Picked up MK: Shaolin Monks today and asked about Ultimate Spiderman. She told me that it has a release date of next week. The weird part was the DS version was on the shelf.

Could be worse... I'm still waiting on the release of the GC version of Lockdown (estimated 21 days after PS2/XB)

I swapped a preorder last night without a problem, well there was a small problem... I was not called about a preorder that came in months ago, and I had forgot about it. GR was actually calling me for a brief period. I wonder how many other people have forgot about preorders ?

Sigh.. that's what I've heard, unfortunately (sad cause Rogue Spear is one of my all-time fun games to play). I suppose since I have the opportunity I could switch my preorder to Mario DDR or something along those lines. I'm pretty sure Lockdown will drop to $20 pretty quick anyway. Guess I'll do that today or tomorrow when I head down to hopefully pick up X-Men.
 
I tried to pre-order mario DDR and they wouldn't let me. They wouldn't let me pay the extra $10 and then they said it wouldn't process becuase it came with a controller and was considered an accessory. The same thing happened when I tried to pre-order Donkey Konga. I tried at 3 different Gamerushes too, southgate, brighton, and Wixom MI

Maybe Dr. Frielgood could give us the word on the subject ...?

Hmm... its priced at 59.99?

Edit: Just called up, they have my X-Men preorder in, I'll see what happens in regards to switching Lockdown to Mario DDR either this evening or tomorrow.
 
Has anyone else preordered Indigo Prophecy? I went to pick it up today, it wasn't there and I found out that their system shows they will only have 2 rental copies coming in and none for retail. Also Kingdom Under Fire: Heroes & Battalion Wars weren't there, but they have retail copies scheduled coming in later this week.

They had about just every other preorder though: Mortal Kombat, Marvel Nemesis, X-men, Tiger Woods, Ninja Gaiden Black and a stack of PSP games but I didn't see the cover.

Interesting - as far as I know, I haven't forgotten any. But it's not like they would let me know if I did :D... It was getting so confusing with all the preorder receipts that I actually made a spreadsheet with all my preorders on it and the release dates from EB's web site (which I think is a bit more accurate than what GR says). I try to get them as soon as I can. I was out of town when Burnout Legends and Revenge came out and when I finally went in they couldn't find my copies (that they claimed they put aside) so they had to pull some off the shelves. It was no problem for those games, but on some where they may not get many (like Battalion Wars) they could very well have sold my copy, and not get more in for a while. I think the problem is that they have so many employees working there that while some may be aware of preorders and who they go to, others don't and will sell or put your games on the racks.

I was able to preorder DDR Mario fine a few weeks ago. I was worried about the "accessory" issue at the time because I was unable to get a Donkey Konga w/Bongos back when you could do the Trade 2 get any new game for $29.99. Maybe GR just modified the code in their system this week to reflect DDR Mario being an "accessory" game? Why that matters I have no idea, as long as it is a $49.99 game... But then you are talking about paying an extra $10? Did it ring up $59.99? When I preordered it was $49.99.
 
I picked up my Madden PSP today, also rented MK:Monks

I didn't ask about 360 games because she was rather busy and I'd figure someone here will know if they have the $50 games yet.

I do the same exact thing :cool: , but I use word and have it organized by Ebgames.com release dates. I try to update it every Tuesday night.
 
Wow, I can't believe you guys have that much money to FORGET preorders and have enough money to get so many! I wish I had the privelege of forgetting preorders! I have Fire Emblem: PoR and RE4 for PS2 on preorder and that's it. I've only preordered 2 other games from them, IIRC. Jade Empire: LE and Burnout: Revenge. I like GR though! :D

It's all about building up credit. Some people have 20+ pre-orders. I'm at around 12 right now. I plan to only pre-order XBOX360 games now (or a few PSP), but no 360 deals yet. And I cannot cancel XBOX pre-orders and swap them to 360
 
I don't have any games left to build up credit with. I feel like an idiot. I got rid of about 20-25 games without using a deal... I just plainly traded them in....at GAMESTOP! I was such an idiot with my video games when I was like 12... I should have come here then! :(

Didn't you say you were 15 or something NOW? Is there really that much difference between 12 and 15, I forget. :) I certainly didn't know about such things back then - but then again, there was no Internet and I don't think stores dealt with used Atari/Colecovision games :D.

As doubledown says, it's all about the credit. That being said, I HAVE spent a good deal of cash on the trade-in fodder, so while my cost per game is pretty low, I've still spent a ton. I've sold off a few of the games I've preordered and that helps defray the cost a bit. That's really the only reason I would bother selling them.

By they way, as I was sitting here earlier typing about GR preorders, EB called and told me my Katamari was ready for pickup. No call from GR about Battalion Wars yet of course. I'll risk a call later today :D. When I called yesterday I knew it was no good because I heard her typing away when I asked - not looking for the actual game but probably checking the release date/inventory in the computer, which of course showed 0 copies in with a release on Friday.

I'm just giving you a hard time... No, I have to admit I wouldn't have thought you were 15 - 17 maybe, but not 15 :D. Your birthday present is a bunch of tips on cheap games deals, the GR preorder list, and GR trade-in prices. You're welcome.

I tried to pre-order Indigo Prophecy a few weeks ago, and my GR manager told me corporate hadn't ordered any. I think we're all out of luck on that one.

Literally my exact experience :( They haven't received it, only show 2 rentals coming in even though I preordered it... so this means we'll only have $30 credit now? Very disappointing. Since it's their error, maybe I can convince them to give $40 credit?

The most preorders I ever had was 24 along with around $400 in credit, but most of the games I traded weren't mine. That was when I was deep into buying and selling for profits. I only have NG:Black, BF2:MC, Far Cry, Oblivion, Kameo, Call of Duty:Big Red One, Call of Duty 2, Zelda, Gears of War, and Quake 4. Since I sold my xbox and DS, there were no more current gen games left for me to PO.

you can switch the pre-order and get a 50 dollar game, i just had to do the same today with moto gp 3 (which unlike indigo prophecy actually did come out weeks ago when scheduled), i just took a look at the new games they got in today and said cancel moto gp 3 and give me madden 06 psp and they were cool

if you push them, they might still get it in (i know that the manager of my GR pre-ordered indigo prophecy and they told him that it would be coming in) -- i just think it's not worth the wait because by the time you get it, the trade-in value may be crappy (and if you don't like it, that's kind of a big deal to not have the quick trade-in for max value option)

i had dinner with morgan webb tonite (well, does it count if she and i were both eating 5 feet from each other) :)

I'm planning to pre-order Mario Kart DS and Animal Crossing DS. Does Gamerush usually get their pre-orders on time? The only game I ever pre-ordered was Halo 2 at GameStop.

Not really. Based on their system they have all new releases coming out the Friday of the week it is suppose to come out so you have to check at the store if they get it in before Friday of the week the game is suppose to come out.

They've always been pretty good with games for me, the only time I couldn't get a game on the day it came out was MGS3 it came in like 2 days later, wasn't that big of a deal to me.

Edit: $8 each, lunch is fun to waste time calling places.

Anyone ever heard of GR changing values based on the condition of the game? When I asked to check trade-in values, he said he could tell me the list, but it migth be different depending on him looking at the game. That just mean I'll get less without a manual or whatnot?

No, but maybe he meant that they might not take them and didn't want to promise you a price - they'd only take 1 or something, so the price would be "different".

I dunno... By the way, Call of Duty: HF gets $6 at EB (so $11 with the bonus).

True enough... You can find plenty of trade-in items at TRU though. I'm trying to stay away from trading at GR for a bit, so the EB deal is a nice fallback. It ends the last day of September anyway, so I'm trying to finish that up (though much of that depends on if TRU really hits 70% next Tuesday).

Yeah, I haven't traded much at all lately, just complained about not finding stuff. So if I can get CoD and MK: DA to trade today when I pick up X-Men, that'll take care of October (preorder Fire Emblem, and hopefully switch Lockdown to Mario DDR).

And yeah, if I went the EB route I could probably find plenty of $5 games at TRU that I would at least break even on, which is good since I've pretty much cleaned them out of any other worthwhile titles.

Picked up my pre-order of Xmen Legends II for Xbox yesterday on the way home...

I asked about Spiderman on Wednesday and they told me that it does not have a release date until next week (9/27). But hopefully they will get it tomorrow, but this is GR...
 
Anyone know when GR would have the 2GB memory duo for PSP?

Sandisk is supposed to release them 9/22 but not so sure..

also the price if anyone knows..
 
Good trip to GR this evening:

Picked up my X-Men preorder with minimal delay. Then the manager took over (an anonymous fellow CAG, from what I understand). Switched my Lockdown preorder to DDR Mario Mix (no issues there, came up at 49.99, no accessory complications), and traded in Call of Duty: Finest Hour ($8) and Iridion 2 ($10) for Fire Emblem, in a matter of 5 minutes. Should be set through the next month of preorders.
 
Can I preorder more than 1 game at a time?

And can someone do me a favor and let me know if anyof these titles are worth more than 7.99?

I think all of those are except Socom and ESPN 2K5, but I could be wrong. Also, yes you can preorder more than one game at a time.
