System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

I just hit up my GR in Blue Springs, MO.

Used GBA SPs and Gamecubes were $39.99.

My store had like 6 or 7 gamecubes. If GS was still offering $50, I could make a quick fifty bucks.

Eh, seems like a bit too much work.

I didn't know about the GC's. I wonder if they dropped the new price on those as well? They might be $50 new if they followed the pricing for the GBA's ($50 new, $40 used). The phat DS's are $100 new, $80 used.

Oh, and one other funny thing - my store has 2 NEW PS1's for $24.99. WTF? I think they were just stuck in a corner in the back room for ages.
 
If anyone can track down an extra copy of eyetoy kinetic for $10 for me I would appreciate it. I can't find any around here. Thanks!

Which one in Blue Springs do you go to? North 7 HW or South 7 HW? I frequent the North 7 one, they know me by name!

Anyways, I picked up Halo 2 disc only and PDZ Collectors Edition for $20 all together. $7.99 for Halo, and PDZ was $11.99 I believe

South 7 Hwy, next to the new Ace Hardware. Funny, I used to frequent the North store, because they had a better selection. I live behind Blue Springs South High school, and so it was a bit of a drive. Over the last year or so, I have started to go to the South store, only because of one guy who works there, who's real nice, and lets me use his 30%-off discount on used games.

Nice to meet a local CAG. You still in school? I'm a senior this year at BSSHS, name is Matthew Marriott if it sounds familiar...

I used to go to the regular schools, but now I'm doing online schools. But yeah, I run around to all the BB's for deals
 
The Altamonte Sprigns BB now shows the 25% off signs.

I picked up Conker (for the new update), Mario Party 6 and Bomberman Genrations all pretty cheap.
 
Yeah, my store FINALLY put up the 25% off signage...very small on the GR counter only. Oh well, maybe I'll get some used games....nothing much I want right now though.
 
Also, the PS3 controller is $39.99 at ALL GameRush stores. I think it was reported a while back, but I can confirm it. I may pick up a second controller with credit...we'll see though.

So far this is all I have heard about the Gamecube and GBA SP drops. Can anyone else confirm? I know the New Gamecube drop is just a guess.
 
I've called every day for the last two weeks and they haven't had anything. It appears that tommorrow may be your best bet before Christmas. Call between 11 and 1 to check and see if they got any.

I picked up another GBA yesterday - still $50 new, $40 used. The Gamecubes were marked $69.99 used - but maybe they just didn't update the prices on those.

And like I said, DS phat's are $100 new, $80 used. Lites are still regular retail I would assume (though they have none at my store).
 
I called 3 gamerush and no dice on the gamecubes, though might get a SP for a Christmas gifts. I'd have no idea what to trade in as the wiki is terribly out of date though.

Okay so far I have noticed in this thread that the GBA SPs are does this include all models or just the older ones like cobalt and platinum?
Also, does anyone know if the Gameboy Micros are getting any cheaper at BB/GR?

Mine only had the Flamre Red and Onyx ones, which are the older ones. The Micros were still tagged $69.99 I think.

I updated the CAGwiki for the first time in ages. Some of those games I traded haven't changed in price since early summer, while others have (Ape Escape 3 down from $15 to $2.50, ouch).

does anyone know when gamerush is getting legend of zelda for the gamecube? its already out at every other store and when i called last week they said there getting it the 21st, but when i called yesterday they said they dont know. can anyone help me out?

i preordered it using some deal where you trade in 2 games and you pay $10 or something from almost a year ago.
 
No idea when TP for GC is coming in. The store that I ordered it at was supposed to get them last Friday but did not receive their UPS delivery that day. It was not in yesterday as well. First the preorder hassle and now this.
 
Gamerush is basically getting ignored with TP for the gamecube. Our store didn't get our order either. Its a limited release game or something and looks like Blockbuster just isn't getting there allotment on time. We aren't even showing enough on order to cover all the pre-orders we have. So looks like Gamerush is getting screwed in distribution again.

If you pre-ordered at Gamerush I would seriously think about canceling the pre-order and just buying it somewhere else.

I would check on Wednesday, its possible they would get slipped in with movie shipments, it occasionaly happens and Fridays which are the normal game shipment day.

If you are looking for a PS3 Gamerush seems to be getting them on Thursday for some odd reason.
 
went to gamerush last nite to do some trade ins. The $5 bonus only applied to games with OVER a $5 base trade in value at this particular store. I traded in 4 games, uefl portugal(soccer game), doom 3, castlevania ps2, indigo prophecy. All of them got $6+ 5 trade in bonus.

The other 18 games i brought in did not qualify for the trade in bonus =( i was a little disappointed but not really surprised. No sports games. just things like bloodrayne 2 xbx, prince of persia 1 xbox and pd orta xbxrumble roses ps2 and others. Everything was $1 or less. yuck.

Just called my store and got cut off half way through my question with a "NO WE DIDN'T". I guess desperate people are hitting them up now as much as the other places. Still pisses me off though, because I was FIRST on the damn call list ;). I really just want accessories though and was hoping they would get some at the same time.

I guess I'll have to cancel my GC Zelda preorder. I didn't want it anyway, though if it is really going to be limited...
 
Whew, got the call that more Wii's came in this morning and was able to pick up one for my nieces. Now I can relax and enjoy the holidays without having to search for another Wii.

who much would i get for canceling my preorder?

the full $50 the game is worth, or the amount of money i originaly paid because it was part of a promotion?

Do all GR's have the trade bonus going on now? Or is it select locations?
 
It's very YMMV. I'm tempted to call corporate to inquire if it's still in the system, should my local store honor it.


Just something that occured to me as I hit a BBGR on Dallas Hwy/Lost Mountain this evening... most of my GRs have about 20 copies of CoD3 360 for rent. I'm guessing the trade in value on those will drop quickly, and we may see a good price drop on used copies in the months to come.

Damn I was off today I knew I should've gone up to the GR near me and waited until the shipment arrived. I'm still debating on puling a campout at TRU this Friday for thier Wii shipment. Pinebarrens which KC GR do you usually visit? I was pissed when GR decided to do away with their preorder lists as I was near the top at 3 stores. I was also at the top of the list at Gamestop for both systems. They kept telling me they didn't have the SKU in the system to do reserves and finally I was told they weren't going to do preorderes at all (I was told this on Oct 9th one day BEFORE the first come first serve preorders were sold).
 
Did anyone preorder Elebits and actually get it? I'm still waiting for my $59.99 copy and I'm guessing at this point its not really coming.

I didn't preorder it at GR because EB had the plush bonus, and I'm glad I didn't. They got 1 copy to rent but do not have any copies on order for sale. And I doubt that my preorder would have changed that (I love how their ordering system has no connection to preorders - ie, people that have actually paid for the damn game and expect to get a copy).

At this point, I'm sure you will get the $50 back. No one remembers those preorder promos any more. And besides, if they aren't getting the game you preordered they ought to give you the $50 without question (plus something additional for the trouble!). The system, in any case, will automatically give you $50 back. It was only jackass managers that used to override this and only give people $30 back in the past (or so we've heard here anyway). One way to keep them happy is to roll it over to another preorder - say Metroid Prime 3 or Wario Ware or something. Now, who knows if they will get that :roll:, but that's what I did with another old preorder.

Gwen covered it, but VERY select locations at this point. I need to get some more trades done before they pull it. Honestly, I thought it was gone for like a month or two and forgot about it - but the signs have never come down. However, all the prices I've posted here are before the bonus, so they ought to apply anywhere.

I really wish they'd bring back a preorder deal, despite their pathetic delivery of said items. I don't mind if I'm only paying $30 for them and can roll them over to other $50 games if they don't come in.
