Yeah, I was just about to say that there will be at least some deal-related discussion coming up because the preorder deal is going to change in some way on Tuesday - hopefully for the better (including new releases). Though, since I've already preordered everything I want, I can't see using the new release part of the deal much. Maybe I'll pick up that Incredibles game after it comes out if it gets good reviews. And maybe a second copy of Animal Crossing or Mario Kart for the internet play with the kids when I'm travelling (better get that second DS - WHY oh WHY do they have to make that Mario Kart bundle DS RED - if you don't understand what I'm getting at see the edit of my last, the part about college football - I simply CANNOT have a red anything, in November of all times).

They had PSPs on launch day. I picked one up that morning and I think they even had a midnight launch. I don't know about the DS because I haven't bought one yet.

Does that store suck a lot? It's the closest one to me, (but still pretty far) and I'm hoping to preorder Dragon Quest 8 there.

I got a DS on launch day about an hour after the store opened. I've since sold it though. I don't look at handhelds as gaming devices, I see them simply as Tetris DX players! :D

They are having a midnight launch, or rather, I was told this from an employee about a month ago. I expected them to anyway, since they have done it in the past for games and systems. Besides, they are already open until Midnight, what is another 10-20 minutes to hand out 10 systems.

How much of a hassle is it to cancel a preorder you used with the Trade 2 deal, and still get $50 credit out of it? If they still don't have it in tommorrow, I'm just going to cancel it and use the $50 on something else I think, and then head to Best Buy, or hell, even my work (K-Mart) and grab it. Pretty sad when the big K has a game store beat on it's releases.

I don't think you can get $50 credit if you cancel a preorder that you only payed 30 on. They scan your blockbuster card and see that you did the trade 2 deal.

Also does anyones blockbuster close at 11 now? For some reason mine does and the guy told me all blockbusters are starting to do it. Thats ultra lame.
 
If they don't have BF2 in for XB tomorrow, I'm gonna slap the Chinese kid that works there in the face. >.

YMMV on that. I've got $50 back before, but I pre-ordered something else with it. They let me switch to 360 titles for $10 more. YMMV on that even more though

If you can drive up to the Plymouth, MI store that would be a better choice (where do you live?). But the Brighton one has its moments of utter stupidity. Such as not letting me cancel my SMT: DDS 2 game, even though its never, ever coming in. No changing pre-orders, ie giving me only $20 of credit to change True Crime 2 to anything else. Unless Carla is in, you are screwed.

One thing that might work, in case they offer you $30 back, is if your store doesn't have the game your picking up in stock, ask to have the full amount credited back to your card because you are going to ;) purchase it from another GR that has it in stock. Might be worth a shot.
 
Anyone have a list of the 360 accessories that you can preorder? I mainly want to know if they have the wireless network adapter on there.
 
Also, any NEW 360 games to pre-order? I'm debating what I want to switch a few games too. I wish they would dro pthe price of PDZ & PRG3. I may even cancel my GTA(PSP) if it's not there tomorrow. I really don't play it much, and I'm not about to upgrade to 2.0...I may cancel BAttlefield 2 also, we'll see.


I'm almost at a lost of what 360 games I want. I was thinking some 2K sports games, but I may just wait until the next go around.

Is Dead Rising available for 360? I think I found a few more I want (Ghost Recon 3 , GUN, something else....who knows...I already have 7 on pre-order)
 
My store still doesn't have BF2 xbox, they got it for PS2 today... Cancelled my preorder and got that credit put on my account. LOL sucks for those silly enough to wait. Go buy it somewhere else and return that copy to another store.

BTW I did use the preorder trade 2 get a preorder for $29.99 deal whe I ordered it and just got $50 back in credit.



OFF TOPIC OF GR, but giving angered people who are still waiting for BF2 some ideas:

Go to TRU buy 3 copies for $106 (tax varies) and then sell 2 on Ebay. I did this today $40+5 shipping buy it now, no auction crap and required payment immediately, both sold fast. Figuring in shipping and Ebay and Paypal fees I got $80 for 2 games. Makes my copy of BF2 $26 and I still have $53 credit at GR... :D Originally I was gonna go 3 ways with some friends but I let someone else have my copy and I went all in for myself. :roll:

Now before everyone gets themselves all in a hissy, let me just say that it IS an inconvenience to have to wait for pre-orders. However, there's only so much complaining you can do when you're getting new games for such low prices. When you can fork out $30 or so for two games, trade them in for $54, pre-order a game for $30 and have $23 left in credit, you should just appreciate the fact that you essentially get a brand-new game for $7 and wait a few days. This is coming from someone who has had both GTA:LCS AND Blitz the League on pre-order for a while now!

exactly, the dialogue in here is has been absolutely ridiculous, it's amazing how easy it is for people to denigrate the service of a place that you so willingly abuse
 
I agree...I LOVE my GameRush. I just have been cancelling/switching a few of my pre-orders that don't arrive. Works out BETTER for me, since I'd rather have 360 games....not X-Men for PSP

All the people saying "Oh let's bitch, gamerush is monitoring this thread, they should know they're messing up!" Do you honestly think they care what we want? We're the devil, we milk their system for all they got and you expect them to conform to us? Get real people!

If anything, they will delay the pre-orders even more if it makes CAGers buy games somewhere else. Just like all you Battlefield 2 people, I'm pretty sure they're overjoyed that you bringing your business somewhere else. You have to remember they dont want customers like us.

I will fight this one tooth and nail I believe, because I wouldn't be cancelling it if they got the game on time. I am only giving them until Friday only because their computers actually say the 28th, and they keep using that as an excuse. I can see why they have this in place so someone dosen't abuse it, but you think they would bend the rule when they are to blame.

So hopefully tommorrow, if not I guess I'll use the credit to get Mario DDR and go get GTA at Circuit City.

The reason it sounds racist, is that you said I want to slap "that chinese kid" that works at GR. You could have just said I want to slap all the employees, or the GR guy. I remember when you asked if people could tell how old you were, well you just showed us that you really are 15 years old.

Its not like the GR employees are ordering the games and shipping it themselves. They are just as clueless as us to when the games will come in, I had the guy from the Plymouth GR call me today to tell me that my DBZ game did not come in and that he was sorry, which was very nice of him.

11? Mine close at 10, except on Friday and Saturday.

Hate to open up this can so early, but has anyone had luck with GTA:LCS or Blitz: The League today? Mine told me yesterday that they're supposed to get them, but, well, you know!

I don't see anything wrong with it at all, it's just a way to describe someone like saying "oh that big kid" or "oh that skinny girl" It's just a description so people know what he's talking about, it's not like he said "oh I'm gonna slap that $$$$" or anything remotely racist.

Damn I thought I was the only one still waiting for Blitz The League. Its weird that they havent gotten it yet. I'm tempted to request my credit back today for it if they dont get it and pick it up someplace else.

Billy, your argument only makes sense if GR are trying to alienate all their customers and not just CAG'rs. The point is they need to build a loyal customer base, and most gamers are anal about getting new games the day of.

Actually it the same for people who love movies, but they don't seem to have the same problems in that area. (except their prices are ridiculous).
