Wow, I rented Condemned from BB a few days back, and it is amazing. Sweet story and graphics/gameplay. Definitely pick it up! :D

Best 360 launch title IMO. The game gets better as it goes on.

Anyone know if Far Cry Instincts:predator (360) is available for preorder? According to the new interview on Teamxbox, the game is still scheduled for a late March release.
 
I just saw the newest map for GR and here is their newest deal that will either begin on the 21st or 28th, I'll confirm the date later tomorrow.

The deal is Buy 2 get 1 free on select XBOX titles and here are the titles:

Conker: Live and Reloaded
Crimson Skies High Road
Fable
Forza
Halo: Combat Evolved
Jade Empire
MechAssault 2

Yes, it should be in the other thread. They (GR that is) need to come up with something better than this though :D.

They told me at my GR that they have a Buy 3 Get 1 Free on used games right now. Must just be a local thing though.
 
Like I said in the GR thread, all deals are gonna be local except for this one. Right now at my GR, they have a get extra $5 in credit on any 360 game trade-in....blah is all I can say...

Anyone else visit the store in Wixom, MI (the one on Beck and Pontiac Trail)? They have the oddest merchandising...all the most recent, expensive trade-ins are behind the counter on racks so its impossible to see the entire selection. All new DS games are wayyyy behind the counter on racks, so that you can see about 25% of the total selection if you really squint your eyes. Looks like their fear of theft has really hurt the functionality of the store.

Heh... my GR has the same ten to twenty DS games on a shelf that they've had for about 4 months. EVERY new DS release (new since November) is in the drawer with all the expensive games so you always have to ask if they have it.

Whats extra annoying with the DS games is that not everything is faced out, and the employees are normally too lazy to look.
 
Man it sucks that most deals are going to be local. The Manager at my gamerush is a huge douche and most of the time he wouldn't even honor nationwide deals so I can't really see him putting up any good deals.

I know you can pre-order games, but what about DVD's? I'd like to get a pre-order there of Advent Children since the store credit i earned at a $24/$10 rate and it'd be cheaper to get it that way. If anyone could help me i'd appreciate it.

As far as what I was told, they can't preorder DVDs. Once a DVD is released they can special order it for you and it will come in within two weeks generally but that's it. I'm sure they will get plenty of copies of AC because it's going to be a big thing I'd imagine. If not you can always save the money and just wait a little bit.

They're trying to cut down on shoplifting...every time I got to Game Rush and look at the DS and Gameboy games...there are about 20 empty plastic security cases because people have opened them and walked out with the games. BB needs some better security cases or they need to train their employees to actually watch the customers. They probably lose more money on the portable games than on any other item they sell. It really sucks because it keeps them from carrying as many portable games as they could and it also keeps prices high as everyone else has to pay for what's stolen. I wish this country chopped your hand off for shoplifting.

Hmm, didnt know about the special order thing, ill have to ask about Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter. Moviestop said they could order it, but they said it'd be $15.99. I wouldnt mind paying $15.99 store credit at blockbuster though.

No deals at my gamerush, the used game section has slimmed down a bit, they really need to start some kind of deal. I asked a manager and he didnt know of any deals. Also asked about special ordering, they said that location doesnt do special orders anymore, i went to another normal Blockbuster, but they had two newbies at the register, they basically just gave me the 'i dunno'.

Actually, for Wixom, it's a mater of space...they still leave the UMD movies and some PSP games out

Checked on Friday in Cleveland area (OH) and they didn't get them in yet. I was the only one to preorder and they received the game on Tuesday. I think we might get the shaft on this one.

Correction: They received the game on Wednesday.

Only the sealed PSP games are out at my store...probably because the security tag is sealed inside the case and they're harder to walk out with. All the used PSP and the higher priced DS games are in a glass case or behind the Game Rush counter. It's a pain in the ass to see the games, especially the prices, since you can't get to them and the employee(s) are always busy checking people out. I usually ask them to check prices for me after I get up to the checkout with whatever movie I'm renting.

Sad thing is, that I live in one of the best areas in the city and we have one of the nicest Blockbuster stores, but the rich kids around here shoplift more than the kids in the poor areas. Bad parenting.

no b2g1 free on used games but there will be a b2g1 free starting on Feb. 21 with all the games that I listed earlier. I believe the deal will run from Feb 21- Mar 13
 
What do you think the odds are that GR will get in any copies of Xbox 360 Fight Night 3 for sale? I haven't pre-ordered or anything, and I'm happy to burn $60 credit on it (since its probably less than $30 in real money thanks to the TRU sale).
 
I would hope the chances are high, since they took my preorder for it a couple of weeks ago. I'd say since it's an EA title, they should have at least a handful of them.

No luck when I called on Friday. I think we got screwed too. I bought the game from Bestbuy so I could get the face plate, im gonna return the sealed game at GR and exchange it for The Outfit. I'm really enjoying the game despite its mixed reviews.
 
I haven't been there today, but when I went on Sat, my GR said they would have B2G1 on all used starting this week. I will be going to get FN3 sometime this week and I will see if it actually happened.

Excellent... I'm gonna go trade that GBA CTHD today then. I've been holding on to my big stack of CC games waiting for a trade-in deal but I think I'd be better off getting rid of that one, anyway, right now. No more Geists available in my area though :whistle2:(.

Think there's any chance GR will have the Sonic DVD with Sonic Riders next week (which Target is advertising as being packaged with the game)? ...I didn't think so, though if they ALL come factory wrapped with the DVD then MAYBE GR will have it :roll:.

Are there any particular companies GR doesn't carry games for? They never seem to get nippon ichi or atlus games, for example.

It is more than "seem", they definitely do NOT get games from NIS or Atlus. There are probably a few other smaller companies they also don't carry - ones like AgeTec (RPG Maker), etc...

Though they seem to have stopped carrying Namco games as well :roll: - see "Tales of Legendia".

I'm going to check tomorrow one last time for the faceplate....I know the website said the 21st, so maybe GameRush shipping was confused. I would like to get it so I could keep it or sell it...we'll see. Full Auto is FUN though....screw the reviews!
 
Sucks yall didn't get your faceplates, people are selling them on ebay for around $20 looking at yesterdays finished auctions and even more near release day last week..... These freebies would be a nice way to knock the games price down.

Just an FYI:

GameRush got Fight Night Round 3 in today for all systems. It looks like they got two copies for each system in addition to whatever was pre-ordered.

My gamerush got in 1 copy for the 360 and also 1 rental. They got a crapload of rentals and sealed copies for Xbox and ps2. It's funny because I purchased the rental copy as my preorder because I wanted it now and somebody else already had bought the sealed one. So basically, my gamerush is sold out completely of fight night round 3 for the 360.
