Game Pass

Rent unlimited games for a month. You can have one game (or 2 depending on the pass) out at a time and can return it whenever you want and switch it out as many times as you want.

$21.99 for 1 Game

http://www.gamerush.com/rules_gamepass.php click this link to find out about gamepass at Gamerush.

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

thats possibly the worst game i've ever played. its not worth 5 cents.

OK, I can confirm that GBA Kingdom Hearts CoM is NOT on sale, at least not system wide. It is, however, $19.99 (marked $29.99) but does not come up on sale after total. Also, my GR has not a single used PS2 memory card. They had piles of them back when they had the 50% off accessory sale (and no one knew about that sale except me since they didn't advertize it). They said just last week they boxed up most of their used accessories and sent them to another store. fucking "other" store... Probably one of you bastards in SoCal that had infinite amounts of good thing to choose from at multiple stores :D.

So, in addition to the games I'm still looking for (PoP GC, Bomberman DS), I'm looking for the RED 1st party Sony memory cards - you know, the ones that atr actually new but they sell as used). If anyone wants to trade I can get the games I listed before + Rayman DS which I saw there today.
PS2 single pack 8mb memory card is 14.xx and nyko 50 ft networrk cables are 7.xx
Is this an automatic sale price, or a cashier-adjusted price?? Because just an hour ago when I was in there one of the employees was saying he checked and NEW Sony memory cards are not on sale - if they were he would have bought one. But it is *possible* he didn't bother to scan it and just looked at a list.

It's $19.99 everywhere...it was a universal markdown at all stores.

I took a look at the DS preorder list, and saw the following on there now:

Tao's Adventure (coming out March 21st): $29.99
Mage Knight (didn't catch the release date): $29.99
Brain Training and Big Brain Academy (both $19.99)

I preordered the first two (just did the $5), though I was thinking of Lost Magic when I preordered Mage Knight. I'm not sure if Lost Magic was in there, but I will check next time I'm there. I saw all these games mentioned for the first time in the latest Nintendo Power magazine. They all sound moderately interesting. I may drop a preorder on Brain Training too since it is so cheap.

I want to make sure I put in preorders for some of these DS games because they probably won't get them if I don't (and they still might not get them, but it's worth a shot). Tao's Adventure comes out next week so I might be too late on that one, we'll see...

STILL no New Super Mario Brothers (and I looked personally at the entire list of DS games in their computer).

For you GR/DS fans (I'm looking at you Botticus), here's some links:

Tao's Adventure: http://ds.ign.com/objects/789/789843.html
Lost Magic (a review of the Japanese version): http://www.gamebrink.com/viewitem.php?id=1155&review=116
Mage Knight: http://ds.ign.com/objects/783/783124.html

All are RPG's or strategy RPG's.

Wow, I didn't realize Tao was out so soon, definitely overshadowed by MPH and Tetris... I'll have to re-research that one.

Now I just need some more credit... too bad the fiancee wouldn't let me stop at any Circuit City stores out here in Columbus to find more Red Ninjas.

See, you need to get yourself a kid. My wife will let me run around buying games if I can take 1 of the kids off her hands at the same time. Yesterday evening I went to 2 CC's with my 3 year-old, fed him dinner, and hit GR and a regular BB on the way home :D. Only 1 Red Ninja at each CC though, so I'm not sure it was worth going to those stores, especially as I had to chase my son around (everytime I would stop to look at something he would take off). Ah, but more GR credit (especially at a 37% cash cost) is *always* worth it :D.

Just wanted to give my thanks to CAG, again.I picked up 2 copies of Red Ninja from CC. I turned 20 dollars into 54 dollars in credit at GR. I was going to pick up Oblivion from GR, but I think pick it up at CompUSA for 45 bucks. I'll use the credit for something else. Thanks again.........

io, how do you find the time to game with kids... something we all need to know when we decide its time to go that route.

I scored a copy of Xenosaga II from my local Blockbuster, which goes perfectly with my Xenosaga II guide I got from the same TRU store that was going outta biz where I got the copy of Galleon that I swapped into BB to get the $19 in trade to allow me to grab XS II in the first place.

Man, that was a mouthful, wasn't it?

My local BB also had copies of the ever impressive Driv3r and a couple of the other games from the list.

I checked out the KMart clearance while I was out too this afternoon, nothing of real note to mention from there.

As usual, the bin they put the 50% games into was picked over by the time I got there.

Haha, well, it ended up working out, even without kids. We wanted to meet some friends for dinner in Akron, so we dawdled in Columbus for an extra hour (hit up the Polaris mall). Got two copies of Red Ninja at the CC there, so I'm ready to trade in three copies for $81 over the next two or three days - two copies at my BB and one when I go to GR to pick up MP:H and Tetris. No reason why this one should drop on Tuesday with very minimal abuse.

saweet, time to head out to GR again. I haven't bought anything yet except a gamecube controller.
Why spend so much on the Dualshock2 controllers? The original Dualshock controllers can be had for considerably less (I recall a sale over the summer where BB had them for ~$1-2 or so). The only real difference is that the PS2 version has analog buttons -- in many games the only difference it makes is that you have to press slightly harder for the button to register.
The problem with that is some games require the analog buttons and won't even recgonize a PS1 controller such as Kingdom Hearts

Gamerush trade in question. Do the games you trade in have to be complete? Can you trade in disc only and if there is a difference in trading in complete and not complete. Thanks.
Grabbed a couple of the nice Logitech XBox wireless controllers for $8.50 each after discount today.
How did you get them so cheap - were they used? I found a couple of new ones tonight, but they were stickered at $34.99, and rang up as $17.49.

I trade in cart only and umd only games, they give me the same credit as complete. I would assume its the same for disc only.

I'd also like to know... I picked one up today for $17.49... and I have to say, I freakin' LOVE it! Fits my hands perfectly.

Yes you can just trade in the discs and no there is no difference in price either. I myself sometimes keep the boxes so I can put my gamecrazy discs that I got with only paper sleeves.

Here's a game that's not on the list, and I don't remember seeing it mentioned:

Super Puzzle Fighter II GBA, $7.49 after discount.
Yeah, and I'm none to pleased that you snatched all those Red Ninjas':bomb: I swear, I must of walked in the store just after you ransacked em. Did you go to the NW Expressway and Quail CC's?
sorry dude...there were two left at the NW Expway store that i didn't buy...somebody else may have grabbed those

This was a good deal at $15 considering how hard it is to actually find a copy...I bought one at GR around Christmas for this price...I remember seeing another copy at another GR but can't remember where...might grab it as trade fodder if it's still there next time I'm there.

Yeah, I mentioned this a few pages back - it was on the list my store had faxed from another store, but there wasn't one at my store any more (I know it was there a month or two ago!). Dammit...

Shipwreck must be really busy. I was thinking of compiling a list of games myself but then I realized I needed to deal with other things myself.
io, how do you find the time to game with kids... something we all need to know when we decide its time to go that route.
Well, of course, the kids are the reason I got back into gaming a few years ago after taking 15 years or so off (missed the whole Nintendo/SNES/N64 eras - skipped right from Colecovision to Gamecube). We got the kids a Gamecube Christmas 2003 and then a PS2 about a year ago. Couple that with CAG and GR and I have an ENORMOUS stack of games I have yet to even open, let alone play. I play alot of games with the kids in the evening (we basically don't watch TV ever, just play games instead). We play through all the Mario titles, Zelda WW, and more recently Chibi-Robo.

I don't really have that much time to play games by myself, but I am in a unique situation that gives me a little time each day. I work from home except when I'm travelling to the East Coast. So I can stay up late after the kids are in bed and play games like DQ8, or Fire Emblem (which I just finished last night!). I play the DS mostly when I'm travelling, but haven't gone on a trip since Jan so I'm behind on those games as well :D. And I don't play my PSP at all!

It seems, anyway, that I spend more time on this site and hunting down cheap games than actually playing them . My wife would agree with that assessment.

I think YMMV on that. I know my store put up signs at one point that they had to contain the case.....not sure if they actually enforced that or not though.
I think YMMV on that. So it shouldn't be YMMV, but everyone should get full value for disc only games

Traded in two of my Red Ninjas at my BB today for $54... I'm gonna have to stay away from that one during the afternoon hours. Manager gave me a wink and asked if I tended to buy games on sale to trade in, "just kidding." She doesn't seem to care, but I'd rather not get a reputation if I can avoid it.
thats possibly the worst game i've ever played. its not worth 5 cents.
I loved it on the Dreamcast. I picked it up for PS2 but haven't played it yet.

I went to a Blockbuster I had never been to before and one guy had to "train" the other in how to take game trades. He specifically told him that cases and manuals are NOT required - just that the disc be in good shape. Of course, my Red Ninja was in *excellent* adult-owned condition :D.

Well, you traded in 2 at once - that always raises suspicion, whether they care or not :D. Though it sounds like that manager may have even known of CAG (?). I have one more Red Ninja and I don't feel like driving 20 miles round trip to the other BB just for that, so I might trade it in locally even though I did one a few days ago there. Hopefully I get different people, or they just don't remember what I traded before (this BB has all teenage girls working there - I don't think they care too much).

I haven't traded one Red Ninja into the GR though - I'm really not trading there at all any more, still waiting for some sort of trade-in deal . I'm too chatty with the people that work there and they know I don't have an Xbox, so I didn't want to bring an Xbox game in. Plus they often ask me if I liked the games I was trading - I couldn't always answer that :D. And I don't want to get into the "I'm trading it for my brother-in-law" excuse too often.

"I find a lot of cheap games. Some of them suck, and others I dont even play. That's why im here trading them in"

That's my motto at GR

Ha... I've had to sit there for an employee to get trained in game trade-ins a number of times, today being one of them. I think she was just wise to the fact that making money on them can be done.

I will be calling up GR soon here just on the 1% chance (or is it 0%?) that they have Metroid and Tetris on the street date; and will trade in a third copy of Red Ninja in one day (oh no! - actually I did it before with D2R2 at two locations, not too worried about it). Otherwise I'll just be waiting till they hopefully have those games in tomorrow.

And io, my best excuse is the "friend" one. My "friend" just happens to have an identical game library to mine, and doesn't want to bother opening a trading account, so he gives all the games to me to trade for him.

They don't have to remember, as soon as they scan your card, your recent trades show up on their screen, so there's really no point in trying to be sneaky about it.

Yep, that's true. Up to 90 days worth of trade-ins are right there at the employees finger tips.

Yeah, but does it pop right up, or do they have to look through pages of your account history? The reason I ask is that at GR, anyway, the new employees are always surprised when they bring up my account - because what they (apparently) see is a list of all the preorders I have. So that might hide my recent trade-in history, unless they care to go looking ("page down" or whatever). But like I said I don't trade in much to GR anyway, as I know them too well (and vice versa) and don't want to draw too much attention to my trades (on the other hand I was very vocal with my many purchases last week - they were happy I was taking all that clearance stuff off their hands).

But at my local BB I'm sure my last Red Ninja trade will show up first thing. I just have to wonder if that is worth worrying about, or if I want to waste an hour driving to another city to trade my last one. A third possibility is that I could wait until other errands take me near a BB I haven't traded at yet, which won't be till later in the week. In that case I need to worry about a price drop in the mean time? Hmmm, what to do... I'm leaning towards just going local and not worrying about it.

Is trading at a BB same as GR? They make you fill out the trade waiver .. right? Any chance they try to stop you from trading in games?

Ha, yeah... last time I was in at GR the guy was like "Cool, you've got Metroid Prime Hunters preordered... Tetris, Odama." Then proceeded to tell me how excited he was about Worms, which is one of the few DS games I've been able to brush off till it's cheap.

I just called my GR........I know they have morons that work at this one, but this guy is a complete idiot. He tells me that they will be getting the RENTAL copies before the sale copies, and that I should have my game by the 27... I wish the other GR people would let these guys know whats really going on, and why I hate calling GR to find out information about games.

Yeah... one of the two employees who actually knows their shit at GR just told me on the phone that Metroid and Tetris will be in on Friday. No kiddin... Guess I'll be calling again tomorrow.

Any word if GR will be getting any copies of Tao for DS? Far too late to preorder, so I'll have to hope at least one copy will come in. Unless it inexplicably goes on sale somewhere else.

I preordered it (just a few days ago, so it probably won't effect how many copies they get - which is hopefully at least 1), and now I'm headed out of town. I just made a last minute impulse frequent flier plane ticket purchase - going to Tucson at 8pm tonight, just reserved the ticket at 1pm. I've never done anything like that. I'm gonna check out some BB's down there and see if they have anything from the sale (not expecting much). And no, I'm not going down there for that reason :D. Like last time I went down there and didn't have email access for a week, I'll probably miss some huge CAG deal (missed most of the TRU markdowns in Dec).

The relevant issue here is that I will have to call GR 2 or 3 times this week and make sure THEY fucking HOLD ON to my games and don't sell them to someone else! I preordered Tao, but I'm not expecting to get that - but Metroid Hunters, Katamari, etc, they better hold for me!

Just for shits, I will go in there this week and see if I can buy your reserved copies:)
