I went and double checked, RE4 & Ghost in the Shell: SAC are both $19 each.

Of course, i got to GR at 10:05 and they gave me shit because they dont do trades after 10pm (note im the only person in the store, so its not a "busy" thing) . So now i have to go back tomorrow morning, hopefully the values wont change between the time they close and the minute they open.
 
Ghost in the Shell is $19 also huh? Nice now I wish I would've grabbed a copy or two, oh well I'll check again tomorrow when I go back to do my price adjusting. Thanks for the info, I wonder how many more hidden gems there are in this deal.
 
Can someone confirm Dynasty Warriors 5 (not Xtreme Legends) really trades in for only $12? Only reason I bought it during the TRU sale was GR trade fodder.
 
Is it only the PS2 version of Dragon Ball Z:Sagas that gets $12? How much does the Xbox version get?

I accidentally picked up the Xbox version (for $4.98) and then realized that the posts were referring to the PS2 version.
 
i traded in 4x Romance Kingdoms X for $27 each and 2x Rengoku for $18 each, have about $280 in credit now, unfortunately i do not have a gamerush nearby and I am not really sure what to do with all this credit, i could go do more trades but that would only exascerbate the problem, and they only sell on ebay for about 80% of their value. I am really thinking about driving up to a gamerush that is 90 minutes away once I get $400 and buy a 360.

Yesterday I spun 6 copies of DW 5, 6 copies of Romance Kingdoms X and 6 copies of Psychonauts into about $500 store credit at my local Game Rushes. I used it to generate an Xbox 360 collection as I picked up Kameo, Gun, THAW, CoD2, PGR3, Condemned, NFS:MW, PD:0 and an additional wireless controller. Pretty good for about a $200 investment.

By the way, I did not pillage any of the TrU around here. I limited myself to 2 each of the 3 titles I bought at the 3 stores I have nearby. I several of each behind...

I dunno, but being that it retails at 29.99, it's probably not worth buying for a trade-in.

Anyone know if I can use Blockbuster gift cards at Gamerush? I have $180 in BB cards, the closest GR is an hour away, but I'd get a system there if possible.

To answer your question about the Gift Cards, yes you can use BB Gift Cards at GR.

When they ever are in stock because I haven't heard of too many people being able to get one that didn't pre-order through them.
 
Went to GR, they gave me crap about only allowing 2 of the same title at a time (so im gonna go back later after they change shifts). But yea, i traded in 2x RE4, 2x GITS, then i traded a couple of PSP games i dont play anymore (Mercury & Rengoku got 18, Wipeout Pure got 15). So i left with $127 in store credit. Once i go back tonight ill have $156.

BTW, to the person asking about what they'll do wiht the credit since there isnt a GR near them. They'll give you a reloadable gift card thats good at ALL BB/GR's if you ask.

I was wondering, in situations like that, when they ask why you have more than one of the same game? What do you normally say to them? I made up a story, but, would i have been able to just say 'oh, i bougth em for $9.99 each, and now i came to sell them here for 2x the amount i paid for em.

Never been asked about it, but yes, you are limited to two per title per day. And I wouldn't explain your plan to them if you don't want to get banned pretty quick.

Yea, i figured that might set off a few flags. The story i told was about how i "gave them as gifts, and the ppl dont want em, and since they opened them i couldnt return them. So only thing i could really do is come here because you guys offer the best trade in prices *brown nose*".

Since it might be wierd to go back in and have to deal with the same person, ill wait til later tonight, that way everyone who was in the morning shift will be gone.

Sorry to have to tell you this put you are only limited to trade-in two copies of one title per day on your account not per transaction so you will be making a few trips to Gamerush unless you have some friends and family that also have trading accounts with Gamerush so you can just put your credit spread over diffferent Value Cards.
 
Yea you are in the fast lane to getting banned from trading. Their deals are getting worse and worse so just make sure you get your credit on gift cards and go for the throat.

BTW even if you go back later tonight your entire trade history is displayed on your account screen..... Go to a different Blocksucker.


RE4 even with the market flooded on Ebay is still selling BIN for more than what GR pays in credit. I listed my GR copies and they already sold. :)

Yea, the card is reloadable, so im getting everything put on it. I was debating whether i should ebay the RE4's, but i didnt think i'd be able to get mroe than $19. Plus theres also the added time/stress of dealing with listing everything, then paying ebay 2-5.25%, then having to wait for payment, then having to ship everything out.

Just grabbed DBZ ps2 x3 and Ghost in the Shell x2 to trade at my GRs.

HMMMM I wonder how many I could trade in before I get banned? They have about 8 more GitS and about 15-20 ps2 dbz in stock....... LOL it's tempting but i'll just trade in these along with maybe a few other games I bought yesterday and easily double up plus some and hope for more good buy low sell high game comes along soon. If they had more of those $27 trade in games in stock thought i'd go ahead and get banned though! ;)

Yeah, its DW Xtreme Legends, but right under it it say Dynasty Warriors 5. Oh well, I'll just pick an 360 controller recharge kit and give the last copy I have to one of my nephews.
 
Alot of people have been confused about Dynasty Warriors 5 including myself since the TRU thing came up. I didn't know untill recently but there are 2 versions DW5 and DW5 Xtreme Legends. I found DW5XL @ my TRU but it rang up $29.XX they had no DW5, supposedly that was the $10 version.

Grabbed a used but mint and complete Mr Driller for $16, it was the only game I couldn't find at TRU that I actually wanted. I've got some more to trade tomorrow at a different store. :) I like buying GR credit for around 45 cents on the dollar. :D

I traded in 2RE4's, 2DragonBallZ's, and King Kong and got 99.50 or so after tax.

I then purchased a $100 giftcard to send to my sister, and they gave me 2 bonus $5 cards (I thought they weren't supposed to do that.)

In the past two weeks, I've purchased $500 worth of giftcards for family, friends, and coworkers, all with credit on my value card or trade in, and I have gotten 10 $5 cards. This has been at 4 different Blockbusters, without me asking (and needing a manager override to grant the second card each time $100 was purchased.)

I know its posted that you shouldn't get one, and I've never asked, but they have almost always forced it on me. Today, for instance, the guy in front of me purchased $130 worth of stuff, and the cashier "forced" him to cancel his order and buy a $100 giftcard first, then use that and the extra $10.

So anyways, if you want to get an even better return, try that technique for an extra 10%. That's all I was going to say...

Careful, you can get banned if you trade more than 2 on the same day. Read the terms of agreement you signed. Even if its different shifts. When a ton of one game gets dumped on them, they look into it...trust me.

My best advice is to never lie. I usually say, "I bought them but didn't want them." which is true. Occaisonally I say, I need the credit more. When you trade in 10 Dragon BallZ's in a week though, its kinda obvious what you're doing.

Im hoping that traffic isnt too bad at 10am, the malls/main shopping stores are all in the opposite direction, so i should be able to avoid the last minute buyers.
 
By the way, Black Hawk Down for the PS2 also gets $27. Just found out about it earlier today. I have a feeling that some of you who said you were done might go to TRU again ;)

DAMN DAMN DAMN - This is what I get for not having access to "The Internets" for a week. Looks like I have completely missed this TRU sale thing. Or will I still be able to get these games Monday? I won't even be home till late Christmas day. I was at a TRU in Tucson a few days ago and they had NO indication of any markdown on games. I was there for toys for the kids and only glanced at the games section. Of course I had no idea there was any more games added at $10.

I really needed an infusion to my GR credit too - it is running low.

that sucks. go in monday anyway, my TRU still had some of the games on sale midday yesterday.

i know.. io... I was thinking about TRU/GR as well.. but been spending too much money and didn't wanna ring up the creditcard 'cause if my wife saw it... she's kill me to spend $50 a pop (though can return that)... so we snooze we lose eh :) ? hehe.. hopefully there'll be some other deals coming along...

p.s. the other small factor for me was my TRU was 20 min back/forth (40 min) drive.. and didn't wanna drive that far twice and then going around GR again.. done that with Drake, DTRII... etc... oh well :)
 
anyone know how much tonyhawk PSP get for trade in at GR? I have one copy that I don't play.. just wonder how much i can trade in.... if it's too low.. then i'll just keep it for the heck of it :) thank you
 
I was wondering, is there a certain day that they change their prices, or is it day by day? Im wondering that since its a new week, if the trade in values will be lower for some of the TRU titles.

They change the values most of the time on Tuesday night but sometimes they do it on Wednesday.
 
Damn. My TRU was cleaned out, except for 1 copy of Delta Force:BHD for PS2, but some guy grabbed it right before I could get my hand on it. That was VERY dissapointing.

Has anyone traded The Getaway 2: Black Monday(PS2) recently? I picked it up from BestBuy for $5 today, and if it sucks as bad as most people say then I won't keep it long. I was just curious how much I should expect to get for it.
 
Well, I was able to get a FEW things from TRU today. I went to 2 TRU's. The first is really good about putting sale games out, and thus sucks for a CAG - all the regular after-Christmas (and before probably as well) shoppers snagged up anything good. I was able to get a Winning 11 8, and World Tour 2006, both of which trade for $19 at GR (though I didn't see anyone else mention World Tour Soccer). Then I went to the other TRU, where they aren't as complete about putting things out for sales. While the *really* good things were gone (RE4, Psychonauts, Romance of the 3 Kingdoms, Black Hawk Down, etc), I was able to get a few Ghost in the Shell. They also had a pile of KOF:MI, but I traded so many of those in from the CC sale this summer I didn't want to push it. Unfortunately I have also traded in a few Ghost in the Shell when it was on clearance at Target (for $5), so I need to be careful with that as well. I was shocked it still gets the same value as way back then. I also picked up Killer 7 and DBZ Sagas, but as others reported the trade value on those sucks, so I'll return them.

At the second TRU I was psyched because I found the Jedi Hunter controllers that everyone was getting for free with game purchases. Well, guess what, that promo apparently ended Christmas day. Oh well...

I traded 3 of those and have a couple more left to do. Nothing spectacular, but I needed a bit more credit. Now if we can just get PS3 or Revo preorders, or the return of the trade 2 preorder for $30 deals I'll have something to spend it on.

Oh, and no PopoloCrois in yet - looks like, now, they didn't even have one on order (despite my preorder). Also, neither the GR nor the local BB even has one for rent - which is bizarre considering the other way more crappy PSP titles they have multiple copies of. Why the 4 employees I asked about this before couldn't tell me they didn't even have one on order I HAVE NO fucking IDEA! Would have saved me a lot of hassle. Instead they just robotically quoted the Friday (rental) release date (even after that date passed). Today the manager was there and he says he'll check into it.

Anyway, overall it was a meh day - got a few trade fodder items but none of the games I actually wanted for myself at TRU. The used game section at the GR is getting worse and worse every time I see it - they seem to be selling games but not getting anything good traded in. It is actually quite sparse right now. Time to bring back a trade-in deal!
 
Just noticed that everyone before is claiming DBZ: Sagas to be only $5 at TRU. It was $9.99 for me today. Is this another one of the promos that ended Christmas day?
