OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) since they do have the abillity to bann you from all GameRush locations if they want to.

Now i wonder, will Gamerush get the first shipment of PSP's or the 2nd? I would really hate it if they told me that im wont be getting it on the natural release date. Do any of the stellar Gamerush posters on this board have any more info regarding this? Thx in advance.

gamerush will be selling the psp on march 24. if the store near you hasnt filled up all of their preorders, you can still get one on launch day. if they have all of the preorders filled, id reccomend getting one at gamestop or eb, because gamerush probably wont get shipments for a while

i just called my gamerush, and they will let me combine deals. i am going to go to one of my gamerushes, buy 3 used games that earn 35 in credit (costs 90+tax) since there is the buy 2 get 1 free. then i will go to my other gameursh, trade those 3 games for 35 each+5 each, which equals $120 ($30 profit) andi can preorder a game for 30. when its done, i will get a free game :D

Thx for the quick response spin03. That eased my fears :D

I called my local Gamerush and he confirmed all PSPs in the district are spoken for. They will not receive any extras for atleast a week. Games are still available for pre-order. I for one will be taking in a bunch of games for the $5 and pre-ordering just games, and getting the PSP at Wal-Mart.

Crap, I've got 2 games paid for already not coming out till April/May. Time to try and work some magic at getting my 10 bucks back.

I was the very first guy to preorder my PSP at my GR thanks to this board. They still had the price at $399 I believe when I did it! This board is awesome. Thank you everyone for your contributions.

What did you get for $399?

Nothing special! They told me it was a placeholder price that was put into their computer system just to create an entry for the PSP. They did this for a short while at the very beginning of their preorder deal.

As said before, you can probably cancel them and get full credit back for each ($50/each).....then, if you have more games to trade in, do the deal again. I'm in the same boat. I have GTA:SA (XBOX) and Rainbow Six:Lockdown on order.

I was going to cancel but I don't really have many more games to trade in...oh well. Maybe I'll pick up some cheap ones at EBgames.com

I want to preorder some more games when this deal comes around. Maybe I'll just trade away Fight Night 2 and SW:Republic Commando
So the $5 minimum ended today for DVDs. Somehow I missed that one coming.
It ended? To my knowledge that was never a 'promtion' just a minimum base price they paid for any DVD. Can anyone confirm?

WOW! When I managed a Game Rush, I was told the $5 min would be around forever. Looks like I won't be trading in any of my DVDs there. I hope Hollywood Video merges with Movie Gallery, they do some good trade-ins!

Managed to get a pre-order in at GR for the PSP. Now I am trying to find games to trade in to cover some of the cost. Anyone know the recent trade in values for these ?

Metal Gear Solid 3
Crash: Twinsanity (PS2)
Drake
GTA: San Andreas
Bloodrayne (XBOX)
Mafia (XBOX)
ManHunt (XBOX)

Thanks for any help.

I would say wait for next week and teh extra 5 per.

I don't want to get anybody's hopes up or anything, and please have someone else try to confirm this, but a cashier told me today that on march 15th all dvd's would be 2 for $12.99... I have no idea if this is true, he could have just been a dumb-ass. You have been warned, this is only a "i heard from a cashier" rumor...
Hmm...Waffles...lots of people seem to be saying GBA games will work for this but it has been excluded from the OP. Gonna just wait and see?
When Cory first posted this deal, he didn't include GBA games as part of the listing of acceptable titles. Sorry about that. I'll add that and change it to the B2G1 free, since I never changed that from a long time ago.

Is it YMMV for these deals to apply at their regular Blockbuster stores?

There are no Bay Area GR's within a 50 mile radius, but a Blocibuster on every well block.

AFAIK, the pre-orders are only at GR stores but regular BBs have had deals such as trade 3 get and extra $5. Don't know about this time around though.

I overheard our movie side people talking about this...apparently its only for certain DVDs (I'll find out more today)

Damn, I had like 15 DVDs put back that I was going to trade in this week. Just hadn't gotten around to doing it yet. Now that there's no $5 min. they're all probably worth $1 each. That sucks!
Still wondering whether "value software" is PC, GH, and PH games or any games $19.99 or less. Any
body know?
I tested this today with a couple of random titles that weren't on the "list".

IT WORKED. Any pc, gh, or ph will infact work (tested with pc vs and finding nemo, then I tried jak and daxtar and crazy taxi).

So does that mean I can buy 2 $19.99 non-GH games for PS2 for $30? Or do I have to pair one GH game? I'm trying to see if I can get Katamari Damacy & SH: Covenent from this deal.

I think you misunderstoord my question. Is this deal exclusively PC, GH, and PH OR does it work with all games $19.99 and under. For example, could I get Katamari Damacy and Viewtiful Joe 2?

Isn't SHC still 30 at GR? I just bought it like three weeks ago I hope it hasn't dropped 10 more already. :(

Yep, Shadow Hearts Covenant is still $30. I saw something about that DVD deal, only the barcodes I saw were 2 for $12, not $12.99. I don't work until Friday, so if nobody has figured it out by then I'll post the details.

I meant no offense Waffles, just was saying is all.

I got the new trade sheet two days ago and I guess I've gotten lazy, since it doesn't change much...it advertises the Buy 2 Get 1 Free on Pre-Owned Games. Also the larger top portion is about their best trade in value up to $35. Here are the trade prices... (03/08/05):

Thanks....i may trade in SW:RC and Fight Night 2.....I finished SW and LIVE is not that great, plus 480p does nto work.

Fight Night 2 just seems like an average fighter....

Here's a new heads-up:

I've noticed that the "premium" trade values don't always appear right after the game is released. For example, I went to trade in MechAssault 2 two day after purchasing, figuring the trade in should be $30 or $35. They quoted me $25 and I went home without trading. Then when the next flier came out a couple weeks later, it was $35. Fight Night Round 2 is the same situation - right now, the trade in is $30, so I held on a week, and it looks like next week it will be $35. So sometimes a little patience does pay off! I guess someone at HQ has to determine the game's that get the premium values after they are released.

Anyone think $30 for MVP Baseball is going to stick? TRU is selling it for $20 next week and combine it with trade 2, preorder for $30 for a really good deal.
Anyone think $30 for MVP Baseball is going to stick? TRU is selling it for $20 next week and combine it with trade 2, preorder for $30 for a really good deal.
That'd be great. I thought MVP Baseball's MSRP is $30, so they'll probably catch that by then though.

Yeah, my store actually received a memo about the typo on MVP 2005. The trade-in value should read $20, not $30, and it will come up as $20 in the computer.

Just a heads up folks!

I received a call from Gamerush today and was told that they are still taking preorders from 5 PSP to 15. Hurry because they won't last long!

So your telling me if I wait till the 15th I will save 10$ (total) on 2 preorders? (instead of paying 35$ a game it will be 30$ a game)

Also you said I can get a new release or preorder.... Can I actuallly trade in 2 games and get a game the same day for 30$? Because I really want Devil May Cry 3 for 30$, or 35$ If I could do it now....

Thanks I do not post much........

Thanks for the trade in prices Zon. :)

whenever someone gets around could someone comfirm this......

Could I do the trade 2 get a pre-order for 35$ deal and instead of using it on a preorder can I get a game that just came out......

Or is that just for the upcoming deal on the 15th? On the site it says games will be priced at normal if there is no preorder.....

Could someone clear this up thanks.........

Are they allowing trade in of 4 games for the extra $5 per game, and the $30 per new release/preorder? I dont know what the fine print says about limiting number of games traded and bought using the deal, as they could say only 1 preorder per transaction, vice getting 2 with 4 games traded. Hope that makes sense.

yes, the downside to waiting to save the extra 5 bux is that your trade-ins could go down more than the sawbuck
thanks....

Now I just hope Gran Turismo 4 is still 35$ trade in come the 15th......
I doubt that it will drop, since this is a huge game that should last at $35 for awhile.

Unless you mean if you trade in 4 games for the +$5, if you will get $20. Which I think is a yes.

And you should be allowed to trade in up to 20 titles per day if the employee follows the normal rules. So you should be able to preorder/buy 10 games with this deal for $30 each.

These deals aren't suppose to be combinable, btw.

it doesnt seem that games drop more than $5 per week at any rate. Especially the newer games. You could wait on GT4 and make an extra $5 per game, and save and extra $5 per purchased new game.

And to those who have been preordering and cancelling, have you noticed any comments about such activity. Seeing as how you only paid $35 for a $50 game and got $50 back and bought the same game on preorder again for $35. I almost got banned at my store for doing that once, with Halo 2 CE. And I just didnt WANT the game after all that hype. I didnt even have to play the game to notice it wasnt worth the money.

And you should be allowed to trade in up to 20 titles per day if the employee follows the normal rules. So you should be able to preorder/buy 10 games with this deal for $30 each.

These deals aren't suppose to be combinable, btw.
I meant trading in 4 games, getting the extra $20 ($5 per game) and buying 2 new games for $30 each. Now to scrounge up 4 games I wouldnt mind trading in.
