CC and got a copy of Driver: PL (PS2) for $8.96... now that I think about it, I probably should've tried to PM the $5 off coupon at CC. I just thought of this now. :bomb: DAMNIT!

Anyways, $20.08 after all taxes into $55 isn't anything to be angry about. But I could've saved $5! And then I would've gotten 2 copies of Driver, instead of 2 Total Overdoses, and then gotten an extra $16 in credit, and saved a dollar! I better stop thinking about it or I'll have an aneurysm.

Edit: I just called CC to see if they would have and the girl said: "Yeah, that would be no problem."

 :bomb:  :bomb:
Quick off topic question for everyone who moved credit to eb/gamestop. Which store do you prefer having the credit at? Do they still use those paper slips or try the bullshit asking you to use the credit at a single store?
Definitely EB, since, as Roufuss has stated many many times, it's a hell of a lot easier to spend money there than GR. Aside from getting preorders on time or getting them period, I have a lot easier time getting a game cheap at EB than GR with their random and incoherent price drops.

I hope I can still spend a good chunk of my GR credit on DS games, but the problem is I never know which ones they will get or when.

GameStop uses the receipt slips for credit, but I have all $500 in EB credit on my Edge card or tied up in preorders.

I agree with Botticus - definitely EB. I haven't step foot in a GS in a year. The Edge card (whether you purchase the sticker or not - and you definitely should if you plan on trading any significant amount) acts just like the BB Value card - very convenient.

I hear you on the DS games Botticus. I would add PSP to that for me (have VP Lenneth preordered at GR, hope to add Loco Roco to that soon). They are a bit more reliable in getting PSP games, though I had to resort to EB for PopoloCrois, despite my GR preorder. I just wish I knew in advance what they would get (yes, I know, don't we all) so I could only preorder stuff at EB (getting the 10% bump) that I can't get at GR. As it is, I have plenty preordered at EB that GR will probably get - then I'll have to decide if I want to cancel the EB preorders. Probably what you can do without too much hassle is cancel them as long as you switch immediately to another. They probably won't mind doing that a few times. Maybe some of the better Wii titles will be available by the time some of these games come out. Since I have so many preorders at EB I think my next set of trades will just be without the 10% preorder bump. I HATE missing out on any potential credit, but I'm just saving myself the hassle later (assuming GR gets stuff in).

And this is for you AoLat: :fridge:

My cat is the same age as you, so I value your opinion about as much as her's :D.

That's basically what I feel like right now. I could've gotten an extra $16 in credit, and saved a dollar!

And your cat is old! o_O

Don't feel too bad... I tried to use the BB coupon, and when she called her manager, the verdict was "If Best Buy is selling it for the same price (8.96) that we are, we can take it. :whistle2:s

Haha, that's weird. And it makes me feel better. :D

I've got $134.07 in credit, and $70 of that is going towards Prey: LCE, and then the rest, and my old DS is going towards a DS Lite. I'm pumped, :D.

Traded in:

Combat Elite (PS2): $16
Driver: PL (PS2): $16
Chicken Little (XB): $19
Giant Enemy Crab: The Prequel (PS2): $9.50

After bonuses: $80.50

Bought another group of 9 clearance games to push credit over to EB like I said I wasn't going to anymore, but they had a huge table laid out with all the clearance games this time, retagged with correct prices even  so I had to.
Eau did you still need the MK Deception Premium? I picked one up, but I know you had other people looking. If he doesn't need it anyone want to claim it...
PM sent :bouncy:
Well, there's sort of three tiers of games you can use, all of which are $5 or under (there are others like Baten Kaitos and Bloodrayne 2 which are OK, but since my GR didn't really have any of those I'm skipping them).

All games cost $5 at GR unless otherwise noted:

Tier 1 (trade at or more than they cost):
PS2 Def Jam Fight for NY: $7
PS2 Mega Man Anniversary: $8
PS2 Punisher: $5
PS2 Silent Hill 4: $9
PS2 The Sims ($3.75): $4
PS2 Tenchu: $6
Xbox Silent Hill 4: $7
GC Metroid Prime 2: $6
GC Scooby Doo Unmasked: $6

Tier 2 (trade for just under what they cost):
PS2 Devil May Cry 2: $4
PS2 Midway Arcade Treasures 2: $4
PS2 MGS3: $3
PS2 Star Wars Starfighter ($3.75): $2.50
Xbox Clone Wars: $3
Xbox Midway Arcade Treasures 2: $3
Xbox Simpsons Road Rage: $3
DS Mr Driller: $3
DS Rayman: $4
DS Zoo Keeper: $3
GC Goldeneye: $4

Tier 3 (cost less than $5, trade for $1-$2 before bonus):
A ton, like Brute Force, Test Drive, Midnight Club, MDK 2, Psi-Ops, etc...

And that's just what I know about. There are probably lots of others in the Tier 1 category that my GR didn't have (I actually had a pretty crappy selection from the beginning compared to most of you).

I'm pretty much reduced to things like DMC 2 (which like I said seems to be available at lots of regular BB's) and the Tier 3 junk like Test Drive, Midnight Club, etc.
how much do you think these prices changed i want to buy these games tomorrow, and trade them in tomorrow, is it possible they changed?
Is this only in the USA? Best buy in Canada had nothing!!
Good job, now try a Blockbuster. Or just try reading the thread, even.

These wouldn't change much since their MSRP won't be moving around much.. maybe a buck up or down.

I forgot that Scooby Doo for GC got that much, or I would have snagged one of the two copies at GR. Ah well... I'll probably be back next week sometime.

You have to go up to the manager on duty at best buy and ask about the cag secret sale.

Or try going to a freakin blockbuster...

Traded in:

Driver: PL (PS2) -$21 after bonus
2x Total Overdose (PS2) - $17 after bonus

$55 total. $134.07 in credit. :D

Okay, I tried buying three sealed PS1 games today and they all rang up $1.99 each. The last one I bought rang up 50 cents...so I guess some games are 50 cents and some are still $1.99? Bah. All used PS1 games are still $1.99...I wonder if those will drop any further.
