System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

They can't give the PS3's away at the GR I visit. They must have just got another shipment of the black DS lite's in the end of last week, since they had 3 more.
 
I picked up Outrun 2: Coast 2 Coast (PSP) for $20 new tonight
(which was cool as my local Best Buy was out of stock)

Any more price drops at Gamerush that we should be aware of?

Also, my local Gamerush had a copy of Rez used for $5! I wound up looking at the game closer & it was the Japanese version (which I already own). I wound up putting the game back after debating about keeping it (it was complete) Weird to see an import slip by but this is Gamerush that we are talking about :)

There are 2 (used) Metroid Prime Hunters First Hunt demos marked as the full Metroid Prime Hunters DS game at my GR :roll:. (So they gave someone credit for the regular game for them).

My local pawn shops do this ALL the time... I know they are giving people full value for the demo because they are charging full game price for them.

I've even seen it happen at EB / GS too.
 
I saw that the price for a new Final Fantasy XI with HDD for the PS2 is $39.99 at GameRush. This could be old news, I can't remember, but it's not a bad price. (I'm changing the thread title to reflect this as I'm tired of looking at Prey and Metroid Prime Hunters.)

A couple of trade-in prices as well:

So, no one has saw a PS3 remote I take it at GameRush?

Anyone on the inside aware of any trade-in deals anytime soon? I have a few 360 games that I want to unload.
 
I cancelled my Wii Points and Classic Controller preorders because it doesn't look like my GR will ever get any Wiis and/or accessories in. I also cancelled my Super Paper Mario preorder for GC (they haven't switched it over to the Wii yet) because it was pushing 1 year (and other reasons that I will expand upon later).

One Piece Pirate's Carnival still gets $9.50 (and seem to be available in quantity at Best Buy's for $4.99 after the coupon which expires next Weds).

I may be buying a 360 at GR soon. I'm 360-ignorant. Is there some sort of card you buy for the online access? They seemed not to have those but they did have some sort of points card (1600 points for $19.99). I assume the points card is for buying marketplace games and such while I would still need to find a gold membership card somewhere else? They had wireless adapters and HD's, but I don't think I'll need either. I really wish I could wait for a redesign but unless I want to get stuck with tons of useless credit I think I need to spend it soon.

doubledown - don't know of any impending trade deals, but it did seem from my conversations tonight that preorder deals are a thing of the past. It's just as well...

Hmm, out of the 20 or 30 Gamerush stores I frequent in the central part of this state, I've never seen a FF XI w/HDD. If they ever carried them, they must have sold a couple years ago before I started shopping regularly at Gamerush. Not that it matters, I got mine for $14 at TRU anyway.

Went to Gamerush today and they finally got a new Wii game in for the first time since launch and it was one I actually wanted, Wario Ware, so I used credit to buy it. They have pretty much every PS3 title for sale and they have every Wii title for rent, but for whatever reason they only carry 4 or 5 Wii titles for sale...all of the crappier launch titles...and they have around 5 copies each of them...so I'm sure they'll still be around this summer/fall when they go on clearance. They only got in one copy of Wario Ware from what I could tell though.

Wierd, my ONE GR store has about 4 of these FF XI w/HDD. Are they worth anything? (Edit - OK, they seem to sell for anywhere from $40 to $70 on ebay, hmmm...)

And even my GR got 2 copies of WarioWare in last week - my preorder and one for the store. They only usually get 1 copy of the other games. Man, oh man, do I wish I had 20 or 30 GR stores to go to. I honestly didn't think there were that many in existence ;).

As expected, they did not get Hotel Dusk in, but GC came through for me and even called me to let me know it was in today (but how Gamerushy of them to get it on Friday :lol:).

There's 5 or 6 Gamerush stores within 10 minutes of my house alone. There's basically a Blockbuster on every street corner and very few Blockbusters around here don't have a Gamerush in them. Blockbuster definitely dominates this area as far as video chains go...we have a few Hollywood Videos but only 2 Game Crazies left...and the only other chain I can think of in business here is Family Video. Blockbuster came in and bought all the mom and pop video chains in the state around 15 years ago, driving the rest out of business, except for the ones that specialize in porn, of course.

No, FF XI w/HDD is not worth any more than $40...that's about what it sells for on Ebay before shipping. If you find a copy at Toys R Us, it is worth picking up though.

Well, there's Blockbusters all over the place here as well, but only a microscopic percentage have GR in them ;) (1 in the entire Pacific Northwest).

I do have more GC's around but they aren't nearly as good as GR (in terms of trade-in prices and deals in any case) :cry:.

As for the FF XI, turning $40 of GR credit into $40 in cash is way better than having to spend said credit on overpriced DVD's at non-GR Blockbusters for the forseeable future. I might pick one up for a trial run ;).

You will want the 360 LIVE Kit (MSRP $70 w/headset and 200 MS points and Arcade Game)

OR

You can buy just a XBOX Live Gold Subscription for $50 (GOLD gives online gaming)

PLUS, the MS Points Cards are $20 for 1600 points.
 
Speaking of FF XI w/ the HDD I wonder how much it is new at EBGS? I saw one but it was still marked $99 and I didn't bother getting it scanned.

I took a quick look at the new Gamerush map earlier today. The buy 2 get 1 free deal on used games is coming back on Tuesday, 1/30. The rent 2 for $12 deal (for 360, PS3, and Wii titles) ends on that day. The rent 2 for $10 on last gen and portable games stays.

At least I don't work there, so my job isn't on the line ;)

I couldn't find the restrictions. There were two sections in the map for what signs are going up and what signs are going down. I saw the picture of the buy 2 get 1 free sign in the what's going up section, but I didn't see any other info.
 
remember, for those who didn't know before...(like myself), a network adapter is required for installation and operation of the ps2 hard drive.

i had to go calling all over before i found a used one at gamecrazy for about 17.00!

I traded Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter for $22 yesterday & picked up the last new copy of Burnout Revenge (X360) for $20 (its been such good trade fodder on the boards :D)

I did notice a few pricedrops while searching the racks:

Phantasy Star Universe (X360) $39.99 (this was a universal price drop)
Xenosaga III (PS2) $14.99 USED

I'm assuming since I saw Xenosaga III used for $14.99 that the new game price has dropped to $19.99 (bought it a month ago for $29.99). If someone can check any more drops (Tekken 5 DR PSP pleeease), I sure would appreciate it.
 
I may pick up a few PS2 games since I now have a PS3 (had a Ps2 back in the day...FFX was my NEWEST game I think)

Dammit I just bought 3 games from blockbuster today. Got a good deal so i guess i can't complain. Anyone know if its possible to return in store and rebuy them during sale?
 
Here's a question, how long is the return policy? I made a purchase on my account, but want to exchange it. I'm going to see if I have a receipt lying around, but I don't think I do in case it's on there.
 
I NEVER go to my local BBs to buy used games and I don't have any GRs. My question is is this deal nation wide at normal BBs too?

It usually is at BB as well, but I don't know. I saw it in the Gamerush map, so it's possible that it's only at BB's with a Gamerush.
 
i liked the 25%off much better, if i only have 1 game i want, then i get that, and am not stuck looking for half an hour to find something i actually want to complete the deal. also the selection isnt as good as your average gamestop/eb(at least at the ones i go to)

A corporate Blockbuster will have the same deals. A franchise BB may not. The selection sucks though, and it's even worse now that they're coming off the 25% off.

I asked to do it today and they said it wasn't in their system. And whats even more strange they have it on the "Comming Soon" dry erase game chart.

IT IS in the system - I preordered it a few weeks ago (and said so here ;)). They were just being incompetant. Now, I figure there is about a 5% chance my GR will actually get it in, but it's worth a shot anyway.
 
Anyone else start putting their 360/Wii/PS3/PSP USED games in a closed case? This sucks, since they are spine out and I cannot see what costs what anymore.

It's been quite awhile since I've posted here and just as long since I've traded anything at GR but I did trade yesterday so here are my trade values for these WII games: Elebits & Red Steel $30 each. I got Excite Truck and am very happy with it. It's much,much better than Red Steel. Also, my GR had a few wiimotes and nunchucks.
Does anyone know how much EB/Gamestop sells Steambot Chronicles for used?

doubledown - I just noticed they had a used Wii game locked in the case at my GR. Though it was the opposite problem - it was face out and showed the price (Tony Hawk, $44.99) but there was another behind it. Unless that was the same thing (which seems wierd) it is kind of annoying. The 360 games are still out though - not enough room in any of the cases for those.
 
Went to GR today and they were already doing the B2G1 free on used games (included all games). They had signs though that said you had to be apart of their Total Access (online rental program) to take advantage of it. Just thought I would give a heads up, so maybe someone else can confirm this at another GR.

Well, I'm stopping tomorrow to check out the sale. I may get MVP NCAA 06 for $15...what other cheap games should I look for? I just got a PS3 (well a few weeks ago) and never had anything new for the PS2 since FFX.

Any CHEAP USED 360 games to look for or cheap GOOD PSP games?
 
i havent even heard of this sale and i work there. but i dont see why you would need total access to use the sale, because the computers have no real way of telling if you have online, i think.

who knows, ill check into that.
 
I went into my GR, and they had no signs up and the 2 employees had no idea if any such sale was coming or not. It would normally start on Tuesday, right? So it could still be happening - these 2 are on the low end of the food chain. None of the regulars (who might know) were there ;). But then again, my GR is *special* so I wouldn't expect the promo to run. They do still have the $5 bonus thing going though!
 
Everyone should have total access anyway...it rocks. I abuse the hell out of it for about 50 dvd rentals a month, not to mention my 1 free Wii rental a month. Hell, it pays for itself even if you only watch a couple DVDs a week.

All my free time is either spent on CAG or playing games. I barely even watch TV any more, let alone DVDs. This is the main reason I held off on the PS3 as cheap Blu-Ray player - it is nice in theory but I'd never actually use it!

I rent one or two movies a month, so none of those plans are worth it. Besides, I've been getting all my rentals free from Coke Rewards (must remember to go get Open Season for the kids tomorrow afternoon before they all get checked out!). And before that I just used my cheap GR credit to rent the occasional movie. Anyway, if they started linking trade or used game promos to having those accounts then I'd be glad to be through with GR.

I don't think someone is "WATCHING" 50 movies a month ;)

I'm going to check out the deal today, as I have to return my total access movie today. Too bad the online service is starting to suck with HD/Blu-Ray releases.
 
I checked at my blockbuster today and they said this deal does NOT start today. Maybe its gamerush only. He did say he was expecting the B2G1 free sale to start very soon though, he guessed maybe friday. Going to be checking a few more today as recon before sale so i'll let you know what other managers say.
