Just looking for trade-in prices? Well, check out what's been reported:
GameRush Trade-In Prices Wiki
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

50% Off Sale

Edit: It looks as though more games are being added to the 50% off list on 3/25/07. Here's what jaybsooner is reporting:
Hey guys, just a head's up. Went to my local Gamerush today (03/24/07), noticed they had put a ton of the NEW games they had for sale on a side counter. The manager told me they were being added to the 50% off sale. These were new additions to the previous sale. He let me look at the list he had for his store of the pulled games. PS2, XBOX, PSP, Gamecube, and 360 were on the list, the majority of the list (about half) was original XBOX, with about 20% PS2, rest a mix of 360, Gamecube, and PSP.

Can't recite the list verbatim, but you may want to check with your local game rush, I believe the actual list may vary from store to store, based what they have in inventory.

If you want, post what titles you are interested in and I will do my best to recall if it was included on the list, but I would suggest going to you local Gamerush and scout it out today!!
The prices will be listed on the price drop reports as 1 cent drops making the game prices end in .98. The 50% will be automatically deducted when the employee hits the Total button. It's very unlikely that there is any signage or changes in prices actually displayed at the stores yet.

Okay, details are still rolling in and we don't have a full list yet, but we're getting there.

FAQ (Read before you ask a question.)

Q: Are used games included?
A: No, this is only for new games.

Q: Is this sale going on at normal Blockbusters?
A: Yes, as long as it is not a franchise Blockbuster. Most Blockbusters are not franchise locations. Call your local store and ask if they are a corporate or a franchise store if you are unsure or check a past receipt to see if it says "Blockbuster Franchisee".

Q: The games are scanning at full price, is this sale for real?
A: You won't get the discount until the employee hits "Total" on the register.

Q: Do Blockbuster gift cards work at Gamerush?
A: Yes.

Q: Is this going on nationwide?
A: Yes, but see details on franchise locations above.

Q: My blockbuster employees say they don't know anything about the sale, is this sale real or happening in my area?
A: It's a good thing that they don't know and see above franchise locations information.

Q: If I ask something that is clearly laid out here in the OP, will shipwreck make fun of me?
A: Probably.

(All prices are after the 50% off discount.)
As far as I was told, it is on new games only, and is 50% off the marked price. The list was also laying on the back counter and I perused it. The list of games are for the PS2, GameCube, Xbox, PSP, and Xbox360. There are no DS games.

I wrote down the Xbox360 games since I thought those would be the most interesting. There were not many PSP games and the ones on the list were not very exciting. So without further ado, the Entire Xbox360 50% Off GameRush Listing:

System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

Random Tip
FIFA 2007 for the Xbox 360 is currently listed at $40 new ($60 everywhere else). If you pre-order it and pay for it in full now, you should be able to pick it up when it releases and save yourself $20.

struck out at another gamerush today as they were pretty much cleaned out. If anybody can help me obtain:

:psp: Killzone Liberation
:ps2: 24: The game

from this sale, it would be greatly appreciated. Also, does anybody know if any DS games are on clearance as well?

Well, have some discouraging news for Greenville, SC, CAGers. Talked to one of the managers at the Mauldin store and it sounds like all of the GameRushes in the Upstate of South Carolina will be gone within 6 months. The Mauldin and Batesville stores are slated to go in June.

Of course, this could mean some good clearances. But I'm a little disappointed that first we lost Rhino and now GameRush. Hate to only be dealing with EB/GameStop (although there is one GameCrazy in the area).

Oh well, with all of the GameRush bashing I kind of liked having them as an option especially when I had it pretty good with some of the employees giving me the scoop.

They'll all still carry a limited amount of used games, I guess, as do the non-GameRush stores now.

Do you ever goto the one in Simpsonville (Five Forks)?

I really like that one and hope it isn't gone too

I may have missed it earlier in the thread, but does anyone know if GameRush is getting Guitar Hero 2 for 360 in at all?

Don't count on any clearance. If it is anything like my store closing they will have no idea what they are doing with their stock until the very day they get the order to have it all sent to corporate .

However, if it is a coordinated multi-store closing thing, they MAY treat it differently than just my one store. I just wouldn't get your hopes up ;).

I picked up Me and My Katamari tonight, they also had WTF which I did not get. Store was picked fairly clean. I was kind of surprised as that store usually doesn't see much action, but it took me a few days to go there so I should've expected it.

I saw it tonight at my local GR (Valencia).

I would've asked if it was on sale but they were really busy and I'm not that interested in it.
There are a few games I know some of y'all are looking for that I'd pick up without blinking any other time. But I'm leaving town and didn't want to say "i've got your game but you have to wait two weeks for me to get around to shipping it out to you."
That's understandable. Thanks though.

Nothing too exciting, but some titles I haven't seen listed here at 50% off were:

Pirates of the Caribbean: Legend of Jack Sparrow (PS2) $10
Taito Legends (PS2) $5
Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire (GC) $5

Awesome, thanks. It being on sale doesn't bother me too much, as I have just enough credit left to get it ar full price.
Okay here's a noodle buster for you.

One of my GR had Prey: CE for $20 and if it's supposedly a part of this clearance then wouldn't it be $10? But it's listed on here for $15 after the 50%.

I mean I don't want to get it if it rings up for $20 and doesn't give me 50% off.
So can anyone help me out with this?

I've seen the CE edition fot $30 at regular price , which would bring it to 15 . The regular edition is $20 and is not part of the sale.
Do you ever goto the one in Simpsonville (Five Forks)?

I really like that one and hope it isn't gone too
Yes, and I think when he refered to "Batesville" closing GR in June, he was referring to the Five Forks one as one of the roads there is Batesville Road. As I said, the manger said all of the GameRushes in the entire district would be closing within 6 months.

Just to make sure there's no confusion, we're only talking about the GR pulling out. These stores will stay open just no longer have a dedicated GR.

ok so, can anyone confirm if this sale is really ending on the 22nd of april? i've been holding off for 75% but if they won't do it then......i dunno.

One clarifaction. It was stated a few days ago that all NGC and GBA games are a part of the sale, but I learned this is false today. Picked up Mario Baseball NGC, rang up and totalled for the marked price ($30). So there are at least a few NGC games that are not part of this clearance...would assume the same for GBA as well.

Hit up 2 GR's today looking for We Love Katamari....damn.
They stores are looking BARE. 1 store had no clearance games to speak of besides a few sports ones, and the other one has rows and rows of nothing.
If anyone here thinks GR is here too stay...they're not. This looks almost like a complete "going out a business" sale. I can see them carrying PS3/360/Wii titles, but looks like everything else is going away. There is no reason to dump PS2/XBOX/CUBE games as they are playable on the next-gen system.
I should mentioned both stores had a GH II box there (and priced!) but they were NOT in-stock. Damn.
My store had GH2 in stock (8 copies w/ Guitar) but wouldn't sell them. C'mon guys!

Picked up MegaMan X Maveric Hunters ($10) and Infected ($10) for the PSP for my little brother. I didn't know they were included until I saw a pink clearance sticker on them at my local Gamerush. Also picked up FFV ($15) for me, thanks everybody!
Do you think there will be a reduction to 75% before then? Even at 50% off, a lot of stuff still hasn't sold round here. If the sale ends, what are they going to do with the unsold games I wonder.
there will be no reduction to 75%. at least it wasnt on the sheet that had all the dates for the sale.(such as phase 1, 2 etc...)

I can't really comment beyond more speculation. However, having visited 5+ GR stores in my area, the general dismantling of the "New" video game section is undeniable. However, there are suprisingly a number of games that remain at non-clearance prices. If they are truly going to do away with all games before Wii/PS3/360, there will have to be another clearance with several other games that weren't on this first clearance.

The Manager today told me there was a list of games that were dropping in price tomorrow. However, she was largely unaware of several games that had already dropped in price - so I'm not sure if she knew what she was talking about. I picked up Eyetoy Play 2 and Eyetoy Antigrav at 1/2 off.

Additionally, a visiting district Manager at another GR I was at a few weeks ago mentioned that GR would get out of XBox altogether in the near future. I didn't think much about it then, but now that I'm pondering this thread I guess there is more significance. His reasoning was that the 360 was more or less replacing XBox - so rumors of GR's demise may be largely over-stated.

In searching for a new Mario Kart DD today I stumbled onto a new Mario Power Tennis (GC) and a new Lost In Blue (DS). Sorry, I've been looking for a chance to share my joy with people who recognize the significance (My girlfriend tries, she's sweet).

Some various trade in values I received/quoted today, some of which are already known:

Free (sorta) after coupon at Best Buy:
:ps2: IHRA Professional Drag Racing - $6
:ps2: Suzuki TT Superbikes - $1.25
:ps2: High Rollers Casino - $1.25
:ds: Sega Casino - $2 (only free if not in cardboard)

$5 after coupon at Best Buy:
:gc: Rave Master - $9.50
:ps2: Hunter: the Reckoning: Wayward - $0.25
:ps2: One Piece: Pirate's Carnival - $6.00
:ps2: Rumble Roses - $0.25
:ps2: Timesplitters: Future Perfect - $0.25
:ps2: Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit - $6.00

And a TRU title:
:ps2: Steambot Chronicles - $16.00

I spoke to a store manager tonight and mentioned the rumor that Blockbuster was dumping GameRush. She was very emphatic that it wasn't so, that they were just dumping most of the last-gen stuff. I guess we'll find out soon enough.

I can believe this to a certain extent. Sure most last gen games are BC with this gen consoles, but there isn't space to hold both. Space is a big concern especially on the "Used" side of the house. Maybe Blockbuster finally realized that it isn't great to have 5+ copies of every old sports title. I believe the Gamerush on Beach St. in Fort Worth still has a crappy selection of these sports titles.

Gamerush is just the first of the major chains to dump the last gen stuff. Over the next 2-3 years, we'll see a lot of clearances on Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, and GBA games. I think a lot of chains have learned there's not much point in keeping this stuff around at full price once the new consoles come out. Eb/Gamestop and Game Crazy will probably be the last holdouts.

Glad GameRush is getting GHII. I pre-ordered, to use up my credit, so I'm looking forward to picking it up. Is TUESDAY, the official release date?

Yep, I was quoted Tuesday (4/3) morning as the date when they will start to sell it. Many stores already have their copies...they're just holding them back (unlike Target).

Thanks...Tuesday it is then...hopefully. Today is opening day anyways, so after work I'm hoping to catch the left half of the Detroit game (or leave work early)

My store is lacking in the 50% off titles. 360 games are scarce now, and PSP games are not that great either. Oh well. Almost bought Family Guy for PSP.

So what will they do with the 3 now empty rows where the New XBOX, CUBE, PS2 etc. were? No way can they will them with used games unless every row is going to have 35 copies of GUN. Game Rush is the most bizarre ass-backwards retail store I have ever seen operated.
As I said, the manger said all of the GameRushes in the entire district would be closing within 6 months.

Just to make sure there's no confusion, we're only talking about the GR pulling out. These stores will stay open just no longer have a dedicated GR.
So it sounds like my Manager friend knew what he was talking about. Too bad. I enjoyed picking up games there when they were on sale. I used up all my credit when I got my Wii and refused to build any more up there after that fiasco. I'm glad, now.

FYI to all Greenville Area CAGs, the best trade-in values seem to be at the "Video Game Cavern" in Taylors. It's a local Mom-n-Pop. They carry tons of "classic" games as well as all the newer stuff new and used. The only problem there is they only seem to stock 2-3 of the newest releases, so if there's something new you want you may have to wait a few days to get one, but it's usually cheaper than the other guys and worth it.

I've dealt with the GameCrazy on Pelham a little bit. They're okay but the trade-in values and prices aren't real great, plus they have that whole membership/2-tiered pricing thing going on which I can't stand. They do get in the latest games on the release date, though. I'd use them before EB/Gamestop.

Yeah, I agree with that, but living towards the Simpsonville side of town doesn't make it easy to get over there. When Rhino was around, it was worth the drive to get the 2-for-1 deal. Not sure it's worth it for a bit more to go over to Video Game Cavern now.

Now that there's an FYE at Haywood, there may be an occassional deal there. But -- at least at first -- they were absolutely horrible getting in new games. Did a 2-for-1 deal there on a pre-order when they first opened and they never got the game in.

Do you know how much the PSP Family Guy is? I know the PS2 was $15, but if the PSP is $10 I'd get that one instead.

I believe it was also $15....I vaguely remember seeing a $29.99 tag on it.

Funny thing is, they Pink tagged a bunch of PSP games, but leave them LOCKED UP in a case...seems kinda lame to me.

I saw it for $15.

I managed to get Robotech: Battlecry on the PS2 for $2.50! It had a sticker on it saying it was $9.99 (and it wasn't in the clearance section), but it rang up for $14.98. The manager came and did an override, making it $9.99, but after the cashier hit total, it took off as if it was a clearance title. The thing is, it still did it on the $14.98 price, so in total it took off $7.49, making the game $2.50!

I can't really remeber how the last sale of this type went, but does anyone recall whether or not the clearance games eventually went to 75% off, or did they just let the sale run for awhile and then field destroy the lot (or however it is they get rid of em)?

roc's feather;2802732]I can't really remeber how the last sale of this type went said:
I posted this before when we were debating the timing of the 75% off portion. They went to 75% just over THREE MONTHS after the 50% sale started last time (50% started March 14th, 2006, 75% off started June 26th). So there would be a ways to go if they followed that pattern. But Sgt. Killjoy says the schedule this time calls for an end to the sale on April 22nd. So it seems perhaps they are not doing 75% off this time. Seems wierd - they will most likely have a lot to field destroy at that point if they don't reduce it further. Unless they plan to just put the remains back out at regular price again?? That would be even more bizarre ;).

Picked up Bully for $21 last night at the 50% off sale. I also preordered Guitar Hero 2. They said they should have 3 copies coming in today. I am done with my credit.

Here's what I picked up:

Suikoden IV $10
Donkey Konga 2 $10
Shining Force Neo $15
Valkyrie Profile 2 $25

I didn't see any of these on the list, so I thought I would post them.

I bought a PSP at BB over the weekend for 199.99. Now that the price is universal dropped to 169.99 how easy is it to get BB to price adjust? Does anyone know? thanks

I bought 4 GC games (Rave master) at BB for $21.XX after taxes & $5 off coupon. Trade-in at GR for $41.XX after taxes. So far I bought Street Fighter Alpha (PSP) and God Hand (PS2) for $21.XX after taxes. Still have $20 left :)

Guitar Hero 2 X360 is definitely available today at GR - picked mine up for $90 in credit. Not the best price, but gotta use the rest of my credit up I suppose ;-)

P.S. I'm sure this has been discussed elsewhere, but GH2 is so worth it, even if you played the crap out of the PS2 versions. 3 reasons: new songs, online leaderboards, and achievements!

Picked up GHII at GR today....

Some new quotes
Wii - Elebits $30
Wii - Rayman $30
Wii - Super Monkey Ball $30
PS3 - Full Auto 2 $36

Should be very simple, just go and ask!

For CAGs in Indy, the Blockbuster/GameRush at Pendleton Pike and 465 still had a good selection of 360 games last night. I picked up Marvel Ultimate Alliance and Lego Star Wars 2 and they had more copies of each of those, along with copies of about 10 other 360 games.

So, anyone know the TRADE-IN value for the following 360 games (after buying GHII there, my credit is down to about $70)

- Dead Rising
- Saint's Row
- NCAA 07 Football
