Just looking for trade-in prices? Well, check out what's been reported:
GameRush Trade-In Prices Wiki
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

50% Off Sale

Edit: It looks as though more games are being added to the 50% off list on 3/25/07. Here's what jaybsooner is reporting:
Hey guys, just a head's up. Went to my local Gamerush today (03/24/07), noticed they had put a ton of the NEW games they had for sale on a side counter. The manager told me they were being added to the 50% off sale. These were new additions to the previous sale. He let me look at the list he had for his store of the pulled games. PS2, XBOX, PSP, Gamecube, and 360 were on the list, the majority of the list (about half) was original XBOX, with about 20% PS2, rest a mix of 360, Gamecube, and PSP.

Can't recite the list verbatim, but you may want to check with your local game rush, I believe the actual list may vary from store to store, based what they have in inventory.

If you want, post what titles you are interested in and I will do my best to recall if it was included on the list, but I would suggest going to you local Gamerush and scout it out today!!
The prices will be listed on the price drop reports as 1 cent drops making the game prices end in .98. The 50% will be automatically deducted when the employee hits the Total button. It's very unlikely that there is any signage or changes in prices actually displayed at the stores yet.

Okay, details are still rolling in and we don't have a full list yet, but we're getting there.

FAQ (Read before you ask a question.)

Q: Are used games included?
A: No, this is only for new games.

Q: Is this sale going on at normal Blockbusters?
A: Yes, as long as it is not a franchise Blockbuster. Most Blockbusters are not franchise locations. Call your local store and ask if they are a corporate or a franchise store if you are unsure or check a past receipt to see if it says "Blockbuster Franchisee".

Q: The games are scanning at full price, is this sale for real?
A: You won't get the discount until the employee hits "Total" on the register.

Q: Do Blockbuster gift cards work at Gamerush?
A: Yes.

Q: Is this going on nationwide?
A: Yes, but see details on franchise locations above.

Q: My blockbuster employees say they don't know anything about the sale, is this sale real or happening in my area?
A: It's a good thing that they don't know and see above franchise locations information.

Q: If I ask something that is clearly laid out here in the OP, will shipwreck make fun of me?
A: Probably.

(All prices are after the 50% off discount.)
As far as I was told, it is on new games only, and is 50% off the marked price. The list was also laying on the back counter and I perused it. The list of games are for the PS2, GameCube, Xbox, PSP, and Xbox360. There are no DS games.

I wrote down the Xbox360 games since I thought those would be the most interesting. There were not many PSP games and the ones on the list were not very exciting. So without further ado, the Entire Xbox360 50% Off GameRush Listing:

System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

Random Tip
FIFA 2007 for the Xbox 360 is currently listed at $40 new ($60 everywhere else). If you pre-order it and pay for it in full now, you should be able to pick it up when it releases and save yourself $20.

Reported Trade-In Prices

Trade-In Price Wiki
Yeah, that should be standard operating procedure for CAGs not only at GR but at any chain.
No doubt. I just hope that GR stays open long enough. Like you, I don't want to spend my credit on not-so-cheap BBV DVDs.
jdawgg76, I got my $75 in Blockbuster gift cards within 2 weeks when I got them from Coke Rewards. However, I'm doubtful they'll bring that back. They seem to be trending to worse and worse values for the points (for example, DS Lites for 3250 points, Wii for 6250). Obviously the $75 in Blockbuster credit for 750 points was a WAY better deal and I jumped on it when I had the chance (I didn't have enough for the $100 gift card). Now I'm back up to 750 or so but there's nothing worth getting.

Well, I traded Gunpey and PacMan World Rally today. They are still holding strong ($12.50 and $15). The UPC of Ultimate Block Party rang up as "Playstation Game" or something stupid and they said it would be $2 or so (though for some reason they weren't sure ). Anyway, the bad news was that the 360 controller I wanted to snag was gone. They still have two Sixaxis though. That's what I get for procrastinating... :bomb:

So, if anyone wants to trade a Sixaxis for a black 360 controller (has GR gotten these?) I'd be up for that. Otherwise I'll just have to save the credit for my next trip to a GR location. I have no idea when that might be though. Hopefully I'll be going to Atlanta some time in the next 6 months. I hope GR lasts till then ;).

They said they don't carry new games any more at Blockbuster because the risk was too high (theft, mainly). It's not just my local store (which is really not a high-theft area) - she made it sound like a corporate decision (or at least district-wide). So if I don't spend it at a GR all I can spend this credit on is overpriced DVD releases (since I have all the free rentals I want from Coke Rewards).
my GR got black 360 controllers, but i think my GR is one the better stocked ones(although it still sucks)
Who ever thought we'd pine for those days? And let's not forget our fallen insiders, CoreyCubed and drfrielgood. ;).
i saw coreycubed working the other day at a gamerush competitor's business. it's a national chain...not gamecrazy....

My Gamerush STILL has the 50% off clearance table...getting pretty bare now though...mostly PSP stuff on there. PSP games don't sell worth crap around here...but DS games disappear really quick. Anyway, if your local store hasn't sent the clearance games back, they should still ring up on clearance.
And let's not forget our fallen insiders, CoreyCubed and drfrielgood.
Hahahah, thanks for the mention! I must say that I only visit the local Metro Detroit Gamerushes once every few months or so now to check if I can find any gems amongst their used game sections.

Soooo, does Gamerush still get new release games in? I'm interested in Wii Scarface that's coming out this week, I've got some credit to blow on it. Anyone think (know) they'll be getting that in?

I know its a repost, but just verified that Blitz 360 is $7.19 used at Gamecrazy, and trades in for $25.00 at Game/Blockbuster. I also talked to the rep. here(escondido, CA) who says they are clearancing PSP stock in the near future, and they already put older titles on the sale floor and pulled most of the rentals for future sales, Also, I didnt get a chance to check, but their were a couple other games that you can get from gamecrazy cheap and switch over the credit to Blockbuster/Gamerush since a lot of Gamecrazys are closing and there are people that might be building up credit there.

Our local Gamecrazy is closing down (Escondido, CA)on the 16th, an I had $50.00 left over in credit, so I bought the four copies of Blitz and Daxter used plus a couple GBa games. They flipped them to Blockbuster for $100.00 credit(had to go to two different Blockbusters to get it done), and the kicker, the 2nd store still had the B2G1 deal so I wound up getting the following PSP games, I'll add this info to the Gamerush list for trade in values.

Metal Gear Acid 2-10
lumines 2-10
Neopets-Free
Godfather-$15
Syphon Mirror-DM-$15
Daxter-Free(I couldnt find another game)Free
WIpeout-$7
Hotshot Gold-$7
Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast(XBOX)-Free

and I still have $32 in credit. Damn, thanks to the original poster.

I can super-duper double top secret confirm Blitz trades for $25 ;). I found one used copy at the first Gamecrazy I went to and got it for $7.19 with MVP. Then I went to another and their used copy was just a bit too beat up. Neither place had them marked correctly though. I'm not sure WHY I did all this as Blockbuster credit is damn near useless (to me, anyway). I'd really like to trade things THE OTHER WAY. Maybe my local Blockbuster will have another used game sale and I can find a few things to xfer back to GC later. Or I can just hold on to it for a potential trip to the magical parts of the country that have GR stores...

I'm sure it is no more than $7 or so, but does anyone know what EB gives for Blitz? There isn't even an outdated price on the Wiki.

If anyone can get me a black 360 controller (wireless, MS brand) I'd be up for a credit swap. I'm willing to go $60+ (prob. $65 or so) on it depending on how much you think you can ship it for.

Wow, GR flipping is back ;) Yeah! I may have to check out GameCrazy. I'm still looking to burn my credit...it should be easy enough as long as GR still gets new games.

ebgames gives $6 for blitz on the360, $8 for the PSP. That was my original plan when I got my copies from the closing Gamecrazy, but traded them into blockbuster. Hopefully, the Blockbuster will have a b2g1 official sale, since a couple near me have some great XBOX 360 deals.
Also, I didnt get a chance to check, but their were a couple other games that you can get from gamecrazy cheap and switch over the credit to Blockbuster/Gamerush since a lot of Gamecrazys are closing and there are people that might be building up credit there.
Did ya find out what they are yet? :)

Would Wii Ant Bully (9.99 at GC) be one of them? Last week that Tony Hawk Wii game was still getting $30 at GR, it seems GR are really slacking on updating next gen trade-in prices.

Ant Bully only gets $15 in trade-in, I bought a used one earlier today at gamecrazy for 7.99 then traded it in for $15. Not as great as the blitz deal but still decent

Thanks. I guess I'll pick up an Ant Bully since I'm already going to GC to find a Blitz or two.

Thanks, I added it to the wiki. If I still had a GR I'd do that trade as well (since my GC credit was also obtained cheaply, this would double the cheapness). However, without a GR I'm only going to do the "Blockbuster" trade-ins at Blockbuster ;). Blitz qualifies. I bought a Gunpey for $5 at Best Buy after the new GamePro coupon (really $2.50 since I used a RZ cert, but that doesn't count), took that to GC and got $9.90 for it, then spent $7.19 of that on a Blitz, then traded that for $25 at Blockbuster. So I basically turned $5 into $25 at Blockbuster (with nearly $2 left at GC). Even if I have to use that on $24 DVD's it was worth it. But $8 -> $15 via Ant Bully isn't quite worth it. I'm actually kind of relieved - means I don't have to run out again any time soon.

I really need to find a decent GameCrazy. I've never bought anything from there. I would love to build up some GR credit to blow here. Still have $120 or so.
Wow, antbully for GC trade-in $15 credit. My local BB have 2 copies left
So I am confused here. Antbully GC version fetches $15 @ GR?? The post above yours says that Antbully Wii version gets $15 in trade-in credit @ GR???

I think some people are getting confused. GC = Game Crazy. The posts above mean to say that the Wii version of Ant Bully is 9.99/7.99 used at Game Crazy, and it trades in for $15 at BB/GR

Is this the Blitz game? There were so many..I never kept track cause I dont play sports games. I could use some credit for Scarface Wii as well.

Exactly. Ant Bully for the Gamecube was $6 last time I traded in in January (it is in the Wiki). It was worth it then because I still had GR and they were still running the $5 bonus credit so $5 at Best Buy -> $11 at GR.

But now we're talking the Wii version of Ant Bully $7.99 used at Gamecrazy (if you can find it) -> $15 at GR. Blitz is much better of course ;). I won't be able to do another trade till this weekend probably - hopefully someone here will let us know if the trade-in value changes today or tomorrow.

Happy Feet (Wii) and The Grim Adventures of Bill and Mandy trade in for $30 at GR. They are each $19.99 new/$14.99(used, lower with MVP) at GC.
Is there anything worth getting at GR anymore, to give me incentive to flip? New releases showing up at all?
Well, I certainly hope that new releases continue to show up (Forza 2 did and I'm hoping that DiRT will). However, I just did the Blitz flip just to get a 1600 Microsoft Points card since there's some XBLA stuff I'm interested in. Can't go wrong paying $7.99 at GameCrazy for $20 worth of points and still have $5 of credit left.

Of course, that's if you have a 360...
Is there anything worth getting at GR anymore, to give me incentive to flip? New releases showing up at all?
They do seem to be getting the new stuff in, I was there yesterday, they had Pirates of the Caribbean and such. I'm hoping they get Wii Scarface in this week. Any sightings?
Does blockbuster/gamerush still only update trade in values once a week?
I don't think any of us trades there enough these days to know for sure, but it seems unlikely given their lack of attention to the gaming side of things that they would make more frequent updates.

That reminds me, does anyone know if Blitz is still $25 this week (after Tuesday)? I have a new copy from GC that I need to trade in or return within the next 2 days.

After Tuesday as in Wednesday? I think I did late Tuesday (6pm PST) and got $25.

I remember that gamerush used to update prices on Tuesday morning, but that was a few years ago...

Well, I hope to be doing that same Blitz trade this weekend, as well as getting Wii Scarface from Gamerush, so I will post my results.

Yeah, that should mean it is OK for this week. There was always some doubt, though, about the Tuesday date, so I figured a trade on Weds at $25 would confirm it for sure. But probably it is OK.

A GR that I go to has already stopped taking Blitz 360 in for trades. I hope this won't be the fashion of others. They only took in 5, including my 1, total and said they wouldn't be accepting any additional.

Blitz (x360) still gets $25 as of this evening at around 6:00 p.m. Amassed enogh credit to finally pickup a DS and all they had was pink.

Yep, Blitz still $25 and PSP Pac-Man Rally still $15 as of Thurs night. I'm not sure WHY I keep doing this, but now I've built my BB/GR credit back up again .

Same here. I swore that I would not amass any more credit at Gamerush but somehow cannot help myself. I'm like some sort of junkie.

Well, I think it's worse that I've built up my credit and now I'm living in an area without a gamerush within 50 miles. I used to live near a bunch of gamerush stores. I would have to fly to another state to redeem my built up credit unless I just buy movies or pick over a skimpy blockbuster used game selection.

Does anyone know what MLB 2K7 for 360 gets? Time to move onto THE SHOW ;)

I think I'll have enough credit for around 3 games now....then I will be done with them probably.

So after reading on here a bit, you all have me a bit concerned. I partook in the Blitz flip for a total of $100 in credit. My planned purchases are Guitar Hero 80s next month, and then nothing until some 360 games are released this fall.

Should I be concerned about planning 2 new release purchases at GameRush? I did just realized that GRs usually don't get their new games until Friday (as opposed to the usual Tuesday everywhere else) but I guess I can live with that. Is there a chance that come fall, I might be screwed and stuck with credit that's worthless?

Thanks!
-Sean

Damn it's been so long since i've traded at Blockbuster/gamerush but i've gotta get my sticky fingers all over a copy of Blitz! Cheapass Live points FTW!!!

MLB 2k7 360 only gets $20 at EB according to their website. I didn't check anywhere else I just threw it on Ebay last week and ended up getting $37 after paying all fees and shipping....

I'll try to get in on the Blitz trade in deal this weekend. Forza 2 for about $25 out of pocket isn't bad. If it wasn't 100+ degrees over here I'd check GC right now!

After the GR 8 miles from me closed down I think the next closest GR is 750 miles away

My local BB does have a decent selection of used games, though, for whatever reason. Of course, the prices are too high - if they ever extend the B2G1 or 25% off promos to 360 games I might have a few things I can use the credit on. But most likely I'll save the credit for a trip to Atlanta. Problem is, that might not happen this year and that's pushing it for GR's survivability ;).

My BB still appears to be getting new releases - although they aren't sure yet with DiRT for 360. They even still have the $5 reserve boxes out there for Bioshock, Mass Effect, GTA and a few others.

Can anyone share where the pac man games are being bought from? I searched back several pages and all the talk is of trading them only...

thanks for any help!

Pac-Man World Rally for PSP can be found for $9.99 as a "frontlane" game at some Best Buys. Using the GamePro coupon (which is active again and for another week only) you can get it for $5. Gunpey is also there (and seems much easier to get). Last week that traded for $12.50 (and also gets you $9.90 at GC after MVP).

I was only able to find about 3 Pac Mans across 4 Best Buys in my area. The frontlane stuff is really YMMV in terms of availability. If you have a PSP, though, it's worth checking out. There are plenty of other things that aren't worth trading but that you might want for just $5 - Virtua Tennis, Ghost in the Shell, Sega Genesis Collection (only saw one of these ever), and a few others.

Sweet info thanks io! The closest I had gotten was to page #67 and you mentioning Best Buy and a coupon so i was searching the main pages when u posted. :D

Time to hit the streets! :D

Made a disappointing run to Game Crazy...no used Blitz, Ant Bully, Happy Feet, or Grim Adventures. Another CAG must have beat me to them...cause they had every other game you could want...can't imagine those crappy games selling otherwise. I did find 5 NES games I needed for my collection at $2.50 each though. They has one new copy of Blitz for $20.

Here's a tip for people that have a Blockbuster/Gamerush close to their house and like renting movies and games but only get around 1 movie a week. Sign up for the $7.99 a month plan. You only get 3 movies a month mailed to you, but you can return those movies to the store for 3 in-store rentals. Then you can use the coupon you print out online (once per month) to get a video game rental. I use this coupon to try out new Wii games. It's a pretty good deal since my local store charges more than $7.99 to rent one Wii game. This way I get 6 movie rentals and one video game rental a month for $7.99. I was on the $18 a month 3 out at a time plan but lately haven't been watching enough movies to make that plan worthwile.

Bad news from the Game Crazy thread:

"As a side note, the prices for Ant Bully (Wii), Blitz The League (X360), Happy Feet (Wii), and Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy (X360) all went back up. This could be temporary, but for now, Ant Bully is 29.99/24.99, Blitz is 19.99/14.99, and both Happy Feet and Grim Adventures are 29.99/24.99. The same thing happened with Far Cry. It went down to 19.99/14.99, then back up to 49.99/44.99, then back down again to 19.99/14.99. It may be temporary and the prices may drop back down, I'll post if they do."

Here's the way to do it (if you are out and about anyway - wouldn't waste too much time or gas on this):

1) Buy Gunpey $5 at Best Buy -> $9.90 at GC
2) Buy Blitz used $7.19 or new $9.99 at GC (apparently this is not so any more) -> $25 at GR

Do that twice and you have a $50 game for $10. If only I could spend my GR credit! (And, of course, throw in a Pac-Man and Gunpey at GR as well - not quite the same profit but decent nonetheless).

Again, I'll throw out that request for a black 360 controller if anyone sees them at their GR. Just send me a PM - due to the cheap nature of the credit, I'm willing to go beyond the cost ;).

I can confirm the price increases at GC on Blitz the League at least...they had a new copy for $20 when I went today...no used copies...I passed on the new copy...seemed high to me since the used price was supposed to be $7.99...then I saw the GC thread here and found out the Blitz price went back up.
