System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

Older News:

Random Tip
FIFA 2007 for the Xbox 360 is currently listed at $40 new ($60 everywhere else). If you pre-order it and pay for it in full now, you should be able to pick it up when it releases and save yourself $20.
Woah easy there... I wasn't trying to slam your post or anything. You're right if you have GR credit it's better to get it there than using cash. I just wanted to let people know of the great price I got on-line. This is CAG after all and folks are always on the lookout for great deals.
or you can go here and buy a 1 GB for $10 shipped
Any one by any chance know any games to get at GR and trade them in at GS/EB and get almost the save value? I need to convert my gamerush to gamestop to pay off my preorders. Any help would be great. Also I have seen some of the old $5 brand new games like hot shots golf fore for the ps2, do those still ring up at $5 or did they up the price back? Thanks
I need to do the same, but there isn't going to be much you can find to do that with when there's no trade-in deal running at EB/GS. The Buy 2 Get 1 free at GR helps, but you'd still have to find 3 underpriced GR games that are still getting a high value to EB - not easy to do.

I think the clearance games are still priced that way. My store still has a few of the Xbox sports games tagged that way, anyway (no idea if they ring up like that though).
why does everybody want to change their credit over to EB/GS?
Probably becuase they actually HAVE games instead of a skeleton stock like most Game Rushes I've seen lately.
why does everybody want to change their credit over to EB/GS?
Yeah, I'm tired of games coming in late or not at all. I'm tired of them not having a single Wii accessory (thus I need to buy them at EB or GC, which gets regular shipments of remotes and other things). There are other reasons too...

Hi io,

I haven't visit GR for awhile... and still have Zelda (cube) reserve there.. i'm trying to get a Wii soon. How do I go about in switching my Zelda (cube) to Zelda (wii)? I totally forget about all this trading stuff at GR already hehe.. been too long..
thanx

Go in and ask - as long as they haven't lost your original Zelda preorder it should be no problem (was it over a year ago that you preordered?). Chances are they have neither, though, and won't get any more. My GR only ever got 1 copy of each (one Wii, one GC). They were both my preorders ;).

shoot.. i don't even have the receipt anymore..haha.. hopefully they still have my record..(yes.. I kinda stop raping them since last year.. school/life catch up to me hehe) well I hope they have the zelda wii though, well worst case.. they have other Wii game right?

Yeah. they ought to have something. Even my GR still has an extra copy of WarioWare Smooth Moves.

I came across a wierd trade-in issue today. Gunpey for the DS is not accepted at BB/GR. Either it didn't scan (and it is not in their system) or they specifically exclude it for some reason (they just said they "aren't accepting that game").. Very odd. It trades for $11 at Gamecrazy. Oh well, Gungriffon is still $12. I bought some Xbox Live 1600 points cards, not sure what I'm gonna do with 'em yet.

Someone was asking about the PS3 Blu-Ray remotes? I noticed that even my pathetic GR has 2 of those behind the counter with the 360 accessories (and the cards with a picture of the Wii remote on it ). Again, this points to BB/GR ineptness - why send 2 (at least) of these to a store you only ever sent 4 PS3's to? And why send NO Wii systems and accessories when they would be guaranteed to sell. And then corporate complains this store isn't making enough money! Well, no shit, Sherlock... I'm particularly bitter because I think if they had supplied this store better and done a better job of promoting it, it might stick around longer.

BB totally negelcts the game side of things. its really taken a backseat to everything else in the store. my store was the only in the whole district to get Wiis.

Yeah, I would like to flip some games to maximize trade values, but my GR has NO new releases in USED. It's getting pretty bad (although, they do have some decent 360 games)

I don't think my GR ever got any Wii consoles or accessories. They've gotten a few PS3's that they can't move and at one point had a couple PS3 controllers (they were marked $39.99 but after I finally nabbed a PS3 I went back to buy one and they were gone). I think they still have about one copy of each Wii and PS3 title in the case that they haven't sold.

I never know what my GR has in-stock. They keep the empty cases on display for 360/Ps3 games. I may pre-order a few games and use the rest of my credit. MLB 2K7 is one I want for sure.....

The PS3 controllers are now $49.99...I missed out on the $40 "deal"
KOTOR 1...by far. Endings for both lightside and darkside were awesome, KOTOR2's ending was crap. Don't forget Jade Empire, another great game.
KOTOR2 was basically an unfinished game. I remember there being petitions going at different game sites for LA to release KOTOR2 complete (with a real ending). That was just pitiful to release it as they did.

Anyway, Fable the Lost Chapters is also a good choice if you like adventure/rpg type games.

Hey there fellas

I'm interested in using my trade in credit to get the HD-Drive for the Xbox, but I've heard that there's it's in the computer weird, so if I were to call, they'd say it wasn't there. Does anyone know what it appears in the computer? I think it was in this thread (or another one just like it) but I can't seem to find it.

Thanks for any help.

The correct name is HD DVD drive, but I don't know what gamerush calls it.

Did anyone know Blockbuster opend GR stores in Mexico? I did a google search on GR and came on this
http://www.gamerush.com.mx/

What's more amazing is that they even have a Gamerush magazine
"Revista de videojuegos Gamerush especial de temporada. Encuentrala en puestos de revistas y en tiendas Blockbuster y Gamerush"

Gamerush videogame magazine season special. Find it in newstands and Blockbuster and Gamerush stores.

Seriously...what the fuck? Seems it's doing better down there than here.

That is pretty interesting. Hey, PS3's are only $12,999.00 down there!. They also put trade values on the web site - wish GR did that here.

Actually, what is interesting is that they explicitly advertize "Retro" gaming and mention not ony the PS1, N64, and SNES, but the Atari 2600 and Intellivision as well . We all know US Gamerush has eliminated the PS2/N64 stuff, but did they ever carry Atari 2600?

It does look like it is more robust down there than here. Maybe that's where they'll send all the games from my store.

I was hoping when they closed the GR closest to me they would have some sort of moving sale so they wouldn't have to ship off all that merchandise. No go, the associates said whatever was left would be distributed among the remaining stores...

I actually saw a few gamerushes in Italy (Florence) this summer...I think EBgames/Gamestop doesn't have as much of a stronghold in europe.
Samurai Champloo-$19
Yeah, I actually managed to uncover one of those last week at a TRU where I checked for it many times before. I traded it to GC where I can actually buy things like Wii remotes, Wii Points cards, and Wii games. Got a little less ($19.xx vs $24 from GR) but it is so much more worth it.

anyone know where in los angeles and orange county which gamerushes give you the $5 bonus boosts on trades on each game for 3 game?

thanx:D

can I put the play asia logo in my signature so my buddy can sign up if I do not have a website?

Does CAG allow this?

That has nothing to do with this topic.

No, you can not.

Over the weekend I found Stembot Chronicles and Streetfighter ex2 for Ps2 NEW with used stickers on them. I got the actual 'used' game for free. I think im going to ditch Steambot However...

So, apparently, they have 6 premium 360's at my GR. I was finally going to bite the bullet and get one. But I just found out about the ones from Nov 2006 and later (possibly) having the new quiet DVD drives. So I asked them to check the manufactured dates on their stock. They had nothing newer than July 2006, and a few were even from Dec 2005! (All had the old packaging with PD0, Kameo, etc on the back as opposed to the newer ones with GoW, etc).

I was quite disappointed in that, so now I'm not sure what to do. I may buy one and sell it and then buy the Costco bundle instead, but that's not very efficient (they go for $340 or so on eBay right now).

I really need someone (Ship?) to keep on top of the 360 game price drops for the next month (as a favor ;)). There's several games I want to get there but I'd rather wait as long as possible before getting them in case there are price drops.

For example, is Battle For Middle Earth any less than $59.99 there now? It seems to be $29.99 everywhere else. Also, what about Enchanted Arms? (Fry's has both for $30). I'll check on those two next time I'm in but it is easier if someone has access to the price drop sheets as they can list everything (there may be things I haven't even considered yet!).
For example, is Battle For Middle Earth any less than $59.99 there now?
It's been $29.99 at GR fow awhile now since the EA price drop. As a matter of fact I went to pick it up during the 25% off sale. Good luck on getting a 360!

For the most part GameRush is right on par with other retailers on 360 game prices. I don't think Enchanted Arms has dropped in price there though. I'm headed that way here in a little while so I'll see if I can sweet talk a manager into letting me see the latest drops.

Thanks Shipwreck. On BfME they have a used one tagged $54.99 . And I can't see the pricing on the new one (locked up). I just figured they were behind the times. That's what I need you guys for!

As for Table Tennis - these are $29.99 at GR, still, right? I know they are $20 at Best Buy (and thus $15 with the $5 off coupon that starts in a few days). I'd pick it up at GR if it was $20, but $15 vs $30 means I'll just get it with cash at Best Buy.

It's $24.99 used. Battlefield 2 is also $24.99 used if you were interested in that one.
Just a quick trade-in price:

Tony Hawk's Project 8 (PS2) - $27
Wow, really? I've seen it selling for $35.

I found a nice deal today. Got Outrun 2006: Coast 2 Coast, Silent Scope Complete, and Zone of the Enders: 2nd Runner all for under $40. Also got Amplitude for $7. It seems like every other time I go to a GR/BB they never have 3 games that I'm interested in buying that are similar in price.
Oh, a few trade-in prices from today as well:

:ps2:
Dark Cloud 2 $7

:gc:
Starfox Adventures $6

:xbox:
Soul Calibur II $1

:gba:
F-Zero GP Legend $1
that is true?:D
that is true?:D
Not sure what your point is, but the reason SC II for Xbox and F-Zero for GBA are so low is that they were clearance games last summer - they sold new for less than $5 each, so they lowered the trade-ins to next-to-nothing. The used sale prices are still "normal" though so the trade-ins seem particulatly low. It seems like if they were really on top of things they would raise those trade-ins back to normal for what they sell them for used (since 99% of the clearance games have been sold by now). But then again, this is GR.

I could have sworn Dark Cloud 2 was clearanced along with the first game, thought that trade-in would be $1. Reminds me I need to check the trade-in on a bunch of games when I go get FFVI this weekend (hopefully).

Speaking of which, if anyone goes over there today, let me know if FFVI has arrived.

Those trade-in prices were from back in September, so they may have changed by now.

Here's some more recent trade-in prices (as in yesterday):

Samurai Warriors: State of War (PSP) $15
Arc The Lad: End of Darkness (PS2) $9.50
Trapt (PS2) $2.50

I also noticed a new copy of Kingdom Hearts II with a $19.99 price tag on it. I can't remember if this is old news or not as someone has not done a very good job updating the OP recently.

Don't you love it when a noob decides to quote a post from five months ago just to add nothing to the discussion?

That answers that question... no FFVI today. I'm so sure it will be in Monday as he says. They get so many new game shipments on Monday. Guess I'll be borrowing it from CC on the way home today.

What about Lunar Knights or Diddy Kong Racing? I was kind of counting on those being in today, but now I'm not hopeful. Recently they've gotten a few things on the Saturday after release too, so I guess tomorrow is a possibility.

Crazy that they only give that little for Trapt. It's a tough game to find, and the only place I've seen it new was Fry's for the full $50. In fact, a peek at PriceGrabber shows its lowest new price being $45 @ Amazon.

Well, GR sells it for $15 new and Toys R Us sells it for $10.50. I knew it was going to be a low trade value, so I'll see if I can't get rid of it somewhere else.

OK, back from GR so I can answer my own question. They got multiple copies of Diddy Kong Racing, but no Lunar Knights in yet. Also, I completely forgot about the new Ratchet & Clank for PSP. It comes out the 16th (for GR)! But get this, they didn't have a single copy on order! I preordered it anyway, on the off chance... I'm surprised by that as I thought that was a DS-exclusive deal (to not even have one copy on order ).

If no one's mentioned this yet, Shipwreck, though I'm not sure if this is YMMV or universal. A great game for XBox and one I personally bought for $20+:

Fable(NEW)$4.99

My local store(Meridian Ave. in West Scranton, PA for any local CAGs) also has(USED):

PS2-Xenosaga III: I believe it was UNDER $20
PS2-Xenosaga II: $14.99
Xbox-Galleon(copy I traded in new, unopened for $15ish in cred and is still sealed)$19.99
PS2-Graffiti Kingdom(DISC ONLY) $9.99

They also have a sparse last gen NEW game section left, mostly junk left now though.

Just a heads up for anyone who may want to check out Fable and may want XS 3 but not want to pay the non-CAG non-cheapass price they want at retail.

Was Fable one of the clearance games from last summer? At that price it sounds like it is. I don't believe my store even had it back THEN, let alone now . The chances of finding any of the old clearance games besides some of the old sports titles will be very low at any particular GR store. I wonder, though, if regular Blockbusters might carry Fable new? I'm looking to build up my Xbox collection with the best of the best (or at least very cheap games when I find them) in case I get a 360. Fable is both (I hear) a good game, and exceptionally cheap, apparently, at GR.

And Xenosaga III is $29.99 new at GR, and, I think, $19.99 used. I had the new price checked just a few days ago in fact. But I'm noticing it is $29.99 a lot of places, so this isn't such a remarkable price (I'm waiting on $20 new).

Yes, Fable was a clearance game (the original version, not the Lost Chapters). And you are correct on Xenosaga III being $29.99 new and $19.99 used. And like you said, I'm waiting on it to hit $20 new as nobody seems to buy RPG's at most of the GameRushes around here.
