ok, ok. i think they are beginning to take action on the D2RII. two stores told me that they are not taking them back anymore. but that they are $27 & $19.

I would think so too except that TRU, Best Buy, Circuit City, K-Mart, Wal-Mart, Target, pretty much every other retailer has got these games for sale.

Hurricane Wilma was just a speck in the dust last week, so that dosen't account as to why last week's games still aren't in. The GR told me that a local Blockbuster down the street had DBZ for sale though =/

I think if GTA isn't in tommorrow, I'm going to just buy it from Best Buy for full price, and use my $50 in credit to just get something else and be done with them. I wanted to enjoy this game on my day off, but apparently it's not going to happen.
 
Not a good day but not that bad any way!!!

Brought in D2R2 PS2, D2R2 XBOX, Xenosaga II PS2, Nightmare of Druaga PS2
Cashier told me that he can only take one D2R2 so I gave him the Xbox one.
He scans and told me:
D2R2 XBOX at $20
Nightmare of Druaga PS2 at $19
Xenosaga II PS2 at $6

I took back the Xenosaga II and pre-order Dragon Quest VIII.

About 1 PM here in CA

So both dropped.

On the new DBZ game, they got their rental copies, but no sale copies. They have a release date for tomorrow, but I doubt it.

Soul Calibur 3 is in. Still no GTA:LCS at any GR (I called 3 different ones).

GR is just so random. I am just glad I get new games for under $10, and I can wait 3-4 days until they are released. I have still not opened SOCOM 3, Shadow of Colossus, and Fire Emblem, while I play NG:Black and Stubbs.
 
From what I've seen and heard, GR do get their games on time. The thing is that they dont take the time to scan/log them into their system, this is what causes the "delays" most of the time. If they took the time to check in their games as good as they did with new movie releases everyone would be happier. I'm not in it for the prompt relase dates, what matters most are the deals....even though i do bitch about delays from time to time
 
Looks like I barely got in w/the $27 trade-in value, then. I bought 3 copies of DTR2 at TRU for $20 and another at BB for $15 on Tuesday night. Traded 2 in at one location for DQ8 and another 2 at a different location for SCIII, which I suprisingly was still able to pre-order (the list said release date was the 25th).

Used the leftover credit to get Metroid Pinball which RULES! Still have $14 credit leftover, too. Bout to call GR and see if SCIII came in today.
 
Ugh, yeah... Xenosaga 2 is now $6 everywhere. Checked it at BB before trading it in at GR. So took a bit of a loss on that one, $16.50 for D2R2 (PS2) and $13.50 for Tron. Looks like Tron is gonna have to be my moneymaker as well, since some jackass took the rest of the copies of D2R2 from TRU. Half dozen display boxes left, zero copies in the store. They're all trying to thwart my "Botticus funds his red Nintendo DS" plan. If I get three copies of Tron next time I'm in TRU, those will trade in for... $40.50. Giving me $54.50 on my card and $100 in gift cards. I guess I can eat the remaining cost after taxes in cash. I suppose ~$70 for a DS + Mario Kart DS really isn't too bad.

And this was all made better by getting DDR Mario Mix. The big box makes me happy.

Any GR employees... my friendly GR manager (always a pleasure to work with) said the DS bundle wasn't in their current map, but they're getting a new one this week. Would an end of November release get put in that new one?

By the way, as implied by my previous statement, yes, you can buy gift cards with your credit/value card. Got four of them at $25 each.
 
Man, I sure hope this does not happen for Star Wars: Battlefront II. My friends and I were planning on picking up Episode III on DVD, watching it, then playing Battlefront II all day.

I'm actually not that angry about GTA: LCS coming in late, since I got such a good deal on it. Right now Fable is consuming my life anyway, so I don't even think about it half the time. :)

I got my Soul Calibur 3 and Resident Evil 4 today. That ada figurine is tiny, the guy gave me two of them though, that was sweet. I just cancelled my Battlefield 2 preorder today, I wasn't really sure if I wanted it and since it still wasn't in I just switched the preorder to wild arms alter code: f

WOOHOO finally got lucky at TRU went in last night with hardly no time to look and struck out. Went back today and 2 copies of D2R2 xbox and 1 copy of Xenosaga 2 PS2 for $21.14.

Also went in 3rds with a couple friends and bought BF2:MC, I'll just get my preorder changed to store credit and use it for a 360 game... This is a good start towards $ for 360 stuff.
 
can they refuse to take dead to right II for trade? I'm planning to trade the last one tonight.. and don't want to be refused by them.. they are very friendly and nice people at my gamerush.. it would be strange if they not take my game.. kinda embarassing..? is this widespred denial? thanx

They can deny whatever they want. Only people who have been denied so far I think are people trading in multiple copies. If you get denied, lose a few bucks and hit up a random Blockbuster. My GR manager had no issue with my trade.

Although, it seems that the trades for GR and regular BBs are the same now.

You should. I got $16.50 for the PS2 version, quoted the same at both stores. I'm still bitter about the $6 for Xenosaga though.
 
I picked up my Resident Evil 4 preorder for PS2 today. Still no BF2: MC for XBox at the Farmington store either, only the PS2 version has come in. >.< RE4 is amazing, now I know what all the fuss was about. :D If they don't get BF2:MC in tomorrow, I swear I'm kicking over something in the store. And yes, the Ada figurine is 3'' tall. XD It's still kinda neat though...and free. :happy: All I'm waiting for now is BF2. I've picked up Socom 3, FE:poR, and RE4 in the last 3 weeks. Amazing. :D Do you think they'll ever get in the XB version of BF2, because why would they receive the PS2 version and not the XB one if they both come from the same place at the same time. :sad:
 
Uhm, at the location here (and according to the website) its not trade in any game. Its trade in any non-sports game with a sell value of $7.99 or more.

BTW: Metal Gear Solid 2, Barbarian (PS2) & Batman: Dark Tomorrow (XBX) are worth $7.99 so they work for the trade two get p/o for $29.99. (and they only cost about $2.99 each at GS/EB)
 
The 2 Game Rushs in Glendale, CA are no longer taking Dead to Rights 2 (Xbox).
I tried trading 2 copies at each Game Rush, but was rejected.

Im assuming the PS2 version will also not be accepted.
 
somehow I can't preorder Metroid Prime Hunter for DS.. so i had to order Black and White DS instead.. , how can I help them to find it in their system? I think io said that Prime hunter should be there long time ago isn't it? thanx

Yes, it is there - it is listed as "Metriod Prime Hunters" on my receipt - note the misspelled Metroid. I have mentioned this before :D. That might be what's tripping them up - though, really, there aren't that many DS games so if they bring up the M's they should be able to find it pretty easily (they have let me look through ALL the DS games on their computer before - takes no more than a minute or two).

I got $20 for D2R2 (Xbox) and $13.50 for Tron at a regular BB tonight. I also went to a TRU that has at least 10-15 copies of D2R2 but didn't buy any more - I'm pushing it with the number I have done and still have to do... I did return a Xenosaga II there and got the full $9.97 for it even though I used it as part of a Buy2Get1... Just used the normal receipt too - I was expecting only $6.65 back.

Oh, and NO Ratchet Deadlocked at GR today, though they did have it at TRU.

I share your reluctancy in doing the DtR2 trade in as well. I have done it 4 times w/8 copies and everytime I do it, I get more and more dirty looks, eye-rolls and sighs. I don't need to buy anymore games, anyways. I figure I need to start saving for the 360, sooner or later.

Picked up Soul Calibur III today, after they actually, would you believe it, CALLED me to lemme know it was in. Must have been over-staffed or something. I would have pre-ordered RE4 but I wanted the Premium Edition. Besides, I put down $10 on it @ EB when it was announced. Got a pleasant surprise when I went to pay it off, tonight. A $10 rebate spit out when the cashier rang it up. So in essence, I got the PE for the same price as the standard version. I can't complain.

Ha, this is actually helping me save for my DS. Assuming they get it in next month. I was going to trade in one more set, but now that they're all sold out, I'm fine moving on to Tron 2.0.

Luckily for me, every time I've traded in copies, it's been to a different cashier at one of my two BBs, so no one has really cared too much.

As far as I know. Best way to tell is to see if they have the big board up front with the most-wanted trade-in games/values.
 
Checked my GameRush again today after two days of being told that Battlefield 2 for Xbox should be in "tomorrow" and was again told that it wasn't in.

After expressing my frustration that every other store had it in, the clerk said "Honestly, Blockbuster seems to be having some problems with publishers and it's sometimes taking weeks to get in new games. If there's a game that you really want the day it comes out, I'd order it somewhere else."

Hope someone from GameRush is monitoring this thread because if this trend continues, your store is going to go down in flames with everyone returning to more reliable sources.

Deals are great but the frustration of waiting is not.

And also to the Blockbuster person who reads this: Fix the release date on Quake 4 for Xbox 360. I was going to pre-order it today and was told that I couldn't because it was already out. She told me it came out on 10/21.

in all fairness, many of the gamerushes in my area receive their games on wednesday. if they did not get a game in last night (wednesday), then you should wait until next week before you try to pick up gta:libery city or battlefield (xbox). don't take the employees word that it'll be in today or tomorrow b/c they don't have any control of the situation, and are probably trying to make you feel better. save some gas and time and check to see if it's in stock next wednesday. i went through the same situation when i preordered my first atlus game from gr. i kept getting the run around for 3 weeks before i figured out the situation. g'luck!

Who decided? And since when is discussing whether the deal is really a "deal" due to problems associated with doing business at the store not a legitimate issue to raise.
 
I didn't even bother to check for my BF2 (XBOX) and GTA(PSP) today....hopefully tomorrow. I have to trade The Warriors in anyways.

The gamerush's here either put out the game the Sunday before tis supposed to come out, or they wait till the Friday after.

Is that $20 for D2R2 still going on? I might have to pick some up at TRU...

This is almost not a deal topic anymore anyway. There are hardly ever any new deals like in the golden days anymore. It's been the same deals for a while with no changes. Just about the only thing this topic is good for anymore as far as deals is trade-in prices.

Apparently they just started taking them pretty much everywhere a month or so ago (remember something about not in Florida for some reason). I had checked in both Maryland and Tucson, AZ during the summer and they both said "soon". Then, about 1-2 months ago I was the first person at a particular BB in Marlyland to trade games. I've done it at BB's without the big trade board. YMMV on getting an employee who knows how to do it though - especially if you want to reload a value card (easier just to get a new one).

As for the D2R2 trades, I think I have done them in a way so as not to raise any suspicion from the clerks - no 2 at a time, and I have only done 2 or 3 at GR total, all a week apart - the rest have all been single copies to different BB's. Sure, I lost out on a bit that way, but it was safer for me and better for them (spread the copies around a pretty wide area!).

Edit: Hey doraemonkerpal - I like your custom title, except I'd leave off the USC and UCLA parts :D. I'm deep in Duck country here and REALLY REALLY want Cal to paste the Ducks next week, especially after that embarrassing loss to Oregon State.

Well, the discussions won't change any, but I'm pretty sure starting on Monday or Tuesday they're extending the trade-2 deal to include new releases, correct? Same deal a different way, but at least it's something.
