Game Pass

Rent unlimited games for a month. You can have one game (or 2 depending on the pass) out at a time and can return it whenever you want and switch it out as many times as you want.

$21.99 for 1 Game

http://www.gamerush.com/rules_gamepass.php click this link to find out about gamepass at Gamerush.

You must have a credit card/check card to signup. Checkcard must be visa, mc, amex, dc, or diners club. You can also do it by getting a prepaid visa, mc, dc or amex card with at least $1 on it so it will clear the authorization and just pay for it each month (very tedious though). You can cancel at any time. Good on any rental game (gamecube, psp, nds, gba, xbox, ps2).

Well... Blockbuster is in trouble... so, of course GameRush is going to feel the impact - it's under the BlockBuster umbrella. I heard they are also trying to get rid of the 'GameCave' stores...

A good percentage of what the person said could also apply to EB or just about any other chain store... I remember people going crazy with the EB trade ins when the PSP came out (flipping/working the loopholes - remember '9 Holes Of Xmas??' ). Customer service? Why an EB employee decides to go into the back room and label used games on a Saturday instead of helping the people on the floor is anyones guess... People not happy in retail? Guess what - visited any small retail store lately?

Stopped by my GR today after school to do some trades.

Socom 3 (PS2) $27
Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (XB) $19
Star Wars Battlefront 2 (XB) $27
Burnout Revenge (PS2) $12
Lunar: Dragon Song (DS) $18
Feel the Magic XY/XX (DS) $5.50

Got $108.50 credit to use on the monthly Game Pass (one game out at a time), and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced War Fighter for my 2nd 360 game. :D And then use the leftover for Oblivion. March and April is gonna be sweet for the 360. :D

No big surprise, no Legendia or Chibi-Robo tonight, and they told me the street date is, all together now, FRIDAY. :wall:

I was quoted $10 for PS2 Lego Star Wars, but didn't trade it.

I preordered Tales of Phantasia for GBA - they have it for the correct price of $29.99. I also bought the new Wallace & Gromit movie for the low low price of $21.99 . Oh well, slightly better (given that it is credit) than the $15 I can get it for elsewhere. and I figured I better start spending the credit on something.

Same thing when I called about SFA 3 PSP. I sincerely believe, and a talk with a district manager once verified it, that employees mistake Blockbuster store release dates for GameRush ones. Allegedly, GR pays to get games shipped promptly, like EB and GameStop, but the computer lists the company-wide release. They're probably sitting in boxes somewhere. Kinda pisses me off.

However, I wouldn't advise being in a big hurry to get Chibi-Robo. Here's my review: http://videogames.yahoo.com/gamereview?cid=1951016585&tab=reviews&page=0&eid=435447

My gamerush had Chibi Robo in today was working so I couldnt pick it up, but nowhere recived SFA 3 max, or Resident Evil DS even thou release date was yesterday, so ill have to pick everything including my Tales of Legendia today oh well one less trip

Well, good news that a GR has gotten it in - so this won't be like Batallion Wars where every store got it 2 weeks late due to some wierd distribution problem.

In other news, last night I got 12 new games at CC for just under $24. Now if GR ever brings back a trade-in deal I have some more fodder ready to go. :whistle2:\"
What in the world is GameCave?
Probably another off-shoot gamestore that blockbuster owns, like Rhino Games.

And speaking of late games, did Blockbuster/Gamerush ever get Popolocrois in?

The release date for SFA 3 Max + RE: DS is today, the shipping date was yesterday.

It figures GR can't get them in on time.

GR never got Popolocrois, and probably never will, Berzerker.

Edit: I seriously have the worst Gamerush's, ever. I called one to ask about Resident Evil DS, the girl cant find it in the computer so tells me they aren't getting it, when I tell her "Yes, they are, I had a preorder on it", she then tells me "Oh... try back FRIDAY". Like io, the friday date is really crazy since EVERYONE knows they are getting games every day.

Yesterday I went to my local Blockbuster and traded in 2 * KOF:MI and 2* Geist for $84+tax. When I asked for that on a value card, I was told that they could only give me store credit. When I asked why, and stated that I wanted to use the value card at other stores since I travel alot, I was told that they were "on the wrong Tier for that."

The woman explained that Blockbuster trade-in policies were based on a Tiering system which itself is based on things like demographics, frequency of game purchase per customer, etc.

Has anyone else heard of this?

The odd thing is, I could use that credit to purchase a normal gift card...
The GR's around here got Popolocrois the week it was released, so it must have been a regional thing.
Well, that's wierd. I figured they had just decided not to carry it. They didn't even get it for a rental at my GR. I had to go buy it at EB after waiting 3 weeks after release for my preorder. They still don't have it.

Hmmm... 2pm and still no call from GR (was sort of expecting one since I was in there last night and all the regulars were there checking on Chibi and Legendia for me). Has anyone else been able to get these 2 games? So far 1 report of Chibi-Robo being in and no one has mentioned Legendia besides me (I can't have been the only one to preorder this?) :D.

I called them about Chibi Robo, it's in. Didn't bother asking, but hopefully RE: DS is in so I can pick that up as well. Otherwise I'll wait for it to go on sale somewhere unless it's in stock next week when AOE DS arrives.

Ok... bad news and good news.

Geist only gets $10 trade in credit as of today - I did a bit of a double take when the guy told me, but I still took it since I opened it already, and I only paid $10 for it anyways. Seems like GR caught on in a big way.

Only one GR (out of two) I checked here got in RE: DS and SFA 3 MAX, and it took the guy about five minutes of digging to find SFA 3 in the PSP game shelf behind the register - RE: DS was out on the shelf. I didn't see Chibi Robo, but I didn't ask either - chances are it was in the shelf with no display copies whatsoever, like SFA 3 MAX (how does GR expect to sell games like this? Megaman X had no display copy either).

What's weird is the first GR wouldn't sell me Megaman, claiming it was preordered - apparently they hold games for a full month when someone preorders it, and the guy wouldn't sell it even though it's been 2 - 3 weeks since it released. No biggie, went to another GR where I got a copy (after they had to look for it for another 2 - 3 minutes, no shelf copies, was thrown in a glass case).

Apparently Gamerush is also offering $15 in credit for AoE DS, it's one of the "top 10" on the board. Pretty good for a game that hasn't even come out yet

I cleaned out all my trade-in credit today, just had to pay 20 cents out of pocket for all three games, so I'm done with GR for awhile now, espically since they've caught on to all the big trade-in games.

Welcome to botticus' first GameRush rant.

I drive the 20-30 minutes to GameRush (yay 25-35mph all the way!). This is after calling this afternoon to check on Chibi Robo. I arrive at the store, browse the used for a second, then go to the counter to get my preorder. He checks the computer, starts to go towards the GR desk, then stops, and looks at the computer again.

GR Guy: "Our shipment hasn't come in yet."
Me: "But I called earlier and they said they had it."
GR: "Oh, we have it, but I can't sell it yet. It has a street date of the 10th."
Me: "Umm... are you sure that's not the rental date? I know rentals have a release date of Friday, but games are always Tuesday or Wednesday."
GR: "Nope, its street date is the 10th."
Me: "But the game was released on Tuesday."
GR: "That may have been the company's [Nintendo?] release date, but not ours."
Me: Stunned, staring at him "So I have to drive all the way out here again on Friday?"
GR: "It won't let me do anything." calls over another guy "I can't sell anything before the street date, right?" "Yep"
Me: "How about Resident Evil for DS?"
GR: "Deadly Silence? Same thing, street date of the 10th."
Me: Leaves store, calls DM, leaves angry message.

WTF? Does he think GR is trying to give business away by DELAYING releases? It's bad enough when they can't get stuff in on time, now they do and don't sell it to me. I love it!

I'm going to request that they mail me those two games and include a gift card. That should suffice. Or skip the gift card and give me RE DS for free.

Not that I plan on trading it in, but if they're gonna charge $39.99 for it, they better give $18 for it like the other $39.99 games. Unless they're acknowledging that they're overcharging for it by making the trade-in approximate to what other stores are selling it for.

Ah, well, it had to happen sooner or later.

This is the biggest load of BS I've ever heard. Employees unfamiliar with games have told me this before, but if I just tell them the game is already out they will give it to me. The biggest load is the "it won't let me do anything" line, as obviously we've all gotten games before the "Friday" release date, unless this is some recent change for the worse in their system. I haven't called GR yet, but I'm stopping by there in a few hours. We'll see what happens. Just in case, I guess I should bring the Fry's ad showing the Tuesday sales date for Chibi-Robo.

Figure I'd make it its own post since it got lost in mine.

Geist - $10

If anyone had any left to trade in, you waited too long.

Yeah, the obnoxious part is that that particularly employee has delivered preorders to me before, and I rarely wait more than a day to pick stuff up (so its before Friday). Ah well.

Damn. I was planning on going and picking up some Geists tommorow at TRU before heading to CC and then on to Gamerush. I'm always a day late.
Anyones GR get Tales of Legendia in today?
I... I don't think they are getting it at all :whistle2:(

I just called my GR to check on my preorder and the guy said they didn't have any on order even though a few people have it preordered. This is the same type of stuff that happened with the Atlus games. This makes no sense because they got Tales of Symphonia new and Soul Calibur III all by Namco. Oh god this is going to suck if they don't get it.

Can anybody provide trade-in values for the following games? Thanks for the help.

Max Payne 2-PS2
Unlimited Saga-PS2
Xevious NES Classics-GBA
Pokemon GBA Video (any of the videos since they're probably all the same price)

Hehe, neocisco, I, too, would like the values of those as well as several other cheapies I got at CC :D. But I'm holding off on any trading or even asking about prices until they come up with a trade-in deal. I did notice some used prices of cheap CC games while I was in tonight. Metal Arms PS2 sells for $10, so probably $3 trade value on that. I think the same for Unlimited Saga. Mission Impossible Operation Surma was only $6.99 so will probably be excluded from any trade-in deals and only fetch $1 or $1.50. RE0 for GC was $16.99, so probably $7 on that one. That was all I noticed.

This is the same type of stuff that happened with the Atlus games. This makes no sense because they got Tales of Symphonia new and Soul Calibur III all by Namco. Oh god this is going to suck if they don't get it.
 This better not be the fucking case. I went in and picked up Chibi-Robo (sorry Botticus, I noticed they also had Resident Evil Deadly Silence on the shelf, so no problem putting those games out before the "street date" of Friday) and they said Legendia hasn't come in yet. But they didn't tell me none were ordered. But this has happened before where they tell me it hasn't come in, only to tell me 4 weeks later it had never been ordered. This is a pretty major release on the most popular system, I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't get it, especially after they got in the one and only copy of Chibi-Robo just for me.

As for my Chibi-Robo, of course they didn't call and when I went in they went to retrieve it from the shelf. Good thing I went in when I did and this is such a relatively obscure title or they might have sold it to someone else :bomb:
Figure I'd make it its own post since it got lost in mine.

Geist - $10

If anyone had any left to trade in, you waited too long.
Hmm..that's strange. I just traded in 2 Geists today at BB for $24 each, in the SF East Bay area. We don't have any GRs around here, would that make a difference in the trade-in values?

Some GR's, it seems, are starting to decrease the amounts given for certain games on a case-by-case basis. So, possibly, Geist is still $24 officially, but just reduced in some locations?

I think so - people seem to report different prices between regular Blockbuster locations and Game Rush. I wish I could trade at any Blockbuster.

Edit: io may be right, but I thought that I remembered reports of lingering higher prices at regular BB locations.

Well for a short while it was actually the other way around - the regular BB's dropped first and then GR (like with Xenosaga II). But it could be switched now.

Ha. Apparently the confusion yesterday was due to a "visiting manager" - who I have seen pretty often ;)

Anyway, I can pick up Chibi Robo (and will also get RE DS if it hasn't been sold), and I get a free rental. Doesn't do me a whole hell of a lot of good since I get two free rentals with BBOnline, but I might as well take it; guess it makes up for me not getting around to using one of my free coupons from last month. Maybe get $8 off a game I want to buy.

Anyone heading out to the CC deal might want to pick up Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for GBA. Gets $10 at Gamerush. For $3 that's a good deal. Rogue Ops for XBox gets $1.25 and so does Duel Masters for GBA I believe.

Anyone know how much Devil May Cry 3:SE and Tenchu: Fatal Shadow get for trade?

Still no Legendia luck for me. The guy I talked to last night said to check in today but they got their shipments already and no Legendias. Anyone else have any luck?

What prices have you guys seen for used 360 games? I am looking for pretty much all of the launch games.

I have DOA4 and PGR3, but the rest I am looking for. I currently have a bunch of credit at my GR, but they never get any used 360 games in.

Also, what about renting them and then keeping them. How does that work, and whta would it cost me? Am I better off just buying new at full price?

I have a seen a couple of the sports titiles, and they were 54.99.

All used X360 games are going for $5 under new retail. So $45 for Kameo, PDZ, and PGR3, and $55 for most others. When the 25% off used games deal was going on, it was good to get used Call of Duty 2 for $40. But you might as well buy them new if they don't have any used you are looking for.

Just called GR about Legendia - not in yet, but they say one is on order. Which is a little annoying as I had 2 preordered :wall:

And of course should the ONE ever come in I need to make sure I grab it ASAP before it gets snagged by someone else. Unless, of course, that ONE is their rental copy and they don't really have ANY for me.

I'm not optimistic about this one...

Yeah I think Legendia is going to be a bust for me. I called every store on the list the GR website would give me, so a good amount of NE Ohio, and none of them have it in store or on order. I don't understand if they can get the games why they don't. They better not pull this crap with Suikoden V.

Well at least they are telling me one is on order at my store, for whatever that is worth (ie, not much).
neocisco, I'm pretty sure Max Payne 2 is $1.50... I tried to use that a while back for the preorder deal, didn't work.
Thanks. I called GR today and they gave me some quotes. io, you'll be interested in these.:)

Unlimited Saga $2.50 GS/EB $1
Max Payne 2-PS2 $1.25 GS/$.75 EB/$1
Xevious NES Classics $1.20 GS/EB $1
50 Cent Bulletproof $12 GS/EB $9

I listed what the GS/EB monolith quoted me today as well for comparison. I also checked Rhino for 50 Cent and, even though they're owned by BB, they only offer $10 for it. I'm holding out until 2/18 to see if GR starts a good offer. Regardless, they're all going in then.

It took a while, but at least I left happy. When I preordered Chibi-Robo, the guy told me there were two entries in the system (turns out I preordered CHIBIROBO, the correct item is CHIBI - ROBO). So he had to deliver that item, then credit it to me (basically returned it) and then purchased the new one. And I got RE DS. I was already there for 20 minutes so I didn't feel like preordering anything at the time. I'll take care of that stuff next week when AOE comes in.

Anyone know what Zelda II (GBA NES Classic) gets in trade in?

Amusing exchange: "Who told you they couldn't sell it to you?" "Guy with curly hair, glasses." "Brandon? Don't listen to him."

They had to do the same thing for my Chibi-Robo delivery.

I don't know what's going on with Tales of Legendia in general. I was at 2 CC's and a Target tonight and it was nowhere to be seen at those places. Maybe it was released first to EB/GS since they have that preorder special going on and it will arrive at other places later? As long as CC/Target don't have it yet I won't get too upset with GR. I just wish they had more than 1 on order

I saw numerous copies of Tales of Legendia at Best Buy today.
