The game got a 7.1 from TXB, and an 8.0 from 1up. With the onslaught of great games in the next 5 weeks, I don't think this is personally worth $60, but if you got the game for $30-$40, it is worth the buy. (With preorder deals)
 
Does anyone know how much Donkey Konga 1 & 2 and jungle beat with bongos are trading in for? Because at the closing toys r us stores they are ringing up 70% off, but its only for the ones that come with the bongos. Like thats a bad thing, just a heads up for you guys.

Not true, your account is universal, they can look it up anywhere in the US (or other countries?) I've tried it in 3 different states, store credit, fees owed, holds on account from other stores, all shows up.

I've had a problem with this one store, kept putting a hold on my account every week even though i hadnt been at the location in years, and when the location i am at would call them, they'd say it must've been a mistake and has been cleared.

Well mine still has the copies I traded in listed at $39.99. I feel sad because a few of my local BB are closing up and everything is being centered around the main local BB I go to. The funny thing is that this location a few years back took the time to make their store smaller and now with all of the other BB closing they are receiving the others inventory and now they don't have enough space for it.

What I mean by local is that there were three BB within a five mile radius of my home and now it looks like only one will survive because one closed already (didn't even know until two weeks after they had completely shutdown) and the second is about to close here soon. The third would be the one that is receiving inventory from the second one.
 
I would say I hope they get AOE DS today, but it looks like EB/GS pushed the release up to today, and Best Buy doesn't have it till tomorrow, so unlikely.

Of course, I'm hoping to get it at Best Buy now with the $10 coupon so I don't have to waste $40 in credit, but I still need an excuse to go to GR and do some more preorders.

What Best Buy $10 coupon? Did they come out with another one? The one everyone was using expired last month...

I just called and AOE DS is in, so I'll be stopping over there tonight.

Is it just me, or in general, are they getting better about timely releases? They got EB/GS and BB beat with this one.
 
Well they got Grandia 3 in so I'll go pick that up tonight. Better than nothing I guess. No idea what I'm going to do with another $53 in GR credit. I'd feel dumb preordering the new Shadow Hearts because they probably won't get it and I haven't beat SH:C. Veronica Mars Season 1 maybe... Any luck on the Legendia they had on order io?

It's just you :D. Still waiting on Legendia, and Grandia didn't come in yesterday when everyone else was supposed to have it. I cut the guy off with a "thank you" before he could tell me it didn't come out till Friday.

Good news that they got Grandia. Of course no call from my GR about it even though I've been pestering them daily about Legendia. I'll have to call again a bit later. I was considering preordering the new SH, but they charge $50 for it and everyone else charges $40, plus I haven't played the other 2 yet, and by the time I do the 3rd will probably be available for $7.48 at Target like the second was. Though maybe I can switch Legendia to it :roll:.
 
I would never be one to tell you guys how to spend your money, but what's with all the complaining about GR having "nothing to spend" your hundreds in credit on?

It's February. If you've got lots of credit, why spend it just to spend it? I swear, sometimes I think this site creates "buyer addicts" thereby making its name a complete misnomer.

In the Summer (and especially the Fall) good things will be out...things WORTH buying...

Oh, I definitely want to save my credit for the PS3 and Revo. It's just that with their faltering deliveries, lack of deals, and piss-poor stock it is not looking good for ol' GR. I think we feel we need to spend some credit on half-decent stuff now because they may never get the good stuff later. However, I have held back - not preordering SH for example. If I wanted to burn my credit I would have gotten that and several other games I'm not sure about. We just don't want to be stuck with too much credit that will only be good for movie rentals :D.

While I would love to save money on buying a PS3 and have one at launch there is no way I would buy one from Gamerush even if it was half off. I'm a major Sony fanboy but they always have trouble the first gen and I'll be getting one from somewhere that offers extended warranties. I'm not sold on the Revolution yet, I need to see an actual proven application of the ideas first.

I think buyer addicts are just attracted to this site. We save more money and want to get even more games with the money we have left. I'm more worried about the credit becoming worthless than anything else though.

io, that's a good point about the new SH becoming cheap. I'll just wait too I guess. Hopefully between school taking up my time and work I can make Grandia III hold me over until Suikoden V and won't need anything in between.
 
I'm just debating Drill Dozer and Rub Rabbits (if they have either when I head over in a little bit). Rub Rabbits I really think I can afford to wait on, particularly cause my anal side won't be upset with having to get it used since it'll be complete from EB. Drill Dozer I might just have to go ahead and bite on if I can.

Most of the DS games I just worry won't stick around long as we've already seen with a lot of DS games out lately. I've only used GR credit on 4 or 5 console games in the 6 months I've been using them :p

I saw 3 copies of Drill Dozer at my GR a couple of nights ago, so they definitely got that one in.
 
Does anyone know if Gamerush will be getting the limited edition of MGS3:Subsistence?

I preordered that last summer but am wondering if I should order it somewhere else to make sure I can get the limited edition and the preorder dvd. Anyone else in the same boat?
 
Preorder DVD = Order it somewhere else. Gamerush is horrible about getting in the preorder bonus stuff. Unless they have it a few weeks before it comes out I wouldn't bet on getting it from them.

Went to GR and picked up Grandia. Not surprisingly, they didn't have any preorder goodies with it. Hell, I didn't even ask about it. Instead, they let me choose from the pool of leftover preorder junk from other games. Between a Black preorder promo, a deck of GUN cards, an Ultimate Spiderman poster, a Fight Night R3 PS2 demo, and an RE4 Ada figure, I chose the figure....and I don't even really care for Ada, either - but it was a nice bonus nonetheless.

Dealt with the same guy that denied me Chibi Robo last week, he apologized ("I haven't been at the GameRush desk since I started here even though I'm a 'GameRush employee'; I chuckled with understanding).

Picked up:

Drill Dozer - $30
Rub Rabbits - $30 (he proved he was a GR employee by knowing that it was the sequel to Feel the Magic)

Super Princess Peach - $35 preorder

Held off on preordering Odama since GS/EB updated the release date to 4/10. Anyone know anything about that?

Still have a good $50+ in credit, but I think I might try to reload a bit this weekend. Anyone know if KOF: MI is still getting $19?

I tried to get Drill Dozer at BB (AOE isn't in till tomorrow) with my expired $10 coupon, but got denied... she read the coupon :shock: That's like a 10% hit rate of cashiers doing anything more than looking at it over a three month period ;)
 
Picked up my FULL AUTO, but no faceplates either. I will check back FRIDAY. I think the website said 21st for the release of the game, so maybe they screwed up somehow. I really hope I get my faceplate...that's about $20 on ebay!

OK, so GR gets a few points back. Not too long after I called the manager called me back and said Grandia was in. I knew there was a chance when I could tell the first person I called was just checking the computer (and not actually looking for the game). They also had Age of Empires, which they apparently adjusted to the correct price of $29.99. EB hasn't called me yet about my preorder there (and I stopped in a GS earlier and they didn't have it either) so I just bought it at GR. I'll get my $5 back from EB later.

Still no Legendia of course... They had TWO Grandia's saved for me even though I only preordered 1. While there I switched the second Legendia to Kingdom Hearts and will hope that the first comes in eventually or I'll just pick it up in a year or so when it is cheap (and switch that preorder to something else later). They still have a case for Legendia in their preorder promo rack :roll:.

Now I'm sitting here staring at Grandia III and AoE DS and must resist opening them - I am WAY behind on work and need to get stuff done tonight :whistle2:(.

Ack... how can I get my $10 back on AOE? I guess if they have another copy it'd be easy, but if not, does GR let you return and rebuy on the spot? Unfortunately I don't plan on going back there till Super Princess Peach is in in a couple weeks. Wonder if they might be able to credit me back on my account over the phone...

Did you preorder it for $40? I thought you did it using the trade-in preorder deal. I had preordered it using the trade-in deal, and I'm glad I switched it to another game a few weeks ago! If you actually paid $40 for it I would just bring the receipt and game and say you heard the price dropped upon release (they actually had it stickered at $29.99 at my store). At my GR, anyway, I think they'd let you return/repurchase, but of course that is YMMV.

Nah, I didn't take advantage of the trade-in deal as much as I should have, so all of those preorders (other than Zelda) were delivered by October/November. Everything else I've just been using my credit for in full.

Unfortunately I already opened it, but in the case of a return/rebuy, I doubt that matters much. But I will call about it.

Edit: And done. That kid has no idea what he's doing and took about 15 minutes, but theoretically I have $10 back on my account. We'll see next time I go in there; better bring my receipt with me.

Yes, if you read back a bit you'll see many of us are waiting for PS3 and Revo preorders. Though a few people have been told they can't use credit on hardware, we determined they were just being BS'd by particular clerks.

They let me pay for my 360 with credit, and from my understanding, others have done the same.

There have been a report or two that specific stores/employees have rules against it, but the system doesn't care what you're buying with credit, as far as I can tell.

Yeah, you can definitely buy consoles with your credit. I know I've bought a Xbox 360, GameCube, PSP, DS, 2 GBA's, PSone, & a Gameboy Micro from GameRush with store credit.

I hope GR would have some sort of promotion with the DS lite.. can't wait to get it.. do GR 'ever' have any promotion for hardware purchase though? I know gamecrazy do have promotion quite often the least.. they have the 12 free rental.. that was really cool... also :)

No, GR never has run any sort of promo for hardware launches. They did have the deal with select Nintendo titles being free with the purchase of a GameCube or GBA a little while back, but I wouldn't expect any sort of deal on the DS Lite.

I have bought 2 DSs for fellow CAGs from their and that is about it console wise. I am saving up the credit I have now to buy a 360.

You'd be lucky to get your money back on that one. It sells for $20 new at GR and I'm somewhat positive that I saw a used copy for $10 there the other day.
