Current Trade-In Deals

Trade in 2 games, preorder any game for 29.99!! (July 19th - ??)

Restrictions and rules below:
Alright, I read the map today and here's some stuff on the new deal:

- As has been said, it starts on July 19th. I cannot remember offhand the date that it ends.

- Trade any 2 games, get any preorder for $29.99. I forgot to check if XBox 360 games are included in the deal, but as most people have already stated, I highly doubt it.

- The two games that are traded in for the deal must retail for at least $7.99 each (preowned price).

- The credit can still be applied towards the $29.99.

Game Pass

Rent unlimited games for a month. You can have one game (or 2 depending on the pass) out at a time and can return it whenever you want and switch it out as many times as you want.

1 out = $14.99 the first month....$19.99 thereafter

2 out = $24.99 the first month...$29.99 thereafter

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

$0.99 Retro Games

All Dreamcast, Snes, Genesis, and Nes games are $0.99. Games available depend on which store you go to. Games may not be marked as $0.99, but they will ring up that price. Trade in value of all games on these systems is now $0.25.

Sweet! Keep us updated. I pre-ordered Full Auto for the X360 back when it was $49.99 with the trade 2 for 1 deal. Now its $59.99 wonder if they'll make me pay the diffrence.

PS. When I preordered this game, they told me that they werent officially preordering for them but I could try it and see what happens.

Well, Atleast someone cares. I'll see what I can do on the Game List. May take a few days, there are lots :).

Hey, be extremely careful what you say and do on here. I was recently suspended from work, for posting, even though I was promoting the deals.

Hide any personal information you can, as a DL/Loss prevention could take your profile birthdate, combine that with France in your location, and find out who you are and what store.

I know you may be trying to help but corporate will not approve.

we should start up a new game called "make up a deal at gamerush and pretend its real" this would spice up the thread and get it back to the once glorious thread it was.

My gamerush is currently offering trade in any sports title from 2004 and below and reserve any 2 games for free, its a decent deal.

today i traded in nhl 95 for the snes (10 cents at gamestop! score! does this count as flipping??) and reserved zelda: twilight princess and gta liberty city stories!! I love this deal!

Related question:

I took advantage of this sale to get some Cube games. 2 of them were in Blockbuster cases (which don't have clips to hold instruction booklets, and have "Blockbuster" embossed all over). Does anyone know where I could get real Gamecube cases, aside from buying two cheap games that I don't want?

If you got them at Blockbuster/Gamerush see if they'll let you swap with the rental gamecube cases.

What I've been doing is swapping the BB cases with games I am going to trade in. Once I did buy a cheapy game to trade in strictly for the case - it was a double-disc PS2 case that I needed so I found a 2-disc game that (at the time) got me an even money trade (Ribbit King).

Since my trades are slowing down now, what I'm trying to do is ask for some cases when I'm in BB or GR (even though I don't specifically have a used game I need them for right now). They tend to throw out the game cases they get from trades (since they put almost everything in BB cases). I once saw them haul a HUGE gargabe bag full of cases out of the store (to the trash can), so they will give them to you if they have any laying around - it doesn't hurt to ask. Just say you want a real GC case for some game you bought a few days ago. Often they can't find any, but they will have them around sometimes. When I traded in a KOF:MI the other day I swapped both new cases out for 2 older PS2 cases I got from GR. Now I have 2 minty-fresh cases for the next used games I buy there. I need to get some GC ones as well though.

And to DevComm - take everyone's advice and hide your personal info a bit more. We have no idea why, but Blockbuster corporate thinks employees who promote the deals and bring more business into their stores are evil. :D. Oh no, can't have that Xbox360 preorder list out there for people to look at and consider putting deposits down, or, for heaven's sake, PAYING FOR THEM IN FULL several months in advance. Can't have any of that :D. Bad for business apparently.

Here's a tip if you wish to share BB/GR deal information without risk of losing yor job. Type up whatever the deal is, and PM the OP of this thread. I am sure he will glady add it here, and post its from a 'special soruce'.

From what they told (accused) me was that it helps the competition and they think its getting into the wrong hands.

That works for me.

I don't work for Blockbuster / GR, and I never will, so I have no problem posting deals from GR members that wish to stay anonymous.
From what they told (accused) me was that it helps the competition and they think its getting into the wrong hands.
Yeah, I was going to add that bit as well, but it is just such bizarre thinking I can't quite figure out what to say about it :D. Can't really see how the competition benefitted from the couple of deals you posted a few days early (like the 50% off Nintendo sale). What, exactly, could Gamecrazy or EB or whoever have done with that info? I have no idea. Maybe matched it or had a 60% off sale, but they didn't do that...
From what they told (accused) me was that it helps the competition and they think its getting into the wrong hands.
Which is pretty funny considering EB/Gamestop/Game Crazy do not even consider Game Rush a 'threat' but more of a joke. No deal GR has offered has ever been cuntered by any of the 3 stores. The deal last week (Buy5Get5) was simply to clear stock. I really don't think we will be seeing any other 'great' deals for a long time. Sure, the Trade 2 get a new/pre-order for $30 will come back, but thats not an earth-shattering deal. Its great, but its not gonna make me a regular customer. I would much rather goto a Game Crazy or EB where it won't take 30 minutes to do a trade-in, and for the most part,l the employees know WTF is going on promotion wise (instead of having to explain what MAP to look at).

I would hope not......................at least not publicly. ;)

LOL this is the best part, that I (and many of us here) know how to work at Gamerush better than any of the actual Gamerush employees.

You also forgot to mention that EB and Gamestop are generally organized... Gamerush always looks like a bomb went off inside of it.

I sincerely hope Blockbuster / Gamerush management looks at these posts - maybe they'd stop treating the store as a side project and instead give it the time and effort it deserves.

I've only seen ONE Gamerush out of three that has actually used the Gamerush desk - one Blockbuster just uses it to pile crap on it and does all the trade in's on the Blockbuster side, and another one nobody has EVER worked there in all the times I've been there.

BB does not care. Its that simple. They would rather fire an awesome employee like Cory who did nothing but try and help out their business. I would love nothing more then for GR to go out. The deals may be great, but its just a disgusting place to shop at. There selection of new games is 1/5th of an EBGames, and there used is 45 copies of the same damn game. They need to start transfering rentals to used FASTER, to actually get sales, instead of when the game drops to $30. Oh well.

I went to blockbuster today and picked up a used wavebird controller for $10 with the 50% off sale and also picked up a new hip gear battery pack for the wavebird for only $0.99. I didn't see it posted before about the battery pack.

Its been posted for about 3 weeks. Be aware, the battery is crap. I have had two stay 'charged' for 3 minutes (and thats with leaving them plugged into the AC Adapter for 9 hours).

anyone know the current (tuesday July 5th or later) trade-in prices for the following:

xbox powerdrome
xbox lord of the rings: return of the king
ps2 project snowblind
ps2 nightmare druaga
ps2 king of fighters maximum impact collector's edition

i know recent prices have been posted but i was curious if anyone has traded these in the last day

Yeah, I bought 3 of them and none of them work at all - they go back today to get my $2.97 credit back :D. 2 of the 3 have noticeable battery leakage/corrosion.

I did KOF:MI for PS2 just yesterday and if it is the entire collector's edition it fetches $16. Just $14 if you do the game itself, only, though.

My price check from LAST week had Project Snowbliind PS2 at $11 - so expect that or even less. Don't know about the rest. Isn't Druaga at $14 now?

I, too, am curious about Powerdrome, but I'd like the price of the PS2 version. I will ask when I'm in there this evening.

You know what else would actually help them profit, is to do their damn research when it comes to trade in prices.

Only a moron would offer $20 dollars for Nightmare of Druaga, or $25 for KoF: Maximum Impact (espically when the game retails for $30?).

Then they turn around and charge 30 something used for Druaga and 40 for KoF? How do they expect those to ever leave the store? And don't forget how they refuse to get games from some publishers (Atlus) yet offer preorders for them in the store? Someone told me you could preorder Riviera there... what's the point?

And before anyone asks why I shop there if I severly dislike it - I know that by taking advantage of these insane deals, the company is making 0 money off of me. I paid 21 for Meteos... Blockbuster probably paid 23-25 a copy. I'm still holding out hope they'll clean up their act - I'm starting to doubt it at this point.

I can't wait for the Gamerush clearance sales because they are closing up shop.

You nailed it pefectly. The ONLY reason I would EVER goto BB/GR is for the deals. I would never say "Hey, a new Xbox game came out, Im gonna goto GR!". HELL NO. I would rather goto Target.

I threw out my recipts...so no luck taking them back at all. Oh well. I can always use the AC Adapters...I think.

if you bought them on your account, you dont really need a receipt. i too dont know where my receipt is so I am going to test the three that I bought and see if they are worth keeping or returning.
if you bought them on your account, you dont really need a receipt. i too dont know where my receipt is so I am going to test the three that I bought and see if they are worth keeping or returning.
Yeah, I was about to tell gizmo the same thing. I bought on the account, AND I just found the receipts. Anyway, the POS batteries - 2 won't even work WITH the AC adapter plugged in. I'm keeping the 3rd for now - maybe I can still use it in an emergency if my normal rechargables run out. I can use the Wavebird with it plugged into an outlet anyway.

To Roufuss - I hope GR doesn't go under because I have several fully-paid for preorders for games that have recently been put off until 2006 (like I just heard about FF XII). A bunch of my preorders should come in during the Oct/Nov period, and I assume GR will still be around then. After the end of the year, though, who knows... Hopefully I'd be able to use the credit from the preorders at the great store closing clearance event :D. I just hope they don't shut them down without notice.

And besides, I really do like their deals, and I've even found some excellent condition used games there. The store I go to is fairly organized - better than EB or Gamestop in my opinion (most of which are filthy and crowded, being in malls). However, you are right about the "Gamerush desk" - it is used for storage :D. But I figured that out the very first time I went there and stood at it for 3 minutes with no one helping me - then I went to the regular line.

One time the clerk offered to do the purchase through my account - I told her no thank you, because with Blockbuster being ban happy I don't want ANYTHING linked to my account that dosen't have to be there.

I like their deals, but people around here just use Gamerush as a dumping ground for their old crap - one store has about 8 Echo Night Beyond's, a ton of Best Buy's games that were free after the $5 dollar coupon, a ton of Nightmare of Druaga's, along with a ton of other shit.

Nobody knows they exist except for the people abusing them, and they don't seem to want to alleivate that. I've heard a few radio ad's for Gamerush... but cmon, radio? If they advertised some of these awesome deals, they'd get a ton of business - how come the 30% off Nintendo games wasn't in the Sunday newspaper in areas where a Gamerush was? Perfect advertising.

And I've been VERY leery of ever putting a preorder through them... the trade in system is broke enough as it is, plus they get games (around here) LATER than everyone else. Why preorder through Gamerush when every other store gets it earlier?

Don't even get me started on the excluding of certain titles by publishers, either.

The only reason I type this is because we all know GR / BB people lurk and read this - maybe someone will take it to heart and bring up some of these ideas sometime.
what is this news on the FFXII game? I have 2 on preorder, 1 for me and 1 for my friend.
It was mentioned in the latest EGM - pushed to mid 2006 or something... Found it - it was mentioned in their "Opinionated Guide to What's Next" in the Auguts issue, under the Dragon Quest VIII entry: "With Final Fantasy XII pushed into mid-2006, DQ8 should easily grab the RPG crown this fall." They mention it sort of off-hand like we all knew this already. It was news to me, and apparently, to you as well :D. The good news is you can preorder DQ8 at GR (I already have).

I fully understand your reasoning there. However, I tend to want my purchases to go on the account - that way, at least, they can see that I'm using my credit on things in their store. I figure that's a good thing if they ever want to review my trading/purchasing history.

besides, they know me so well there that they tend to pull up my account before I even have a chance to get my card out :D.

Keep in mind, BB can track purchases through a gift card as well.

Store number is on the rental movies

I beleive it goes 02STORENUMBER/COPYNUMBER ?

Its been a while.

That goes to the Nintendo store. They sell them in packages of one, five, and ten. I ordered some with my component cables a few months ago. Shipping is pretty fast, despite what they say on the site.

In case the URL doesn't work (it was originally like ten lines long), just try http://store.nintendo.com and follow the links.

*2* then the store number. you need the 5 numbers after the 2.

Oh and much thanks to Cory and everyone for informing me that BB watches the thread. Definitely don't need to lose my job over something rediculous like that. They tell us to get a certain amount of preorders per day..and people knowing some information about 360 titles would probably generate tons of preorders. I'll post that list this evening (Thursday) by the way.

The GR stores in this area are pretty well maintained as well but you have to understand that it's not always the company, or the employees. When say 5,000 people come into a GR store on any given day, and alot of them go look for games, pull them out, then decide they dont want this one or that one, and they stick it back in the rack out of place. If BB had employees reorganizing they're preowned racks everyday, they would get nothing else done. I don't know about some of these other stores but my GR has anywhere from 5 - 10,000 used titles. Alot of them ARE duplicates as many of you have stated, and that is mainly due to the fact that GR lacks an exclusion list. That's why you see stores with 20 copies or more of the shittiest games.

Well that said I think I commented on pretty much everything since my last post. I'm amazed at how fast people are posting here. 7 hours at work and already 2 pages of posts.

Is it just me or has this thread turned into a GR bashing forum?

I for one hope Gamerush sticks around. They pulled their latest deals early, but I hope they come out with some more in the future. I like the fact that when I buy a "New" game from GR it is sealed. Most of the "New" games at GS/EB have been opened for displays.

Plus I have found equal amounts of uninformed employees at all three establishments. When I can deal with the GR staff and not the BB staff it is usually quick and painless. I pretty much count on taking 30 minutes to do a transaction no matter what game store I go into.

Also, the pre-order for $29.99 is a really good deal IMHO. Especially if you get some good value for your trades.

Due to this site, I typically know more about all the current deals when i walk into a gamestore than the employees working there.

I picked up my reserved copy of Killer 7 today. Don't forget to remind them that it comes with a free t-shirt. The t-shirt isn't too bad, but I would have preferred a non-white t-shirt.
