Just looking for trade-in prices? Well, check out what's been reported:
GameRush Trade-In Prices Wiki
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

50% Off Sale

Edit: It looks as though more games are being added to the 50% off list on 3/25/07. Here's what jaybsooner is reporting:
Hey guys, just a head's up. Went to my local Gamerush today (03/24/07), noticed they had put a ton of the NEW games they had for sale on a side counter. The manager told me they were being added to the 50% off sale. These were new additions to the previous sale. He let me look at the list he had for his store of the pulled games. PS2, XBOX, PSP, Gamecube, and 360 were on the list, the majority of the list (about half) was original XBOX, with about 20% PS2, rest a mix of 360, Gamecube, and PSP.

Can't recite the list verbatim, but you may want to check with your local game rush, I believe the actual list may vary from store to store, based what they have in inventory.

If you want, post what titles you are interested in and I will do my best to recall if it was included on the list, but I would suggest going to you local Gamerush and scout it out today!!
The prices will be listed on the price drop reports as 1 cent drops making the game prices end in .98. The 50% will be automatically deducted when the employee hits the Total button. It's very unlikely that there is any signage or changes in prices actually displayed at the stores yet.

Okay, details are still rolling in and we don't have a full list yet, but we're getting there.

FAQ (Read before you ask a question.)

Q: Are used games included?
A: No, this is only for new games.

Q: Is this sale going on at normal Blockbusters?
A: Yes, as long as it is not a franchise Blockbuster. Most Blockbusters are not franchise locations. Call your local store and ask if they are a corporate or a franchise store if you are unsure or check a past receipt to see if it says "Blockbuster Franchisee".

Q: The games are scanning at full price, is this sale for real?
A: You won't get the discount until the employee hits "Total" on the register.

Q: Do Blockbuster gift cards work at Gamerush?
A: Yes.

Q: Is this going on nationwide?
A: Yes, but see details on franchise locations above.

Q: My blockbuster employees say they don't know anything about the sale, is this sale real or happening in my area?
A: It's a good thing that they don't know and see above franchise locations information.

Q: If I ask something that is clearly laid out here in the OP, will shipwreck make fun of me?
A: Probably.

(All prices are after the 50% off discount.)
As far as I was told, it is on new games only, and is 50% off the marked price. The list was also laying on the back counter and I perused it. The list of games are for the PS2, GameCube, Xbox, PSP, and Xbox360. There are no DS games.

I wrote down the Xbox360 games since I thought those would be the most interesting. There were not many PSP games and the ones on the list were not very exciting. So without further ado, the Entire Xbox360 50% Off GameRush Listing:

System Watch:

Some GameRushes have PS3's on their incoming shipping reports as arriving on Tuesday, December 5th. One of the local stores that actually received Wii's will receive 1 (One) PS3 ($600 Version) tomorrow. No firm reports on when the next shipment of Wii's will arrive.

Random News:

In a really strange turn of events, GameRush actually pulled a lot of PS2, Xbox, and Gamecube games from Previously Played status and put them back up on the wall to rent. There are still plenty of used games for sale, but I thought this was an interesting move on Blockbuster's part.

Random Tip
FIFA 2007 for the Xbox 360 is currently listed at $40 new ($60 everywhere else). If you pre-order it and pay for it in full now, you should be able to pick it up when it releases and save yourself $20.

Trade-In Price Wiki
I can confirm the price increases at GC on Blitz the League at least...they had a new copy for $20 when I went today...no used copies...I passed on the new copy...seemed high to me since the used price was supposed to be $7.99...then I saw the GC thread here and found out the Blitz price went back up.
D'oh! I have not seen that yet. I went to a GC last night and they didn't have any copies new or used. Oh well, I was able to flip one used and one new copy. I was considering getting one to keep as well, but who am I kidding, I'd never play it - so it's just as well...

SNAP!!!!!!!

I can confirm that MLB 2K7 for the 360 gets $32. Now, I just have to find a copy of MLB 07 The Show at a GR. I've rented it for three straight weeks now. I love my free rental coupons.

Hrm well I noticed a distinct lack of newer games at GR. I was looking for Wii Scarface but didn't see it. Also didn't see Shadowrun or Call of Juarez either. The most recent title I saw was Pirates of the Caribbean, as far as I could tell. So...do they actually get new games in, or what?

AFAIK they get their games later than say GS/EB etc., depending on if the manager ordered them or not. mine has at least shadowrun & forza 2, but like i said, it may take till a week later, etc.

Does it help to pre-order the game at GR? Would that force at least your one copy to get ordered on time?

Some updated GR trade prices for the Wiki (for anyone who can add them). These were checked on 6/13/07:
Crackdown (360) = $32
DOA 4 (360) = $19
Full Auto (360) = $15
WSOP (360) = $15
Fuzion Frenzy 2 (360) = $15
Wii Play (Wii) = Don't accept
DDR 2 and DDR 3 (Xbox) = $9.50 each

NO! In my experience anyway - it seemed to make no difference whether I preordered or not, even months in advance. They'd either get the game or not, regardless. minos1067, I'm not sure if different GR are run differently or what, but at mine the ordering of games was completely 100% out of the manager's hands. He never had any idea how or why they got or didn't get certain games - and always had to switch my preorders for things that didn't come in... He made it sound like that was all run by corporate, and they just accepted whatever they got with no say in the matter.

jgressley - I'll add the prices into the wiki now... Odd, Full Auto was only $9 in the wiki as updated way back in October. It is unusual for BB/GR to raise trade-in prices.

another thing that i was told is that they don't take pre-orders anymore at this gamerush in monterey park, ca; though they will put your name on a list or something of the sort. they don't even sell new systems anymore either.

the manager probably just tells me things to make me feel better about getting stuff there.

Actually, he's being honest. I work at Blockbuster, and we are told by corporate that we can't reserve anything for customers anymore. We still put sticky notes on stuff in the back for people ask, though.

Sucks that I don't have a Gamerush near me and my Blockbuster doesn't have many new games. I'm going to have to do a bit of traveling to get to one, but I get a 20% employee discount on top of the regular sales...

Ugh, this is just getting depressing. I guess I had better keep an eye out for a way to flip my credit to somewhere else. And with GR's used prices, I don't see that happening any time soon.

So, does Blockbuster still do trades? I've got a few games to get rid of, but EB/GS is a rip off, GameCrazy doesn't exist near me, and I've only seen Blockbusters around here (no GameRush). It seems like Blockbuster is the place to go for decent deals.

Can I use that credit towards movie rentals or is it just for games?

They let me preorder NCAA 08 for the 360. But after hearing all this stuff, I may spend my $180 in credit sooner than later. I also have Halo 3 PAID OFF in full.

Can I use that credit towards movie rentals or is it just for games?
Oh yeah, you can use the credit for anything. Since my GR shut down in March I only trade at retgular Blockbusters. If you regularly spend money there renting games or movies it is definitely worth building up some credit with trade-ins. I just wish my local Blockbusters carried ANY new games - they made a decision last Fall to get rid of all new games and most accessories as well. My local store had 2 Sixaxis controllers last week and they were just gone this week - said they sent them away. I think those were transferred from GR when they closed too... They also had some PS2 controllers and memory cards last week and they were all gone as well. Just about all that's left in terms of new stock are a couple of old strategy guides (FF XII and KH II I think).

If I wanted to convert my credit to cash...what seems to hold the highest resale value (DS Lite? Games? More?)

I'm getting a bit anxious sitting on credit in these days, although my stores still seems to have a decent amount of games....not sure of new stuff though.

If you're looking at eBay, gift cards and points cards followed by rare games, then systems. If by chance you ever snagged a Wii at GameRush.... (I don't know if any of them have even received a Wii tho.)

I like doing points cards because you can e-mail codes and Gift cards because there are really cheap to ship.

The only thing that I've found worth buying @ GR are MS points. Even though I can get them @ BB for $5 cheaper w/ GCC. I've purchased about 6 cards already and I still have about $100 left to go.

Perhaps someone with a Wiki account can add a few old games:

PS2 Klonoa 2 - $4.25
GCN Star Wars Rogue Leader - $2.50
GCN Star Fox Adventures - $6.00

Yeah... There isn't anything worth getting at Blockbusters. Used game selection is pretty weak. My Blockbuster wouldn't take DS games, so I traded Mario vs. DK 2 to EB Games which got me $10.00. (Again, if you got a Wiki account, I'm sure people would appreciate it if that was added :) )

I saw a Wii Big Brain Academy in a display case at a Gamerush today, so it looks like the new games are trickling in...perhaps only 'big' titles though. No Wii Scarface at any of the 3 GRs I looked at.

Well, I was looking to use my credit on some Live point cards, and they didn't have any...I guess I'll check a few others. They DID have a PS3 controller, which I may get since I only have one.

Back in the days of the really good Circuit City & TRU sales ($9 into $24-30, etc), i bought around 7 DS lites, all of which sold from $110 to $165 not including S&H (no idea how it went above retail). Average price im seeing on ebay is $110-130 not including shipping.

Though, if your BB takes preorders, i'd go with the Halo 3 LE's. Though theyre probably not going to be "limited", im sure the ebay prices will be higher than retail.

If you have more faith in GameCrazy getting in new releases than GameRush (and at this point, I know I do). The 50% more trade-in special they have right now is a great way to convert your GR credit!

I also posted this in the GC thread, but ...

I was getting worried about GameRush not getting DiRT for 360 in (it's not listed in my local stores shipments for this week), so I went ahead and bought a few games with GR credit to trade in to GameCrazy for this deal and it worked great:

Gears of War GR used $45 = $40.50 ($27 + 13.50 bonus) GC credit
XBLA Collection GR used $16.99 = $27.27 ($18.18 + 9.09 bonus) GC credit

So I basically spent $63 GR credit and got $67.27 in GC store credit.

The XBLA Collection is even $20 new at GameRush (if they have it after the clearance) so it's definately a good flip at GC.

You mean Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged xbox 360, right?

Too bad, my GR was chock full of used 360 games before it closed. I can try my local Blockbuster as they have a *few* games, I'm just not sure they have enough to do this with... I'll check it out though. Are there any other good candidates?
You mean Xbox Live Arcade Unplugged xbox 360, right?
Yes, sorry.

As for other candidates, I'm not sure. Heard that C&C3 and NBA Homecourt each get $45 with the 50% bonus at GC. But I think they are $54.99 and $49.99 respectively at BB used so you're losing money, but then again, you have better chances of getting new games that are coming out.

XBLA Unplugged seems to be the best of them to get you more than you paid at BB. If anyone finds more, let us know! Sure would like to convert all my credit over to GC as they continue to get new releases on time --- and my trust in GameRush getting new games is going down.

Thanks, Is $19.99 the universal price for the xbox live arcade unplugged, isn't it? That is weird.

Well, I am never going to step in side a blockbuster or gamerush again! I went to go trade in Madden 07 HOF (360), and when I went to the register they said my trade in account has been banned. I was like WTF, I havn't been to blockbuster in about 3+ months. The manager accused me of flipping, which I have never done. I used to trade in abunch of games cause I had a huge collection. Anyways the trade in price would have been $15 compared to the miserable price I had to get from gamestop $5.

I hear a lot of frustration with GR here. The vibe I am getting is that GR is backing out of games? Or is everyone just complaining because they're not giving the great deals they used to?

This info would help me greatly in some decisions about some of the games I have right now.

I went to two regular Blockbusters. The first is my local store and for whatever reason is one of the best-stocked non-GR Blockbusters there is for used games. They have an entire row of them - most only have one table's worth. Anyway, they had just about every other 360 game but no Arcade Unplugged. I was tempted to get Gears of War, but the disc was probably too scratched up and I figured it wasn't worth making them get it out. The second store had a table's worth, and needless to say, no Arcade Unplugged there either. Then I went to a GS where they had 6 copies ;).

Just to compare and contrast GR with Gamecrazy - I was forced to buy something at Gamecrazy for their 50% trade-in promo. Much to my surprise they had a copy of Etrian Odyssey. We all know GR would never have gotten this game, even in their "peak" years . I also noticed a restock of Puzzle Quest (since I had bought the last gutted copy at this store a few weeks ago). The word "restock" was never uttered at my GR... Once something was gone (new games, I mean) you'd never see it again.

So a question anybody know where I can get rid of my gamerush credit for cash? I noticed awhile back there are giftcard selling websites is blockbuster on any of them?

haha wtf?

Why would Gamerush even care if people flip anymore?

That place is like a ghost town now.

Skelah, it'll be tough getting rid of a ton of credit now - I dumped mine over a year ago (maybe closer to two years?) while Gamerush was still sort of it's in prime but you could tell it was starting to get shitty.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing. It was actually when they stopped banning people that they started to go downhill. It was just like they gave up even caring about it any more. I'm very surprised this guy was banned so late in the game. I guess that particular store manager/district manager still believes in GR . But if I were you toocool17, I'd ask for more info your alleged "flipping" if you haven't even traded there in 3 months. At least make them explain themselves.

I stopped at a Gamerush tonight on a whim. What I learned:

1) They had no copies of the Transformers DS games to purchase or rent. The guy working the GR side wasn't even aware there was a DS version. So likely, they aren't carrying it. They do have the console versions on the board as releasing on the 29th, along with The Darkness.

2) They do, however, have Transformer CCG packs at $3.99. Lowest price I've seen in stores, even before factoring in that they can be bought with GR credit instead of real money.

3) The trade-in value for Eragon on the 360 is $22. Assuming you can use GR credit, it's not a bad alternative if your FYE plans fell through and you can't return your copy. (This title isn't listed in the wiki, if someone could add it.)

4) Weirdness: The size of the gaming area didn't change, but they moved one of the smaller racks to make room for framed artwork stacked in boxes. Oddly, the few I noticed were not movie posters - things like dogs playing billiards, Spidey comic artwork, things like that. Not sure how this particular product line fits in, but I saw two different people making purchases. Wasn't interested enough to look at the prices, or to see if they have offical Blockbuster price stickers/barcodes.

5) And the strangest thing: they had two 360 Elites, a white DS Lite and a PS3 in stock; and according to the employee, they apparently had at least one Wii for about 45 minutes. So it appears they are still sending hardware to the stores, albeit in low doses.

Wild.

Wow, that is really cool that they had a 360 Elite in stock. I would almost use my $180 in credit towards that and make a decent EBAY profit...although, I may keep the Elite in favor of my normal Premium...the HDMI would be nice. Although, the wife would not like me spending MORE money after the new TV and PC and more.

Oh well, hopefully they get my NCAA 08 in and I can use credit on that....followed by Madden 08, then GTA IV and Halo 3. Then, GR and I will be done probably ;)
Anybody try to shovel Circuit City or Toys R Us games here yet?

Dave
You know, with the EB and GC deals going on I didn't even consider this, but I'm sure some of those games get decent trade-in values at Blockbuster. It would be nice to know as a backup plan in case those other deals change.

It would be interesting to know what DOAX2 (360), DDRU (360), and Meet the Robinsons (Wii) get at BB/GR.

DOAX2 gets $34 in trade in at Gamerush.

Also, Spider-man 3 for the PS3 gets $36, while COD 3 on the 360 gets $32. This was at the Gamerush on Victory Blvd. on Staten Island. They also had alot of black 360 controllers. This Gamerush still looks alive and kicking.

Yeah I just signed up with Gamecrazy this weekend, traded some stuff in (all things that are mentioned in the wiki already), got the Wii Scarface that GR never received, and I'm not looking back. I'd continue to do business with GR if they actually got the games in, but what on Earth is the point of building up credit if they're not getting in anything to spend it on? The only new games I've seen there were generic movie licensed titles like Pirates, Shrek, etc.
Having said that, I do have $180 credit with Gamerush still (Thanks mostly to Costco and Mr.T.Hawk). I assume they're at least going to get the flying-off-the-shelves big games like GTA and Halo 3, so I guess I'll wait on those.

I got $34 for the DOAX2 trade which I got from CC. I may see what I can get for Rumble Roses XX, Bionicle Heroes, and FF XI. (Although I will probably play FF XI for 30 days and see if its worth the $12 a month)

Check your local GR stores for Luminies... I stopped by my store on the way home and nabbed a non-GH copy of the game brand new for $12.99. Normally that's not a great deal but with the PSP 3.50 firmware hype it's not a bad find.
do they still accept hardware trade ins? I might want to get an elite for my 360.
Hmmm, I never throught to do that....although, I would want to kep my HDD until I get all my files transferred over.

So it's confirmed $34 for DOAX2? If so I'm trading mine in. I bought a copy a few days ago at CC and the game is garbage. The girls were fun to look at for about 30 minutes.

Trade-in values I got quotes on today:

:360: Just Cause - $15
:360: Bionicle Heroes - $22
:360: Rumble Roses XX - $10
:360: DDR Universe (game only) - $28.50
:360: Virtua Tennis 3 - $28.50
:360: Final Fantasy XI - Not Accepted
:wii: Meet the Robinsons - $22
:wii: Avatar - $22

Also, :360: Eragon ($22) and :psp: Pac-Man World Rally ($15) held their wiki values.

The person assisting me could not locate trade in values for the 360 Core of Premium, just the Elite, which was $325. Note sure if they aren't in the system, or if he just wasn't searching the right string, but he sure tried.
