System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

Thanks OP, I didn't think Shadow Hearts: FTNW would get a price drop.
I was shocked, so I went to get it at my local GR right after school :)
 
I went to another GR today and picked up Mario Party 6 used for $12.50... It had a sticker of $16.99... Just letting you know...
 
Got a call today from one of the employees at my GameRush, after I had left a message at the regional office regarding my Zelda preorder. Explained the situation again, she's going to talk to their computer support people, which should be interesting, and get back to me.
 
So are they using the blue dots again?

If you find a game with the old price sticker on it and you have them scan it, will the new price show automatically, or do they have to complete the transaction first???

Thanks for the update I picked up quite a few today. Rumble Roses XX, Far Cry, Syphon Filter, Daxter, Hot Shots, Viewtiful Joe, and Gradius. Basically burned some of the credit I had set aside for a Wii since I already preordered through Amazon.
 
I saw two more games not on the list in store today:

Anyone know if Tokobot (PSP), PopoloCrisis (PSP), or Street Fighter Alpha 3 Max (PSP) dropped at all?
 
Today I saw an Xbox memory card (Used for $9.99) at GR, had them open up the thing so I could see if it was 1st party or what. I still couldn't tell, since I've never seen one out of the original box before. In the original packaging they look pretty big, but this one looked sorta slim compared to what I remember. It had no stickers on the front (might've had 2 places for them, not sure). The back said Microsoft, made in blah blah (can't remember), but it was a white sticker. Could've been grey.

I'm looking at the back of my 1st party controller right now and was wondering does the memory card have the same markings as the controller? Like same colored stickers and a sticker that has a circle with an arrow through it. Or just post a pic? :) Thanks for any info.
 
Thanks Op. I picked up Daxter for 14.99 (Used) and Hot Shots Golf for 6.99 (Used). I also picked up Viewtifu Joe 1 for GC for 9.99 but I think Ill return that.

These are just price drops, so it will automatically ring up at the prices in the OP. If the employees search for these games in the computer, those are the prices that will come up.

Has anybody checked the price of Gun for the 360? I totally forgot about it when I was there.

By the way Shipwreck, thanks for the EXCELLENT thread update. You really fucked up my wallet. I got just about 1 of everything I wanted (11 games), and I only had $15 trade-in credit left. But still, for what i got, it was well worth it.
 
Don't see anything I can't live without or don't already have this time around. I may grab a couple $10 PSP games just for trade bait. Sucks that I just spent $13-14 on a use Hot Shot Golf for PSP and haven't even played it yet. Could have got one for half that price. I bought most of the other PSP games on the list for more as well and haven't even opened any of them yet.

I hate my GR they never get any new used games, people just don't trade them in there. Of course, at EB, where they get less money, they have mountains of used games, at way too high prices.
 
So it looks like some people are finding everything, and some nearly nothing... All of which makes trading not work out so well :rofl:.

Well, anyway, I'm still looking for Ape Escape 3, Shadow Hearts FtNW, and Gradius Collection... Can trade Metal Gear Acid 2, Super Princess Peach, Sonic Rush, Syphon Filter (PSP), Kingdom of Paradise, Zelda Four Swords, (maybe Burnout for 360, not sure) and probably a ton of others (like just about any $20 PS2/Xbox game GR is likely to have in exchange for Shadow Hearts).
 
tons of shadow hearts FTNW to the GR i go to picked one up they still had like 4 behind the counter and also picked up viewtiful joe and trapt along the way
 
Yeah, I noticed at my one GameRush they did NOT mark any of the 360 games down, but the PSP ones were. I did NOT get College Hoops, as it was marked $30 and I did not want to deal with the employee there.
 
Since these are actual price drops and not clearance items, do we then think that the used price should really drop next week?

That might mean we could snag some of the $10 items for like $6.99 used and the $20 ones for $14.99.
 
I'm still contemplating on whether to get Shadow Hearts FTNW. I've got a huge backlog of games to play. CAG has made spoiled me to the point I'm rotten. I've already got the other two in the series.
 
Picked up Burnout for the 360. Can't beat 19.99.

Words of advice - if you don't see what you want ask someone. They did not have any Burnouts on display. And Trapt was on a display at the other end of the store.

Wow. I really don't have a lot of 360 and PSP titles to offer, and this would be a great way to get some inventory diversification. Shame I used up all of my credit, guess its time to study the Wiki

I rented a 360 game, and the but it now price was still $59.99 on a newer release. (although, I used a FREE rental coupon)

I have one handy, but can't get a picture at the moment. It should be white with a silver face (the edge that faces you when inserted). The top has the Microsoft logo and XBOX 360 etched into the plastic. The bottom has a bunch of industry symbols, followed by:

Xbox 360 MEMORY UNIT
MICROSOFT CORPORATION
For Use With Xbox 360
Made in China

Then there is a bar code and serial number, and a holographic sticker with Microsoft and XBOX repeating - similar to what is on every other accessory (there is one on my wireless controller under the battery pack, and one on the rechargable battery itself).

The GameRushes in my area stopped giving credit for the rental against the buy price. Also, I was told that the purchase price was the used price, but only if there was a used copy of the game for sale in the store. (Otherwise, the sell price is full retail.)
 
Got 3 PSP games and Far Cry.

Also found a used Silent Hill 3 for 9.99, but when I bought it and looked inside the game wasn't there. Luckily I checked before I left so I got to exchange for another game, but they didn't have any more SH3's.
 
Got another call from my GameRush. Apparently if I bring my receipt for my Zelda preorder in, they'll take care of it. Yay. Which better mean a $50 credit so I can reorder it, instead of a $30 credit like I have a feeling they'll try to give me (due to the preorder deal).
 
Stopped back by today and grabbed Burnout & Full Auto. Still have about $200 in credit left after blowing $180 on the lastest round of price drops...
 
I may have to stop AGAIN today....I really want to switch my Halo 3 pre-order and get NBA 2K7, but I'm afraid they'll only give me $30...and I think my one girl quit, as I have not seen here there in a while.
 
I stopped by Blockbuster to take a movie back and get a new one. All the PSP games except for a few had the new, lower price tags on them. I saw a couple that haven't made the list yet, like Neopets used for $10. Can't remember the rest off the top of my head but I'm sure others will report them.
 
Picked up Burnout Revenge, Full Auto and Far Cry Predator all for the 360 with my built up credit. It is always good to get clearance games at Blockbuster using credit built up from trading in games I bought for usually half the price I traded them for. There was still a bunout revenge left at the Westchester, Los Angeles gamerush, didn't see anymore Far Cry's or Full Auto's.

Except Green Bull was asking about a regular xbox memory card, not a 360. To answer his question, it sounds like what he was looking at was a first party (microsoft) xbox memory card.


Someone mentioned picking up College Hoops and NHL (360) for $10 each, playing them, then trading them to get back his original $10 each in credit. Problem with this is, the sports titles get you zilch for trade in credit, after a couple months. Just an FYI.



I picked up Far Cry Predator this afternoon and my bro picked up Ridge Racer 6, both for $20. Nice. So shipwreck, you may want to add Ridge Racer to the 360 price drop list.



What was comical was that I went over to the kids working at the counter with the display box for FCIPreditor to ask what the price was (it was stickered at 59.99) and if they had any instock. The kid (who according to his name tag, is Chris, Manager) looks at the sticker and says $59.99 and is about to walk away from the computer towards the drawers to check the stock.

Before he takes a step, I say, "No. Y'all had a bunch of price drops, this should be either $20 or $30 I forget which. Would you confirm which for me?" He glances at the other kid working, with a sort of "yeah right" look and humors me by checking the computer. "Holy -----, it is $20!" me: "Great, and you have one in stock?"

As I'm checking out, I told him that if he plays sports games on the 360, that College Hoops and NHL dropped to $10 so they would be worth picking up. He looks at me and asks how I know about the price drops. I smiled and told him not to worry about that.

In the car, Jaeli (my bro) said I had scared him... he was behind me in line, and while I was getting my keys from my purse and opening my diet coke, the manager-kid was eyeing me warily.

Which is good, the employees at that particular BBGR are such a group of slackers, it's amazing. They hardly ever condescend to notice that a customer is standing there waiting for help, they're too busy gossiping back and forth. Hopefully now at least Chris will think there's some sort of higher-up who is watching that store.

Or maybe not. Jaeli chuckled and said I should have answered, "I'm from corporate" and just not specify which corporate.

Anyway. I've not been able to find any more Gradius collections since Monday when I idiotically left them all on the shelves. But I have picked up a PSP copy of Viewtiful Joe and a PSP copy of Y's. If anyone is interested, lemme know. If not, I'll ebay Ys and return Joe.

I had them check both Gun and Tony Hawk for 360. Both still $40. I want these games to hit $20. I can't understand why TH hasn't hit it already. Based on what I've seen traded in and on XBL, nobody bought the game. Makes no sense to keep it so high.

Also, I've looked for Gradius Collection at all the local BB/GR's and nobody has it. It was the only thing I wanted from the drops.

Ah. Oops. :oops: I keep forgetting there are regular Xbox memory cards, since I've never actually used the one I own. But, it's the Live beta one, so I can't help in this case.

In any case, I found just about everything I wanted from the price drops in two stores. My credit is getting pretty low - I'm below the $50 mark for the first time since I picked up my 360.

I just tried to buy Far Cry 360 and Burnout 360. Both came up as $39.99 each.

Has this happened to anyone else? Or do they need to hit total before the price drop kicks in?

UPDATE

The games were new, sealed, stickered, etc. Official Gamerush store. Shiny happy people holding hands.

I went to 2 other GRs in the Los Angeles area (Venice, Westchester) and was able to score Far Cry 360, Burnout 360 and Full Auto 360 at $19.99 each as expected.

I am still perplexed why the first GR I visited (National), which I might add is still running the + $5.00 a game trade promotion, has the wrong prices. They have 4 Far Crys, 1 Full Auto and 1 Burnout Revenge sitting there as of tonight for the adventurous / curious out there.

If anyone checks on a price cut for Condemned for the XBOX 360 please post.

With price drops there is no need to hit total. They games should ring up the price listed in the first post. Are there any GR franchises? Only reason I can think of why the prices would be different...
 
will these prices ring up on all products? My gamerush it will take them weeks to put the new prices on so if I take it to the register will it ring up?

That's bizarre.

I realize this is a stoopid question, but we might as well cover the obvious questions first. So... you did hand the clerk a NEW and not a USED copy of Far Cry Instincts Preditor and Burnout Revenge, correct? Because the used price of FCIP was around 35 or 40 IIRC, and Burnout Revenge used might also be a higher price item than their New price. And you were at a Blockbuster Game Rush and not just a Blockbbuster? (I don't believe that regular BBs even carry new games, but I could be 100% wrong there.)

Other than that, I haven't a clue how those could have rung up at incorrect prices, as the price that should come up when the clerk scans the game should be 19.99.

Other than cheezy's mystery problem, yes they should ring up.

Just as I pointed out in my earlier post recounting a story, a lot of clerks and even some managers aren't even aware that prices have changed and many stores haven't re-stickered their inventory to reflect the price drop. That doesn't matter. The games should ring up at their new sale price.
