System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

Older News:

Random Tip
FIFA 2007 for the Xbox 360 is currently listed at $40 new ($60 everywhere else). If you pre-order it and pay for it in full now, you should be able to pick it up when it releases and save yourself $20.

I couldn't think of any other place to put this and didn't want to start a new thread.
Is there a map or a list of states/cities that have Gamerush's in them? The website only has the locator by zipcode.
I'm driving back to VA from NE for the holidays and I figured I can hit one up and get some good trades on the ride.
Thanks
I'm going to check tomorrow to see if they got any systems in....I have to return a few things anyways.
Are you thinking they will get the Wii in? And if you have a chance ask about PS3. I know they get that sort of news Monday night.

I doubt they will get any systems (at least my store, but I will inquire about them). IT's always worth hoping. I may just break down and get a 360 with all my credit (if they even have those). Could put on EBAY and make some cash I suppose.

Anyone's gamerush get in Viva Pinata to buy for 360 yet? I have 2 locally and neither have it and don't know when they will.

I called my GR and they didn't get Vegas in. "Hopefully tomorrow". In GR speak that means Friday, so I stopped by TRU and picked up a copy. Guess I'll return my GR copy there this weekend.

Picked up FFIII and Yoshi's Island today. They had no Wii accessories, much like the rest of the world. Also picked up CoD3 for rent.

FFIII was nicely $34.99 for those curious.

One good point for GR, is that although they got both games late, they got 3-4 copies of each. I always like to see that. I just wish they had gotten more of the Wii games (so far just 1 copy each of 4 games).

I noticed that FF III seemed to be inflated (to $39.99) at other places besides just EB/GS this time - I think even Target? That makes a GR purchase an even better deal on that one. Now, when I'll get around to playing either of those DS games, who knows. I'm off to play Rayman now

Just picked up my Wii from Gamerush (Altamonte Springs, FL) - hoorah! They got 15 in, and they went by their earlier call list surprisingly (I was #2 on the list). Thank the heavens, I can finally use my GR credit.

No accessories though - just the console and most of the games (picked up Monkey Ball and Rayman).

To be confirmed: the sales person mentioned that they will be getting PS3s too sometime before Xmas. I'm #1 on their list for PS3, but I'm not holding much hope of this actually happening.

Well, I stopped by my GameRush and they said they are getting NO systems. They said a few other stores in the area will though...just not my main one. Apparently they are not BIG sellers of systems. I'm going to check one more on my way home today at a different GR. Now I'm debating if I want to keep a Wii or just sell it if I get one. Credit to burn.

I was told to call on Tuesday night because they would get the Wii in on Wednesday. I'm on 4 GR call lists for the Wii by the way. I called last night and every store said they got them in yesterday and are already sold out. Of course there was no call to let me know.:applause: Thanks, GR, thanks.

Picked up a Wii, extra wii-mote, nunchuck, and Trauma Center today. I hadn't even planned on buying one, but as soon as I walked into the store the employee said "Hey, we got Wii's in yesterday and I held the last one for you". I could hardly pass that up, although I might be selling this to my friend since he is actively looking for one.

Both the employee and I were really surprised that they got Trauma Center since it is published by Atlus. Hopefully this means that they'll get more Atlus titles in the future. Unfortunately, he said that they had not received any copies of Zelda yet.

I think they had just received the accessories today and they had Wii-Motes, Nunchucks, and Classic Controllers. They did not have any component cables or any other accessories.

Oh, and Metal Gear Acid for PSP is $10 new now. I can't remember if that one has been mentioned yet.

I was called last night saying they finally got a few Wii's in stock. They also were following the call list, and would've sold it to me first.

Crap, guess I need to call and possibly go back over there to snag accessories.

And GameRush (but not Blockbuster) had Trauma Center for rent when I was there yesterday.

Lucky bastard. I just called my GR - "no Wii Stuff". They didn't even have the Wiimotes. Nunchucks, and Classic Controllers on ORDER (nor Rayman). I'd really like to pick those up at least so I can get my EB credit back for them (and for the classic controller I actually paid real cash money at a regular store ;)). My store sucks.

Well, the GameRush by my work said they got FOUR Wii's in yesterday and they sold out in 4 hours...I will check back. I may get one to sell, or maybe even keep for CLASSIC games, that could be interesting.

I also say the XBOX 360 HD-DVD at this one. Puzzling...but nice.

I will keep checking next week while at work (maybe even Friday since I'm picking up my new car over there then)

At $250, especially in GR credit, it is definitely worth getting a Wii for yourself. It's almost worth it for Wii Sports alone! Keep one, anyway! I wish i could have used my GR credit to get it - I had to use my more valuable EB credit. At least I was able to take full advantage of that "transfer" period a few months back (GR clearance -> EB trade-in deal). My GR still has the $5 bonus, actually, but I haven't traded there in over a month. I have no idea where to get fodder (for once ;)).

Ok, maybe I can get lucky and get two....we'll see what they get it soon. I'm tempted to get a Wii, but not THAT tempted. I would use it on my 26" LCD (the 360 gets the 55"). This would just be something to screw around with if my wife wants the main TV. I could probably sell it for $300+ still though....IF I get one.
I will not cry if I don't ;)
Damn, was about to come in here and rag on you 'cause I picked up a MGA 2 (assuming that's what you meant) and didn't notice till I was out of the store that it came up $14.99 - this was AFTER I asked the clerk to verify it had dropped to $9.99 and she told me yes. Apparently, she was looking at the used price . Anyway, I see now that you must have meant the first one, which is still marked $19.99 at my store. Maybe I'll snag that next time I'm in.

Also, please change the title to "Get your Wii on - YMMV, select locations only" ;). They haven't gotten any at my store and have no idea if/when any will come in. Meanwhile the GC nearby apparently got many of them (all gone when I checked though). I popped into Fry's and saw the best selection of games I've seen anywhere - things like Cars that I haven't seen anywhere. Only Target had Zelda though - lots of them. Why the hell can't GR get THAT in, at least??

Got a Wiimote and Nunchuk at mine, didn't bother asking about the systems, I was just happy they got the controllers. Also saw a 360 Wireless Headset.

When I inquired about it, they said they have no idea when they get their shipments in.

They said the same thing at Target. The best thing to do is to just call everyday. Kind of a drag (I'd rather just check on here) but that's just the way it is **cue music**

I saw ANOTHER HD-DVD drive at the GameRush that supposedly will not get any PS3 or Wii's. At least they are getting something. I was tempted to buy and sell on EBAY jus tto use my credit...oh well. I'll wait for a Wii/PS3
^^I'm in the same boat as you right now.

You going to wait till the format war is over till you choose?
No, I already own a 360....I'm just deciding what to spend my credit on. The Wii I may keep or EBAY, we'll see.

Anyone see GameRush getting more Wii's / PS3 lately?

Seems like its still no dice at any of the GR near me for a wii or PS3... most of my credit is at EB games but I would like to rid myself of dealing with GR. Either a PS3 to ebay or Wii to keep for myself is the ideal solution should they ever get any in stock :(

There were a few price drops today, but nothing spectacular. Here are a couple that I remember:

Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (PSP) $19.99 New $14.99 Used
Kingdom Hearts II (PS2) $34.99 Used

I also picked up a demo disc for Rogue Galaxy which I'm guessing was supposed to go in their demo unit, but GameRush rarely puts single game demo discs in those. So if you ask nicely, maybe the GR employees will be willing to let you have this as well. They also had some lanyards for the game that had some rubber characters attached to them if that's the sort of thing you're looking for.

I just wanted to confirm that these prices are good. I got Lumines for $12.99 (it's just $9.99 pre-owned if you can score a clean one with everything), Wipeout Pure for $9.99, and Eye Toy Operation Spy for $6.99. Add to that all the deals I got a while back (Eye Toys with cameras almost for nothing, LOTR: TTA for $5, and more) and Blockbuster/GameRush is a great place to get deals! :applause:

Oh yeah, a couple other things too. I saw that Sonic Gems Collection (GC) dropped to $9.99 used (this wasn't a drop this week), which I think is a decent deal.

And a trade-in price:

Backyard Skateboarding (GBA) - $8

(Yes, I played Backyard Skateboarding and it was pretty fun. mrs. shipwreck picked it up for me when she was shopping on Black Friday for $10 at CC and I beat it in a few hours so a $2 "rental" wasn't bad.)

Uh, I wouldn't assume that ;).

I could call my wife Mrs. Io, doesn't make my last name Io.

Should I even bother calling GR today? Meh...
YOUR LAST NAME IS SHIPWRECK?!

I think that you are right, because I'm 100% sure that it is not taken from GI Joe.

OK, so I have a question that maybe others here can answer. I rented a game for the first time ever (Super Monkey Ball for Wii). $7.99 for a game rental is WAY too much for me but 1) I got a free rental from Coke Rewards. 2) I didn't want to spend $50 on this, even in GR credit (and I'm glad I didn't) and 3) We needed something else to play after Wii Sports and Rayman.

My question is do they have the same grace period as for movies? It is due Thursday, but can I keep it through the weekend and return on Monday (with no penalty of course)? The "purchase this for $49.99" date isn't until 12/7 - but I could see the "no late fees" thing only applying to movies and not games. I sure as hell don't want to pay any actual money (or even credit) towards this.

They have several Wii and PS3 games for rent at my little local Blockbuster (not a Gamerush). I believe this is the first copy of any that has been rented. They even had 2 copies of Monkey Ball. So I certainly don't feel bad holding on to it for a few extra days - no one is waiting for it .

While I basically have free rentals from the Coke Rewards thing I might get a few more after this. I might even get the Spongebob game - there's no way in hell I'd ever consider $50 on that, for sure.

In case anyone doesn't know, it is 64 points for a game rental using Coke Rewards. That is 6 1/2 12-packs. My family goes through that easily in a week - in fact I have over 700 points stored up. Unfortunately I missed the $100 Blockbuster gift cards they had for a while (800 points I think and a much better deal than the Sony Style $25 cards for 500 points). That would have been a much better use of the points as I could buy new stuff at GR with it. The game rental promo runs out repeatedly but always comes back. They also have movie rentals for 36 points - I've used several of those as well.

I always return stuff a few days late...games and movies and they have yet to charge me. I think they still honor the NO LATE FEES.

So, when does GameRush usually get new shipments? Consoles in particular.

Popped in today to trade a few more things in. The only Wii game was Tony Hawk Downhill, and she couldn't even find the 360 HD-DVD in the computer. Seemed like they had every PS3 game, though. I asked about PS3 units, she laughed and said "some time, hopefully."

Here were the credit amounts, keeping in mind that they're with the $5/game bump:

Prey 360: $27
NHL 2K7 360: $40
Blazing Angels 360: $37
Splinter Cell: Double Agent PS2: $24
Eragon PS2: $24
Medievil Resurrection PSP: $6.50
Coded Arms PSP: $8
Ape Escape: On the Loose PSP: $8

Some GR stores are still running the $5/game extra promo from last Summer. Mine is, and VL's is. A few others, perhaps - seems to be store specific and not even regional (as I don't think all the LA ones are).

If there is anyone that can pick me up a $20 Far Cry 360, please le tme know. I'd get one myself but Im going on vacation tomorrow morning for a week and don't know when I'd be able to get one. I can buy or trade.

 I'd forgotten all about that. It's an extra $5 for each game for every group of 3 games, right? I'm going to have to check a couple of my GR's, just in case.

Yes, $5 each for a minimum of 3. Also, the sale price must be $6.99 or more. A surprising number of games don't qualify now at GR due to that restriction. I just, tonight, found a Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks at Target for $3.74 - first time I've seen a Target clearance game under $5 for a long time. Now I just need to find 2 other games to go with it ;).

Violent Lee --- I work at blockbuster. Tell the chick to look it up under x360-mcs
then it should be there. If she still can't find it....then yeah...
Also we just started a 360 bundle. 500 bucks for the 360 pro, extra wireless controller, a 4.99 game rental card, and a game of your choice out of GOW, NFS:Carbon, and something else. I can't remember the third. Anyway....If anyone needs something just ask. I'll get back to you asap.
