OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) since they do have the abillity to bann you from all GameRush locations if they want to.
What is the part number? My GR store had no clue of finding the part number in there system.

Thanks!!
Not in there yet (I'm on break). Our games territory specialist left avoice message this morning saying it would be in tomorrow (Thursday)
Cool!! Thanks for the update!!
I picked up:

SNES Mega Man X-2
SNES Mega Man X-3
DC Resident Evil Code Veronica
DC SF 3RD Strike
DC Soul Calibur

Mega Man X-2 and Mega Man X-3 is going off to ebay since I don't own a snes system. I hope both of these game can pay off for a gamecube system.
mmx2 and 3?

two of the rarest and most valuable snes games casually at your gamerush? all i can say to that is PRRROOOOVVEEEE ITTTTT.

Oh and I was at the farmington hills gamerush today to rent starfox assault (6.99!! now i remember why i quit renting games) and they had the buy 5 ps1 games for 20 promotion. I passed since they had about 100 ps1 games and I had traded in the majority of them during the trade 3 get 1 for 10 deal.

Regarding retro stuff, keep in mind that most GRs didn't have much to begin with. Not too many people bring their Genesis games to trade in these days.

Also, I was going to pick up Duck Dodgers for N64 at my GameRush. It was near-mint. Then it rang up for like $49.99, and the sticker said $29.99. No thanks.

I ended up getting
Silent Hill mint GH
Shadow of Destiny PS2 near-mint
Harvest Moon 64 cart only
Star Wars Jedi Academy Xbox near-mint

for $35 before tax. There went my remaining credit.

I picked up:

Whoever traded them in, is the biggest idiot in the world. Those are the best finds I've seen from these GR threads. :) Good job.
Yep, we've definitely found the winner of the "Best Gamerush retro find" contest right here. Best I could get hold of was a Yoshi's island and Teenage mutant ninja turtles - Tournament Fighters for SNES, and General Chaos for Genesis. And strangely, of the two Gamerush stores I went to, there was just ONE Dreamcast title to be found - Looney toons space race, so I got that too just for the hell of it.

Just got back from yet another GR trip. This time, I took advantage of the PSone deal. By the way, this GameRush had a sign also saying:
10 PSONE GAMES FOR $35

For PSone, I picked up:
Heart of Darkness
Jeopardy 2
Hot Shots Golf 2
MediEvil
Tony Hawk 4
Total savings: $23.95.

Also got, for $0.99 each
Ren and Stimpy Veediots SNES
WWF Royal Rumble SNES
NCAA College Football 2K2 Dreamcast

I picked up a mint cart of Ogre Battle 64 for $9.99. I have a boxed one, but the cart is rental stickered.

Finally, I got a disc-only copy of Sonic Adventure 2 with "The Trial" on it Anyone know what this is? Is it just a demo? I was going to pay $0.99 to find out, but it didn't show up on my receipt, so they must've thrown it in for free -- maybe it didn't scan right...?
EDIT: It was a demo version, which originally came with Phantasy Star Online. I looked at my PSO and sure enough, there it is. Good thing I didn't end up paying for it...

Picked up:

Spawn
POD Speenzone
Shadow Man
UFC
Blue Stinger
TNN Hardcore Heat
Monaco Grand Prix
Sonic Shuffle ( Disk marked not for Resale ? )
Carrier
Army Men Sarge's War

All for Dreamcast
All complete and near Mint except for the Sonic Shuffle which was disk only.

Not bad for $10.00

Not only Retro Gmes are on sale but accessories to those Retro games too!

I got

Duck Dodgers rung up at that price because they scanned the UPC on the BOX rather then the STICKER they put on merchandise.

Screw the games! Total score....I am so jealous.

Wow, I didn't know the accessories were down in price, too! Local GR's here have a DC gun, but, eh, oh well no biggie, here's my great haul. :D

Note, I went to three GR's, only two had anything, but the one at Town East yet again proved to be the best, as the employee there not only knew about the 99 cent ordeal, but also gave me every other game for half off 99 cents! With the "buy one PO, get one half off" deal! The other store did not do it, however, oh well. Here's my haul and pics after.

Pirates of Dark Water (Genesis)
Aladdin (Genesis)
World of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck (I LOVE that game, Genesis)
DYNAMITE HEADDY (Genesis)
Sega 6-Pack
General Chaos (with box, Genesis)
COOL SPOT (with box, Genesis)
Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde (NES)
MTV Remote Control (NES)
Aero the Acrobat 2 (SNES)
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 (DC)
Virtua Fighter 3tb (DC)
Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (DC)
Space Channel 5 (with holograph, and manual, DC)

Total: 13.51

I also saw Star Fox, and a few other good quality games, but I left those for others.

the trade in 2, get a preorder for $35.00 replaced the trade in 3, get a game/preorder for $30.00. here's the link (with the restrictions) from their website:

http://www.gamerush.com/promo_trade_2_preorder.php
Yes, I know that part of it. But is this a completely seperate deal, where you can preorder Doom 3 but no other game by trading in 2 games and you can get it for $30?
oohhh... i had no idea you were specifically asking about the doom 3.

i don't think you can do it anymore b/c it was part of the trade 3, get any preorder for $29.99. i believe they gave you the doom 3 CE for the same price as the regular edition if you used the deal back then. me and several other CAG's were able to do the same.

since there is a new deal, i'm not sure if you can pull it off anymore. it was posted several times when the "trade 3, get a preorder/new game for $29.99" was in effect.

masha, which Game Rush did you pick up the maracas from?

I know that my store has a DC light gun and alot of other older accessories, so I'll check them out next time I go. Nice find on the Maracas. :)

Also, does anyone know if the DC system is $10 or not? I might actually pay $15 or $20 for it, since I've been wanting a DC for a long time.
Nobody's gonna comment on my haul? :p

COMMENT'D

Looks like you found some good DC games. I'm going to go to a few GameRushes in the Dallas area to hunt down a DC system (that's hopefully $10, but I'll pay more if I have to) and some other good DC games that I can get for $0.99. Oh, and the Space Channel 5 holo is pretty cool (I got it with mine, too). :)

EDIT- I got beat to it, but... "Nice haul!"
The stores that I was at had the Dreamcast marked at $19.99, but I didn't have it scanned.
one of the Lee's Summit's GR. It was marked 29.99 .

about the PSP preorder. the guy at my gamerush said that they will put the PSP into their system late this week or early next week. he said that you will need to put a $50 deposit down as well.

maybe this could mean that sony will announce the price/date in the next 7 days.

he also said that they will get them on launch day. this probably isnt all official, but i hope that it is true because i have $250 credit at gamerush, and i NEED a psp.

one of the Lee's Summit's GR. It was marked 29.99 .
I was just at that GR on Monday and saw it on the shelf above their retro games. I didn't think to have it checked since it was priced at $29.99 and I was in a hurry to check the other GR in Lee's Summit since I was on my lunch hour. I'm kicking myself but it's good to see that another CAG scored those maracas.
Persona: Revalations $6.99
Wow, that's an amazing find right there. Is it complete?

The DCs are 9.99 across the board. The first one I bought had a loose 1st Controller port so I got another one at a different store and it was the same price.

Yeah, not only is it complete but in great condition. I got pretty lucky as most of the time I have been doing a quick scan of the PS1 games. I spent most of the time after that trying to find another PS1 game around $7 to get it at half off. I also saw a couple of Super Puzzle Fighter 2's but didn't pick one up since I already had a copy.

Thanks for letting me know about the Dreamcasts. I need to pick me up one of those just in case my other one ever craps out.

rperez1025 Thanks. I would've bought it for 29.99 too. Check ebay :D I recenly started DC collection.

I did Get some games too. I'll post them later.

Nice Persona find. Complete? and wich GR was it? ( I see post above)

I got Bust a Grove few weeks ago from GR at Lee's Summit for $7. Sold it for $61.

I'm in Overland Park.
I also saw a couple of Super Puzzle Fighter 2's but didn't pick one up since I already had a copy.
I picked one Super Puzzle Fighter 2 there as well. I'll be there tomorrow to return some stuff.

Wow, I had no idea Bust a Groove went for that much on ebay. I'm still pumped about getting my copy at a pawn shop in Tennessee for $8. I love that game and Guitaroo Man (and I'm still kicking myself for not picking up an extra copy for $10 at Best Buy when I saw it). I've seen additional copies of Bust A Groove since then (I'm still looking for a complete copy) but have never picked it up. There have been so many times when I have been in a store and wished that I had access to the internet to see how much a game is worth. Mostly because I just like collecting them and I'm really lazy when it comes to selling them. I've had an extra copy of Tactics Ogre, Einhander, and Suikoden 2 for months and still haven't put them on ebay.

As for Persona Revelations, I picked it up at the other Game Rush in Lee's Summit (the one on Sam Walton's Drive).

I'm not planning to sell/trade it anytime soon. I bought Samba De Amigo game last night here on CAG. I was speechless when I saw them :D

Ugh, my find: nothing.

I decided to scope one of the GR's around and the ONLY retro they had were SNES games and most were bagged and the one's left for the most part weren't really interesting. Ugh, just ugh.
Well I guess I'll check the other one in town around me that's a GR.

Dood, you are my new hero masha. NICE FIND.

I just preordered the PSP at my local GameRush. Looks like all the details were correct, in that they are only getting in 5 per store. Luckily I was the first. One of the employees mentioned not being able to preorder until March if there were any left but he was put off by the $250 price tag. Thanks CoryCubed for the details.

Game Rush PSP update

It is in the system now.

Will ring up $399 probably though. Here is the part # for dumb employees

989160 or have them type Find-PSP Hardware

Corry, Thanks for the update!! I also pre-ordered my PSP this morning from GR. The manager at my store said that they were only getting 10 PSP systems. I thought it was only 5 PSP per stores??

Oh yeah......I found the answer to my one old question:

ESPN MLB 2K5 is $50 in their system (XBOX).....bummed me out. I know there is still no OFFICIAL release price for the game though.

Can a Gamerush employee look to see if GR have the following preorders in their system and at what price?

Xbox

Jade Empire: Limited Edition
Splinter Cell Chaos Theory: Limited Edition
Phantom Dust
Resonance
Cold Fear

PS2

Resident Evil Outbreak 2

Normally I can have the GR employee help me by looking in their system, but lately they have been saying they won't bother looking in their system if it's not on the list they have. Any help would be great. Thanks.

The problem with pre-ordering things not on their lists is that they might not even be scheduled to order the title. Even though you put a pre-order down for it, you are not guaranteed that Blockbuster will ever get that game in. I found this out the hard way with Bard's Tale.

Corry, Thanks for the update!! I also pre-ordered my PSP this morning from GR. The manager at my store said that they were only getting 10 PSP systems. I thought it was only 5 PSP per stores??

It varies. Here in OKC our market maybe smaller so we'll be getting less.

Cory, Can GR employees look at there system and tell how many PSP they have pre-sold? I was told this morning, that I was the first to preorder the PSP system.

Thanks!

Yeah I have experienced the same situation before also with quite a bit of titles including Bard's Tale, but I've also received a couple of titles before that were not on their list. On the games they don't receive, they have fully refunded me on all except one (fatal frame II xbox) in which they just gave me the $30 back.

250 for the psp? I don't know if I'm getting one now especially since I spent a lot of credit and gamerush the last few days and only have 180 on my card now. I should of stayed away from gamerush until PSP came out but the temptation was too great.

I had a $432.00 credit at GR and used most of it this morning on the following.

PSP $250
NFL Street PSP $$30.00
NBA Street PSP $30.00
Spiderman 2 PSP $30.00
MVP Baseball PSP $30.00
The Punisher XBOX $50.00
